Progressive Casualty Insurance was told false information

The last two times I have gotten in touch with progressive I have been treated like a complete i####. I called in mid December before my policy renewal to see if I could pay a partial payment of $175. I only knew I could do this because I did it the year before during the holidays. The guy on the phone told me I couldn't and I said, that's interesting considering I had the year before. So he talked to a supervisor, told me they could accept the $175 and told me the rest of the payment would be due with my January payment at the end of January. Today I signed onto my progressive account and it said my policy was going to cancel if they didn't recieve the rest of the money by the 14th. I waited for 15 minutes to be told that they could not combine the two and I needed to make a payment still to avoid cancellation. I am floored. I was told false information and instead of trying to honor it and fix the problem I was treated poorly. I have never had bad experiences with progressive until the last two months. Thank god i check my account regularly to make sure everything is good otherwise I could have continued this month not even realizing my coverage was about to be cancelled.

Progressive Casualty Insurance progressive protecting the at fault driver

To whom it may concern, I am a client at progressive insurance and am writing in regards to a accident that I was recently involved in. I was wrongfully charged by Progressive with the accident, which took place on October 4, 2016, around 9:30 p.m. At the scene of the accident, the trooper didn't fault anyone with the accident, even though it was clear that the other party hit me (his damage was in the front of his vehicle). The other party was driving a 18 wheeler, and was also a client from progressive insurance. I called the next day and spoke with higher authority at fhp, who assured me that the report would be rewritten, and the other party would be charged with the accident as the evidence clearly stated. After taking the report to progressive, I called on 11/16/16 around 2-4 p.m to check the status, and the woman stated to me that no matter what the report states, they will go by the other driver statement, and not by the law, which is absurd. When the accident was first reported, the woman that I spoke with gave me the impression that they were investigating the accident, and will do things lawfully. Instead they have decided to side with the other driver/ client, even though he was the one charged with the accident.

Progressive Casualty Insurance car coverage

I have had progressive for 10 years. I have full coverage, my son wrecked and totaled out my jeep. They offered me a ridiculous amount for payout, cannot even come close to replace my jeep. I showed them there is not another jeep across the united states that I can buy for the amount they are offering me, and they claim the price is market value! I can't prove its not, but they can't show me where they are getting there prices from. Unbelievable how they treat there customers. 10 years I have paid for my insurance never late, clean record and they cannot give me a price to be able to replace the car I had... not asking for extra, just want to replace the vehicle I had...

Progressive Casualty Insurance refusal to pay my claim

Progressive refuses to pay my claim, when their client was at fault. Their excuses are there was no police report, no witness, and the descriptions of what occurred are different, and they have to side with their client. I was told by the representative that in this case each person would take care of their own damage. They already decided not to pay the claim, before I even sent the pictures.

I have sent them a written statement, of what occurred, estimate of the damage, and pictures. No response from Progressive

The representative told me to send pictures and they would be able to determine who was at fault.

I called the representatives supervisor, who was nasty, and uncooperative, to discuss the claim. I stated, you have the pictures, so can tell your client is at fault. He said "Oh, we can't tell from the pictures, we just want to put it in our records." This is ridiculous. ( Call date to supervisor 8/31/2016 at 3:35 pm.)
Progressive would not even come and physically look at the damage.

Someone has to be at fault, and someone is lying.

I assume Progressive would have to make a double payout for the damage to my vehicle and their client's, and this is why the claim was denied, along with the fact that my vehicle only has liability coverage.

