Red Roof Inn Customer service and room issues

Oct. 15 - 17, 2021 - We have been to Red Roof Inn's before b/c we have a dog that travels with us and love that it's a pet friendly motel. This is the absolute worst one we have been to and will not return. Cierra checked us in and was not only unfriendly, she was downright rude! I asked if we could be on an outside part of a building and she just said "no." No reason, I think she realized I was not happy and finally said everything is already booked. Walking the dog throughout our trip we could clearly see there were at least 2 other rooms that people had checked out of, but were not cleaned and weren't used the days we were there. There was only 1 roll of toilet tissue in the bathroom for 3 nights. Went to the office and asked for a couple more, Cierra gave me 1 roll. I asked for another one and she walked away. I have never experienced such RUDE customer service. Had to go to front desk every day to get more toilet tissue. Also, the garbage cans were full/overflowing when we arrived at check in and were never emptied the 3 nights we were there (photos below). On our way out, there were 3 people in the front office talking and laughing, perhaps someone could have emptied a trash can eh?
One of the double beds was so worn, it was sunken way in in the middle. Wish I had taken a photo of that, but didn't. One of us slept in that bed the first night and woke up with back pain. That same morning, we asked to be moved or replace the mattress and let them know we would be out for the day to please call us and let us know what the outcome was. Received no phone call. Called the office AGAIN while we were out with family for my BIRTHDAY very late in the afternoon, spoke with someone on the late shift and asked to speak with a manager. No manager there, asked them to have a manager call me, which again, no return phone call. We had to cut our plans short that day and returned early from our outing with family to make sure the mattress was taken care of or we were checking out. We went into the room and could see it had been switched out thankfully. One more thing...the heating and air control panel instructions was completely worn off. Could not read which was hot/cold. We had to mess around with it forever to try and get air first and then it turned cold and we needed heat. This hotel experience was upsetting and was an absolute nightmare!

The rooms, furniture, towels, mattress, equipment, etc. need to be updated to say the least. I will not return to this Red Roof Inn again...if I even return to another Red Roof Inn in the future at all! And get rid of Cierra!

Desired outcome: Need to at least be able to speak with a manager/Supervisor via phone with problems and staff does not help!.

Red Roof Inn Hotel stay Red Roof; Warren Michigan

This is in regards to the RED ROOF INN; 26, 300 Dequindre Rd; Warren, Michigan
They rented me a room for a week (prepaid) that was a disaster zone. Bathtub filled with dirt; toilet running continious; no TV; NO INTERNET; lamps not working; food rotting in the fridge and on and on. When we complained; they indicated they would issue a one day refund and correct the problems. They did not correct the problems and when another similar room became available, they moved us to that room.

Not as many problems; No Internet, TV no remote; toilet working off and on; lights not working etc.
Complained and we were told they would fix the problems; not so? They did nothing and then the
GM and night manager kept avoiding us.

They advised they would not refund anything in spite of commitment made.

What a disaster the week was!

Red Roof Inn Dirty bed linen, dirty shower, no breakfast, spider webs

We had stains on comforter, 1 pillow and sheets. The front desk was contacted about the problems and we were told that they would get some if they had any. 5 minutes later the employee came to the door with wrinkled sheets and said if we don't return the dirty ones that night we would be charged for them the next morning so i told her never mind because i was in my sleepwear. The shower was very dirty and unacceptable for taking a shower. The online advertisement mentioned breakfast and the employees said there was none available. Thursday morning on checkout my daughter asked for a receipt and the front desk clerk said they couldn't give her one because it was booked through a 3rd party, this was from her employer Aldi's

Red Roof Inn unauthorized credit card, unethical conduct, rude unprofessional staff and corporate irresponsibility

I am a registered nurse seeing covid patients in the community. I am also a veteran and a 9/11 first responder. I had to make a sudden move to the east coast to be with my family due to a sudden illness. I set up reservations and my plans had to change. I was able to cancel two of the reservervations but in the other two I continued to get server down. I attempted to call and sat on hold for extended periods of time.

I finally got in touch with someone and explained the situation. Knowing full well that I didn't stay in the property and that their system was down to cancel reservations they told me they would offer me a refund. The next day after they knew full well that the reservations were cancelled they charged my card creating a financial hardship. When I called today I was given the runaround and told I would have to wait 15 days to get the refund. When I pointed out they shouldn't have charged the cards they made no apology and told me I would have to wait 15 days.

