Retro Fitness Debit card processing.

Dear Reader: I write, in the hope that you can have someone from Retro fitness call me to speak directly with them. Emails, texts and staff at the local Retro fitness gym have failed to correct the problem of their system failing to process my debit card.

No where else am I experiencing this. Moreover, I want to speak with someone. Not something.

Retro Fitness Workout mats

I am a member at the Wayne,NJ club and I have noticed that the mats are really old and damaged. We shouldn’t have to bring our own mats. the facilty mats make it hard to work out on especially on the knees. I also visited the retro fitness in Fairlawn,NJ today and this facility had much better Mats. Please can there be some new mats sent over the Wayne gym?

Retro Fitness Membership - Reactivation

I am a Retro member. My home gym was Lumberton, NJ. Since Covid, I stop going to that location. I recently went to start back up and found that they were no longer in service. I did not get a message that the Lumberton location would close permanently or that my membership would be cancelled. Not knowing it was cancelled I proceeded to go to my nearest Retro in Bordentown, NJ, that's when I learned that my membership was cancelled. They informed me to call the corporate office at [protected]; however, they are not helpful because they insist they are not affiliated with other Retros and as such I had to call my Home gym to rectify my problem of reactivating my membership and making Bordentown Retro my home gym. According to the Bordentown Retro, CORPORATE can reactivate my membership and make Bordentown my Home gym. Please advise, since I cannot speak to anyone in my former Home gym since they are no longer in business.

Retro Fitness They are trying To scam me !

I have been a Retro Fitness member for over 5 years.
When covid-19 started the gym Locked for over 8 months.
Then suddenly they start churching my credit card for the month they were close. On top of it I got charge for yearly Member ship for the amount of ( over $42 ) Even tho more then half of the year they were closed.
October 2020. I called to find out why am I getting charge for The month the gym was close.
( Costumer service reply multiple times ) "THERE WAS A GLITCH IN THE SYSTEM, I'm not the only one that got charged. the manager on top of it, they assure me I'll get refunded shortly" I never got the refund in the next 2 weeks I called at list 2, 3 times A week asking To talk to the manager.
Every time they too my information to pass to the manager. but the manager never bother to call back.

In the End of November the last time I called to Freeze my account ( because I can't workout in the mask).
"They told me Don't worry your Account account will be frozen for the next 4, 5 months" due to covid-19 there is no charge for that !
( that was in the end of November )

A minute ago ( 4/24/2021 @ 6:33 ) I get a call from my local Retro Fitness Ave Y Brooklyn. The lady tells me they send me to collection !
I asked her how come, She reply She doesn't want to talk to me, passed the phone directly to the manager ! SO DISSRESPECFULL !
( I am speechless waiting to the manager ) . The Manager pick up the phone in a very HEAVY ADDITUDE and in a disrespectful voice ASK ME WHO IS THIS !
( 0% MANNERS, FORGOT TO MENTION HIS NAME, DID'T MANTION THAT HE IS THE MANAGER )
He tells me that he send my account to collection. I am trying to explain him that my account was frozen for the past 5 months. I also Trying to explain him that I haven't gotten a PHONE CALL or EMAIL or MAIL stating that they are sending me to collection!.

YOU CAN NOT SEND WHOEVER YOU WANT TO COLLECTION WITHOU TRYING TO TALK WITH THEM FIRST. IT IS ABSOLUTLY ILLIGAL TO DO SO! ( ESPEACIALLY WHAN MY ACCOUNT WAS FROZEN)

I ask the manager to remove me from collection due to the fact that my account was on frozen mood all this time ( which mean I don't own the gym anything)

He reply " We already send you to collection ". ( he basically intentionally send my account to collection and only after that bother calling )

I asked if there is anything we can do about that. Or if I can get the officinal letter u never bother to send from 4 months ago.

He reply "you will get the latter from the collection company !

THIS TOY manager attentionally scamming the member by sending to collection few months before speaking to the member !

The manager NAME : ADONIS.

YOU CAN NOT SCAM your members like that.
YOU CAN NOT destroy someone else credit history just because you file like !
there are lows you should follow .

This Toy manager deserve to be fired !

Retro Fitness Covid - 19 Infected Staff Member

The Levittown Pa. Retro Fitness location should immediately notify all members of the days and shifts the infected staff member was present at the facility starting March 10, 2021 - March 23, 2021. This will allow each member to decide for themselves whether they had contact and should be tested. Failure to do so may result in additional liability for your franchise.

