Ross Dress for Less health complications from abuse

I am filing a formal complaint against Ross Stores Glendale. I worked there under a District Manager named Franklin Cho, and a Store Manager named Gabriel Lopez. I was harassed so severely by both of these managers during my time there. Not only was I harassed by them, I was harassed by Oswaldo Perez and Margarita Pina during my time there. They managed to gang up on me, and many others by either forcing them to quit, or forcibly firing them. Please report them, because we can't let this happen to other associates again. They are openly racist and terrible people. I don't know if they still work there, but if they do, they all need to be investigated and terminated as soon as possible.

Ross Dress for Less racism at this store. beware!!!

Beware of this location! Save yourself the heartache and the emotional pain, and do not work here by any means! The managers are RACIST and this store is filled with racist hate crimes. Especially a manager by the name of oswaldo perez. They are RACIST and disgusting! He is a disgusting PIG! I now have anxiety and trauma working for a jerk like him! He deserves to get fired!

Ross Dress for Less unprofessional employee behavior after a store employee lost my receipt

I was shopping for an outfit to wear to a wedding. I purchased 4 choices, planned to run them by my sister, make my final decision, and return the unwanted items. As I was leaving the store, the security alarm sounded. The security guard took things out of my bag and located an anti-theft device on one of my items. After the device was removed, my merchandise was put back in the bag and was given back to me. I then went home. I planned to leave the items in my car as I would be seeing my sister the following day, but I didn't want to leave the receipt in the bag. Unfortunately, when I went to look for it, it wasn't in the bag. I didn't recall the cashier handing me a receipt, but I checked my wallet anyway. Of course, it was not there. I believe that my receipt was lost during the security search. By this time, it was about 10 minutes before the store was going to close. As I couldn't have driven back to the store within that timeframe, I immediately called the store. I explained the situation, and had to speak to two different people. I was rather rudely told that under no circumstances would I receive cash back without my receipt. I again explained what happened, and offered to show the employee my bank app showing my purchase, but again I was rudely "chanted" the store policy. The whole thing rather upset me, and I put off returning my unwanted items for a few weeks. I was not familiar with the way Ross operates, so to add insult to injury, the prices of some of my items dropped drastically within that time. Because of that, I lost about $35. As I felt I had absolutely no recourse, I tried to just chalk it up to experience. The cashier who helped me was quite friendly and sympathetic to my situation, but there was another store employee that felt the need to come over and tell me that if I chose to "do this again", that on my third time I would not be allowed to ever return anything ever again. Do this again...DO THIS AGAIN? What exactly was she insinuating? She may as well have blatantly told me that I stole the items and was trying to commit a crime by trying to return stolen goods! I explained briefly what happened, and she just repeated again if I "did this again" that on my third time I would never be able to return anything there ever again. The way she was parroting her point was very condescending and utterly rude. I was speechless by this point. I have never been spoken to in such an accusatory way by a store employee ever in my life. I will use my $65.01 credit, but after this horrible HORRIBLE chain of events and employee interaction, I will NEVER shop at Ross again. It couldn't have been a more unpleasant experience. I know there are hundreds or probably thousands of people who love your store, I just don't happen to be one of them. I'm sure you won't miss my business, but I just thought you should know what happened. I feel that the anti-theft device being left on was the first mistake. The receipt being haphazardly thrown about was the second mistake. Who paid the price for those mistakes? Not those who made the mistakes. I did nothing wrong, yet it cost me. Shameful. The phone call on the night of my purchase had me so upset that I wish that I would have returned all of the items the following morning like I originally planned to do. At least I could have received full credit along with the side dish of bad attitude. My 2nd mistake.

Ross Dress for Less manager and supervisors unprofessional behavior

On January 28, 2020, I visit the Ross Dress For Less store 1565 Wichita KS around 1:50 pm. I proceed to do my shopping to find some good deals on clearance items and the Manager by the name of Virginia and Area supervisors were holding clearance merchandise and not sharing with customers. I ask for markdown that they are scanning and putting in cars, and they said they can't sell it because it been damage, but then I stay in the store looking around, and I saw them buying the merchandise.