I emailed the property manager to no avail and got a dismissive form letter. I eventually contacted their corporate office and spoke with multiple rude employees until I finally got the manager who identified himself as "Chris" and claimed he was the manager over the customer service center for corporate. He spoke over me the entire time I was speaking.

He didn't interrupt he literally spoke over me the entire time. It became clear as to why the agents that report to him are so unprofessional. The fish rots from the head. I then told him I wanted to speak to his supervisor and he responded "that isn't going to happen". I am currently in the process of filing a complaint with my bank against red roof inn for fraudulent charges.

This is a company that treats their customers like garbage. This is a company that created a financial hardship for a registered nurse out in the community seeing covid patients. This is a company who speaks down to veterans. I will never stay in another red roof inn in my lifetime or in any affiliated property. This is horrible customer service delivered by a company that clearly has no problem creating hardships for essential workers during a difficult time.

Desired outcome: public awareness, I want an apology from Chris supervisor for his conduct. Until that happens I continue to share this story

Red Roof Inn Hometown suites

I stayed there at the one in Detroit-Livonia mi for over a week. I had no complaints until that Saturday sept 18, 2021 which was the that Saturday I was lock out of my room due to the keypad malfunction for about 2 hours. The maintenance guy had to replace the door knob. A few hours later the key slot malfunction again. The gentleman that was on site was rude stated that I had to leave everything in my room and they would deal with it in the morning. Well that was not an option for myself being all of belongings was in there including my wallet. I notice the window was unlock and went through there.. I was informed that the lock wouldn't be replace until Monday. I tried to find another hotel nearby but everything was booked. So I had no choice but to stay. With no complaints and not being able to leave my room I stayed. Well things got worst the light in my room went out the night guy refused to call maintenance so with no where to go I slept outside in my car. I called and made a complaint about those 2 days of my week stay asking for a refund for them 2 days only. I was sent a Survey though my email which I did complete only to find out that was there resolution to my complaint. And a $26.00 refund. I rebook for this weekend through there 1800 number received a conformation number the next thing I know I received an email stating that my room was canceled. I called the 1800 number back and was told being that I filed a complaint against management that management is the ones that canceled it in the office and that they can refused service just because. I made another reservation praying it don't get canceled again.

Desired outcome: A refund for Saturday and Sunday an apology and to stop canceling my reservation.

Red Roof Inn Staff

Reserved room through orbitz for august 21 2021. I reserved a double room. I got there an there was not the room I reserved online… staff after searching on computer gave me a key and told me to check a room out to see if anyone was in it…. Doorways locked and do not disturb sign was on door. Staff then fumbled around on the computer tried to sell me on a single bed. I said that's not what I needed or reserved. I then asked if I could get a refund and be on my way. Staff said sure she would take care of it… I then asked if I needed to do anything on my end. She said no. I left. After about a week and not seeing a refund I called orbitz. Orbitz reached out to the red roof inn 1201 liberty high point North Carolina 27263. Red roof stated that I fullfilled my reservation. After this I called to speak with the manager at the hotel. I am now getting the run around. Every time I call I am told to call back later. I am being lied to and everything I'm saying could be verified through security cameras. I don't appreciate being lied on.

Red Roof Inn I was told about getting a refund for 1 night on 8/18/2021 still haven't receive it yet.

I've booked a room for 2 nights and 1 day. Had to cut it short. I booked it for august 6 through august 8. On August the 7 I was waken by a bug crawling on my face and went to the bathroom and saw a family of roaches on the floor and tub. I quickly got dressed and went to the front desk and explained to the person what had happen. Front desk respond was do I have proof or taken any pictures. I told the person who's thinking about taking picture early that morning or when your mind raising when something crawling on your face.
So I told him I wasn't staying their any more. So I checked out at 745 am. I did ask for a refund he refused to give it to me and that I needed to talk to the manager when she get back on Monday on the 9.
Brittany Burch the general manager at that site .Brittany said she need to get a exterminator out their . M.BURCH didn't get back with me so I had to email her again when she respond back to me she told me that their was no signs of roaches or any other bugs in the room. So I told her I didn't believe that because why would my room had a problem. So Ms. Burch did mention that she will refund me for one night but not both. The last email she seen me was on the 18 of August and still haven't it yet. Yes I seen out a email to her and no respond back from her. I also look up some reviews on that property and I saw other customers complaints about bedbugs and roaches at this facility . The Red Roof Plus me and my stayed at was 6170 Oxon hill road, Oxon Hill, Md 20745 #181 .
I just want my refund back that's all I'm asking for.

