Qatar Airways Luggage delay

I am writing regarding my trip to Uganda from Doha on May 7th, 2022. My bag did not arrive to Entebbe airport and I had to go to Kampala and spend 2.5 days without my cloths and medication and missed the group transportation to Mbarara and my speech in a seminar on Monday, just to wait for my bag to arrive on Monday and pay a driver to take me back to Entebbe airport and pick up the bag as I was rushing to go to Mbarara for my seminar and didn't have time to wait for them to send the bag to my hotel. I had to pay to another driver to take me to Mbarara the next day as I missed the group transportation which was way cheaper for me. I had to go to a mall and buy some cloths for 2 days (It was impossible for me to stay with same cloths I was wearing for my whole 30hours trip!)

In total, I had to spend around $500 and cancel my speech to stay in Kampala waiting for my bag! It was a big mental and financial distress for me.

I'm requesting compensation from Qatar Airline.

Desired outcome: I would like financial compensation.

Qatar Airways Prohibited from using Business Class Lounge despite having a Bus ticket

My name is PINGLASVASTI AMRANAND, my brother was the President of Thai Airways, Dr. Piyasvasti Amranand.

I am writing to report an unpleasant incident which happened to me at Doha airport on 30 May 2022. 

Last January 2022 I bought 2 roundtrip Business Class tickets for my wife and I for Bangkok - DOHA - Washington, DC and back.
I bought them directly from the QR website (not through a travel agency or other online sites), and there was only 1 price quoted, and I paid 284,580 Thai Baht for the pair of tickets.


We left Bangkok on 9th February and used the Business Class lounge in Bangkok, as well as the lounge in Doha.

On my return from IAD (Washington, DC) yesterday (29 May 2022) flight QR708, I was invited to use the Business Class Lounge there (which you share with Turkish Airline). 

When I arrived in Doha on 30 May for the transfer of flight to Bangkok (QR830), however, I was denied access to all 3 lounges.


I was told that my ticket has been downgraded to a ‘Business Light’ which does not allow passengers to use any lounges. 
I spoke to several front desk staff members at each of the lounges, including Anil at the Al Mourjan Business Lounge, and all said the same thing. 

I do not understand how this could happen since I bought the roundtrip tickets with one purchase and not in segments directly from Qatar Airways.

And if I was allowed to use the Business Class lounges in Bangkok and here in Doha on my way to Washington, DC in February, and also THE DAY BEFORE at Dulles Airport, why would this segment of the ticket be different?

One reason I rarely buy tickets via budget online companies such as Expedia, is to avoid such hassles from happening, like restrictions on changing dates. 

One person said the Business Class Light option was introduced about 4 months ago, which would be AFTER I bought my air tickets from QR. And again, then why was I invited to use the Lounge in Dulles airport just one day earlier?

If the above reason is true, it is more than unfair that your airline would do this to a Business Class ticket holder who bought his ticket BEFORE the price policy was introduced. 
Your staff were all polite but I think they should have made an exception for me, instead of making me walk around and around the various lounges more than twice, pushing the problem to someone else.

Your records should show, and I have the receipt that showed that I paid 284,580 Baht for 2 round trip tickets, hardly a discount fare. 

Furthermore, I booked and paid for Qsuites for the entire journey, yet between Bangkok-Doha, as well as Doha-Bangkok the plane was changed last minute to ones not equipped with Qsuites.

Needless to say, I am not pleased with any of this at all, and feel strongly that a PARTIAL REFUND is in order.


I will seriously consider not using QR again as well as advising others not to do so either. Many to whom I have described my experience advise that I write to newspapers in Thailand who will gladly print it in their letter columns.

I will be taking further action unless I hear back from you in a timely manner.

Qatar Airways Qatar Airways customer service

My mother suffered a medical stroke whilst on holiday in Brisbane and although medically recovered and cleared to fly, we thought we would book wheelchair assistance where possible to avoid stressing her heart on any transfer. We booked this via the "Manage my booking" option on line and then confirmed the request with the check in agent at Brisbane Airport. She acknowledged the request was on the booking after i told her about my mother's stroke condition. the gate (was only a very short distance from security at Brisbane with no staircases and so we were able to cope without assistance but i wanted the Doha and Heathrow segments assisted at all times.

