Ruth's Chris Steak House service, food and gm's poor response

Had dinner Ruth's Chris Wilmington NC on October 3, 2019. Waiter Brandon was a very nice man but his "over attention and interruption" every five minuets made it so distracting the four of us couldn't have a conversation without him interrupting. As polite as he was, it felt like we had to look around if he was coming to the table again before starting a sentence so you didn't get "Excuse me but" constantly. It was like his agenda was going to be a priority weather we liked it or not. At one point I almost asked him to go stand away from us and I would get his attention of we needed him. This is not the behavior of a seasoned waiter. This was what I shared with the GM, not trying to do anything but alert him to a problem that would ruin other diners experience if not corrected.
Wife and I had the Porterhouse for two and it was the worst steak I have had in years and especially in one of your restaurants. Brandon prepared Bananas Foster table side for desert and was training another waiter. The desert was terrible and bananas were not cooked at all. He should be learning not training another new waiter.
Sent an e mail to your GM at the restaurant which he didn't reply to so I called. He answered and told me "he had read my e mail and was thinking about what his response would be" and that's why he didn't return my e mail or contact me. Well its two weeks and I not holding my breath I'm ever getting a response. When we spoke I told him I had no intention of bashing the restaurant on social media and didn't want the waiter to get in trouble but felt he needed more training to be waiting tables in a restaurant of your caliber. My steak is another story and had grizzle running through it where you had to cut around it to eat. Again chef doesn't have X ray vision and a steak can slip bye I get it.
I was not looking for a free meal and still not looking for that, but felt I was sharing my disappointment honestly . If you request a copy of my e mail from your GM in Wilmington I think you will see that my intent was to help him improve on customer experience not get anyone fired or get something for nothing.
So now you have lost a customer who has eaten in your restaurants from New York to Florida for over forth years. The lack of follow through from the manager in Wilmington is not acceptable IMO. Now, I don't care what he does, but for me to invite another couple for a first time dining experience at Ruth's Chris and raving about how great it was going to be It was a huge let down.
There are some amazing restaurant's in Wilmington and the area is exploding with new residents. Your not the only good restaurant in town and for four people to have a drink at the bar for $80.00 before sitting and have wine and dinner for four with a bill for almost $500.00 with a tip, to say I was disappointed is putting it mildly. The apparent lack of concern for my complaint by your manager is unacceptable and as I felt our conversation was total lip service I'm not surprised he never contacted me again. Again my desire at first was to alert him to his staffing issues feeling they needed more training. Nothing more that that.
Now you've lost a customer that's been patronizing your restaurants for over forty years. I hope this is an isolated case and not a pattern for this location. I doubt I'll be back anytime soon to the Wilmington location.

Ruth's Chris Steak House the food, the portions, the temperature, the wait staff, and the manager.

I visited Ruth's Chris Steak house on September 21st of this year and was greatly disappointed. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, and yet it took ten minutes for us to be greeted. The server was stressed, and so out of shape that he breathed heavily and was sweating profusely. It was unappetizing. The Salad came and the dressing was spoiled, to which the manager took the salad off the bill as if that was a solution to the problem. The steaks came without the normal sizzle and were undercooked, and definitely not the weight advertised on the menu. I asked the server to get bring my valet ticket up to the valet, as I had three small children to tend to. He went up to the hostess, and came back with the paid check and said that the valet guys were not there, so he left the ticket with the hostess. He did not know that I saw him and he lied to my face. He put the check down and as I stood to get everyone up, he placed an empty beer bottle from another table on my table, for the busboy to retrieve. To make matters worse; I complained about the matter via a feedback request and received a call from the general manager. I told him that I had nothing to add to my complaint, and asked why he was calling. He said that he wanted to show me that Ruth's Chris could "hit it out of the park for my dining experience" and wanted to get me back in to show me that. I asked him how he wanted to do that, and he told me that he wanted to send me a gift card for less than half of what I spent on my botched evening. I told him to keep it. I told him that "it sounded like he half wanted me to come back.

