Melting Pot Complaints & Reviews

Melting PotAwful experience

My daughter went to melting pot with friends for dinner... the steamer had been put on as they were seated and in a matter of minutes..she received a 4 inch long scalding burn on her arm..though the women were told to be careful, they were not told that the steam is immediate!!. they gave her ice and cream to put on it... nothing else...the burn still got infected and she now has a large scar on her arm.. I called to and ttell the manager what had occurred. They sent her a $25 gift certificate... we should have sued instead...

Melting PotDrunk driver/bully

One of the managers at the Melting Pot, Benjamin Dern, frequently drinks on the job and will drive home drunk. Sometimes something will happen to him on the drive home, such as running into a fence, and will brag about how he got away and avoided the police the next day to the workers. He has also been seen literally bouncing off the walls with the guests around. Several complaints have been filed against him but because he brings in such good numbers at the restaurant, the owners often turn a blind ear to them.

He has also been known to harass the workers. One event that occurred was there was an 18-year-old high school boy who worked there. Benjamin harassed him and even went so far as to fill his cup of water over the bar with vodka and Tabasco sauce. He has driven many workers away with his words and actions. Another event that occurred recently was, he has reduced a worker to only working one day a week when the worker stood up to him and told him that "I am a good server". The server had accidentally dropped a plate and Benjamin yelled at him for it. He has threatened the server several times with being fired.