Red Roof Inn Sanitary condition of bed

So I check in this room at 5 am as I got to town late and had to check out by 11am which was fine. However after my companion got a bite on his back from bed we started looking to see if they had bed bug and what we found was disgusting as there was blood stained mattress pad and other stain. I checked out at least by 10am after that so didnt even finish stay as I was thoroughly disgusted we got such an unsanitary room and to think I paid 91.00 for this. I brought this to front desk attention at check out and the best he could tell me was that they would check the room to see if this was blood on the mattress pad. Thanks red roof way to go. Absolutely disgusted - I showed him pictures and everything and they not offer to make right in any way.

Desired outcome: I would like refund as this was totally unacceptable

Red Roof Inn Wrongly kept deposit

They kept my 100 dollar deposit with a false accusation that the room had been smoked in. I immediately reached out to the Manager Tony Wilhelm and was again told that the room had been smoked in and that no refund was due. Guest relations did not help whatsoever as well. After looking at the reviews and complains from many sources it is obvious that this is something that others have complained about too.

Red Roof Inn Chicago Ohare/Arlington Hts

REDI CARD # [protected], Barbara Massey, checked into Arlington Heights Inn and when we opened the room, it was filthy, bed not made and a "used condom" on the floor! Are you F...ing kidding me, I almost threw up! Photo attached, then the next room they gave us had filty floors, gross refrigerator with spilled food items in it, this is absolutely unacceptable, I've been frequent guest from Florida, Kentucky and Illinois and this is enough to have me never return or recommend in the future. No rate concession was offered, very weak apology, can you honestly give us a reason to ever return besides offering a free weekend or two stay to re-establish confidence in us? Our friends that were traveling with us found it laughable that we still stayed there, anxiously awaiting your response to a possible (former) customer for life, Barbara Massey, [protected]

Red Roof Inn Deceiving webpage room picture and safety issues!

On August 2, 2021, my family and I have stayed before at the Red Roof Inn at 2405 West Hundred Road Chester, VA 23831. We enjoyed the Chester location, a beautiful hotel, and a great room! However, I made a reservation for a room at the Red Roof Inn located at 2204 Airport Blvd, West Columbia South Carolina for August 21 to 22, 2021. The reservation was for a Deluxe Double Room with Two Double Beds Smoke-Free as shown on their website please see the following link Cheap, Pet Friendly Hotel | Smoke-Free | West Columbia, SC 29170 (redroof.com)
We were excited to stay in a safe and comfortable room, but our room at the Columbia was not as it has been in the past. The pictures of the room and the main entrance on the webpage entrance are not from the Columbia location, there are highly deceiving. In addition, the attendant at the desk took me to the second floor to see the room. First, all the stair, and exterior corridors were wet, and water hoses stretching up the stairs creating a highly unsafe condition. All this is because the building was under the process of a power wash cleaning. Second, the worse was when the desk attendant opens the door for the room. As I walked into the room, water from the cleaning done at the external corridor got through perhaps the door of the room creating a pool of water. Has, I was standing in the pool of water, by just taking few steps in. I just looked at the attendant. I told him, that I want my money back. The attendant responder that he was very sorry, and not to worry. He stated that he will take care of my refund.
On August 23, 2021, I did receive a partial refund for $35.00. I am still waiting for my full refund. I also contacted my credit card for assistance to get my refund back as a promise by the attendant. The staff on duty could have cared less about showing a room. The room was very old, not clean and prepared for a customer, and had been smoked in.
I would like a full refund. In addition, for a quality control or compliance officer from your company to visit the Columbia location so recommendations and proper action could be taken to ensure the health and safety of your consumers.

