Resort Equity Marketing Selling timeshare!

Resort Equity Marketing is a company that will offer to sell your timeshare for a fee and guarantee's that they will sell it for you within a time period and if not you have certain guarantee's that you will receive. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM! Do not pay the huge fee- they will expect you to call every 30-60 days to repost your ad and no one sees it since it is on a website with hundreds of other postings! They did not sell my property in fact I didn't receive ONE call! Then when I went to look for my property on their website I couldnt find it without a listing number! Who has a listing number except the owner? This is no way to sell a timeshare. I then requested my money back and the company was rude and refused to work with me. After a year of trying to work with them I filed a complaint to the BBB and they still refused to work with me. Again- DON"T DO BUSINESS WITH RESORT EQUITY MARKETING!

We listed our time share with this company with the gurantee that they would sell it in 180 days and if not we would get a $1000.00 to spend on merchandise neither of the above has happened . we have the contract stating this claim. So nothing has changed with this company, they are still scraming people out of there money and also we paid them 500.00 with a credit card we have the copy of the transaction. we should be issued a refund.

I think Resort Equity Marketing is a really great company. I signed up with them to have my property rented out sometime back and they found me a renter within a couple months. I have nothing bad to say about them whatsoever. I only wished I had taken the deal they offered me at the time and signed up for the lifetime rental so I can do it again this year.

Resort Equity Marketing Really Works.

I never heard from the company after paying my money like so many others did. What a ripoff to say the least. Steer clear of this company, you get nothing in return for your money but an additional heartache that lead you to them in the first place. I can't speak for anyone else but apparently looking at the complaints I am not the only one that was scammed by them. My response would be " BEWARE they are total scam artists". Who really knows if they have ever helped anyone. They bounce you around when you call for answers. Complaint Board is a great website. It's up to us as consumers to speak out and warn other consumers of potential dangers and ripoffs out there. Thank God for Complaint Board.

So does REM pick and choose who they will help for the fees charged? Is this just a front to set up the next trusting client?

REM - Its the fraud and 100% scam.I wanted to know what recourse we have to recover the money.I lost $900 for the promise to rent out my property in 3 months and its now more than 6 months and not a single call. When I call them i would be told that I can speak to the same salesperson as they don't have the information about my property and I will get a call directly from an elusive customer some day.

Resort Equity Marketing Scam timeshare resale

This company guarantees that they will sell your timeshare within 180 days and if they don't do it you will receive all sorts of 'freebies' DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. This is a total SCAM! They claim to advertise the sale of your property in several different ways but all they do is post your ad on their website; when you look on their website for your ad you can't find it without a listing number. Who has this listing number you ask- you do and no one else! They hounded me until I signed on with them, required a large 'fee', made all sorts of promises and guarantees and then didn't explain their basic requirements to keep my ad running- I had no idea that I had to call them every 60-90 days to repost my ad! I finally called them (I know it was within the first 90 days) to find out what was going on with my ad and they told me that the ad had been dropped! They then reposted it and after a year of calling I finally gave up and called them to ask why I hadn't received one call from any interested party to purchase my timeshare! Then when I inquired about the guarantee's they told me that I didn't call at the allotted time so all guarantee's were voided. I asked for my money back for services not rendered and they ignored me. I filed a complaint with the BBB and again they refused to work with me. Just do yourself a favor - if you want to sell your timeshare work with a reputable company NOT Resort Equity Marketing!

Resort Equity Marketing not fulfilling contract

Told me that for a fee they would market and sell my time share. I have never seen any proof of their attempts to sell my property.
Then it turns out they have this clause in the contract that they owner must call them every 90 days to renew their ad. I have gotten many calls, since my dealings with REM, from companies making similar claims. They all want money up front to sell the property. No one will take a cut of the sale once sold. Some even go as far as saying they have a buyer already and just need you to sign a contract and pay a fee. Most of these companies are PO Boxes only and have a F rating with BBU. When I call REM to renew my ad, I was 1 to 2 weeks late and was told by the manager, Andrew Traxler, that they did not have to renew my ad because I was late. I became angry because once again I realized That I was being taken, and then Mr Traxler informed me because I was rude to him, they would no longer handle my business. I reiterated "That because I got angry at you, will will not run my ad" and he said, "yes, exactly".
They took my $499. and showed no proof of trying to sell my property in any way. They count on the consumer notifying them late so they can not renew the supposed ad.