Having just landed and returned home, my mother communicated that there was no wheelchair or assistance at Doha or at Heathrow where in both cases she has been forced to walk lengthy distances unaided.

What is the point of offering "lipservice" to frail passengers and not following through with the arranged support ? Our loved ones are in your trusted care all the way until they pick up their bags in my opinion as they have paid Qatar airways to transport both them and their baggage to a destination. I hold your airline directly responsible for the extremely poor experience and stressful situation you placed my mother in. Appreciate that upgrade work to Heathrow meant that baggage services were located a distance away, but i told your Brisbane check-in staff that assistance was needed from the beginning and you did not act on that information. Absolutely terrible support and i will be advising all friends and family never to use this airline again

Desired outcome: Acknowledgment, ownership and an apology of the problem and some offer to compensate for the terrible support

Qatar Airlines is a [censored]ty airline. There is no reason they should be rated No1. Their Indian Call Center is a pathetic and useless service that repeats what is on the website and has no means of escalating genuine cases. Will never take Qatar again

Qatar Airways Qatar Airways Lagos

My Husband and I booked a flight heading to London Heathrow from Nigeria on the 22nd December 2021. The tickets was to be used on the 3rd of January.

Getting to the airport we were told the Covid 19 test we did would have expired by the time we get to Doha and wouldn't be valid by the time we get to Heathrow. As sad as the new was we went back, asked to be rescheduled for another day, we were told we would need to pay an extra N700,000 in addition to our initial payment of N679,852.80. We objected and decided to cancel the trip within the stipulated hours and requested to book for new flight tickets, while we filed for a refund of N679,852.80,of which we were told we take 45 working days. When the 45 working days elapsed we sent several emails with no one responding, not until we sent a relative to visit the branch in Lagos, then we were told we would have to wait for another 45 working days. Despite the several visits made to the branch, up-till today, 11th may 2022 we are yet to receive a refund

Several calls have been made to Qatar airways offices in England and Doha, who confirmed that the money has been released to Lagos, so we should proceed to the branch to collect our cash.

Qatar Airways Challenging and extremely rude attitude of Ground Staff at Delhi Airport

We have a big family of frequent travelers from USA to New Delhi. Booking Reference # 3GCQ36. We travelled along with my wife and elder brother. Surinder Kaur Ticket # [protected] Amrik Singh ticket # [protected] and Harsajan Singh [protected]. We were so happy with our trip from SFO to New Delhi that we recommended the airline to my mother in law traveled from New Delhi to SFO.

Unfortunately all my good experience turned into the worst ever travel experience May 7th we were on our return to USA trip Flight QR579. We were told that we have more than 23 KG in baggage and my wife was requesting to negotiate when Mr. Dave Supervisor at Checkin in counter came up and loudly shouted at my family and asked the chekin staff to charge for every gram despite we agreed to pay overcharge. We paid almost $400 for overcharge and we were asked to rearrange our luggage several times and travelled without our medicine and travel clothing and stuff due to harassment by Mr. Dave. At Doha I was single out for detail search and also rudely asked to even our hand carrier to check in- Extremely disappointed even did not took a glass of water during my journey. My age is 62, My wife is 58 and Brother 70 faced terrible humiliation at Delhi airport and travelled without medicine and travel clothing. Needless to mention I spent my whole life in Hospitality industry and fully aware of the values of good customer care.

Desired outcome: Compensation of overweight charges will be enough to keep business relations alive. Staff at Delhi airport needs to know the meaning of Respect and should have " "Heart for Service."

