Midland Marketing Complaints & Reviews

Midland Marketing — Pay Day Loans

I have received calls from two people stating that I have a suit pending against me. They have left a phone number of [protected]. Each time I have called there has been no answer.

I've received calls from a friend and my sister who I put down as references for a loan. My sister said they called her trying to get my phone number.

My friend said the same thing. If I had put them down as references, wouldn't it make sense that I would have put my own phone number and address down? But the fact is that I have not accepted any loans on line and have paid all of the loans I have taken from Pay Day Loan Offices in the area.

I would appreciate any information about this bogis operation. I believe it is a scam.

Any one else out there with the same situation?

I myself just received several calls from them today as they were continuously harassing me at work, even after several times of telling them not to contact me at my place of business. I was contacted by both "Officer Robert Wood" and "Officer Greener" who attempted to read me my rights over the phone and try and tell me I need a lawyer but I could settle out of court if I wished. At first I thought it may be legit as I had fallen on some hard times and had taken out a payday loan, but was a little skeptical as to why an "officer" would be calling me and not a lawyer or the collection agency themselves. When I told him I would need to call him back, he called an hour later stating I said I would call him back and I didn't. I proceeded to tell him that I was at work and could not talk and I wanted to verify his claims first. He kept asking to speak w/my Manager which I told him was illegal that he could not speak to anyone else about my personal business regarding this loan and he told me that he would get me fired and tell my boss he had crazy people working for him. He eventually got through to my boss and told him that if I didn't get this settled, he would issue a warrant for my arrest along with my boss as I supposedly put him down as a reference. (How they can do this when I am in TX and they are in FL, I don't know). My boss and I called him back and when I asked for some kind of proof he said he could e-mail it to me, he wouldn't mail it as he stated it was a time sensitive matter. He then stated I needed to fax a letter with my debit card info and SS # and authorization to debit my account for what I owed, but when I asked for a number for the company I was sending this to so I could speak to someone, he said he was not authorized to give that number out. When my boss pushed him a little, he said he would give me the number when he e-mailed the "proof" which he did not provide after all. ALso, once I received the e-mail it was from an [email protected] (a very generic e-mail) and there was no signature on the bottom or contact number, name, anything. Just a copy of the supposed invoice and what my authorization letter needed to state. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM-DO NOT GIVE THEM ONE RED CENT!!!

received a phone call from a man who said his name was robert wood, from the law and investigation department. he called my employment 1-22-10 at 6:30pm and asked for me. lots of coworkers were around, so i told him i would take a message and give it to Kim (could not talk on phone, so had to do that). he proceeded to state that Kim commited a fraud against us national bank. the number he left was [protected]. i called the number over the weekend and a gentleman that sounded exactly like this robert answered and said no one in the office and to call back monday. monday 1-25-10 at 8:31, this man called me from a phone number of [protected], and it said it was an invalid number.and stated that i had a loan with Midland Marketing that i did not pay and they were investigating and had a lawsuit/charges unless i paid him this money. I did have 2 loans back in late 2008 and thought they were paid. neither were the amount this guy said of $510.00. i looked on the internet for midland marketing and came across a website of www.800notes.com and typed in his phone number of [protected] and lots of complaints. Midland Marketing — Pay Day Loans is exactly where i found out someone else had gotten calls from this number with different people/stories. within seconds of telling this man that i need/want proof, he stated he would have to call midland marketing this afternoon and see if they would send me something. no sooner that i pushed the button to hang up, an invoice came across my email. looks fishy to me and i do not want to give money to someone scamming me, but if it is legitimate, want to take care of this. i kept asking "robert wood" for the name of his company since he said he was not employed by midland marketing. he just kept telling me law and investigation department, he gave me an address o f 9906 glades road, boca raton, fl 33432. he is claiming to be an officer investigating this for this supposed company in pittsburgh, pa.

I also received a call from a man named Officer Mark Greeno, so he say. Stating I owe some money to Midland Marketing. I ask for Midland Marketing contact info and he wouldn't give it to me because he said that they are rude. Weird! Also, I ask him to send me some proof on what he was talking about and he did in matter of seconds through email. It sounded very suspicious and he knew I was getting suspicious about the whole matter; so therefore he tried to rush me off the phone when I started to investigate his purpose. He said he was a representative for Midland Marketing law enforcement office and he ask me to write a letter stating it was ok to take money out my account. What legit company does that?
