I have a bond with SA homeloans for 5years now. I have paid a deposit of R500,000.00 on my bond. Half of my pension. During Covid 19, I negotiated with the bank to pay less as I was on a contract job. They only gave me three months brake. When my contract finaly ended in February 2022. I informed them. Instead after not paying my bond for two months. They...

SA Home Loans Household insurance installation of a shower side glass

On 25 January 2023 I submitted a claim to SA Home loans for a shattered side glass of a walk in shower. The claim was approved and was given through to PG Glass Heidelberg for the installation of a new glass. There was making tape taped across the glass at the bottom. The shower was not being used at the time and when I removed the masking tape, there was a chip in the corner at the bottom of the glass. The glass was clearly cut too big to fit in the shower frame, because the frame is not level which put stress on the glass. I reported the matter to SA Home loans again on 5 March 2023 and again in April and May 2023. The claim number is CL4410002. The matter was referred to PG glass again and I received an email from PG glass stating that a new glass would be installed on Tuesday 30 May 2023. Nothing happened on that day or any other day. No one came for the installation. I followed up again via email on 9 June 2023 and phone call to PG glass on [protected]. The contact person I had was a Mr Anthony Macnabe. The lady who took the call informed me that there must have been some miscommunication because Mr Macnabe retired. My ref no is 4624371. My call was put through to another lady and again to another lady. The woman from PG glass on the other end of the line informed me that she did discuss the case with PG glass' head office who said that masking tape would never have been used during installation. I was also told that if there was a chip in the glass, that the PG glass installer at the time would have reported it to their head office immediately. This didn't happen so there couldn't have been a chip in the glass. I paid the excess amount and I was patient with PG glass who took more than 2 weeks after approval of my claim to come and actually install the glass in the first place. I am a law abiding citizen and an excellent client of SA Home loans. To be called a liar by a service provider such as PG glass was a tremendous insult to me as a person. I took vere strong offense to that. Nobody even had the decency to inform me that the second installation would not take place due to the credibility of my claim.

Desired outcome: I expect SA Home loans to intervene and approve the claim for the installation of a new side glass in my shower without paying excess again

SA Home Loans Customer service

Today the 2nd of May 2023 I tried to communicate with an SA Home loans consultant via their chat option. The person I communicated with just dropped/cancelled the link and I did not get helped at all. Sending emails take two days to get a "standard" response, replying back another two days and phoning the call centre, you hang on the line till doomsday. I asked for a settlement on my bond and need to get clarity on their statement that I will still pay monthly "fees + interest" even though I settle it till they finalized it - why, IS WHAT I NEED TO KNOW. Their managers and above are treated like ghosts as you cannot find them or speak to them. I need a competent person like a manager to call me back urgently.!

Desired outcome: A competent manager need to call me urgently to assist with my concern on their 4 point statement

