CreditReport.com Unauthorized credit card charges

I have been charged with () amounts of 39.94 on 04/17/2023 I have tried calling also mailed a complaint just after that and no one seems to know anything about it at all. They refused to allow me to talk to a supervisor and when I did they would hang up the phone and now the number is no longer in use. The only charges are for $7.75 for my monthly charge to my card is to the credit card people only since I have not used this card in several months.

Desired outcome: I would like to have my credit card credited back for the charges and to make sure they do not authorized anymore charges.

CreditReport.com I am still out $19.99!

I signed up for a "free credit check" so I could complete a job application. A month later I noticed a charge from CreditReport.com for $19.99 on my bank statement and called to have my account deleted. I noticed the charge again the next month and called customer service again. They had no record of my original call and after arguing about the charges, the representative said that he could only refund 1 month's charge of $19.99. I am still out $19.99!

I have been billed for months now for a membership to a credit reporting website that says I do not exits. "No record of this user". When I called to cancel I was given many excuses as to how I am in the wrong, how I may have typed it in wrong, or I got the wrong website, etc etc etc. I was then told "I dont have authority to reimburse you". I was put on hold for 5 minutes only to be told they could refund me ONE month.

I subscribed to their 9-day free trial offer on 1/6/2011 at about 6.30pm. I called on 1/15 to cancel. I then find that they charged my creditcard for $19.95 on 1/15. I called today (1/19) and was told that it was indeed a 9-day free trial and that the free-trial ended on 1/14. CSR stuck to their T&C that the free trial's 1st day started on 1/6. I may have to file a dispute with my bank over this, even if it is only $19.95.

I ordered my credit score from them. I've received my FICO score from many other credit report sites before. This one would not give me my score. I called them. It seems they do their own calculation, rather than using the official FICO score, and their system wasn't working. I asked for a refund. They refused. The recorded conversation with their customer service is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwsnnE7xxKk

I wish to cancel my free trial service before being charged. I do not need this service any longer. There is no service personnel available to confirm this transaction. If my card is chargde ( 2 separate trasactions) I fully expect reimbursement. I will follow up via phone, although none is listed on your website.

This company is charging glass artists for credit reports we never ordered. Their charges have just been showing up on our credit card accounts. These are unauthorized charges.

No details on how to cancel order. Contact information (http://www.creditreport.com/contact_us.asp) only leads to another charge on your credit card.

I looked at their site and while going over my on line statement for my checking account noticed a charge of $14.95. Now I don't know for sure how long this has been going on, I just want it to stop now. These kind of companies should be barred from ever using the internet as they prey on folks that were just looking and besides the site said Free but then turned around and charged me at least, $14.95.

CreditReport.com Fraud

To Whom it may concern:

The credit report website advertises a free credit report for up to 7 days but once you call to cancel at the phone no. given [protected] a recorded message comes on the line to say that we are experiencing technical difficulties with this site and to please call back later when we're able to service you better. I've been trying to contact them at the above phone number for 3 days and keep getting that same recorded message.

Sincerely,
Jean Stevens

CreditReport.com scam fraud

I ordered the free credit report and let me tell you it is not FREE. I just had the worst experience ever with their company. It is a huge scam. The free trial is for credit monitoring (what does that mean) and for your credit scores. Ii was charged twice 29.95 because i they said that i looked at my credit scores and this is the reason i was charged. SO DO NOT USE CREDIT REPORT>COM DO GET YOUR CREDIT SCORES. This is a huge scam and I wish no one goes through what i just went through when i spoke to there customer service representatives, i spoke to a Heather at ext 636 and Chainti exr 634.

We were looking for a new place to live and decided to try FREE Credit Report and I followed all the rules and I have asked them to stop charging me and I want the amounts credited back to my acct because every 2 or 3 days there is another charge! When I called today to complain and ask for them to credit my account back they just wanted more info because it was them as per what they said. The phone # is [protected] and again I called and complained after being assured there would be no more charges and I look and there is another charge? I can not afford this. I am on SSI Disability so I don't have the funds to keep having this deducted from my bank.

Used website to get a credit score agreed to pay $1.00, although it claimed to be free but figured what's a dollar. Noticed on my bank account they took out 14.95 on the 26th of the month. I did not authorize further charges on my card.

Credit report.com has charged my debit card three times in one month. Looking at my bank statement for June, credit report . com has charged for $29.95 on 6/07. On 6/08 I was charged $14.95. Then again on 6/14 I was charged another $14.95. This is bull and I want my money back now!