Me and my family visit your Restaurant on sept 23 and I was just informed that the lamb was no good and the was sick from the $19.99 lamb I spenf a fare amount of money and dont appreciate sour food. Please take better care when handling food. Thos is the second time I visited and have a problem this time the problem was bigger . Please handle your food with more care

Ruth's Chris Steak House receiving flowers that were ordered and delivered but not delivered

On September 14th I have reservations for dinner for a party of two at 8 in contacting Ruth Chris before the reservation I asked about flowers and the flowers to be delivered the advised me that is a possibility and that local florists and they recommended one Walnut Creek florist so I called me arrangements and paid for two packages of flowers one bouquet and one long stem rose in a box Flores said they knew how to deliver and will deliver them on time when we arrive for dinner they had no knowledge of the flowers I asked several times throughout the night if they had arrived I was told they couldn't find them later that night when we return home I got a call that they had found flowers so being extremely disappointed I feel well all right I drove all the way back to Walnut Creek to Ruth's Chris to get the flowers when I got there only one of the flowers that corsage or nosegay could be found so I called the florist the next day and they assured me that they had Ruth's Chris sign for the flowers. Issue this I have never had this happen at Ruth's Chris since I've been going to this restaurant extremely disappointed extremely upset somehow Ruth Chris lost the flowers that what's going to be part of an engagement I am asking that Ruth Chris refund my flowers and provide a complimentary meal that we had ordered at no charge thank you

Ruth's Chris Steak House filet and lobster

Went to Ruth's Chris steakhouse for dinner last night where my boyfriend and I shared everything but the lobster. Nausea woke him up in the middle of the night and I could hear him vomiting in the bathroom for an hour. Fast forward to now 11:36am he has severe diarrhea and is still vomiting, if it continues we may need to go to the hospital. We would like a full refund and if he ends up at the hospital the hospital bills covered. Very disappointed.

Ruth's Chris Steak House poor service

Some family members of mine were treated very very poorly at your establishment in TYSONS CORNER.
Her waiter was very unprofessional and so was the manager.
The manager who recieved a complaint from another customer about a crying baby(which my cousin had her 1 yr old son with her), he was getting fussy because he was ready to go aNd it didnt help that the waiter took an extreme amount of time to bring the checks. Once the maNager got the complaint they kindve just stood off in the distance watching but never approaching the situation. Once the baby was escorted outside by another family member the customer started to Clap and cheer. The manager then proceeds to walk over to the complaining customer to assure that the noise was done.
Horrible, there is a way to go about things and This was not it. This was handled poorly. THE MANAGER NEVER SAID A WORD TO MY FAMILY MEMBERS. Didnt check on them or anything, to see if they needed anything. Just Terrible, Terrible service. A very unwelcoming feeling

Ruth's Chris Steak House tile in entryway

I had dinner with a friend on Sunday, Sept 1st at the Philly Ruth Chris. The food and service were wonderful, as always. But the entryway has a horrible geometric tile with a glass barrier seperating the ramp and stairs. It's like a carnival funhouse... I almost tripped down the stairs as it throws depth perception off. Staff actually stands there and warns you to be careful. You really should change it before someone gets hurt. Tina Bable

Ruth's Chris Steak House not us prime steak

Absolutely horrible experience.
To make a long story short, I ordered a ribeye, mid rare. An $80 steak.
It was served what was essentially a low grade striploin with a tiny semblance of a rib cap. It was tough to the point where it was inedible.
I brought this to the attention of the waitress who called the manager and they took back the steak. The explanation I got was that sometimes they get these "strip-eye" steaks which are tough and are lower grade.
At this point I'm thinking "then why in the world would you put this on my plate?"
When I order an $80 steak marked as US prime, I expect a steak that is actually rated USDA prime.
This is clearly defined as a "superior grade with amazing tenderness, juiciness, flavor and fine texture. It has the highest degree of fat marbling and is derived from the younger beef."
That being said, this place is not serving US prime beef if they clearly purchased, cooked, and then served what was admittedly an inferior steak.

Yes, I am a steak snob. I know my cuts and I know my beef grades, but when I go to a high end steak house and pay high end prices, I have every right to expect high quality beef.

At this point In the meal, having felt like I was just scammed, I asked for our deserts to go and left.
To top it all off, I get home and see this piece of garbage strawberry shortcake with rotting strawberries on top. I guess you can say that was the icing on the cake. Photo attached for your viewing displeasure. It literally looks like someone vomited in the box.

We've been long term Ruth's Chris customers but never again. At least never at this location.
Please. If you're going to put a $10 steak on the plate, don't lie and say it's US prime.
Dishonesty is not a recipe for success.