Resort Equity Marketing Rip off

We are nearing ONE YEAR and have received ZERO phone call related to the sale of our Orlando property. Resort Equity Marketing (REM) charged us over $1000 to list property with CLAIM it would be sold within 180 days. NOTHING. We got the credit for property not being sold of about $1000 - problem is the products listed for $50 can be brought at Dollar Store for a DOLLAR. AND then we would be charged a PER ITEM cost to process which was more then we would pay at Dollar Store.

AND they seem to sell our name and property info.

PLEASE Avoid Resort Equity Marketing AT ALL COST !

Resort Equity Marketing SCAM ARTISTS FOR Timeshares

Mark Snyder persistantly called during the month of Oct 2009, stating their company was one of the best to advertise renting your timeshare for these BIG
corporations to have places to stay during their big year end meetings. Said he could set up a booth at the Florida Convention Center and advertise our property with
Wyndam. We like everyone was very hestitate: we rec'd the contract, signed it, sent LOTS OF MONEY and have heard nothing from anyone. Ours was a 90 day promise to have someone rent our timeshare. We have heard nothing from them, BUT ARE GETTING LOADS OF PHONE CALLS asking us to SELL OUR PROPERTY ... we are not interested in selling. This company MUST BE TURNED OVER TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. Our document was signed by Johnny Bryant Director of Administration.

Resort Equity Marketing Took money, did nothing

Resort Equity Marketing called me and made promises to me that they would get my unused RCI weeks rented. They charged me an upfront fee of $1100 and said it was guaranteed. I received the paperwork which I signed and returned and kept waiting for something that reflects the guarnteed they spoke of and also mentioned on the Paperwork. Nothing ever received mentiong what that gurantee was. Now a few months later I can not get a response back from them. I am sure I am not the only idiot that has given them money and saw no return as promised.

I too have fallen victim to REM's fast talking and diluted guarantee's. Back in April 2009 I received a call from REM and a promise to rent my time share points. Even though I asked all of the right questions, their there promise of a guarantee to rent of $1000.00 gift certificate helped the sell. Well I just received my certificate after I phoned REM on 11/16/09, in fact REM has NEVER called me about anything since they took my $995.00. I took some time to review the items on their "Select Your Gifts" site and the stuff is crap. I've seen better items at the Flea Market. If I purchased every item on their list it wouldn't be worth $1000.00. I would like to work with everyone that has been stuck by the fast talking of this company (if I can call them that). They give every entrepreneurial spirit a bad name with these rip off antics.

Resort Equity Marketing Timeshare rental

They took my 350$ upfront guaranteeing to rent my timeshare in Mexico within 6 months or they would give me an online $1000 shopping spree. After 6 months of no rental calls, I requested the spree. When they insisted that I wait for the cert # and password in the mail it seemed fishy but I waited. When I accessed the Select Your Gifts website to redeem my $1000.shopping spree I found out that almost everything listed had an S & H fee of 25-50% of the items listed price which was about three times its actual value plus a $5.00 fee for each shipment. Looking through the website it had predominantly junk which was not worthl the S & H fees and that I could not use at all. I believe that this is a scam and initially, when I talked to the Customer service manager he kept saying again and again that the property would rent very quickly (a couple of weeks at most). A couple of months later he had left the company and a women was in his place, a couple of months after that another man replaced her as she had also quit the company. This company does not seem kosher and when I requested a refund they said my revocation period had expired. I got no calls or offers to rent my place for the 6 months it has been on the website and I do not believe that anyone tried to rent it for me as agreed.

Resort Equity Marketing REM ACTUALLY RENTS OUT PROPERTIES

Resort Equity Marketing called me and asked if I had any extra weeks I would be willing to rent out at my unit in FL. Of course, with the economy I haven't been able to travel very much so I said sure. I couldn't afford the full fee they normally charged and I explained my circumstances to them. They worked with me on the price and I registered my property with them. I got a call from a gentleman looking to rent out the unit for an upcoming business trip and I agreed to the price he offered (about 1500) I am very happy with REM and the results! I would do it again in a heartbeat and I have definitely spread the word about them!

Resort Equity Marketing Resort Equity Marketing worked for me

Resort Equity Marketing called me June of 07. claiming they would be able to help me in selling my timeshare. They asked me for an up-front fee. I immidatley said i wouldn't pay upfront. so they went on about how good they are and that they had all of these guaranties. so then i finally give in and pay them $1095. then you have to call them every 90 days to tell them the property has not sold, which i believe that they should know if it was sold. but anyways after waiting for almost 2 yrs, they finally called me with an offer. i had the property listed with for 25, 500 Neg and they offered me 24, 000. i accepted it because owning a timshare is scam all on its own and could not what to get rid of it. Thanks resort equity marketing

I am actually quite please with Resort Equity Marketing. I think its unfair that some folks may not understand their contract and give these kind of companies a bad name. When I signed up last year they did everything they could to help me out. I called them regularly and got updates. They had attended a convention awhile back and forwarded me an offer. I accepted and they walked me through the whole closing process. I just desperately needed to get rid of that property and they really came through for me. Nothing bad to say about them at all. And I would recommend them to anyone in my position.