This is unacceptable because we are the customers, Im a loyal customer but this is really disappointing and make me think twice to keep shopping at Ross. Us, the customers deserve to buy those items. This manager and supervisors should be terminated for unprofessional behavior. This behavior was a gross example of management and utter disregard for company protocol and misrepresents your company in a bad way. I am appalled that this is the kind of behavior tolerated by your company.

I hope Corporate can investigated and take actions and conduct disciplinary action against this manager and supervisors, and resolve this matter as soon as possible. Store 1565 and the Address is 8021 East Kellogg Wichita, KS 67207.

Ross Dress for Less defective shoe

On 5/24/2019 while visiting my son in Phoenix, Az, I purchased a pair of black Life Stride Simply Comfort shoes which I have worn only a few times to church. They practically look new. Last Sunday I noticed that the inside seam of the right shoe was coming apart. I got my receipt & went into my local La Quinta, Ca store but they said it had been too many months since I purchased them. I explained to the manager that both shoes had been worn the same & that the other one was perfectly good. She would not gave me a full or partial refund. I paid for my merchandise & told her I would right you this letter.

Ross Dress for Less my mk purse was stolen at the store

I am a visitor here in LA from Virginia for a few days to see my friends and Yesterday around 5:30 PM I entered to the store and Unfortunately I left my Micheal Kors purse inside the cart while I was checking items. For a while I did not check my cart as I was talking with my friends. Then after minutes I realized the cart is not there! At the same time I saw a security officer and I told her that my purse was here and I asked her if she had seen it. She said that she did not see it while she was passing me quickly! I got surprised how a security officer could ignore this incident. I went to customer Service to report it and asked to talk to manager on duty Karen Maya. Hopefully she was there and I reported the incident and asked to check the security camera. She didnt greet or smile or shoeing any sympathy! She keep doing her own job which was not emergency and refused to check the camera immediately. She wanted me to give her the exact time that it happened! I gave her an estimated time. After 10-15 minutes she decided to go and check camera! I was waiting around half an hour when she came and said she did not see any theft at store. It was shocking and I asked her if she is sure. She confirmed and I asked her if she could check the time that I entered to store with my big purse on my shoulder. Then she said she can not to do it cause she needs to wait for security officer who was on her break! She refused to check by herself and forced me to wait about one hour and half in store which made me so frustrated and tired. When I came and begged her to follow up my request as an emergency issue she was just starring with a mean look! I felt harrassed and discriminated. Around 2 hours passed and I did not have any idea why nobody is able to check the security camera. I called the police department and they said the camera needed to be checked first. I finally yield on manager and security that they need to put my emergency request in priority as a customer right instead of going to break or wasting time by walking around the store and do their regulars non emergency jobs. Finally the security officer went to the room and after one hour came out and I found out AFTER almost 3 hours that MY MK PURSE With valuable stuff inside GOT STOLEN by a woman who left the store with my purse 3 hours ago! I called the police officers and they came to the scene and they also were wondering why this camera check took so long! This is my concern as I really suffered physically and mentally as a 54 years old woman while I was waiting about 3 hours for this simple camera check! I got panic attack and my blood pressure was increased. Stores cameras should be revised to insure your employees are not harassing customers, wasting their time, and putting them in a high risk of serious health condition and all its side effects any way! The manager on duty, Karen Maya and store security officer on duty did not even say one apology to me! The LAPD report is [protected].

It's an unfortunate set of circumstances, but I don't know that I would call it an actual emergency.

Going through a great deal of footage from multiple different cameras can take a bit of time. Many organizations limit the people that have access to such footage for security reasons.