Retro Fitness cancelation of my account

My friend worked at retro in Paramus in 2018 and I asked her if she could get me a discount on my membership. She was able to get me a couple of months free which I was grateful for. Unfortunately I didn't use the membership as much as I would of thought. Anyways I froze my membership in June of 2019. Before I went away for college. Yet I just received a bill for a lot of money even though I have not been using my account. The people on ABC I have talked to Angel and Maria keep sending me back and forth and haven't explained even what the charge is. All I want is to fully cancel my membership and get my money back but these employees are making it impossible.

10/20/2019. One of the front desk guys, Richardo, lied about not being able to make a protein shake. When I caught him on his lie, he decided it was best to call the police and disbar me from the gym permanently??? I didn't use any foul language. Just called him on his lie and reminded him that one of his co-workers was able to make the shake that I asked for a few days ago.

Retro Fitness retro fitness fraud contract

HI, I had a Health Club membership with Retro Fitness of Hoboken, NJ. I had moved out of the area, and also mailed the manager (Melissa Carroll's) my new leasing contract so that they can terminate my membership and personal training contract. Recently, several months after (Sep 27, 2019) I am getting a call from ABC finance stating I own 1800$ and my contract is still not terminated.
Even after emailing and sending the gym a certified mail of my new lease (for Oklahoma City), no action was taken by them. No phone call, no response to my emails.

Retro Fitness cancellation policy drawn out and not fair to consumer.

List of Issue!
* You can not cancel your Retro gym membership online or on the phone, but yet you can join Retro online or on the phone; ALL cancellation are done in person!

*The annual yearly fee is not renewable; even if you cancel the membership in the same month. Retro Finance pre-charges members (~45.00) a year in advance to have a membership.

*The cancel policy is actual 60 days if you DO NOT cancel before your monthly payment for your membership is due.

*NOT customer friendly!

Take your gym business elsewhere...

I made a cash payment for a 3 month membership that I gave t my 17 year old niece on Friday 9/6/19 because this location's credit/debit card system was not operational at the time...then without warning the location has been closed effective 9/9/19! I called Retro Fitness regarding an overcharging to this location and the representative who's name was "Andrew" pick up the phone talked as like he does not care. I have been with this location for 5 month and they charged me 3 times annual fee. He hang up on me 4 times. I think someone should do something to force them to be responsible for there actions.

Retro Fitness cancelling my membership

I am trying to cancel my membership and retro fitness wants me to pay 75% of the remaining months. I cannot believe a gym would abuse their authority to take advantage of its customers. I will reach to the media to report this matter. I already emailed the human resources in my hospital because I do not to see anyone else waste their money with this gym.

Retro Fitness gym free trial

Hello,
My name is P. Yesterday i went to the new retro fitness on spring blvd. I am new to the area and wanted to try the one day free pass to see which gym i would love to join. I filled out the waiver online for the free one day member ship, as soon as i walked in the gym i showed the staff they said they couldnt honor it. I had to pay 10 dollars for one free guest pass... even after i showed her that online there is a free guess pass for this location as well as the others, she firat told me that the pass wouldnt go through online.. when i showed her she said sorry she cant honor the pass. This was a big inconvenience for me and a waste of time. I also felt that was very unprofessional due to the fact this was on the retro fitness site. Its hard to believe that this is policy for a free guest past. Im starting to believe this was a discrimination act. I do not belive this is /was fair at all.

Please explain this situation at your earliest so i can. Better understand what the issur was...

Retro Fitness personal training sessions

Re: Personal Training Session

I am writing to your company about a problem with my personal training sessions that I've paid for over a year ago, that I'm not able to use now unless I pay for a yearly personal training session again.

On March 31, 2018 I spoke with your District Manager Kelian and Personal Trainer Jessica at your Park Slope location about the contract of personal training sessions that I did not authorize. I was charged for 8 sessions already without given consent for a yearly contract. When I spoke with Kelian, we agreed the personal training contract would be cancelled and I would be able to use my paid personal training sessions (total of 10, two additional for free) when I'm ready to use them.

On April 18, 2019 I had an assessment with a personal trainer to use my personal training sessions. After our assessment, I was informed that I would have to pay for a year of personal training sessions in order to use my 10 already paid sessions. The personal trainer stated Kelian informed her I'm not able to use it unless I pay for a year of personal training sessions.

The agreement Kelian and I made at our meeting was to use my 10 paid sessions to my discretion without additionally charges. Now our agreement is not being met. I like your gym and I like the convenient location of the gym to me. All I am asking for is your company to honor our agreement of me using my 10 paid personal training classes without having to sign up for a year of personal training sessions. I hope your company doesn't take the client's money without proving a service.