Qatar Airways Cancelling flight ticket

Hi Team,

While I was doing checking for my travel From Melbourne/Australia to Tunis/Tunisia on 7 of Jan 2022 with my family (my wife and 3 kids (2 children + 1 Infant) and while the customer officer was putting bag tags on my luggage, she informed me that she has to undo everything because there is a flight has been cancelled. I asked why. She informed me to go the customer care desk which I have done and after waiting the lady told us there is an issue with Tunisian authorities which they didn't allow Qatarwaiys to fly planes to Tunis. I called the Tunisian embassy and Tunisian authorities who confirmed there was no issue with Tunisian borders. After long discussion with the customer care lady, we have been left with no choice rather than to go back home which cost us about AU$120 for maxi cab and lost AU$240 for PCR tests. Hence I am writing to ask Qatar Airways for refund for the above the cost (AU$340) as well to speed up for the refund of the all tickets under booking reference 6GZIPA

Also, please that when I Checked my phone. I found a cancellation notification from Qatar airways sent to me at 20:00pm (AEST) while the flight is scheduled for 21:15pm so about 75minutes before departure which is not reasonable at all.

Desired outcome: Refund of AU$340 as compensation while I am still awaiting for the tickets price refund which is about AU$9400 which has been claimed by the travel agent I used to book the ticket and no reply so far

Qatar Airways Booking and tickets

MY NAME IS KWAME GYASI DANQUAH, Booking reference number:33UK10. I was supposed to travel from the Philadelphia INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, USA iast year but could not make it because of the Covid 19 pandemic.i re-scheduled for February, 2022. Unfortunately the Clinic could not process my Covid 19 results so I had to re-schedule again for March 31, 2022. .I got to the airport only to be told that my ticket was cancelled.After a long talk with a very reasonable lady reprensatative Iwas able to fly the next day to Accra through Doha. I had to pay a penalty any time i had to re-schedule though it was not my fault directly. I was supposed to return on April 27, 2022. However there was a heavy rainfall on the Kumasi-Accra highway in Ghana which resulted in accidents and delays. I got to the Kotoka International Airport about 30 minutes before departure so i was unable to board the plane. I was asked to pay an additional $285 for the next flight on Sunday May 1 ,2022which I did. On Sunday May 1, 2022 i got to the airport but I was told that my ticket was cancelled and there was no Qatar Airways representative at the airport who could help me.so I had to find an accomodation in Accra..On Monday May 2, 2022 I had to spend hours on the phone with representative from Qatar airways . He told me that the only way he could help me was to cancel my May 1, 2022 reservation, issue me the refound of the $285 and re-schedule me for Monday May 2, 2022 at an extra cost of $331.20 . No explanation was given on why my ticket was cancelled without my knowledge on May 1 ,2022 after paying the $285.06 in full. and why did I have to pay $331.20 ?I had to spend extra money on accomodation covid 19 tests transportation and feeding all these extra days in Accra Ghana. I have travelled with more than 15 different airlines worldwide. I am therefore asking Qatar Airways to look into my complaint and compensate me to make me feel that you really care about your customers, passengers and the whole human race. Qatar Airways Air fare stolen

Qatar staff forced me to buy a ticket onward route when traveling to the USA, when I never usually have to, they were being nosy not knowing their place by abusing authority to force people to buy so they can steal money and not refund it. I was given a refund number but the case was never processed since December. All their phone numbers for their centers in the USA are disconnected. They work with PayPal both to steal money as there seems to be no one bothered at PayPal for this situation either.

Qatar Airways Boarding denial and forcing to buy new ticket

I was travelling from Toronto to Kolkata India and return.. The outgoing flight was fine. Before leaving Canada I talked with the airlines few time what I have to do during return as their system provided me a 26 hrs layover in DOHA for which I had booked a hotel. They repeatedly said that as I am fully vaccinated and hold a Canadian passport, I don't have to do anything else.

In India when I asked them the same question before I left, they told that I have to register through the GOVT. Website Ethiraj. When I did, the website asked me for a hotel reservation done through discover Qatar. I call Qatar airways again.

They told me at least 6 times that my hotel reservation (done by me) is fine.

All I have to do is to send the reservation to discoverQatar — they provided me the e mail address – and I did accordingly.