Ross Dress for Less unprofessional store manager

I'm writing this review to inform Ross corporation of the very unprofessional way of your current store (1109) manager of Homestead Florida with name SAM, hi letting my brother know that he was no longer an employee of the store. My brother went in to buy a few things and when he went to pay, my brother gave him (SAM) the discount card that is when he informed my brother in front of all the customers that his discount code was no longer in the system.in order to be a Ross employee you must answer a 60 plus question quiz where most of them are about good customer service and professionalism and I have no comprehension as to how someone who has none of the above is a current leader of one of your stores. I hope that some action is taken in better training your employees in order to prevent future miscommunication and public embarrassment. Thank you

Ross Dress for Less wait in line

Went to Ross's this evening. Found what I needed then proceeded to the check out. Four customers ahead of me was complaining after waiting over 15 minutes for help. To add to this only 2 cashiers and one walks away to put away hangers! Grrrr! We all look at each other in awe! When I finally get to the check out two more cashiers open up their station. Just no urgency to help take down the line.
Unacceptable customer service!
Where's the accountability? No one seemed to care!

Supervisor name gloria salvador harrasing my father every day. She yelling my father every day my father is 67 years old. And my father got sick because of this. My father having now emotional distress because of her. Ross Dress for Less customer service

I am compelled to make this complaint, on december 7, 2019 I am shopping in your store in los lunas nm, when I hear all this loud yelling... I proceed to go to the front to the cashier and this woman is yelling to this young man,
"get out get out get out of my store...!"it was scary. I asked the cashier who is that woman? She said the manager, I am flabbergasted I said you are kidding me. She was yelling at this young man at the top of her lungs, this young man standing there with a very sad look on his face, I asked was he shoplifting? She said no I don't think so.
This kind of behavior in a retail store is unacceptable. It was embarrassing for the young man for sure, it was embarrassing for everyone.
This manager should be terminated for unprofessional behavior. I have never seen anything like it in my 81 years of life... Ross has always been a favorite store and I want to keep it that way. I thought about writing an article to the newspaper editor in the local paper.

Ross Dress for Less management

I feel like I was wrongfully fired because I was let go about something I was never made aware about. I never got any type of proper training I was just thrown into the mix to basically sink or swim. I was let go because I used my employee discount for friends/family. This was my first offense and until now I never gave them any reasons not to trust me or question my character. If they needed me there early I came, always stayed late for them, never called out, I even came in on my days off. Ross used to change my schedule all the time last minute and I never complained. So I found out Christmas Eve I was going to be suspended while they investigated me and I found out Friday I was being let go. The amount they said I "stole" Due to the discount was a total of $58.92. Why didn't Ross say anything after the first time I used my discount.

Ross Dress for Less security tag on leather items

I am not complaining to get anyone in trouble. I just want the practice of putting the security tag in leather where the holes can be seen once the tag is removed to stop. I purchase a leather vest over the holiday and when I got it home there was a hole where the security tag was removed on the shoulder area plus you can faintly see the outline circle of the security tag. Why can't the security tag be attached where it can't be seen? I tried to smooth it out but it didn't help. I don't know if this is with every store but the store I went to does it. I also purchased a suede leather coat with the tag attached in the same area but at least the holes can't be seen as bad as the black leather.

Ross Dress for Less bad customer service

I was told my girlfriend couldn't use the bathroom by one employee named Kylie and then another employee let my girlfriend use the bathroom. After using she was comforted by Kylie because I guess the other girl wasn't suppose to let her use it. And she said "I would really appreciate it if you didn't go to another employee and take my answer for what it is. If my answer is no it's no she just an employee" I then asked for the manager Mario "the store manager". He told me she was in the right and kicked us out of the store. He put a hand and pen in my face wouldn't let me talk and was very aggressive and followed me out with Kylie and kept saying watch your language to make me look bad.When I wasn't using any bad language. I looked away from him when he was acting this way and kept asking for another number to call. I have a recording I would like to share of the situation if you would get back to me.

