Re/Max - selling of home

To Whom It May Concern:

I have sold my home through Remax and I am very sorry that I did. The agent I had was more interested in closing the deal and then protecting my interest. She essentially helped the buyers push me out of my home. The real estate agent I am referring to is Tara Lauterbach.

The points below is how she handled the selling of home, which shows how she totally and completely disregarded me and treated me like I did not count:

1. She pushed me to allow the buyers to store their belongs and dog in my home. My agreement with the buyers through my attorney was to allow them to store their furniture in one area and dogs outside. The day before the closing. Instead the buyers put everything they own in my home.

2. The day before the closing Tara showed up at my home for what reason only to push me out. She kept pushing me to move my belongs that were left in my home out. I asked her to leave a minimum of three to times and to keep her hands off of my belongings.

3. They made me leave my home so that the buyers could have a walk through, the day before, I wasn't even completely out of the house, walk throughs don't happen until the day of the closing. Also the agreement was that I was still moving my belongs and I was going to be there as long as I needed to be there and the buyers were not suppose to interfere with me moving my stuff and cleaning.

4. I went with my son-in-law to pick my daughter up from her job upon our return to their home we found the contents of my refrigerator and freezer in a box on my daughters front porch. Tara had returned to my home and started moving my stuff out. While I was not present. Who gives a realtor the right to touch my belongs and to remove the items from my refrigerator and freezer and sit the items outside in front of someone home. I can not list all of the stuff she through into boxes willy nilly without regard that the items belonged to someone, Very disrespectful.

5. When I returned to my home, I found that all of my clothing taken out of my closets, my dryer emptied and placed in a box, not even neatly. I was talking with the gentlemen friend of the family that was helping me moved and he told me that while I was gone, that Tara had returned to my home and started bringing stuff out of my home and telling him to place them in the truck. I wasn't even home. What right did she have to touch my stuff and throw things in the truck. She was a real estate agent not a mover and I never asked for her help or gave her permission to be there and furthermore, I asked her to leave and not to touch a thing.

6. I felt very vilalated and pushed aside as I didn't matter and that my belongs were in the way. No money changed hands, the house was still mine and I had every right to be there until the day of the closing which was not until the next day. I was not even giving the opportunity to clean my home the way I wanted to and the buyers complained that things were not cleaned properly. What did they expected when they kicked me out of my home.

7 . The day of the closing my son-in-law and daughter when back to the house to remove my chair lift and but the banister back into place. Only find the buyers camping out inside my home. They called the real estate agent to find out why they were in the home. Tara came down to ask the buyers to leave so we could finish, but what she said to them was so unbelievable that someone who was supposed to be my agent would say. She told them that family is having another one of their meltdowns and that they need to get back into the house. The house was still mine not theirs, and they were there moving their stuff around the house before any money has changed hands. And then they had the nerve to complain about the condition of my home when I was not given the proper opportunity to clean and move out of my home what did they expect.

8. She blamed my son-in-law saying that he gave her permission. Which was not true he was helping me move and was really not paying her any attention. In any case the belongings and home was mine not his and she had no right to ask him anything. It was not like I was not there I was, she ignored me like I was invisible and didn't count.

I can go on but as I write this e-mail my anger grows. It was very traumatic experience for me the way I was treated. I lived at 18 Glendale Road, Flanders, New Jersey for almost 50 years, lost my husband in that time. Tara did not allow me the opportunity move out of my home with a pleasant departure with all the memories I had of my husband and family in the home. Instead she made it a very rushed traumatic experience to this day upsets me, that I was not given the proper opportunity to say good bye to my life in the home and welcome in my new beginning. My only question I have left is if she has done this to me who knows how many others she has done this to or will do to. She is not an honorable real estate agent, only an agent the will do anything to close the deal and screw everyone else.

Should you be interested in speaking with me regarding my complaint, please feel free to contact me and my daughter at [protected].

Sincerely,
Barbara Carbaugh