SA Home Loans SA Home Loan Insurance

We have a Homeloan with SA Homeloans going on nearly 17 years and we have had the worst experience with their Insurance section dealing with damages to property caused through events that are completely out of our control. The first time we had a problem was when we had severe storms and it damaged our cameras, intercom, SA Homeloan Insurance sent a service provider who installed cameras that were cheap, when we had Samsung CCTV Cameras. Then our aircon blow due to storm and power surge, we have a power surge breaker installed in our Electrical system. SA Homeloans sent an Electrician first to assess the unit and they didn't know what they were doing. Then I got my service provider which is 1 of the best aircon companies in Durban to come in and give us a professional assessment, which they did and SA Homeloans Insurance couldn't argue due to the fact that their service providers in my opinion are not professionals in that field. Then SA Homeloans service aircon provider proceeded to install the aircon and they left holes on both sides of the walls. The aircon worked for 5 months and then it started to blow hot air. So the account holders phoned SA Homeloans Insurance to state that the aircon is only 5 months old and blowing hot air during the blistering heat months of November and December. SA Homeloans were going forward and backwards as their 2nd "aircon specialist" said that the aircon needs replacing and SA Homeloans Insurance provided minimal to no relief to us whatsoever in which case I had to call Samsung themselves to come in and assess the unit. Samsung technical support performed a professional assessment to unit, they called the aircon installer and embrassed him by stating that he couldn't even install the Aircon Unit properly in which the pipes were leaking gas which is extremely dangerous and Samsung Support told SA Homeloans Insurance service provider that he should stop buying their brand as he is giving their Institution a poor name when he is not installing these Aircon Units effectively. Then we had the storms during April and May 2022 and once again SA Homeloans Insurance said according to their assessors the damage sustained to our property during this vicious storm that took out roads and bridges, was not caused by the storm. So basically they where prejudiced us in a sense by stating that they storm either didn't exist or it was mild and we caused the damage to our properties. Their assessment was so poor because the flood experienced in April 2022 damaged alot of the house but we didn't repair the damages as we waited for 6 weeks before SA Homeloan Insurance could send an assessor and during the second storm in May 2022 which was just as bad, the house leaked minimal so there is a great discrepancy IN THE EXPLANATION BETWEEN the first and second flood damages, they showed such unprofessionalism in their assessment being an agent of SA Homeloans Insurance. I understand that alot of Insurance companies tried their utmost best to evade liability from the storms of 2022 by stating that they won't cover roofs and boundary walls however most people's houses sustained damages to those parts of their property so why pay insurance when it does cover 'Acts of God' or Natural Disasters. They should stipulate at the beginning of the Insurance agreement that they won't be covering Natural Disasters so it allows that consumer to scout another Insurance company that has morals and ethics to cover natural disasters. The manner of their behavior is as if we caused the storm or caused damaged to our own homes. During our experience with SA Homeloan Insurance, I would never encourage anyone to ever take an insurance via SA Homeloans Insurance, yes maybe subscribe your homeloan with them but try as far as possible take out house insurance with another company.

Desired outcome: Honor themselves and fix the damage caused by the storm

SA Home Loans Wrong information given by consultant hence making me loose thousands

I went for guidance when I purchased my first home at SA Homeloans in Newton Park Port Elizabeth. There I was told that I had to pay a deposit. Of 47 000 seeing I earned so little money. Immediately I felt bad. But went for a loan and maxed out all my credit cards that I ket for emergencies only, to get the deposit for the house. Long story short I eventually bought my fixer upper. And did some more research. I actually did qualify for the housing SUBSIDY. FLIPS but was not given that choice. I eventually wrote email on Email to Melinessa at the SA Homeloans branch and she said she will help me after I completed the filps application and all the documents. Eventually an email came saying they could only get my homes deposit back and allowcate it to my bond account. When I could have gotten like a 100 000 or more from Flips providing a service for the SA citizens who are struggling. It is not write to sit in a office and make people feel less also Not providing the correct information and whole picture. This is what is wrong with the world. I want to know who is going to help me get what is mine. Who do I contact please I am really struggling along with the bond and debts I am drowning and the subsidy is my only solution Frustrated first time home owner.

Desired outcome: Help in getting my Flips money. That I was told was approved but never received.

SA Home Loans Further lending 4584431

Good day

I have recently applied for further lending on my home loan as renovations was approved by SA Homeloans 2 weeks ago, i have never skipped any payments , i have also provided SA Homeloans with a debt clearance certificate . I was given false expectations when I applied and advised what amount I qualify for . I send my payslips and statements , as i am received a very good salary , Lesleigh the consultant emailed me and ask for more statements and latest utility bill, the bill was send with original application few weeks ago. I am paying my rates more than expected to City of Cape Town, and I also send proof that i brought my levies up to date that was in arrears . Furthermore the only account on my name is RCP which i have arrangement in place with standard bank, i send them proof to see I am paying it . after all this efforts they declined to borrow me the further money which in fact is my own money i paid into my bond. I went to FNB they offered me yesterdayy06/12 R220K immediately as my credit score is good . I feel i am being prejudiced by sa homeloans , and i would like them to resconsider , I have applied to move my bond to FNB , which will not be a problem. Lesleigh advised SA Homeloans want me to settle municipal arrears 1st , which i can do no problem. the other acc i am paying off monthly , as i do not have that significant amount at this stage to settle . I want to know how is this treating customers fairly , i received vehicle finance for almost R500K few weeks ago only sa homeloans dont want to help their own client of 7 years. If i do not get a satisfactory response would like to escalate this matter to Ombudsman or other authority