12/16/09 12/17/09 CREDITREPORT.COM [protected] CA $12.95

Suddenly I had a charge for "CREDITREPORT.COM [protected] CA" on my December 2009 credit card statement. I have never gone on any of these fraudulent sites and to get stiffed for some sort of "free" credit report. I know their game. I called the number [protected] and was on hold for 27 mins. They cannot find an account for me based on my social security number. So I ask for a refund. Couldn't give one if I don't have an account, they say. They told me to take it up with my credit card fraud dept. These people need to be taken down by gov. investigation. How can a company who is to be a watch dog for your credit, fraudulently charge to arbitrary credit card accounts? Speaks volumes what a sham they are.

Edmundo, I signed up for a free 7 day trial with creditreport.com and about 10 days later, I called them and cancelled my membership. Nevertheless, they continued to charge my debit card and there were 3 unauthorized billings for $14.95 for two months after that. However, I called my bank and they have restored the money in my account.

Initially, I called the merchant and asked for a refund for the 3 unauthorized billings. They refused to refund me and said that I actually authroized the billings, which was completely untrue. So, I called my bank''s customer service department to report unauthorized charges on my debit card and to dispute the charges. The bank filed a cliam, asked me about the transactions, contacted the merchant, credited my account for the 3 billings and said they would restore the money from the merchant.
Also, this is a friendly advice, I would not post my credit card information and account number online and would be carefil to use them only for purchases on secure websites or not provide them at all when buying something and use paypal.

I was charged 11.95 for additional monthly service charges to my credit card after ordering a one-time credit report. I called to have them reverse charges but they would not. They said in fine print, that once you order the report you are automatically signed up for a 30 day free trial, and if you don't cancel the service you will be charged monthly. Of course the person on the phone was hard to understand because they probably resource their reps out of the US. DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE! IT'S HORRIBLE. Use Annualreport.com, which uses the 3 nationwide companies.

Very angry about this. I checked my debit card balance a couple days ago to find a $14.95 charge from CREDITREPORT.COM. I NEVER signed up on this website, I did sign up on FREECREDITREPORT.COM a month ago or so, but cancelled after the free trial was up, and haven't had a charge from them at all. I e-mail the CREDITREPORT.COM and told them what was going on only to tell me to call the Support Line during business hours. This is absolutely ridiculous! Is there a way to get refunded? I will call the number with a piece of my mind, but what should I expect? Thank you for any help!

In a period of ten days I have been charged for three months of service. I've made numerous attempts to cancel service and have been led in a circle each time. They tell me account is cancelled but refuse to send confirmation and they continue billing charges. Once they have your credit card number, Look Out.

I found a charge on my credit card statement for creditreport.com. I use a service that is billed on a different card so I knew the charge was fraudulent. I called the phone number listed on the credit card statement.

I was asked for my cc#, my name, my birth date, the last four of my social security number. I protested giving them this information. I was treated very rudely by the person answering the phone, and told "If you call your credit card company, they are going to have you call back to talk to me. You'll have to give me the information then. I need the information to be sure that you were scammed."

I expressed that I was calling my credit card company to cancel the number instead. "Canceling the card will not make a difference, we can still continue to charge the card the monthly fee of 19.95 since it was authorized."

I finally gave him the last four digits of my SS#. I was told "Yep, that's not the last four listed, it's fraud. I'll transfer you to the fraud department." (What if it HAD been the correct last four digits, would they have refused to cancel?) I got ahold of the person at the fraud department. She demanded an email address to "verify who I was".

I told her I did not sign up, I did not GIVE you my email address, I use several email addresses, several that are ONLY for companies that will generate future spam, I can't VERIFY the email address you have on file as I did not even GIVE it to you in the first place. She got nasty. "If you don't give me an email address, I can't continue this claim."

I rattled off a random spam catching email for her, she was happy. She said "This was fraud, not your ss# listed." (Duh, thanks, I knew I had not signed up.) I asked her "So basically, someone can sign up using my name, cc# and THEIR ss# and get a report?" She replied, "Oh, it looks as if they never even generated a report."

Great, so someone logged on the website, gave my name and cc#, theirs or a bogus ss#, then logged off, leaving ME charged over $65 in fees, that were set to continue until I called to cancel the subscription. It makes me wonder if CreditReport.com has people stealing CC#'s for them. Just think how much money they can make before a person realizes it. Be warned.

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, because they charged me two times $14.95 and I never signed up for their website. They claim I signed up online for a free trial and did not cancel, which is not true. I will also call my bank to ask them to remove the unauthorized billings.

I have exactly the same issue, only I signed up on FreeCreditScore.com and cancelled after the free trial. However, I got two $14.95 billings by CreditReport.com on my debit card and I do not think I ever signed up with their website. They seem to be affiliated with FreeCreditScore.com and claim I signed for their website online, which I am sure I did not, because I would keep a record for myself so as to call them later and cancel. I reported CreditReport.com to Better Business Bureau today and will be waiting for a response. In the meantime, I will call my bank first thing on Monday and ask them to remove unauthorized charges.

