Meet Joe and Daiana DiRuscio
Friends call me last night and told me about the posts. It couldn’t happen to a nicer couple. Joe and Daiana are not what there appear to be. I worked for Joe off and on for 4 years. I would help him install tint and safety films. Customers were being ripped off all the time. Joe would tell me to be quiet and not say anything. Most of Joe’s tint was coming from China. He did have some Madico films mostly 4 mils and he bought some tint from a guy in Toronto that was going out of business. Joe liked Madico safety films cause they were cheap and 4mil was easy to put up.
I know this Mohammed client in the pervious posts, I remember him well. He really is a nice guy. Joe charged this guy a lot for his store. It was done with Madico’s 4mil safety film. I am sure Joe sold him on Hanita Tek Safety Zone 12 mil. Joe would show customers video’s from a Israeli company called Al-Sorag and tell them that they are buying a 12 mil and then laugh at them because he would have me install a 4mil. Only some jobs I would have to install a 12mil and it was a pig to hang. Its hard work and took a long time to do. I’d say 95% of the work was done with 4mil. Daiana is a good sales woman, she knew how to convince people to buy tint to say on heating and how to protect their homes and stores. Daiana can talk and she is convincing. Joe and Daiana make a good team.
Joe and Diana deserve to be exposed. They have made a lot of money ripping people off and laughing at them. I quit Joe about a year ago when it became ridiculous at just how wacked he and his wife were. I had problems with CRA because Joe was paying me under the table. He said he had to because times were tough. Ya, right. Looking at the posts on Rip-off, Joe deserves it. Oh, Joe, if you read this, you still owe me for the location off of Keel. It’s not a lot of money, $310.00 and it’s been almost a year, when can you pay it? I’ll take monthly payments if that makes it easier.
To Joe i say this: As he thinks in his heart, so he is.
Jewish Proverb
To his wife Daiana I say this: First mend yourself, and then mend others.

Oh, one last thing here is the place where Joe got his cheap window tint from: JUTU International Ltd. He would make fun of the name JUTU because he said he was JU-ing his clients as if he was making fun of Jews. I guess Joe didn’t think that with my first name being Saul that I am a Jew. No matter Joe, what goes around comes around.

Bait and switch
For some time I have been considering having the windows in my business covered with a safety film to protect against theft and losing sensitive files I have in my office. I was warned by many people to do my research as I was told that the window film industry in Toronto is filled with some pretty slippery characters. I spoke to several companies and sure enough, the sales people all seemed quite unprofessional and willing to say anything to get the sale and they pretty much all used high pressure tactics.
I decided to use Glass Protection Solutions after meeting them. They seemed the most professional of the lot (which is not saying much) but their product seemed good and the salesman (Tony Davis) was reasonably knowledgeable.
I specifically ordered their highest end product which they told me was a 12 mil safety film. I was a little confused by the measurement and I thought 12 mil was actually 12 milimeters. I should have done my research more thoroughly.
When they did the installation, I thought the film they were applying seemed really thin and I asked them about this. It was then that they told me that 12 mil is actually 12/1, 000's of an inch and not 12 mm. I was confused but didn't question it much further even though Tony told me during his sales call that the film would actually be about half the thickness of a credit card. The stuff they were putting on was like tissue paper.
It was only later while discussing this with a friend that we looked into it further. My friend brought over a micrometer and sure enough, what they actually applied was 4 mil thick (4 / 1, 000's of an inch) fully one third the thickness of the film I thought I was buying.
I called Tony and then the company owner Joe DiRuscio. They told me it was a mistake and they would fix it. None of my further calls to have the "mistake" fixed were returned.
I have since learned that this is a quite common scam in the industry. They sell one thing and then install another. I guess most people don't really check all that well and after all, who has a micrometer to measure these things at the time the installation is being done?
Buyer beware when dealing with Glass Protection Solutions and others in this industry.

I had the same thing happen when I used their service. The tint turned purple like or a dark blue. No one came back to check, they said that it would clear up in 30 days. That was 4 months ago. I had to pay cash when they did the job, and I was told my recipte with my warranty would be sent from the office and that never came.
In my opinion these guys just wanted my money and don't give a damn about the client. Well, I may have been burned, but this is my pound of flesh. Don't do business with GLASS Protection solutions!