Ross Dress for Less debit card purchase / cash return

Let me just state that my bank honors a debit card purchase as cash and the money is taken out immediately. Upon going into the Ross department store I provide receipts and identification and I request did that the amount be returned in cash as I use debit and I have since lost a debit card. I also provided with the picture of the card so that they can see that it's me and that those last four digits match. I'm a hundred percent convinced that I'm being discriminated against because is up to the store to the store manager and the people that work there as to whether or not they return my purchase in cash. I hate to insinuate that but the company leaves me no choice as they leave that decision to management as to how they want to treat the situation. With all due respect I am going to Ross at 19th Avenue and Bethany the Christown Mall. I will attempt to return these items again and I hope that will act in a civilized Manor and just allow me to make this transaction in the same way they allow me to purchase it again my Bank has provided the Financial Funding via debit they look at it as cash as do companies that accept that type of payment what is making Ross so different or is it that what was making the decision sees me different

Ross Dress for Less stalking and uncomfortable feeling

I was recently in one of your ross stores located on Laurel Cyn Clvd and Osborne in Pacoima CA. Both security and store personnel where more concerned with following customers around to I am assuming in an attempt to prevent theft. However me a shopper in stores. It made me very uncomfortable to know that I was being followed throughout the store. I understand during the holiday seasons the need for extra security. However to make you customers feel as if you do not want them there because of your in adequate ability to scope out the actual shoplifters is an injustice. I will never shop in this store again

Ross Dress for Less senior discount

On Tuesday November 5, 2019 I went to Ross and purchased some items and because I'm a senior citizen I gave the cashier my ID to show proof which she did look at it. When I got home I noticed that one of the item I bought I would return so I planed on coming back later in the week. I did notice that on my reciept I didn't get the senoir discount and not sure why. I shop at Ross a lot and didn't appreciate the the sales person didn't give me my discount, I tried to return to get my discount but was told to come back on a Tuesday. On the bottom of the reciept it says that any purchase from 11-1-19 to 12-24-19 can be returned through 1-24-20. On November 19, 2019 I went to Ross and tried to get my senior discount from 11-5-19 but I was told by the Manager that they can't. I would like someone to call me and explain why this is happening. All I wanted was my discount that should've been given at the time but the employee failed to do their job. Not sure how Ross value their customers but it's very sad that the customer service I got lead to this.

Ross Dress for Less employment

I worked as a stock lead with Ross i started after an entire stock team had been fired. Well Ross has an amazing process that if you have the right amount of people it works great. I was suppose to have 15 employees on my team and i only had 7 and most of the time a few would call in or even no call no show. Never a disciplinary action. If i requested off, none of the work would get done and i would have to work 11 hour shifts once i returned, I never called in, i was the first one there and the last to leave. Anything my manager asked of me i did and any advice given i used it. Ross was perfect as far as schedule pay and benefits. Everything about this company is great even their process, but their managers are not capable of training the process. I was fired due to productivity. When i think of the time and dedication i invested in this job it hurts physically and mentally. They lose a lot of loyal and dedicated employees due to managers being incompetent. But im building a company that insists if a business does not treat their employees right, they lose their customers.

Ross Dress for Less customer service

The ross stores are close to my house, and there are a few items that I find convenient and cheap to get there, such as exercise clothes. But there is one store in particular where I almost always have a terrible experience, i'm surprised at myself for coming back there to shop. And today is no difference, but today is probably the last time they have me as a customer.
I bought a pair of slippers for a slipper drive at school. And when I was about to drop them off, I was shock to find that they were used slippers! But when I came to return them, the cashier didn't believe me. Not only that they sold me used goods, they doubted my integrity.
Another time I had an old sweater on coming out of the dressing room, and the attendant kept asking me whether that was my own sweater. I almost took it off to show her the label, which ross certainly doesnt sell, had she not been an elderly lady.
Anyway, i'm not sure why the store treats its customers like criminal suspect, but I will take my money and spend it elsewhere.
The store is ross on hawaii kai.