I agree with the comment to close down the card since once the predatory thing happens the company will do nothing to stop it. Business in America has really changed, and we no longer have companies that we can trust. Good companies are still out there yet they are now are dying institutions. Big companies are cannibalizing the smaller companies to quench its GREEDINESS. Laws are in place that allows criminal activity in the public domain – the result of picking the wrong people to go to Washington. The people we elect pass the unfair laws we are now suffering with – so voting is a part of making this right. This is neither a Democrat nor Republican issue – it is a voter issue. Be wary of anything that has the word credit attached. I had a similar experience with Global Fit, where as a part of the company I used this business to give me a discount. They made everything clear how to get them to close the account down and when I did all the actions they said to do they did not close the account down. I tried everything, and wound up contacting the head of HR for a national company to finally get them to close the account down. It was also suggested that I close the credit card account down that they were attached to which I did. So after months of taking payments I finally was able to stop the process. They owed me money and they agreed to pay me back and guess how they wanted to pay me? That's right, with my new credit card so they can attach themselves to my account once again. I responded, "Send a check."

Ditto on this complaint! I am filing an official complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, but have to ask: does anyone legislate this type of activity? Are any bills being sponsored to our House of Representatives or Senate to curtail this activity, and get this types of organizations under control? I'd like to know, as I have full documentation on a case where this company ignores requests to cancels...and keeps on charging!

It clearly states in order to get the "free" credit report that you must enroll in the credit protection program. You are allowed 1 free report per year. Next time Google up free credit reports and it will take you to a site that is actually free... but only 1 time per year!

How often do we not read the terms & conditions of apps we download? Most of us don't, we just click the boxes to get on with what we're doing, right? On the creditreport.com site, they post in 2 different places the email address of the ONLY site to go to where you can get a credit report that is absolutely free with no strings attached. (www.annualcreditreport.com) Is it that the promise of a free service affects your ability to read? It's posted on the very page you first see with creditreport.com, the ongoing services disclosure. It doesn't look as fancy as the "free credit report" part does but the info is right there. In anyone's past experiences, when did something "free" require you to enter your credit card information? And when entering your credit card #, why wouldn't you read the terms&conditions posted directly uderneath where you entered that #? Weren't you concerned about why you were entering those numbers? This isn't some rinky dink company out to scam people! You get a free report and they get the opportunity to market the credit monitoring service. No one would be billed for anything that they didn't want to be billed for if they did not agree to the terms&conditions. With internet fraud and phishing sites and new identity theft technology, how careless of anyone who enters credit card information on the internet and doesn't read the terms&conditions! If you've had a bad experience with creditreport.com, blame yourself first and then feel lucky that your carelessness didn't get you involved in a phishing site that maxes out your credit or debit card. Be more careful of where and why you're giving your credit card number or any personal information! They make a credit and identity monitoring service for people like you and it's at creditreport.com

CreditReport.com Continual billing even after cx

Made the mistake of ordering a "free" credit report online when I was refinancing in December 08. Rec'd credit report and CANCELLED membership within first 30 days as specified in order to avoid being billed a monthly fee of $12.95. Well, I got billed in January, February and now March after making a phone call each month only to be assured my account was cancelled. Today I finally had to go to the bank to have my account number cx and reissued to avoid being billed by these people again. What a scam!

I have been trying to reomve my credit card from their access but there is no way to remove it. No phone number, physical address or anything. The web address that they give for cancellations routes you back to the original Creditreport.com screen. Thus, there is no way to stop them from charging my credit card although I no longer want nor need their services.

I went to creditreport.com which says that the report is free. However, yesterday on my American Express bill, I was charged $12.95. I simply cannot afford to pray this amount, and I would never have applied for my credit report had I know it would not be free.

I checked out the website in September and never got my credit report. I called the company when I got a charge on my credit card and they told me that they could not give me a credit on my card. I told them that I was not interested in their services. Today, October 16, I received another charge on my credit card. I did not authorize one charge, not tomention TWO! I want a credit back on my card.

I am apartment hunting and wanted to be sure I wouldn't be denied since my identity was recently stolen. I went to a free credit report website and was assured my credit card would not be charged. I didn't even notice until almost a week later that i was charged. Now its up to me to waste time i don't have too deal with disputing a charge.

I paid for a trial w/crediet report.com and to cancel trial within 12 hours. they had charged my credit 31.95 and refused to refund full amount when I cancelled, even after haggling with them for over one hour. Also said that if I did another free trial to prove my point they admitted that I would again be charged a full membership fee. This company needs to be stopped.

