Roses Discount Store Over pricing

On the store shelf, Boston Baked Beans were priced at $1.19, however, I was charged $1.25 each, and I purchased 4 pkgs.

A teddy bear that I purchased had a sticker on it for $5.99, however, the cashier removed the sticker and rang up the bar code. I did not realize this (because she was such a pleasant lady) until I got home and was checking my receipt. I know $1.24 plus tax doesn't sound like a lot to you, but it is to me if this type error is repeated time and time again.

My sisters were shopping with me. One bought divided, styrofoam plates. The shelf had them for $1.50. The lady charged $1.99. Another sister was with us and she was probably over-charged for something too. She is trying to find her receipt. She knows the amount sounded too high for the items that she bought.

We would have gone back and spoken with the lady, but we had shopped for over 2 hours and were simply too tired. (Our ages range from 70~85.)

Desired outcome: Better training for the employees. If a shelf price is one thing, honor it. If there is a sticker on an item, key it in manually. Don't pull it off and key in the bar code. Yes, I guess an apology from Corporate would be nice.

Roses Discount Store Mobility wheelchair

I shop at your stores all the time. On June 6 2023 I seen some disabled and elderly people coming into the store and they wanted to shop. But had to turn around and leave because none of your stores have mobility wheelchair in them. Can you please explain to us why these people aren't able to shop in your stores. I really don't think it's fair to them.

Roses Discount Store Incorrect price on items

I went to the Roses store on May 16,2023, I saw some veggie plants on the side wall with a sign in plain view with $1.99 directly in front of them I was told no matter the plant they were all the same price, I go in and pay for them, leave the store only to find I had paid $5.49 a piece, I returned to the store to discuss this matter and I was told they were $5.49 I told them the sign had $1.99 in front of them , this wanna be manager told me sorry but that is what the price was if I wanted my money back I would have to return the plants, not good business I will not step foot back in that nasty unorganized place AGAIN. Don’t waste your time or money , their stuff has no quality .

Roses Discount Store Wrongly accused

On today 04/07/2023 at approximately 3:00pm CST, I checked out at our local Roses in Bowling Green, Ky. I had purchased Easter Candy and a wallet for my oldest daughters basket, upon exiting the store the alarm went off, I stopped gave the cashier who rang me up my bag and receipt. She checked my receipt and bag and nothing. I placed the purchased wallet in my purse and she had me open my purse, which I did without question and grabbed the wallet out, knowing she was the cashier that rang me up, however apparently she didn’t ring the wallet up and I’m assuming so she wouldn’t get in trouble looked at me and said, “so your stealing?” In which I replied no. She gave me my stuff and I went to leave and again the alarm sounded. She then grabbed my purse, which she had already gone through and took out merchandise that I had purchased at a different store, which was sausage and a keychain and she said that I did steal it from there. If that were the case why didn’t she take it the first time she went through my purse? And instead of just opening my purse and checking she grabbed my purse dumped it inside of a cart, in front of several other customers and when she saw all eyes on me, she got louder when she was talking to me. As if she was trying to embarrass me. Not to mention my Pastors wife was one that was in line at the time. She then took all the merchandise, even the merchandise I paid for and the merchandise I purchased from a total different store and told me to leave and to never come back and not to let her see me in the store ever again. I don’t have a receipt with her name on it, because she kept it, I don’t have the money that I did spend there and I don’t have the merchandise I bought at another store and she said she was keeping it because I stole which is completely false. I put the wallet on the counter with the Easter items I purchased and she didn’t ring it up. It was like she was trying to set me up. I then called the store to speak to the manager and I guess the cashier had told her the exact opposite of what happened and the manager called me a liar. So I’m attempting to rectify this situation here and if that doesn’t take place then I will be contacting a lawyer and taking this to court because #1) I didn’t steal and was wrongfully accused and #2) she went through my purse twice the first time took out the wallet that I placed in my purse after she “rang” it up and then #3) took my purse from me, dumped it and then made a scene in front of everyone, I assume to make herself look good considering she made the mistake of not ringing up the merchandise and was afraid to get into trouble herself. This is very bad customer service and even if I had of stolen, to interrogate me right there in front of God and every one, even my Pastors wife is bad customer service. I have no reason to steal from anyone. I learned that lesson long ago and to be accused and done the way that I was done today was belittling and insulting. And caused uncalled for harm to me by it being done in front of my church family. I hope that this is taken care of appropriately and look forward to hearing back from you very soon. I am a single mom and had spent the last 40.00 I had in this store to purchase Easter items for my children that will now have nothing because of her bad customer service and not wanting her to take accountability of her own actions.