However at the airport they Denied boarding in Kolkata (on 13th April) as my hotel was not booked through Discover Qatar website. They forced me to cancel the ticked and made me by a new ticket to fly on 14th of April. This cost me ~$1700. As this flight didn't have a lay over I took the same flight from Doha to Toronto. In spite of this they made ma buy the whole ticket, not the Kolkata Doha segment

Although it is airlines inefficiency and they repeatedly provided me with MISINFORMATION and forced me to buy a new ticket, they didn't accept the responsibility. Furthermore, they could have also just changed CCU-DOH ticket from 13th to 14th April, as flight from DOH to YYZ remained the same.

Although, I asked for this – you didn’t do and forced me to buy a new ticket.

So they charged me twice for the same ticket – this is an AWEFUL business practice – almost close to a scam.

When I wrote to them (CAS-1915312-K4C3S4), I get a `formed' reply

I also paid $70 for assigned seating on March 2, 2022, and received confirmation and numerous reminders from your airlines, so Qatar was aware of my contact information.

The flights to Bangalore were uneventful and pleasant.

However, on March 14th, the day after I landed in Bangalore, I received an email (attached) from Hotwire stating that my flight back to NYC on March 27th had been cancelled by Qatar without any alternatives and to contact them. I checked my email and there was no notification of this from Qatar even though I had received previous emails from Qatar.

I called [protected] (was on the phone with them for 1 hour and 37 minutes, see attached phone log) and the customer service rep told me that Qatar cancelled the QR575 schedule from March 26th, (the day before my return flight) and there were no options that could get me to DOHA on Sunday so I could catch QR703 to JFK. She told me she was going to call Qatar and put me on hold and finally came back and said that Qatar didn’t offer her any alternatives and I would have to cancel the QR703 (DOH JFK sector) as I would not be able to catch the flight and would lose the fare if I didn’t cancel. So I took her advice and cancelled the flight.

I called Qatar Airways India next (#[protected]) and asked for an explanation and was told the QR575 flights would be cancelled from March 26th, the day before my flight. I asked your employee, since it was not an “Act of God” and must have been planned well before March 14th, why I was not informed about it and he had no answer.

I had to get back to Connecticut by the March 29th and I was desperate and asked if there were any available seats so I could get back on time and was shocked to learn QR573 leaving five hours later and I would be able to catch QR701 which inconveniently would get me half a day later back home.

I was offered the seat for sale and as I did not have any alternatives I purchased it for $3521.23 and flew back home. A copy of the invoice and the tickets are attached. The booking reference was RHKM4Y

Because of the incompetence and/or the irresponsibility of your staff, I had to deal with the stress of these flight cancellations half the world away and had to pay an additional $3521.23 when there was an alternative.

I also note that even by your Customer Service Standards (https://www.qatarairways.com/en-us/legal/customer-service-commitment.html) your airline has fallen short.

Please refund me the full amount of $3521.23 and the $35 I paid for the seat reservation for the original return flight.

If I do not get a refund, I will take the necessary steps to recover my funds by legal means and make formal complaints to the Federal and Connecticut Consumer protection agencies.

Qatar Airways Covid ticket reuse or rebate

Dear Sirs

With regard to the COVID-Cancelled booking LJL542 No 157-[protected] (attached), I was told when I called the Qatar helpdesk 2 months back that I could reuse the ticket or get my money back.

I was not told that this was a time limited commitment.

When I called just now to confirm new travel dates I was told that the ticket was no longer valid and that I could not rebook it or get my money back.

Given how expensive the ticket was; given also the circumstances; and given especially the assurances your Customer Care team told me when I called 2 months ago, this is not acceptable.

If I had ben so warned earlier I would have redeemed the ticket.

I need to urgently either rebook this ticket or get my money back. Anything other than that is tantamount to theft.

I do not wish to engage in a long argument with you, or have to resort to writi9ng to all board members, complaints authorities in the UK and Qatar or present my case on your social media page. I just need this fixed now.

Please be so good as to get back to me with a solution.

Qatar Airways Confirmed booking for a flight to me and when try to board, I was not included on the flight !