Margarita and I went to celebrate our anniversary. The hostess knows us because we visit your establishment a minimum of once every six weeks and I also take clients there. Our food was served, was sitting on the table, when a spider (diameter of a quarter) crawled up the table cloth and crawled up next to Margarita's food. She was shocked, she jumped out of her chair and screamed. She is terrified of spiders. I put a fork over the spider and our waiter grabbed it with a cloth napkin and proceeded to show it to management. Margarita could not eat. We packed up everything. During the time of the spider incident the assistant manager came over to our table. The waiter then said we are preparing a bill. I was surprised. He then brought me a bill for $130.00. I asked to speak to the assistant manager. I told the AM I could pay the bill but I did not want to take the food home and I stated I could not believe he was giving me a bill. He then said wait a minute and left the table area. He returned in 2-3 minutes and said that the general manager said there will be no charge. Quite frankly, the fact that there was a GM who never once came over to the table is probably the most infuriating part of the evening. I cannot believe your GM could not face his client responsibility. The assistant manager asked us to take the food home which we did but threw out, and requested we tip the staff which I did - $40.00. The assistant manager gave me his card which I discarded. I believe his name was Mike. I have no intentions of returning to your establishment.

Ruth Chris Leadership Team,
First, I would like to say that I absolutely love Ruth Chris Restaurants and will continue to eat there. However, we had the worst experience ever at the Ruth Chris is Reno, NV in the Silver Legacy Hotel.
My husband and our 3 little granddaughters traveled from Antioch, CA to Reno, NV for the Wingfest on July 3rd through July 6, 2019. We immediately noticed a Ruth Chris Restaurant on the 1st floor and decided we would go there on July 5th. (5:14pm)
After a long day of walking and fun, my 11 year old grand daughter and I walked into the restaurant. The 2 young ladies at the front desk were nice and we asked if we could order food to go back to the room. So they allowed us into the restaurant area where I ordered the "2-Petite Filet steaks with Shrimp". Sarah took our order. Then I ordered a drink called a "Beautiful". The person that took our order (Sarah) stated she had never heard of that drink so I had to call my husband in the hotel room and he advised me what the drink consisted of and Sarah told the bartender.
I proceeded to pay for my meal and used my card. After I signed the bill I asked Sarah if I could've charged this meal to my room and she said, yes but not this one, the next one.(?not sure what that meant). Sarah entered the order incorrectly, So, I ask the person at the hotel desk the question and she said, Of course, just have them cancel the transaction and charge it to your room. And that's where the trouble started.
After waiting for my meal I asked Sarah to cancel the transaction, she wrote down my name from my license, to charge it to my room. I asked why she needed my license wouldn't she need my credit card. She responded to make sure you are staying here. She had to get a manager to complete the process who was not happy to say the least, she came back and said you are not a guest at this hotel. I was shocked because I had already spent 2 nights (she said my name wasn't the same. The name on my ID was Coulter-Bush and the name on the room was Bush, which means Sarah did not write down the entire name from my ID. The manager (Amanda) mentioned that I should have had an idea what I wanted to do prior to payment I'm sorry. "I could not believe my ears".I asked them to cover the drink and I was advised to use a napkin because they had nothing to wrap it with as I observed wraps on other tables.
I get to my room and much to my surprise there was only 1-steak in the box and I was charged $73.62. (the price for 2-petit steaks). I had to walk back downstairs to the restaurant and it is now 5:53pm. I spoke with the 2 ladies again at the front desk who responded, "We are new here and lots of stuff is happening". I went to Sarah and she called the manager and here comes the same lady……who stated, I'm sorry again she said, it was apparent her apology wasn't real at all. I asked if I had done something to irritate her because at this point I was feeling like she was upset with me.
As I wait for another steak and the current steak is getting cold, she returns with a receipt with a refund of $14.62. I reminded her that I didn't want the money, I wanted the steak. She responded that's going to cost extra. I was not concerned with the cost, I just wanted my order correct and the food. She responded well that the steak you have is big enough for 2. Are you kidding me?
I returned to the room with 1-cold steak, a drink with paper towel residue and a feeling that Ruth Chris let me down. Grant it "I paid for the meal" and a side. By the time we sat down 1 hour had passed.
What I would've like to have seen was a true and sincere apology, perhaps someone to say, "We are sorry, let us redo your entire order so you can enjoy hot food, and maybe something for the wait. But instead we felt like we were a bother. Someone, should check on the new restaurant because one of the other patrons at the bar tried to console us because he was on his 2nd trip to resolve an issue as well. In my perception the disrespect from the manager had racial undertones. I am an Administrator with a large Health Plan provider and one of the classes I teach is Customer Service and Service Recovery none of which was exhibited here.
Please fix it because I love Ruth Chris.