Desired outcome: I’d like a full refund and compensation for the bad behavior of this cashier. I am willing to handle this outside of court but if it doesn’t happen I will seek legal advice and proceed with court proceedings.

Roses Discount Store Indifference of store manager based on customer injury.

On Saturday April 1, 2023 I shopped at Roses and in attempt to pick up a candle my hand came away with a piece of glass stuck in my finger. Fortunately my son was with me and dislodged the glass so I didn't have to let go my cane to do so. The cut was minor and only bled a little. For this reason I chose not to file an incident report but just report to the store manager so that no one else would get injured. I spoke to a cashier who called for a manager and she asked me what would I like to do. I told her a little discount on my order would be nice. Upon speaking to the manager, who was in another part of the store she told me he couldn't do that but leave my number and he would call me. He never came to the front of the store to ensure I was okay nor has he called me. Putting aside any discount he may have offered, an apology might have been nice. The incident occurred around 3 pm eastern standard time.

Desired outcome: It would be nice to still receive some sort of compensation for my troubles along with an apology.

Roses Discount Store Assistant Manager Charlie at store #611 in Lake City SC

On 3/22/2023 at 1:08 pm my 77 year old mother went to Roses located on 230 Kelly Street in Lake City, South Carolina and purchased a rug. She was assisted by a very nice employee in the rug area getting the rug in her cart and asked if there would be anyone that could assist her in putting it in her car. She said, Yes someone should be able to assist her. When she approach the counter and purchased the rug which was $29.15 and asked if someone could assist her with getting the rug in her car. Charlie the assistant manager told her that, "No." My mother said that a young lady who assist her in the back said, that someone would be able to help. Charlie got loud and said, I am not dealing with this today and I don't know why she told you that because there are no men in the store to help her." I don't have time for this today.

My mother requested a refund and he continued ranting about the rug. He threw her refund on the counter and not in her hand. There was another young lady at the register who picked up the receipt and change and placed it in her hand. When you look at her receipt it states that she changed her mind for the reason for the return. The reason was he was rude and disrespectful. She shops at that store all the time and has wittness him doing the same to other customers. Today she happen to be the victim of his unprofessional and rude behavior.

Desired outcome: Charlie is rude and disrespectful to customers in the store. We live in a small town and upon futher investigation he was either fired or released because of his behavior. He needs to apologize.

Roses Discount Store Chico sticks candy

I bought 2 bags of candy @ $3.99 each at roses in Jackson, Ms at store #701, on 3/06/23, they are hard as rocks and the expiration date is 4/23. I don’t know what is wrong but I called the store in Vicksburg, Ms where I live and was told I couldn’t return them there. I’m stuck with two bags of useless candy. I know it’s not a lot but I’m a senior citizen on a fixed income and every dollar counts.

Roses Discount Store False pricing and extreme rudeness from the store manager

I went to the Rose's store in Hartsville, SC, on March 5 at 3:30 pm.I do not have a register slip since I did not make a purchase. I proceeded to find throw pillows in a wire bin that had a tag marked $4.99. This bin was in the back of the store. I found 6 pillows and proceeded to the front of the store where I found another bin right in front of the cashier which was clearly marked asked $4.99. I took 3 more pillows and went to pay. The pillows started ringing up at $7.99 and I told the cashier that this was not correct. The female manager was walking by and she asked her about the price difference. She gave a quick answer "the pillows are $7.99 and kept walking." I told the cashier to look at the bin where I had just taken the pillows and she politely agreed that it was clearly marked $4.99. I asked her to call the manager over so I could show her this price tag. She said "I will call her over but she won't change her mind!" I waited another 5 minutes and the manager walked by us very quickly and the whole time was shouting "The pillows are $7.99!" She did not stop to discuss it or listen to me at all. I tried to tell her that I wasn't asking her to change the price but to change the tag on the bins so others wouldn't be mislead. She just kept walking and repeating they are $7.99!

I could see the cashier felt badly and I said no more, however I was furious and my granddaughters who were with me were also in disbelief at this managers extreme rudeness and failure to handle the situation in a civil manner. I was not rude nor did I raise my voice however I was not given the respect that a customer deserves. I was a Customer Service Manager for many years and this is unacceptable behavior. Due to this rudeness and also the incorrect marking of prices on displays, I will never return to Rose's again and neither will my family.

Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response and explanation for the behavior of that manager. I would also like to know how a store can have one price on 2 bins but charge a higher price for the items?

