How responsive is Popeyes's customer service?

Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how Popeyes handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Popeyes and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Popeyes food quality

Why does Popeyes USA franchise permit a Popeye's in my town to compromise the quality of their food. I travel often with my family to the US and have to wait until We're there to enjoy real Popeyes chicken. Here they do NOT have the Cajun Rice, Do NOT have the real bisquits, and the spicing of the chicken is not what it should be. I wrote to [protected]@hotmail.com twice but I never even received an acknowledgement of my complaint. I would appreciate if someone would respond.

Popeyes don't go there

Man, what happened to Popeye's Chicken?! I stopped in the Amarillo TX. T.A. truck stop for a break on an 1100 mile trip. We don't have a Popeye's near us in N.M. so, it's always, well it used to be, a real treat to run up on a Popeye’s while on the road. After eating at Popeye's for 20 some years I was pissed off for the first time.

My main *** is the size of the chicken pieces & the fact that Popeye’s makes it almost impossible to reach them with our complaints.[I miss the days when Popeye's was just a little chicken stand & not another" You'll take what we give you" corporation]

I've found, as I'm sure you have as well, Popeye's isn't the only one that’s turned their backs on their core supporters. Taco Johns used to be a great little taco stand, now that greasy craps not fit to eat.

It used to be not long ago at Popeye's you could expect huge mouth watering crispy pieces of chicken & big fluffy hand made biscuits you could make a meal of. Now, at least at the Amarillo truck stop store, it's just the other way 'round. Little grezzy pieces of chicken, must of been polt hens, & hockey pucks for bis...It all boils down to, no bang for your buck...Popeye’s sold out...bummer.

Stay away from the popeyes on Pulaski Rd in Midlothian, IL. Their food always runs right through me like it's poison or something. I try to give them chance after chance. But it's like they don't clean their equipment or cook in old grease. They need a dime dropped on them to the health department. I love popeyes food, but THAT Particular store gives Popeyes overall a bad name. Not to mention the piss-poor customer service at that location.

Popeyes coowner

August 21, 2017 at 4:45 pm stopped in the crosby store on state hwy 2100, walked in and one man was seated in a booth with cell phone in use. He got up and walked behind the counter, said one minute, walked to cooking area continueing to use cell, came up front asked for my order which I gave him. removed cell and dialed a number and began talking, told me the amount of my order and I gave him my debit card which he swiped, returned card and slowly putting my two meals together, stopping work often while talking on cell. A woman employe came in while order was still in the making, time about 4:55. He bagged my order, then asked for my card again saying it did not swipe. At this time I told him if I were his boss that I would fire him now, he said with a smirk that he was the boss and co-owner. I then told him that he was stupid, that I was a customer who was paying his salery, rent on his business and again told him he was stupid, he said nothing and I walked out. I have lived in Crosby 8 years and have traded with this store since I or it has been here. We like your food very much but the help has been very bad before such as young man working the counter sitting with two or three of his friends at a table and waiting until I was standing at the counter a short time before waiting on me, and all the time kept talking to his friends as they helped themselves to cups and had a soda.

But today was all uncalled for by this co-owner.
If I return to the store and he is present, I will leave.

Thanks for taking my mail.
William Nicely

I was really disappointed in the company Popeyes Chicken Morrpark CA. I ordered chicken from them and told that I wanted not spicy, but the worker provided spicy chicken and I didn’t notice it before. I was upset that they couldn’t provide normal order and mixed simply things. I decided to avoid them and wasn’t really happy about such attitude and services, so please post comments about your things with them.

On 6/08/2017 we visited the Popeye's Chicken in Keller, TX. We placed our order in the drive thru and was asked to pull forward because they had to cook our order of Wicked Chicken. She said it would be 3 minutes. We pulled forward and waited for 12 minutes. They finally cam out with our order. I asked the manager why it took 12 minutes for what were told would take 3 minutes. Her response was "We had to cook your other order (chicken breast dinner) because they had given the last breast to a customer that came thru the dive thru after us". I said isn't it customary to serve the people that had paid first. She said "I am sorry but that is what happened". I asked if that is all she had to say and she said yes. I then told her that I would be contacting her corporate office. She said "That is fine, do what you have to do"|. I called Popeye's when I got home". I spoke to a customer service rep that took all the info, . She told me that someone would be contacting me within 48 hours". It is now 6/15/2017|. I still have not heard from anyone from Popeye's:. I guess this shows the company's concern about their patrons (former now).. We will never go back because of their lack of concern.