Red Roof Inn Cleanliness and broken

I reserved a Handicap Room at RED ROOF INN at 2939 South Arlington Rd, Akron Ohio for 8/27/21. Upon Checking inn I had to wait in line for current hotel guest getting reassigned to other rooms because their initial room assigned was filthy.
When I entered my room No. 132 I found used hand-Cuffs on the floor. I also found hair in the sink and on the bed. The room stunk of cigarette smell as well. I just could not sleep in the space as I was disgusted about other stains on walls and bed covers. Even though I'm handicapped I struggled to the 3rd floor as I was also reassigned a room. No 336 was better but still needed painting a new AC/Heater Unit.
I am asking for a full refund since Red Roof Inn was not able to offer me the room I reserved.
I have always stayed at Red Roof in my travels but this hotel on was the most disgusting both inside and out. I am debating swithing to Holiday Inn...Thank Ward Hoffmann [protected]

Red Roof Inn Everything

My family and I have been staying at the Red Roof Inn Plus+ at 42 Flint Road, Buffalo, NY since Tuesday, August 24, 2021. We chose this location due to its proximity to University at Buffalo Campus. Upon arriving to our hotel, we noticed a whole heap of issues. The first basic issue would be that our room did not have a refrigerator and microwave, even though those are things that said they would actually be available in the room. When asked if we could have one, we were told we would be brought one to our room, but it never arrived. However, the other issues are far from basic. The bathroom was filthy. The curtains looked like they have never been cleaned, the tub looks like it hasn't been scrubbed since the hotel first opened, and none of the amenities worked properly. The sheets and the pillow cases were filthy! We had to buy cleaning products for the room before we felt comfortable enough to even unload our things into the room. The bathroom had no toilet tissue, the smoke detector is missing from the room, the safe doesn't close at all, the remote to the TV doesn't work, the outlets near the beds don't work, all the appliances look like they haven't been updated since 1980s! We even have to wash in the shower with flip flops on! There were no other options for other rooms when we asked, even though we were the first of all the patrons to arrive. Even the door is busted and requires a lot of work for us to close it when leaving the room. This isn't even the whole list of issues we ran into during our stay. This has been the worst experience I've ever had in a hotel, especially a red roof! I definitely expected better and would want nothing less than a full refund for this trip. I look forward to you helping me out with a resolution

Red Roof Inn Rude customer service representative at the front desk

On 8-25-21, I called the Red Roof In in Wytheville, VA. The first time I called, no one answered the phone at the front desk. It rang so many time that the call disconnected. The second time I called, the person seemed to not be able to hear me and he simply hung up. Finally, on the third try, I was able to talk to the front desk. I asked for accommodations on the first floor for my husband due to his heart issues. I was advised that it would depend upon the availability that day, even though I confirmed that the reservation I made online was showing on their computer system. When I questioned the male worker about Red Roof's unwillingness to make accommodations for someone's health issues, he then stated that it depended on whether another guest stayed over an additional day. I then HAD TO ASK MYSELF if this was the case, would Red Roof give him a comparable room (price-wise) on the first floor. I tried to explain that my husband is traveling from Georgia home to Ohio and that I will not be traveling with him. I was trying to have this taken care of for him and that he would be arriving late and would not be as nice as I am about this issue. I was then told that if he was not nice, he would have to find another place to stay! Unbelievable. I stated, "Thank you but I don't think so. Have a good night." Also, our reservation stated if arrival time was after 9 pm, we were to contact the hotel because the reservation could be given to someone else. When I told the male front desk worker this, he said this wasn't the case. When I told him the reservation details stated this, he just said, "It will be ok." I am not very reassured by this response. I have stayed at this hotel many times as I have traveled back and forth from Ohio to Georgia and back.

Desired outcome: My hope is that a manager can resolve this issue with this employee.

Red Roof Inn Housekeeping customer service

There was trash piled in the hallways, my bed didn't have pillows on it my room phone did not work the TV remote did not work. There's a lampshade missing off the lamp by the beds the bathroom lights did not work it was completely dark and wasn't able to see. There were no towels in my room I asked the front desk for towels and she stated that they did not have any. There were children's underwear underneath one of the beds and a glob of sticky substance in the middle of the floor between the beds. Also the floors were un-vaccumed and there was food in the fridge and garbage on the nightstand. This was from a one-night stay at a Red roof inn in Clearwater Florida. I have pictures and videos but your site will not allow me to upload them.

