I paid 48.07 on my Visa on Aug 13/09 for access to obtain cpoies of my marriage certificate, but when I tried to use the website I could not get into it.

I signed up and they immediately took my money out of my credit card. I couldn't get the information that had advertised. They are scam artists. They pulled up a record from 10 years ago which is on our Waukesha County Circuit Courts. They wanted to change me more money to get additional information. They didn't give me any information. I know that there is information out there regarding the person I am investigating. I just want my money back. There is no phone number to contact them. They are a fraud. What can I do?

I paid them the money to run background check on my self but wanted more money, looking closely discovered
that the service is going to be a monthly subscription (which was not stated when I paid them the money). I stopped and declined to pay them any more money. I asked them to return my money but they send me a "canned" response to my request. I replied them back asking to return my money and waiting fo their response.
Can anyone give me any tip as to what can I do other than complaining to FTC, BBB and Kansas Attorney General?
Thanks for any suggestion that any body can provide me.

I was searching for a relative, with whom I had lost contact for several years. I checked PublicRecordsChecks.com site, and found that the relative was listed in the obituary section. I paid the $14.99 for basic membership, then proceeded to get more information on deceased. When I attempted to, the PRC site had a pop up window stating I could only access the information if I paid additional monies. I did not pay any additional monies being that I was under the assumption that I had access with the basic membership. I made several attempts to access information only to have this pop-up window prompting for addiftional monies. I contacted the Customer Service Dept, the only way PRC allows it's consumers to do so, by an email. What adds insult to injury concerning my expierience with PRC, is that the person I was searching for was my Father. After making some very sad calls to other family members to notify them that my Father was deceased, and emotionally breaking down and being numb for days, I recieved a call from a distant relative who had heard the news ...and called to tell me that my Father was very much ALIVE! After gathering my senses, again I contacted PRC to let them know that the information they have in thier database is incorrect and that I demand a full refund! To date, I have only recieved computer generated email responses that do not discuss my refund. Even have one email from PRC that states I can access thier site FREE for 7 DAYS...B.S.! I have contacted my bank, filed a claim, and hope to have my $14.99 returned to my account in the next few days. CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO EXPRESS WHAT THIS FALSE INFORMATION DID TO ME. I AM HAPPY TO SAY THAT I AM REUNITED WITH MY FATHER. A HAPPY ENDING IN SPITE OF THE BLATANT FRAUD!

There is no telephone to talk to anyone and ask for service or complain for no service . I agree that this is a loop sell operation but don't know if it is legal or not, but I am determined to find out and see what can be done. I know one thing I have learned to go online and check to see if any future services I respond to have had complaints. That is what I should have done in the first place but I am 64 years old and thought this new way of buying over the internet was checked out by the service providers and vendors before they collect funds for these services. This is hard on really honest people trying to make a decent living over the internet and sell their services. We as consumers really have to be on the watch the scammers or everywhere and they don't care who they scam.

I enrolled on May 8 2010 paid the fee with my paypal account thinking they could help me find my nephew and tell him his mom died. We haven't head from him since 1998. I read their advertisement and believed this was my only hope. Every time you log onto the search menu listing such as deaths or people search they ask for another fee to give that information. The add says the fee covers all these searches. I sent a message to the support and also received their generic responce letter ( the same one I have read others have received) . I never got any information so far so today I sent an e-mail to paypal regarding payment receipt# and the message inquiring about this Public RecordsChecks.com business they collect payments for and I also demanded a refund put back into my account. I will go back on line and let this site know what the outcome is as soon as I hear anything. I also plan to notify paypal that there is a possible scam and that I am dissatisfied with Publicrecordschecks.com

I must be just another of many, I paid yesterday and cannot access the sites.
I am sure initially I was misled to believe I would be able to view records in
the Uk. They have replied to my complaint saying they are US based and
don't claim to have UK records.
Are they a scam, can't anything be done about it?