Store # 584 Phenix City , ALA

There was bras & panties strolled all out in front of the store , right in front of the door, with tags yet on them . Everyone walked in was telling the cashier about it. Her words were " they are not ours ..I don't know where that came from " .( Never mind that they are the ONLY retail store in the area ) . I personally told her that some lady was waiting on her ride so that she could get them . Her words were ,

" well if she want something that's been out there for a while , that's on her " . She did absolutely nothing .

( She should have at least went and got the manager if the manager didn't already know ).

And when I approached the counter , I had 2 tops that didn't have a tag but came from off of the 2.50-3.50 rack, as all of my other purchases, she would not sell them to me . The customer behind me said " you just lost a sell " I told him that they are going to lose a lot of sales with her attitude and the way she handled the situation earlier .

She even told a customer that she could not help her right now because she was the only one in the store because everyone else was out

" doing the truck " .

She, Latoya , has a bad attitude and showed that she cares nothing about that store ...period !

I honestly was going to ask for my money back but decided not to...but I will Never deal with that cashier ever again !

Roses Discount Store Manager at a Rose's store in Dunn, NC

I drove about 30 minutes to a local Rose's in Dunn, NC looking for a reclining sofa that was advertised on the website. Basically I wanted to physically sit down on that sofa to see if I wanted to purchase it. I walked to the furniture department and saw no one at the time so I went back towards the front and saw an individual who was later identified as the store manager and asked her very nicely could I get someone in the furniture department and she immediately caught an attitude and stated "They should be back there" and I looked at her hoping she would page the staff back there and when she made no attempt to do so I started to walk back to the furniture area and overheard her say very nasty to another customer who was nearby "that ain't my department, I don't know why he is asking me".

So I eventually went to the warehouse doors and got the attention of the employees that I needed to see. While doing business with a Ms. Michelle the manager came back through and I stated to her "thanks for not helping me" she got really nasty after I said that and started say something under her breath to me to me which actually while reading her lips it appeared to me that she actually used a racial slur while she was walking with another young lady who had black hair. I asked her what did she just say to me but she kept walking while looking back angrily towards me and at that point I was kind of getting upset at her for saying something racial so I then stated "you can go now because I refuse to deal with nasty employees no matter what their status. I asked someone in the store what her name was and was told it was a store manager named Andrea Hudson. I did spend 1,200 dollar with the furniture person named Michelle Oates and she was very apologetic and helpful. In fact if it was not for her I would have walked out never to visit the Dunn, NC store ever again in my lifetime.

Desired outcome: Obviously it is too late to retrain this individual so my suggestion would be immediate termination or demotion. I will take this complaint as far as I can take it until I get the desired action.

Roses Discount Store Customer service

Some of Roses white cashiers are racist and discriminant against black and brown and Asian customer. While shopping one day and upon checking out, I informed the cashier that there was a safety tag super tag attached to clothing. She acknowledged that she saw it and would remove it however, when I arrived home, I was stuck removing items from the bag. She removed the part that would not cause harm and dropped the sharp dangerous part in the bag. I was injured bad enough to where blood was drawn, because she deliberately dropped the sharp part in the bag. There is no way she forgot it. If a toddler or child would have reached inside the bag they would have put the sharp piece in their mouth, and probably died. I know it was done deliberately because I reminded her to remove it and reminded her how dangerous they would be in the wrong hands. I should have never been injured by the pin that she neglected to remove. She had an evil smirk on her face when I reminded her to remove the super tag and after I checked out, and when my hand was injured I realized what her evil smirk was about. I am thinking about filing a complaint wit EEOC because I do not want this to happened to anyone else especially a child.

Desired outcome: I was told I would be compensated for my injury and never was.

Roses Discount Store Customer service

Roses Store, Salisbury, Md on 1/15/2023, 11:05 AM. Went to return one piece of luggage that was purchased December 16, 2022. The cashier who identified herself as the manager was very rude and argumentative. She asked for the card that I purchase the one piece of luggage with, tag was still attached and the receipt was presented. She stated the money had to be returned to the credit card I used which I didn’t have at the time. I drove 62 miles one way to return the item to be told I would have to return with the card. When asked if it could be returned to another Roses she continued her rude, unprofessional behavior as she continued to be raise her voice concerning the return must be accompanied with the card. This doesn’t state it in the receipt just that it needs to be returned within 30 days. I asked if she could just return it to the card without it being present and she said no. It seems that with technological advancements this store would be able to perform such transactions and it would hire employees that have better attitudes and be more customer oriented. I will reach out to corporate again concerning this matter and their manager on duty today.