Red Roof Inn Manager at Cameron, MO hotel

He does not like pets and women.

After a very long day of packing and driving, I looked online and saw an ad for Red Rood Inn stating they love dogs. We pulled off at the exit that had the closest Red Roof Inn. I showed the manager the code the site had for a percentage off, gave him my driver's license and credit card, went to the room and fell asleep while my husband continued unpacking the car and bringing the dogs in.

He told my husband he needed to speak to me while my husband was still bringing things into the room about 25 minutes later.

My husband woke me up and I went back to the desk. He said I wasn't finished checking in, (not sure why my husband couldn't do that?) stuck a paper in front of me and told me to sign it. I signed it and went back to sleep. Next morning when we were all packed up and ready to leave, my husband had the dogs on leashes, opened the room door and the manager was actually standing in front of our door startling the dogs and my husband. As they ran into the hall excited to go outside they barked and my husband pulled them back in the room. The manager moved out of the way and my husband took the dogs out. I was still in the room getting the last of our stuff ready to go. After at least 10 minutes, I left the room with the last of our stuff including a kitten wrapped in a towel (that we found the day before and kept in a box). The manager was still standing at the door as I walked out. He started yelling at me as I was leaving. He yelled a lot and said "your dogs attacked me". I stopped just enough to tell him to check the room it was immaculate. He continued yelling as I walked out. I looked on my credit card later that night and there was an additional charge on my credit card. I have pictures of the room and there is no damage nor signs of an animal being there.

Desired outcome: Do not force people to sign things especially when they're tired or have been sleeping. If you don't like animals then don't say they are welcome somewhere. You do not charge $200 because you don't like a customer.

Red Roof Inn The television don’t even get the local channels. Remotes not working. See pic below

I just checked in today 8-12-21 Red Roof Inn Warren, Michigan on Dequindre Avenue

THE staff definitely took my $50 deposit right away to check in. but once I went into the room, I picked up the remote for TV and nothing happened. I really enjoy and love TV.

I turned it on manually and only 3 channels worked, I wouldn't mind if it would have just shown the local channels, but it didn't. One channel was to order movies and it doesn't work because remote isn't working.

I asked for another remote and it didn't work either, I asked for a second one and didn't work either.

I definitely think Management was taking advantage of me. They knew the TV problems with room 157. When I talked with the front desk, he just said Wi-Fi problems…. To get a local channel is Wi-Fi problems?

I would appreciate a full refund because I checked out of my room and never stayed overnight.

I was in room 157 on August 12, 2021. Name is Clarence Collins. At the Red Roof Inn in Warren, Michigan.

Red Roof Inn Room 118

I was passing through this area for work and need a place to stay and I booked this room in advanced with the Opelika location room 118 on august 7-8 I paid 151.00. I was very displeased with this room. I had to clean this room for about an hour before I could sleep. the bathroom was horrible, the tub and shower curtain had mildew on them I was not able to shower. I had to leave at 5:30 in the morning to shower before my next meeting.

Desired outcome: I am asking for half of what I paid or a discount on another room at another location

Red Roof Inn The hotel and room

Good evening, I paid to stay at your hotel. And I had to go to another hotel across the street. Your hotel had a smelly room with roaches and mold. I was not going to stay there with my infant grandchild. I was very disappointed and upset I lost money at your Ashland red roof inn. I want my money back due to not occupying the room. I had to go to another hotel nearby. This location is a old run down roach infested poor excuse for a hotel

Red Roof Inn My stay

I am a continuous customer to red roof inn I love the staff and the hotel but today I was approached by a man who claimed to live there who proceeded to cuss me out about my dog when I have a little dog he said that he didn't trust my dog and called me a [censored] multiple times I went to the front desk and explained what was going on and I just got a refund because they were not willing to say anything to this man and if he done that to me then I know he will do it to someone else. Just because he lives at that hotel doesn't mean he can treat another paying customer like trash. He does not own any part of that hotel even if he did I would hope he wouldn't speak to a complete stranger the way this man did me in front of my seven year old son. I just feel like the staff should have said something to him but all we got told is that we are not the first person he has done that to.

Desired outcome: I want to be able to enjoy my experience there if I ever return without being harassed by a man like that