Desired outcome: reconsider loan application taking into account other factors

SA Home Loans Bond arears money allocation

Hi Ishaan Bundhoo called SA home loans earlier on and spoke to your Colleuqe and he actually assisted me with the query He picked that I had used the incorrect Ref number which IS 2537174 instead of 2537147 and he said he get the accounts department to allocate the funds correctly is not an issue, I am extremely unhappy with the way you handled the matter instead of calling me you continue to harras me and my wife  stating that I am in arrears stressing her out even more as she lost her job a few months ago, it is an extremely difficult time and year for us and you show no empathy if you had done what I ask you to do to involve your account all of this could have been avoided

horrible Customer service from you Ishaan Bundhoo

SA Home Loans Assault

Dear Sir/Mam

We have had a traumatic experience today 25 November 2022 at around 10:30am at our premises in Madikwe, Craigavon whereby an evaluator named Cobus came into our estate and harassed us publicly purely because he refused to move his car that was obstructing our way. We requested the assistance of the complex security guard to aid in Cobus parking his vehicle at the designated parking. After 3-4 failed attempts Cobus refused to move his vehicle and continued to take pictures of the property he was evaluating. He became aggressive and spat and shoved my partner, he was vulgar, taunting and provoking us both, he verbally and physically harassed my partner and verbally harassed me. (Not something you would expect from any decent human being, let alone a SA Home Loans “professional”) We are both females of colour that were harassed by a senior white male in our property. We are fearful of our safety as this man has left us traumatised.

Please assist in escalating this as a matter of priority

Desired outcome: Legal Action to be taken against Evaluator Cobus

SA Home Loans Assign a competent person

Have been dealing with an incompetent employee from SA Homeloans. I applied for an advanced on my existing bond account last week and submitted everything on time. I was assigned someone by the name. of Cindy Munusamy who doesnt even respond to emails let alone acknowledge them. It is frustrating to receive a service from someone who doesn't seem to have an interest on customer care.

SA Home Loans Incompetence and robbery

I recently transferred a large sum of cash into their account, with the intention of bringing my bond amount down, the first person I spoke to helped me adjust the deduction date so that the money had time to reflect, he did that pretty easily. Then I phoned again to check if the funds were reflecting, the lady said yes and she confirmed with me that the new amount would be deducted on the 4th of July 2022, today our account bounced because it wasn’t changed. Now they just expected me to put more money in the account. I should have just know there now is something about a 5 day something that is now all of a sudden a thing but it never once got communicated to me otherwise I would just have moved the date further along, but no one gave me advice or said anything about a 5 day period.

Either their staff don’t know the “rules” or their just not feeling in the mood to do their work.

Desired outcome: The amount to be what they said it would be.

SA Home Loans Home loan insurance 7079511

Good day

We called SA home loans to cancel our insurance policy as we have opted to go with another insurere.

When we originally took out the bond and insurance all documents where signed via pdf which was accepted. Now that we want to cancel our insurance policy no 7079511 where were told by Sandie Myeni it will not be canceled because we must sign it manually. This is ridiculous as you have all our documents signed pdf.

My husband and I have had several conversations with him and his service is extremely unsatisfactory.

What further should we do is the only resolution to report this to the ombudsman and bad mouth SA Home loan service.

Your urgent assistance and attention will be appreciated.

Best regards

The Smiths.

SA Home Loans Pathetic customer service

I lodged a claim on the 19th of April 2022 after the heavy rains in Durban for my roof and my driveway to be fixed. I was promised the assessors would come at the beginning of May as they were first dealing with emergencies. On the 12th of May I called their service provider who at first denied that my claim was received by them and after dropping my call they called back and told me they have my claim and would come within 48 hours. Today is the 27th of May 2022 and they still have not come. After calling SAHL and complaining about their service provider not coming I was asked to hold the line, the next thing I know I am talking to the service provider who have now promised once again they are going to come on the 30th of May. This is totally unacceptable and this service from SAHL is pathetic. I will move my bond to another provider and I suggest anyone else who has received poor service from SAHL must move as well so they can see that we don't need them but they need our money.

Desired outcome: Resolve this issue with immediate effect and allocate me a new service provider to come and assess my damages.

SA Home Loans Further lending

I have been requesting for a further lending amount on my current bond and I keep getting denied.

I don't understand how so many financial institutes is in a position to grant me loans of over R200 000 when the institute that I have a bond with is not able to grant me a further lending loan on my current bond which is available to me.

