Pro Tec Dog and Cat GroomingDog Injured at Pro Tec Grooming

We took our Dog to Pro Tec Dog and Cat grooming for his first grooming. We were called to pick our Dog up after grooming was complete. The employee said she managed to clip all of our dogs back toe nails but she was having a hard time because he was resistant to having that done, the employee said our dog growled and threw his head into her as she was clipping. We picked our dog up and brought him home, about an hour after having him home we spotted a small pool of blood in our house, we looked at the dog right away and noticed two of his nails had been cut way too far back. Our dog was bleeding profusely and we noticed several other pools of blood around the house. The bleeding would not stop so we took our dog to the vet. Our dog was in pain and thrashing around so much the vet could not cauterize the nails with out him being sedated. When my husband picked up our dog from Pro- Tec he was never told that this had occurred, no wonder our dog was growling and she was having difficulty completing the clipping. The cost for the grooming was $55 and the vet bill was $105, I would never recommend Pro-Tec Dog and Cat Grooming to anyone!!!

I believe it! They are affiliated with Pet Solutions on KG Blvd. I had been taking my doggie there for quite awhile because they were close to my house and every time she came back with some kind of injury! I complained about it but all I got was an apology! The last time she was there the groomer nicked her tail close to the base twice and I never noticed it for a few weeks when she started licking and biting at her backside. Took her to the vet and $120.00 later! She had to have shots, antibiotics, and an antibiotic cream. Oh and a cone too!! Never again will I go there! I didn't report it this time and a lot of people say that I should and make them give me the money for my vet bill.
I was told to take my dog to Pro Tec but now that I heard your story, I think I'll keep looking!
Thanks for the info. Wanda Fowler