Ordered our meals, 2 3pc tendors mild and 1 tender salad, customer number 144 on receipt. 23 people ordered and were served after our order and when we asked the cashier we were told that they were waiting on out tenders, 6 of the 23 people served were given the same meals (type of tendors ordered) as we had ordered and we were told that we would just have to wait until new batch was made. If this is how you prefer your franchises to be ran i can understand why i have never eaten at one of your franchises and never will.

I went to my local Popeyes and ordered dinner for my husband and myself. The advertisement showed each meal on a plate containing 3 chicken strips, onion rings, biscuit and 1 side. I assumed that this was a meal. I asked if a drink came with the meal and was told no. When I opened my food it was boxed. It contained 3 cold, dried strips, a biscuit and the side. I paid full price for a half priced meal. I'm very very disappointed in Popeyes. I usually get good service from this restaurant but this experience sours the taste in my mouth for Popeyes Chicken. We missed dinner last night and we were very disappointed. I think that I am due a refund, however I work and cannot go back and forth for what I already know would be an argument.

i am a was a new employee and the mod on duty does not perform well under pressure. needless to say i will not work for someone who yells at his employees in front of customers. my phone number is [protected] . julie is the other mod is nice. they were rob when the back door was left open for the trash to be taken out. if you have a manager on duty and he does not perform well when their is so few people in line and he can not talk to people in the right way then he does not need to be a manager.

Popeyes rude and inefficient service

1. No one available at the cash counter to take customer orders.

2. After a wait of 5 minutes, finally I place order with cashier "rahim", who when I inquire about sandwiches, laughs and mentions in a very ridiculing manner in front of other customers also waiting to be served, that they have all types of sandwiches, incl, fish, chicken and even whole goat!

3. When I object to his behavior, he laughs and winks to his colleagues behind the counter and in the kitchen. I then asked for the manager, whose name was "hamza" and register a complaint about this flippant and insulting behavior. I did not see any willingness to address this issue or to reprimand this cashier and when I asked for a popeyes office number to register my complaint I was not provided one.

4. I have the next day complained to their website tel no. [protected] and recorded my complaint with "lailin", the customer service agent.

5. Since I did not hear from them, I called again on june 6th and again on 19th june, but got the same replies... 'we are very sorry, but we will forward the report again and you will hear from us soon'.

6. As for the tel. Contact or email of any senior people, I drew a blank. They didn't want to provide any.
My conclusion. Do not visit any popeyes chicken branches in canada as they overplay their halal angle to act arrogant and be rude to customers. !

In the past too, I have had issues with them not giving the right order or being sly and giving more wings or drumsticks instead of thighs and breasts, being very slow or giving stupid replies to questions. As far as I am concerned, I will not be visiting them anymore and will recommend the same to all my friends/acquaintances.

Worst sevice in fast food. Visited 2 times. 1st time was at 9pm. Legs and thighs not available.
2nd time I ordered 16 piece legs and thighs mild. Recieved a 12 piece mixed spicey. The young kid repeated my order 3 times and still got it wrong.
The hire teens that don't care, and are just there for a paycheck. When talking to the manager on the phone, he seem not to care either.
To sum it up, we paid for 16 pieces and got 12 which was mix and spicy wich is a 4piece ripoff!

Popeyes cutting blade chip in creamy cole slaw

Last sunday i had purchase a take away set of popeyes chicken and biscuit from the new outlet at Changi International Airport Terminal 3. This includes a creamy cole slaw, which had a piece of metal chip that resemble a cutting blade. Lucky enough i bite on it before cut my mouth or swallowed it. It could has been a disaster to have swallowed it. I tried to give a feedback to the company through it website but its online feedback channel is just as bad. Hence i stumbled upon this website and hope to get a reply from the company. I still got the metal chip with me and hoping they will be interested to identify how it could have ended in the cole slaw, to avoid potential hazard to consumers.