Progressive Casualty Insurance claims issue / lack of communication

May 6, 2016 Friday, around 5:50 pm in Anchorage, Alaska.
Progressive Claims Agent: Mr. Preston Orme / Progressive Assessment Agent: Mr. Ken Morris / Progressive agent at Fix Auto?: Ms. Kelsey (LNU)

On May 6, 2016 at 5:50pm in Anchorage, Alaska - I was side swiped in the vehicle stated above.
On June 1st, Ms. Kelsey called me stating that my car is considered total loss. June 2nd I asked what amount they were offering… $7, 200 My counter offer was $7, 950.
Progressive Invoice #[protected], per phone call they agreed to $7, 783.90 and minus the pay off the remaining amount to lien holder and minus the $1, 325.11 to buy back my car. And the remaining amount of $4, 447.35 to me. They took out $183.90 for registration and title. Ms. Kelsey stated I had to end of June 6th at 6:00pm to turn in the car rental.
I then dropped off the car rental at Enterprise about 5:00pm and they drove me back to Fix Auto, around 5:10pm, luckily doors were still open because they close at 5:00pm and she was still talking to a customer.
Ms. Flo – Fix Auto Receptionist, said my car was not ready, and Progressive agent did not contact them that I was picking up my vehicle. And she did not have keys to open the gate to get my car out. And they are closed for the weekend.
I immediately called Mr. Orme, who answered and I explained to him they didn’t have my car ready for me to take. He stated on the phone, “Oh, didn’t Kelsey tell you it is not drivable?” and also I have to call a tow truck to tow it away at my own expense because I bought it back. I said that, “I drove it here and I should drive it out.” And that the shop should put the doors back on.
Mr. Orme said he’ll call me back after he makes a few phone calls. He said they can only cover me one more day of rental. And the remaining days I have the rental is my own expense because I bought back the car.
Enterprise did not have any vehicle available until Saturday at 2:00pm. Ms. Flo – Fix Auto Receptionist was kind enough to give me a ride home.
Progressive Insurance has failed to call Fix Auto to tell them I was getting my car. Also Progressive Insurance did not telling me the condition of my car. To my knowledge I thought my car was ready for me to pick up and was in drivable condition.
Progressive Insurance needs to tell Fix Auto to put the car doors back on, at least in the condition that it was driveable when I drove it to the shop.
I had to pay $16.99 for the first day rental (of which was the CDW coverage). I went back and waived of the extra coverage. I believe Progressive Insurance should reimburse me for any upcoming rental charges until my vehicle is ready in a driveable matter.
Note: I have not cashed in the check they gave me in the amount of $4, 447.35.
Thank you for your attention to this matter,

I'm confused. If the car was totaled, and they gave you the money for the car, why did you think it would be fixed and drive able? I understand that you drove the car there, but if it's totaled I doubt it will hold up for very long. Most folks just take the insurance money and use that to go purchase another vehicle, unless they can fix the car themselves or have someone that wants to buy it as a totaled car.

Progressive Casualty Insurance worthless insurance - do not buy!!!

Do not buy progressive insurance for your rv, boat, and possibly for any other vehicle. I had a full coverage “stated value” policy for over ten years. I paid extra (Around $500 yearly) to cover the rv for a value of $19, 000.
Then I had one claim this year due to a windstorm ripping off my roof, plus a roof on a much newer rv beside mine, and a large oak limb behind it. Right from the beginning on the phone the adjuster talked like he had already made up his mind that he would find an “exclusion” in the policy to deny my claim.
Sure enough, he looked at the rv for 5 minutes, took some pictures, and proceeded to tell me that the roof was old and damage was due to “wear and tear” and thus, not covered. They would not even offer to cover a portion of the damage even though it was clearly due to high wind and rain, not age. I continue to complain to management, the bbb, the state insurance division, and others. But progressive continues to come up with excuses for their position. There are only two excuses: 1) greed, 2) the policy is worthless.
Of course the roof had a little age. It is a 1992 winnebago. They knew the age of the roof, yet gladly took the high premiums every year. The point is, their “exclusions page” deep in the policy is much longer than the coverage page and is purposely written vaguely to give them many ways to deny your claim. I am not the first to discover this. Many thousands before have complained too, but they do not care.
Do not buy progressive insurance. Do not buy progressive insurance.

Progressive Casualty Insurance damage to my vehicle, unethical behavior.