I have booked and paid for a flight from Auckland to Sofia on a flight QA915 on 15 April 2022. Booking reference VJ9X9C and ticket - 157-[protected]. Have all e-mails available.

I have flight from Wanganui to Auckland to meet the boarding requirements for this flight.

When approaching the desk i have been told that i am not on the flight.

The people at the desk help me to contact the reservation side for more details.

The person who was helping me told me that the best he can do is to send me a booking for 15 of April 2022 for flight QA915 departing on Sunday( 2 days later).

I do not leave in Auckland and have to stay in Auckland for two days.

Had to cancel car bookings in Sofia and all arrangements i made.

All this lead me to:

1.wasting two valuable days of my journey to Bulgaria , with reason to help my old parents, because they are not well.

2. Extra expenses , not that I can handle easily.

I believe in Qatar airlines services , that is why I have history of traveling with you.

Was very disappointed from this situation.

I am booked now for the flight from Auckland to Sofia on 17 April 2022 . Hope that will be ok.

I would like to ask for covering of my extra expenses regarding this situation.

Desired outcome: Compensation for the extra accommodation for two days in Auckland. The hotel bill is 260 NZD and i am guessing the total about 350 NZD

Qatar Airways O87men, first flight impossible

First: I like Qatar Airlines and it is only because of the 1. flight out of 6. It can't be explained neither at the help site nor at the airport. It's about a refund for the flight PR1818, now unfortunately the whole flight is cancelled

That's the email which I have written

Good evening dear Sir or Madam!

I have just cancelled the booking reference O87MEN.

I am very satisfied with Qatar Airways and I want to take the return flight as it was booked!

But there was a little problem regarding the first connection:

Flight PR1818 from Davao with Philippine Airlines should arrive at 19.30 o'clock in Manila.

The following flight with Qatar Airways was starting at 18.35 o'clock.

That's really impossible: minus 1 hour and 5 minutes

I have tried to find another flight with Philippine Airlines on April 10, but everything was sold out.

If I had cancelled the whole booking, I was not sure if I could start my trip successfully. Beyond that, the refund takes more than 1 week.

So I was booking a flight with Cebu Pacific from General Santos City to Manila to be there on time.

Once again: I will be very pleased to travel back with Qatar Airlines: QR1499, QR932 and Philippine Airlines PR1823.

That should not been cancelled, please!

It's only about the first (Impossible) flight: PR1818.

Qatar Airways Refund Not Received

Hello Sir/Madam,

I booked a flight ticket (PNF: SUZDVQ) for the below passengers in Qatar Airways on 04/04/2021. I have cancelled that ticket around the end of April month. Qatar airways agreed to pay the full amount (5,153 USD) and the customer service representative asked me to wait for 60 Days from the date of cancellation. So far I haven't received my ticket cancellation amount yet. This amount is huge to me. I need a help in resolving my problem and get my refund.

Qatar Airways Worst experience ever!!

I was extremely disappointed and devastated by the Qatar Airways staff at the Douha airport; it was one of my worst experiences with the airline; they were extremely rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. I had a baby with me, and we missed our flight to Dallas because our first flight got delayed cause they decided to wait for 20 people at Dubai airport who had issues with their paperwork. When we arrived in Douha, my baby and I struggled, and I spent hours negotiating with the rude staff to find me a convenient solution, they showed no pity for my predicament ‘holding my baby crying for hours’. I initially booked a bassinet seat on my flight from Douha to Dallas because the flight duration was 16 hours. I paid extra money for that.

The only solution they offered was to put me on the next flight at 8:00 a.m., in an aisle seat, and they mentioned that this was the only option we had like take it or leave it! How can I spend 16 hours on my lab with a baby?

What if there were no seats available on the next flight?

Here is a list of my concerns:

1. They do not provide hotels.

2. They refused to upgrade me to business class on the next flight as compensation for the bad experience and inconvenience of my flight being delayed. The staff said it was fully booked, but I was able to upgrade and pay triple the price to handle this situation. They must not lie about this.

3. They took two hours to get me my baby stroller, which meant I had to hold my baby for two hours and couldn't comfort her. We were so exhausted because it was 1:00 a.m.