I kept being told of my affordability and they keep using the figures incorrectly and telling me I was denied.

I spoke to Zwelani Mkhungo and he advised that I was declined and while I was talking to him he decided to talk over me and I kept saying to him I gave you an opportunity to talk and now that I want to talk you talk over me. He got so annoyed by me that he dropped the call in my ear which I feel is very rude because I am an SA Home Loans customer.

I've had two bonds with SA Home Loans prior to this bond 6602417 and then I get treated like I am nothing.

This is the worst customer service I have received from SA Home Loans in over 10 years.

Desired outcome: For someone to contact me and explain why I keep getting denied for R39 000 and take me through their affordability process because all my income was considered when I initially applied for my bond and now I am having issues.

SA Home Loans Claim cl4388589

I am very disappointed at your service and lack of communication. We reported a claim 24 days ago and have made numerous calls to you and I keep being told that you will get back to me. Highly disappointed more especial since you guys are aware of the amount of rain we have been experiencing and you know very well that I reported a leakage of my roof.

Desired outcome: A response to the claim.

SA Home Loans A unresolved claim

Good day,

This is my second complaint which is a very bad reflection on on sa home loans, I called about a hundred times we have a claim outstanding regarding a burst geyser which was resolved thanks to the young gentlemen's, but the damage caused by the burst geyser was not resolved, we then called in to put a claim in regarding te water damage they send someone to quote on the damage done due to the bust geyser that caused damaged in my ceilings and walls. I have not heard anything from sa home loans since, when I phone in various times they told me that an agent will give us a call (which never happened since 2020)

When I phoned to follow they still tell me that an agent will phone me.

I have had enough sa home loans is very unprofessional, I pay my bills so I want the service they promised. If I don't get any responds to this complaint I will then have no other chose as to change my insurance to another service provider.

SA Home Loans Further lending.

SA Home Loan Further Landing. Tankiso Lebitsa.. I applied for further lending within my registered bond. According to the quotation I received from SA Home Loan I am already paying that amount because I am paying more on my bond. I was given a run around because I didn't have a municipality document that we normally get with the logo on but I did submit municipality recent account after I explained that municipality could not print that particular document. Due to my frustration of being given this unfair treatment I said to the consultant that I will switch my bond. After this I send him the municipality document but it was the July 2021 just for him to see the figures which he already have with him. And the consultant reply was that this is what they wanted but they need Feb or March but my application is closed because I said I want to switch. I have submitted everything they required. All the info from the municipality was there and it was recent information. I was unable the get that document they wanted and I explained to the consultant that the municipality has got problems with their printers hence I didn't have a recent one. SA Home Loans doesn't care about their clients and the consultant do not go an extra mile for their clients. I am very disappointed. The treatment we get as clients is so disappointing.

Desired outcome: For my application to be approved because I submitted all the documents and I am already paying more on my bond and it is within my registered bond. Please provide Me with feedback

SA Home Loans Bond settlement disputes

Good day,

I requested a settlement figure and was advise that there's forms that needed to be completed which was sent after I had to re requested them as I was told it would be processed shortly.

I completed and signed the forms and same send through on 24.3.2022 and requested that a debit order should be processed to settle my Bond by end of March 2022 and requested confirmation that all was in order.

No response was received after requesting again on 24.3.22 and no response.

On 25th March I received a email that SA homeloans cannot process a debit order for the settlement yet from the start this was not mentioned.

On the email I received it also says you can settle via EFT, cash, etc so I choose debit order now the debit order is not an option can you believe this, this is shocking service.

When I requested a settlement I should have been told this the very first time not to receive information in stages, first about the payment method and also that the payment should be made 3days before month-end.

I need this matter sorted out and my Bond settled via debit order by end of March 2022 ad I've already made arrangements and will definitely not be liable for any interest occurred thereafter.

I also called earlier on and spoke to Thobeka or Tobela (not easy to get the person name as they are to scared to give u their surname or ref number) this was today just before 2pm and I gave gert my number for someone to call back but no call.

I'm very disgusted with this service after being a customer with SA homeloans for more than 25 years.

Your urgent response ey be appreciated.

My account no. 1429627

Mrs AM Lewis

Desired outcome: Settle my bond via debit order by end March 2023