I was involved in a 5 car accident and I was the very front car. The vehicle behind me was pushed into me in a chain reaction. The "at fault" party has Progressive Insurance. I finally took my car in to be inspected, after "I" had to call and set it up, no one ever called form progressive, and I waited a week!

Upon the impact my vehicle was shoved to the left and hit the center wall on the highway. The damage was minor in the front, but my wheel had some damage and an alignment was needed. My Front bumper was also scratched. I point this out to the "adjustor" and they write up the estimate. An hour later they come out and inform me they will not be covering the front of my car, because it is not accident related. I thought I was going to explode. They basically were calling me a liar to my face. I asked for the supervisor and he agreed with the "adjustor". I took the estimate they had written for the back of my car and left.

I called the claim rep and, of course, he agreed with the adjustor. They just screwed me out what was rightfully mine. I am not one to take something that is not rightfully mine. I did not cause this damage nor the accident and they had no compassion or apologies whatsoever. Trust me, I spoke my mind and let them know exactly what I thought! This is poor business practice and now I understand why they have so many stupid commercials with FLO, they screw me and pay her a bundle to act like a D*** A**! As far as I am concerned, Progressive can take FLO and their awful business practices and shove them up their insurance A**!

Progressive Casualty Insurance payment not received

My car was backed into and totaled as the car in front of me was waiting to pull out onto Colorado Blvd. in Denver. The Claim # is [protected]. The matter was resolved except for the rental car issue. Richard A. Hood, from Progressive [protected]) who was representing A - Z Limo Service told me that all of my rental car costs would be taken care of. By the time I spoke to him I had already rented a car from Enterprise at DIA for one day and planned to keep it until he called me back. He reached me the nest day and told me, "It's late so hang onto that car tonight and we will set you up with an Enterprise car." That is who Progressive does business with. So we kept the car that night, even though we were intending to take it back later that night, but didn't because he assured me he would take care of it. He didn't, and I got stuck with the bill for the second day: $214.93. I called him about this but he never returned it, nor has he reimbursed me since it happened .

Progressive Casualty Insurance boat insurance scam alert

Like most insurance companies - they want your premiums on time however they really don't intend to pay claims. Boat insurance - Progressive now has a totally different deductible called "Named Storm deductible". It can be 5 times the normal deductible which is also very high. These days they name every tropical depression. During the Hurricane season there is almost always a named storm in the box near Florida and the other area's that get threatened. Basically during those periods you will only be covered for catastrophic losses since your deductible goes to $5000. Who is overseeing these insurance company practices. Particularly since you are required to have insurance there should be some oversight. I have other specific complaints but I won't get into that long list. There should be additional criteria identified - ie the claim has to be in excess of $xxx or the named storm has to have landfall within 100 miles or some specific range. Terrible company - all of the TV commercials need to be paid for somehow I guess?

Progressive Casualty Insurance problems with claim. fraud company

I purchased a brand new Rolls Royce 2 weeks later some jealous hater keyed my car in my parking space at my condo. My entire car must be repainted and all the scratched parts must be replaces. Progressive is trying to get out of paying by putting an investigator on me whom allegedly thinks im pulling some kind of scam on a brand new car that was 2 weeks old which now i have lost a ton of money in depreciation and the car is close to 70k to fix according to there adjuster. I am a very successful person who has worked hard to get where i am at today. I had to hire a layer against these piece of craps to get them to fix the car. I was even willing to payout of pocket but the attorney is against it and wants me to wait which is stupid because i just bought the damn car and now its sitting at a damn body shop. I have video surveillance in my condo showing my car coming into the parking and leaving the same the car was taken downstairs to inspect and to file the police report. This is nothing but stress and a headache dealing with these monkeys. This claim is common sense but this cheap insurance company is to stupid to see. I changed over to Geico the hell with these clowns. Anyone with anything of any value DONT USE PROGRESSIVE. They are a cheap and unprofessional insurance company and i would tell anyone who treasures there goods to find another insurer who will actually care. Progressive case # [protected]