Desired outcome: To be able to return the luggage without conflict. To be reimbursed for the gas I spent coming and returning a 2nd time which will total 124 miles.

Roses Discount Store Refund of clothes

Today, January 5th, 2023 round 12:30 I went to try to return some clothes that my daughter had gotten on Christmas as a gift. I didn't have the receipt which I told the employee once I handed her the bag. So she then called her manager and told I also told him. They told me that they couldn't do the return cause I didn't have the receipt and I asked couldn't they put the money on a gift card like other retail stores do and they said no. That I could go back and look for some more clothes which I told them I didn't have time and that they really didn't carry her size. So the employee caught an attitude with me and calling me names like the b word and told me to go home and threw the bag of clothes out in the parking lot in the process. She did all of this in front of her manager. The same employee was also have was rude to other customers while I was in there waiting. Since this has happened I will not be returning to that store. I really don't like shopping there.

Desired outcome: I would like an apology and also I would liked to have the money on a gift card so I could give it to someone else. I would also like that employee to be fired!

Roses Discount Store Sales Clerk

There was a clearence rack in womens clothing that had a few swimsuits on it. They were clearence priced for $5.00 to $10.00. I picked out a 5.00 one. When I got to register I realized the tag was gone. I told the gentlemen the price and he turns to the lady at the other register and asked her if they were on clearence for this price. She said:" Well no . They are originally 39.99 on sale for 15.00." I told her there was none marked 15. They were all 5 and 10 dollars. She said not without a tag and she didn't have time to go check. Rolled her eyes and turned back to her register. Needless to say i didnot but the item. I have never been treated with such disrespect by any employee at any establishment. She more or less called me a liar and dismissed me. I love your stores and do shop there quite often but I will not be going back after being treated this way.

Roses Discount Store Cargo pants for 12.99

On Dec 23, 2022, I bought a pair of pants at Roses in Covington Georgia. I didn’t notice that where they place the tags, the waistband had ripped. When I noticed the rip I tried to take them back to swap out (Dec 30). The tags are still on the pants and they have never been worn or washed. The manager said she could not take them back because she was sure they weren’t ripped when I bought them. I took the pants back and told her I would donate them. Roses just lost around 500.00 dollar per month customer. I buy all my sheets and hold products from this store as well as other things. Keep you shedded clothing and I will go spend my money elsewhere. This store is an utter disgrace to the community in my humble opinion. It’s always nasty and the prices ring up different from what the price tag says.

Desired outcome: Never shopping any Roses again.

Roses Discount Store A cashier a young African American Women

Well I was visiting your store on a Friday evening and there was a cashier upset because she could not get the register tape in the register so she threw the roll of tape and I said what if you had of hit someone and there would have been a law suit and she said in a smart way I looked before I threw it and I said that was not professional of you and left out of the store

Roses Discount Store Dove soap bar price

On Dec 14 at 1145 am I was in the whiteville nc store shopping. There were two displays for Dove soap price handwritten 2/1$ great deal. I put 20 bars in my cart. When I got to register cashier said 1$ a piece. I said no the price on both displays is 2 for 1$ or 50c a piece. She said oh that's wrong. Another lady came to front and pulled both signs down off display and went to the back. I said would you honor the price because that's what I saw it's in the front as soon as you walk in. She said nothing I can do about it. I shop at this store every senior day which is Wednesday. The soap was going to be part of stocking stuffers for Christmas. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied. What happened to customer service?

Desired outcome: Honor the initial price of the Dove soap 2 for 1$. I had 20 bars.

Roses Discount Store Over working one employee, one register open

On 11/19/22 approximately 2:30pm I walked into the store their was a long line and one cashier. I did my shopping went ro the register only to be in a long line. It was at least 6-8 employees in the store, one employee finally comes and help check out maybe 2 customers and went back to the floor. One of the managers went and stand up behind reg.1 for a min. Or 2 and then walked out the store. The cashier name was Sandra. She did an awesome job, she was very polite and apologized to the customers for the wait. There is no reason to have only 1 register open being busy and especially this time of year.

Roses Discount Store Customer service

This happened at roses express memorial Ave on 11-2-22, a lady had her huge dog in the store without a leash in the store, then at checkout counter she was in front of me her dog charged towards me, I panic and addressed the lady, she turned hostile and arguing with me, this dog caused panic attack in me. I was horrified this dog was gone attack me, her dog was all on the food isle and just scaring me to approach the front counter, I should not be this terrified in a store I frequent along. The lady was loud and aggressive defensive about her dog

Desired outcome: Panic attacks, I was horrified this dog was gone attack me