Call your credit card company and report your card lost or stolen. They will cancel the card & issue you a new one. Once they cancel the card, the Credit Report Agency can no longer receive payments.

in fine print when you sign up is states that you have it free for 15 days (creditchecktotal.com) and if after 15 days you do not cancel your "free trial membership" you have a charge to the credit card you used to get the "free" report.
BEWARE! I found problems on my credit report and when I called to cancel they said tehy would kindly extend my account for free for 30 days to get the issues at hand disputed and resulted.
But I bet that is the reason you were charged.
Nothing in life is "free"

CreditReport.com False charges, difficulty in removing

This company charged my Visa card for three separate November 19 transactions, at $12.95 apiece, each identified as MNI CREDITRPT MNTR SVC. I had never authorized such a service, and when I telephoned them they said they had no account in my name. They further told me that the three charges, all to my Visa card number, was for three other names (none of them mine). They said to resolve it I would have to call their Fraud Department. When I did that, the person I spoke to said I would have to send him a copy of the credit card statement to prove I was the real card holder. So I did, by e-mail, requesting an immediate reply. I have not yet heard anything from them. The whole process, beginning with the fraudulent charges, makes me very suspicious. I have cancelled the credit card. I wonder just what kind of an operation this place is.

Ron, I had the same problem and I called the customer service department at my bank to report and dispute the unauthorized charges and the bank restored the money in my account. They asked me about the transactions, contacted the merchant and will get the money from them.

CreditReport.com Fraud and scam!

I canceled my free 30 day trial of credit monitoring with creditreport.com within the trial period. Actually, within a day of the trial. I decided to go with truecredit instead. 30 days later, I was charged $11.95. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, it took forever on hold, he was rude and called me a liar. He refused to reverse the charges unless i could prove that i did in fact cancel. He wanted a confirmation number that i was never given. I have my cell phone record of the call which they would not accept.

Beware!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! A major scam operation is an understatement in my opinion. I found that I was being charged a monthly fee when I originally signed up for a one time service, and then had to make three "very long and heated" phone calls to finally have my service cancelled. AGAIN, STAY AWAY, this company uses extremely bad business practices.

Agreed. I found the 1-888 number to call yesterday and the lady cancelled my service after trying to barter with me for a "lower rate". Then, after I thought that I was good to go, they STILL sent me an email asking me to go to their website and login... said I had to hit the "cancel subscription" button to complete my cancellation. What?! You mean to tell me that I called this lady on the phone just to have them add a "feature" to my account so that I CAN cancel?

So I went through the cancel screens and they still try to trick you into "purchasing" partner services... click here, select that, next screen, next screen... but don't close their little ad mechanism; you have to endure it to get to the last screen. It's just not fair to me, as a taxpaying consumer, that a company like this is allowed to operate under deliberately misleading pretenses, in my my USA. Sure, they have the right to market to their hearts' content, but we should have the right to walk away at a moment of our choosing (without having to keep paying them!).

I to recently only wanted to get the free credit check information, I have tried several time to get into the web-site to cancel my membership before the trial period is up but have been unable to do so, I feel that I have no other choice but to contact my State Attorney General and see if something can be done.

If you want to cancel you need to click the link "contact us" right next to "member login" on the home page of the website that click the check down box to get the number to cancel the free trial. It is no scam in step two of getting your report where you put in the credit card info. There is a shopping cart right next to that right underneath the shopping cart it tells you the offer details. Right above the boxes where you put in the credit card # it state "your credit card will not be billed while in trial period" Right on the first page of the website in the big blue box it also state in there and in the terms and conditions that is 4 places to look and you dont have to click to read any of that. You will get a seven or a thirty day free trial of the credit monitoring if you order a 3-in-1 report you will get charged 29.95. There is no canceling in three days to get the 3-in-1 report for free. You get ONE report and ONE score for free. If you stupid mother ###ers would read you might not get charged b/c Im tired of listening to you ### when you call in b/c you was to ignorant to read the website. I have to listen to people cuss me out like I put there information in the computer. If it says FREE but asks you for a credit card it probably isnt free for ever [censored]es

My wife Gloria got a FREE credit report in March 2008. I requested that it not be continued past the free period. I am still being charged $12.95 per month on my Visa account.
I just called their 866 number and cancelled again, today Nov. 7, 2008. I was given a cancellation number and was told that an E-mail was sent to me confirming the cancellation. I have not received the E-mail.

I went on line for a free credit report and have TWO charges on my charge card. They told me I didn't read the entire disclosure agreement. I looked everywhere for charges while on line, and was never alerted I would have to pay 24.95 to see the ratings for all three agencies, then was signed up for monitoring for another 12.95. I'm writing to the better business bureau now. I am really upset.