Progressive Casualty Insurance auto insurance policy

Purchased an auto insurance policy for a new vehicle, filled out all of the particulars and payed initial payment. On the way to dmv was pulled over as vehicle had no current tags, officer said the paperwork Progressive had provided me was not legal in my state. Called Progressive's help line and explained I needed an online insurance card or an email with the correct documents. The person on the phone with me seemed to have a decent command of the english language, but seemed utterly befuddled as to how to provide the documents. The officer left me with over 700 dollars worth of tickets. I was very lucky the car was not towed. Somewhere between the 20 and 30 minute mark the Progressive helper sent me emails with the "correct" documents. Having printed the new documents I went to the DMV to license the vehicle, 3 hours later my number was called at the DMV, where the clerk rejected the documents. I got home and contacted Progressive, after being hung up on twice, I asked for an immediate refund and to cancel the policy. I was given a name and a reference number. This all occured on 9/23/15, I was "insured" with Progressive for less than 6 hours. It is currently 10/4/2015 and I have received no refund. To summarize, Progressive sold me a bogus policy costing me over 700 dollars in tickets and adding dings to my driving record, they then wasted over 3 hours of my time, and to follow it up they stole my insurance payment.Lying thieves, so if you want to feel like you have been prison raped, go with Progressive, if that doesnt sound fun to you, run, dont walk, away from the single worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

Progressive Casualty Insurance insurance blunder

My husband had rear ended my parents, I'll figure 23 days ago. We all knew that he was at fault so there was no issue there. The whole deal in the end was that my truck turned out to be a total loss and that once my truck was looked at and a value placed upon it, that Progressive would pay the remaining balance owed on my truck and we would receive the remaining balance.

Here's the reason that I said it's been 23 days at least, we received a letter in the mail today 8/24 from my lien holder saying that we were 22 days late on a payment. First off, I'm never ever late paying anything. We've both worked hard to build our credit and I won't risk that. Second, this should have been taken care of already by Progressive. It was what we were told anyway.

My first thought was that maybe we were over paid and it's just a balance that we owe to finish the lien off. Nope, Progressive has not paid a single dime to them. As far as they're concerned when I checked the claim status, it's closed. According to Capital One, we still owe the full lien amount.

Now I get to play phone tag with the insurance people again and worry about my husband's credit. I'm so glad that I am not with this company anymore but it just seems like this is the mistake that just keeps nagging at you.

Anthony Bennett Claim Representative and his staff in Houston, Texas are very unprofessional and unyielding. My vehicle was determined a loss due to expenses related with the replacemenht of interior components after an airbag deployment such as an armrest $720, a door panel $1445 and a headliner $1095. The request to have these items reconsidered was denied. Without little consideration of the overall value, customer inconvenience and standing as a customer my vehicle was taken from me with little opportunity o re purchase after the disposition. There was no body, mechanical or structural damage. This was a very hars way to conduct busy and demonstrate goodwill.

Progressive Casualty Insurance progressive does not care about their customers

My dad had Progressive insurance for 10 years, but we noticed for the past few years that his rates were going up for no reason. His last renewal notice was high by almost $500, so he called them to clarify last week. They informed him that he had 2 points on his history and as a result his rate increased. He was shocked because he was not aware of this, so he went to the DMV to retrieve his full vehicle history, and noticed that it was spotless other than a 4 stop sign he ran in early 2011; not given any points for it. I called them the next day so they could rectify this, and the lady was very rude but gave me the fax number to send over the papers from the DMV, she said that I could check back the next day to ensure they had received it.
I called the next evening and spent close to 3 hours dealing with this situation. As it turns out, Progressive "awards" points to their drivers if they have any violations, whether their driving records are clean or not. She knew that this was not showing on my dad's driving history, but regardless, they still increased his rates. I requested proof of paperwork for this, and she told me that she could only give me a paper with the date of the violation, but not the point system given as this was an "internal decision", so regardless she couldn't help us. Not only were the news bad, but the way I was provided this information was rude and this lady sounded bothered to be on the phone with me.
I am very upset with them because despite of my dad's loyalty to them, they have had no consideration towards him. I got on the phone with Geico right after that and the lady I spoke to was nice and pleasant, and you can really tell the difference in training that these company associates receive. We also insured his home with Geico at the same time. Some places work really hard to provide great customer service, and support people that need it, not take advantage of them, Progressive is not one of them. I have never put a complaint before against anyone, but this has tipped me over, and I will tell as many people as I can, not to insure with Progressive.

