In 2008 my husband and I bought a timeshare on Ambergris Caye, Belize at Reef Village Resort, controlled and owned by Grand Crowne Resort, Missouri. We were at the few last payments of our contract and we would be paid in full. When we asked Reef Village to give us the total we owed, Ana Cruz said we still owed another $3500.00 dollars. Our timeshare cost $9000.00, we put half down, owing $4500.00 that would be 30 payment of $124.00. In the paperwork it stated 60 months, not 30, that was a mistake made by our salesperson and we didn't catch it, until now! Ana Cruz, from Reef Village, said sorry that is what you owe and you signed the contract. I got on the phone with Grand Crowne today to see what they had to say and low and behold, they aren't affiliated with Reef Village anymore. I asked this person when did this happen and why weren't we notified, they wouldn't give me any answer, I wonder why? So, here we are in the hole for $9000.00 and never used one week of our timeshare! Every document we signed has Grand Crowne Resort on it, so how are any of the documents we signed valid? Reef Village are a bunch of scoundrels and thieves!

My apologies - misspelled (Frand Criwne) Grand Crowne above. Darn cell phone key pad.

We too invested in 2007 at Reef Village, a Geand Crowne affiliated timeshare. Never received anything from Grand Crowne about the dissolution and now our Reef Village timeshare is non existent. Received 1 week of use in 2008. Has anyone been in touch with Frand Criwne to find out their lack of communication on this deal and why they feel its ok to leave us all hanging? I think as timeshare owners with agreements from Grand Crowne we need to pursue these avenues.

We are investigating Reef Village and are preparing a case for the IRS. More information would be of great help.

Being a regular user of DHL, due to the fact I have no other option, I agree they are a terrible company. I live in a remote section of Belize, but it takes one hour by small aircraft to reach here, There are 4 flights per day. My packages consistently take a week or longer to reach me. DHL says it is because I am rural, but sometimes it is 5 days before they reach the city, packages are frequently opened and stolen from (cell phones, PS3 games) missing. Packages go around in circles from US to Panama, back to US and then to Belize. When talking to their help each time you are told a different story of where your package is. Plus they add on additional charges on both sending and receiving, as much as $35USD more on each end. I have always been happy with UPS while living in US I wish they would deliver here, but the anti-import laws here make it tough on reputable shippers and shipping companies. If you are willing to pay off someone, you are given special treatment.

We too joined in 2008. Were you able to find out anything further? I was able to use 1 free week, but haven't been able to reach them. What have you found out? I would be interested I hearing from you or anyone else with the same challenges. Salterd at me.com