Popeyes service, and prduct

On 5/30/08 I went to Popeye's to get an 8pc bucket, a shrimp basket, onion rings, two pieces of spicey chicken, and a soda. I waited 45 minutes for my meal to be prepared, after bringing my meal to the car. I had to go inside to get my soda, that they had forgotten. Once getting home, I realized that they had forgotten my two pieces of spicey chicken. I returned to Popeye's shortly after, to inform them about my chicken. At first they did not want to supply me with the chicken i had brought, so i had to pull everything out of the bag including the proof of purchase. Once pulling the items out and opening them infront of the cashier, I had realized that I had recieved two pieces of shrimp in my shrimp basket. The cashier gladly gave me my two piece, and added a few more pieces of shrimp. I finally return home, to finally enjoy my meal with my family. I picked up a piece of breast to bit into it, to find short black pieces of hair fried into the skin. Every member in my household has long hair, at this time I realized that one of the workers(female) had short black hair. At this point I said, just forget it and threw the entire thing out. This whole mess took a total of almost a hour and a half.

I also had problems with Popeye's. I am a disabled, Catholic Priest. Like most priests, I am a senior citizen. I happen to be a retired naval officer and presented my military ID.
I usually get either a military or a senior citizen discount. This time I got a rude attitude, no water, [the company says they were out of small cups], and a long wait for my four orders. I eat our a lot and will most likely avoid Popeye's in the future. I did find the place was busy, but perhaps with such rudeness, the business will not continue at the rapid clip it was today. I was a bit taken back with the service and the rudeness. I did want the cup of water to take a pain pill. I walk with a can because of a broken leg. I know what it is like to serve the community and this was not the best of service.

Popeyes food

I went to Popeye's in Pearland on April 29, 2008 about 9pm to order some food for the family. Food tasted fine, but by 2am that morning, my husband and two boys were sick to there stomach and all of that next day, and my oldest one continues to be sick two days later. I went back to get a refund for that meal, with receipt, and the manager refused to give me a refund, and said in order to receive a refund, the food had to be returned. They ate it, dummy! That's why they are sick. I didn't get sick, because I didn't eat that crap...Money is not an issue, but the fact that I paid $20 dollars for a meal that made my whole family sick, makes me angry. Even more so, is the fact that they wouldn't give me my money back. I won't be going there again, and plan on passing this along to a long list of email friends. One more thing, I was disgusted when I walked in the restaurant, and the food preparation area was filthy.

Finished eating, then find cockroach in my drink! The employee’s attitude is, so? So you found one, we usually just brush 'em off. Popeye's corporate attitude is that it is not their problem.

WE HAVE ALWAYS LOVED POPEYES. HOWEVER, THE 3 LOCATIONS IN OUR CITY IS NASTY. THEY EVEN SHUT THE ONE NEAREST TO US DOWN FOR 4 DAYS. IT HAD SO MANY VIOLATIONS...SOME ONE NEEDS TO COME OUT AND INSPECTEIR STORES AND SEE THE NASTY PLACE. I AM SURPRISED THEY ARE STILL OPEN. WE HAVE A SEGMENT ON THURSADY NIGHTS ON OUR LOCAL TV STATION THAT TELLS ABOUT NASTY RESTURANTES. POPEYES IS ALWAYS ON IT. PEOPLE REALLY PAY ATTENTION TO THE REPORT AND THEY DON'T PATROIZE RESTURANTES THAT ARE ON THE SHOW.
PLEASE GIVE SOME ATTENTION TO THIS .

Popeyes poor management, and health cond.!

I recently ordered food at this particular location, and the worker that serviced me did not have any type of professional or customer service skills. I felt like no employees cared for customers like me. There seems to be a great deal of personal attitudes by the employees and mostly the managers. I have a brother in law who was terminated from this location for confronting the manager of how she was treating him. By my past experience of working at a fast food restaurant, managers can take authority's way over the limit. Today, when I took my brother in law to pick up his check, which they get paid on fridays, as one of the managers was leaving, my brother in law asked if he can get his check, she replied, "You will have to wait until Dave gets here because he should also have a key to the place where the check were located". We wait 20 minutes and Dave shows up, for some reason he doesn't have a key, so now my brother in law had to wait for his check for 2 days. I feel like that shows a lack of professionalism and poor management. Since he received his check 2 days later because they had to receive it at a meeting, he was late on a couple of bills that he was charged late fees for because he didn't receive his check on the day he expected, (Friday). Also, this location has a problem with making customers wait in the drive through for 25 minutes or more. Usually when a customer walks into a restaurant, they expect a clean environment in order to eat there. But due to the lack of cleaningless, number of costumers complained or complains about this particular restaurant. I feel that this location should be heavily investigated and that the workforce development should investigate the managers and their way of treating and training their employees deeply, termination requested! And new management that cares!