Progressive Casualty Insurance non-fault accident

I have had Progressive for 2 and a half years now. I have my home, autos & bike on with them. I haven't had not one claim till last week. I slid on black ice and hit a tree in my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 on the night of Jan 28 2013. This truck was emaculate before that. I called the next morning to make a claim. It took a week for a rep to get to me. They want to know these things before they can help me. Accident scene, Where I was coming from?, Where I was going?, Who I was going to see?, For what reason?, Their name number and address. My phone carrier & last months phone record, My girl freinds name, number & address (doesn't live with me). My place of work, What I do for a living, How many hours I work a week. The person I bought the truck from, his name number and address? I can't produce all this information, I also feel they are invading my rights and my privacy. I spent hours on the phone talking to their agents only after getting calls returned and all their reps are ignorant and arrogant. They all work in the same building in Lancaster. When I called to talk to Corperate other than Lancaster I get directed right back to Lancaster. And they do not take complaints. Today, I just switched my home, autos and motorcycle elsewhere. Looks like I will be driving around with a busted up truck for a long time, till I sell it. I will never go back to Progressive and will advise others to stay away from them. They are not there to help you.

Are you sure the person you talked to was from Progressive? That all sounds very strange for an insurance company to ask you. When I've been in accidents in the past, I've given all of my necessary information (name, policy #, police report info, etc) and then am given a claim #. When a rep calls later, they reference all this same information. What you experienced sounds like some strange scam.

Progressive Casualty Insurance claim complaint

My car was totaled by a shipping company who was shipping my vehicle about 400 miles. The driver hit my car on something and totaled it. The driver and company had Progressive Insurance. At first Progressive was very understanding, polite, and made me feel that they were going to promptly take care of this situation. I was promised a rental car for at least a week. 1 day later Progressive notified me that the rental car would not be covered because since my vehicle was being shipped, it was considered cargo and that meant no rental car for me. They compared my car to cabbage, melons, and some other cargo item that had no comparison to a vehicle that I get around with. Am I going to drive a cabbage? My car was labeled as "cargo" and if I had my "cargo" it would be a 'car' go, but it was no car-go.

I was taken back that Progressive did not honor their word. On top of that, my claim got switched to a cargo department on the East Coast. It was such a challenge to get a hold of them. When I would call the regular customer service line they kept transferring me to the original guy who happened to be on vacation for a week. The notes in the system were not updated and no one seemed to know what was going on.

I received a great deal of attitude from Progressive and I had to do a lot of work in order for this claim to be taken care of. They tried shorting me the "sales tax" money because they were trying to tell me that they weren't actually buying the car from me. I told them they needed to start honoring their word and because of that they kept the sales figure in and acted as if they were doing me a favor. Also, they gave me an option on how to receive my settlement check, they said I could either drive to an office (which was 30 min. away..hard to get to without my "cargo") or they would send a rep to my house and I could obtain it that way. Of course I opted for the home delivery, but after two days of trying to get a hold of them, they couldn't provide me with a time the person would get here. Not even an estimated time. Of course it was on a Friday, so I knew it had to get done by then or it would continue on to the next week. The woman that I was "working" with came at with an attitude about the home delivery and said that is was an act of "courtesy" by them delivering it and she couldn't give me a time. So what was I suppose to do wait around and hope that they stick by their word? Sorry their word didn't mean much to me anymore. Also, I didn't see it as a courtesy, but rather one of the options she originally gave me.