4. After all, I tried to contact customer service to try to get a refund for the $1800 upgrade charge, but the customer service representative refused and stated that they don't offer such compensation, and she later ignored all of my replies, and the claim case isn't even closed!

I wish we could raise our concerns to upper management or have the option to escalate our cases, but it appears that the company is in disarray.

Desired outcome: Refund to the upgrade charges $1800

Qatar Airways Bad customer experience

Hello,

I am QR Silver member #[protected] since 2013 and recently had a round trip through QR from Toronto to Islamabad. I am really disappointed to have a really bad customer experience considering the fact I am also a silver member. I have laid down the reasons and I really want some compensation for being such a loyal member:

1. Though every time I am greeted with a courtesy visit by a flight staff for being a silver member to introduce themselves and if I need any assistance during the flight. I am not sure if it's just a formality as I only asked for assistance for once and I was disappointed. I requested if I can get a water bottle which was refused. I didn't feel like to introduce myself again that I am a silver member and If I can be given a water bottle just for that small reason. Secondly, I didn't want to keep telling every flight attendant that I am a silver member for a distinguished treatment, in that case it was just a water bottle.

2. Since I was travelling with my family and I wanted our seats together and of my own choice, I paid for seat selection in advance but to my disappointment, my seats were changed from Frankfurt to Doha without my consent. As mentioned before I am a frequent traveler and I take seat selection and travel arrangements very seriously well in advance. I was really disappointed to see when I got the actual boarding passes at Frankfurt QR desk that my seats had been changed. I prefer the seats in earlier rows which I even paid for but I was changed to later rows as the plane got changed. This is not really acceptable to me and I need full refund of my price that I paid for my seats.

3. I had reserved Child meal for my 2 kids and you can see it in the attachment but during flights my kids were not offered Child meal as the crew said it was not reserved and they didnt see the request. Again this was a big disappointment for me. I am not sure if this was due to plane change but the experience should be seamless to the customers but it was not unfortunately.

Again, as mentioned I am QR silver member for over 10 years and was really disappointed during my recent trip. I really want some financial compensation for my advanced paid seat selection (which was not offered to me) and also extend my silver member tier for another year (i.e. till Dec 2023) to compensate for my bad customer experience. I do reserve my right to voice these concerns on social media forums if not addressed satisfactorily. Thank you!

Qatar Airways Business Class Upgrade

Qatar Air is refusing to refund a Business Class upgrade payment and it failed to provide the paid-for upgrade. I turned up for a flight from LA to South Africa at a time when no PCR tests were required in the US, and no PCR tests were required for transit passengers in Doha. The Qatar Airways site had no mention of a PCR test requirement, as all other airlines I have used provide. The day before the flight I was able to check-in and offered to upgrade to Business Class, which I purchased. But Qatar Airways did not allow me on the scheduled flight and I had to call their customer service to rebook. I was told that the upgrade I had paid for was not available for that specific flight, and when I asked for the refund was told to speak to Qatar Air at check-in to obtain it. I did so in Doha, but the agent told me that the flight is full and they cannot upgrade me, but that I should call or write to customer service to obtain the refund. I wrote to Qatar Airways Customer Service, explained that I have paid for an upgrade but did not receive the upgrade, and asked for a refund, or an equivalent upgrade on the return flight. The representative's reply was that they owe me nothing and repeatedly refused to escalate the complaint to a supervisor. Qatar Airways received a substantial payment for a service it did not provide and is refusing to refund.

Desired outcome: Refund for a paid-for product that was not received.

Qatar Airways Refund

My flight from Dublin to Bangkok was cancelled due to covid problems Qatar said i would receive a refund within one month but no refund came. I have phoned several times. I suspect they have computers but despite giving my refund request ref no and flight ref number they always say we cannot find your records then 15 mins later they find the records and say " sorry you will have your refund in 2 weeks" then after waiting 3 weeks there is still no money so i phone again and receive the treatment again...I have asked for contact details of their legal dept but they ignore my requests for said info