Resort Equity Marketing (REM) is as scam! Do not pay for any services to this timeshare sale/rent company! They got me signed up by sounding great, professional and wonderful and by promising a guaranteed sale in 180 days or money back in a form of a gift card, but when it came time to deliver, they never responded to my contact attempts after taking my money. I tried to contact them several times and by the time I finally got a hold of a real person (after months of emails and voice mails), they told me that my contract had expired and account had been closed so I was out of luck. They said that I should have called them every 90 days to keep account active - I did call & email them once or twice a month without them ever responding to me! At that point the sales persons names were Andrew, Jessica and Rebecca - all of whom were extremely unprofessional and rude when I was trying to request status of my account and sale. They also told me that I was out of luck and stupid to try to get my money back or any services out of them.

Resort Equity Marketing Fraud and scam

REM called and said they could sell or rent my timeshare within 180 day or I would get 1000 shopping spree... DID NOT HAPPEN! I paid 800 for absolutely nothing. They would not return phone calls or answer any e-mails. They are total scam artists. They should be banned from internet and from the Orange County Convention & Visitors Bureau. I found that if your really willing to go ball out and just dont pay them they will cave... tell them foreclose who cares... I did the math if you consider the cost to buy plus interest and the HOA plus the RCI subcription fee and the RCI trade free your looking at say 2000 bucks a week for your stay - figure you'll dump the whole thing in 7-10 years at most

if you put 200 a month into a vacation savings account you could go ANYWHERE ANYTIME and get a lot more value... overall I can't see timeshares working out, maybe if you need to drag the kids along but even then how asskicking of a place could you rent for 2400 a week... think about it...

BTW - the way geo works is they buy foreclosed timeshares for dirt and resell them, they actually own nothing

Resort Equity Marketing is definitely a scam. I have been with them since 2008, and nothing has been rented out. I owned an Orange Lake resort. They told me it was popular and could be rented out within 45 days. It has been 2 years! I do call in to check on my resort regularly and reduced my prices a couple times. So don't sign up with Resort Equity Marketing.

I wouldn't go with Exchange International, either. They told me they have over 8000 resorts and have more resorts than RCI. When you look at their website and do a search on their inventory, the number of resorts available is pitiful. I told the rep I needed some time to research their company, but they wouldn't let me go. I have a couple fixed weeks deposited in RCI. They told me these deposited week can be released from RCI to be exchanged with other owners on their website. Obviously either they lied or they don't know how RCI works and just make things up as they go along. I just confirmed with RCI that once a week is deposited, you can't release it to exchange with owners outside of RCI--you must exchange within RCI. So beware of Exchange International.

I think that all the positive feedback about REM was made by their employees to make the company look good. Don't buy into it. I almost lost $899 in fees, but my instinct told me to check the complaint sights. I cancelled my credit card account right away before they could place the charge through. I find it odd that no one is ever available to speak to you right away. It's always a voicemail, and they don't return calls after they have scammed you. If you want them to return your call, leave a voicemail saying that you want to rent your timeshare. They want fresh meat, so they will call you back! My advice is to try to sell your own timeshare.

I'm very uncertian at this point. I want to believe that they are legit, but it's hard when I was reassured that my timeshare would be sold within 30 - 90 days, and it has now been over 4 months. I have lowered our asking price and it is listed negotable and still not a single phone call. I'm concerned that I may have been scammed into buying a 1000 dollar gift certifacate towards their products. It's hard to trust after Geo Holiday scammed me into this time share in the first place. I'm so paranoid I'm considering that they could be in on this together. To make matters worse I was just contacted by another company called resort condos also claiming to sell my timeshare and I would have to say that had to be the most sketchy phone call I have ever recieved. Thankfully I wasn't buying anything they were saying because when I googeld their website all I could see where warning sites, which is why I looked up resort equity marketing on the complaint board as well. Luckily there seems to be more good reviews then bad, so I will continue to hope for the best, what else can I do they already have my money :(

REM is definitely proficient in marketing my timeshare! I have more than profited from them, and I always get my updates on my account when I call for customer service. People should really read their contracts and be more proactive in the process, thats how it suppose to work anyway. Hope this helps others looking for some easy cash!