Finally I told her to forget the home delivery since they couldn't give me a time and I wanted to make sure that it was done before the weekend. I got the address of the office and my fiance took a long lunch to drive me to the office location. While there I signed a "bill of sale.." Why would I sign a bill of sale if I wasn't selling my car. That sales tax was always rightfully mine and they acted as if they were doing me a favor. Also included in the settlement was DMV fees. So in actuality they cut me short on the actual value of my car,

Bottom line is the claims department did not handle my claim well and I felt they took advantage of me. They made it seem like it was my fault I was in this situation. My car was totaled by their client! They tried to withhold money that was rightfully mine and made it seem like they were doing me favors, when they were actually just doing things that are part of their normal job description. I should have received a salary for doing their work for them!

Progressive is very aggressive to close claims very quickly and their adjusters are very demanding to sell you on the idea that Progressive Insurance is more than fair, its total BS! My car was in impound with fluid leaking after a lawyer insured by Progressive T-Boned my vehicle. Two days later, I began having severe neck and back pain; medical costs were over $4, 000 and Progressive offered me $500 before going to the doctor.

Progressive refused to pay the towing company and tried to sell my car for scrap against my best interest to cheap out on the property damage. Progressive was very demanding that I take their offer or I can’t have my car back. My lawyer said that is extortion and had a heated conversation with the claims department at Progressive. My car was delivered back to me the next day and Progressive had to cover towing and storage charges exceeding $500 due to their delay tactics.

Progressive never paid a fair amount to replace my car or make suitable repairs for the collision damage, and demanded a salvage title a year after the car was repaired at my own expense. Progressive was also demanding the property damage was included in the personal injury settlement; there was no arrangement to replace my car. A heap of junk was parked in my driveway for several months waiting for Progressive to repair or replace my car, it never happened! Insurance companies are the biggest fraud in the financial industry.

Progressive Casualty Insurance boat motor

I took my boat in to have repairs after hitting something under water my prop was broke and the crank shaft snapped due to the impact. I had 3 boat machanics backing me on the claim. After several weeks of progressive doing a long investigation they turned the claim down. After requesting a written report they told me they didn't have one just field note and it would take a supena to receive that. i am still dealing with them trying to get something in writting on how the got that conclusion. NEVER USE PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE THEY ARE A RIPPOFF

Progressive Casualty Insurance incompetence

Been with Progressive for 15 years (autos, boat and umbrella policy). Submitted a claim in June 2012 for $2900 because one of my boat motors had been vandalized and I needed two heads replaced. They declined the claim even though the marina mechanics attributed the motor failure to the foreign particles in the engine. My crusader 350 engine only had 1080 hours on it and I was told it was normal "wear and tear" by the Progressive investigators who are obviously struggling to justify their existence within the company.

My port engine has the same hours and is fine (it did not have the same foreign object diet as the starboard).

So, in Progressive's infinite stupidity they denied my $2900 claim.

It gets better...I upped my deductable to $1000 last fall so that means Progressive would have only had a $1900 payout.

In addition, these "idiot" investigators interviewed two marina service managers and their mechanics, sent the bad engine heads for forenic analysis and came to my home on the river to look at the boat. This foolishness most likely evaporated the $1900 right there!

I was paying Progressive approximately $1800/year for auto, boat and umbrella and now I am paying them zero because I moved everything into another company called Encompass. Encompass is charging me $300/year less than progressive with all coverages being equal.

I also sent two emails (with my claim number) to progressive thinking that the people running the show might want to take a look at what was causing a 15 year customer to go elsewhere.

One was to the CEO ([protected]@progressive.com) and the other was to the head of claims, [protected]@progressive.com. I received absolutely no response from either person.

Kind of says it all don't ya think?

In retrospect, I can't fault either one. I have been surrounded by both smart people and stupid people as a computer systems engineer and fully understand how corporate management can suffer from a similar blight.