I agree 100%. I visited there around two months ago and the staff were playing around acting very childish. They botched my order completely and when I tried to talk to the manager ( who was also playing around) he gave me the run around. I had to throw away the chicken because it was soaked in grease and I had ordered no thighs and out of the 10 pieces there were 6 thighs. I have never been back the since

Popeyes upset stomach

My husband and I have eaten at the "new" Popeyes restaurant twice. The first time I had a terrible stomach ache only - but last night I had diahrea 5 times or so. I had terrible pains, and sweats all day today. I don't know what is in the spicy chicken batter but something isn't agreeing. My husband has a much higher tolerance than I do and he also had the same result. I am just glad that we didn't feed my son the chicken. Since he isn't a "spicy" eater he just had the biscuits and mashed potatoes. It's a shame that this keeps happening because I totally like the flavor of the chicken. Unfortunately I can't take a chance in the future. It's not just us either... I asked someone did they eat at Popeye's yet and his response was yeah but it gives you an upset stomach. (his wording was different). I surely hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

I am done eating at Popeye’s. I had it last week and I never thought for a moment that it was the chicken and boy was I wrong. I thought I had the stomach flu. My stomach was making noise as if a plumber was working on my insides. Then I read it is halal meat. No way I don't eat that stuff! Furthermore, this episode last 5 days. Disgusting! I am truly not a fan of eating out after this I will make it myself. Laxatives take longer to kick in. I hope you will take the advice given and save yourself from using unnecessary sick days.

Yeah their chicken doesn't go well for my stomach either, but you do realize that halal meat is the same as regular meat right? The only difference is the way its slaughtered.

I agree with the original poster. It's not that the food isn't fresh or tasty or prepared well. The issue is that there is something in the ingredients that is upsetting stomachs. I believe they use MSG heavily in their seasoning and that is what is causing stomach upset. It doesn't matter whether you are getting the spicy or mild either. Great tasting chicken otherwise but the tummy can't take it.

This could happen in your own home. Sometimes, things just do not sit well on your tummy. Heck, I have had ice cream do that to me. It is no way means the place or the food is bad. It just means it did not jive with you. I swear, people act like their own food never made them poop.

Popeyes scam and cheating!

I stopped to pick up a 10 piece meal advertised at $13.99. When I got it home, there was one back, one wing, five legs and three thighs. I'd love to see the original chicken. I had incorrectly assumed that Popeyes would have North American standards where a 10 piece chicken dinner would include all the pieces of one chicken (one back, two breasts, two wings, two thighs, two legs) plus one additional piece (probably a wing if it was Popeyes), not whatever the ### with the tongs decided to put in the box. Their owners, management and staff need to be educated on North American Standards.

I personally apologize for this type of experience at ANY Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits restaurant. We treat our valued guests a whole lot better than this in the Shreveport/Bossier City Louisiana area, Longview, Texas area, and Texarkana, Arkansas area. And KFC is not an alternative, they suck.

I had a similar experience. I had ordered the Chicken & Shrimp order with 2 biscuits and mashed potato as a side order. The trainee just handed me the bag without the drink or mashed potato. When I reminded him about the missing items, he just said "Oh" and gave me the rest of my order. I asked him if he put in the biscuits, without even checking he assured me that it was there. When I reached home I found the biscuits were missing. I lost it and when I called the supervisor to give him a piece of my mind he hangs up on me. I drive up to the store and confronted him, by telling him to keep up with North American standards, he just argued with me without even offering to compensate for my time and effort. Adding insult to injury, the trainee jumps in saying that it was my job to check my order. I guess "Popeyes" and customer service don't go hand in hand. Any Tom, Dick and Harry with a few dimes in his pocket can buy this franchise. Moral of the story try and avoid this franchise, KFC is a good alternative.

Popeyes lack of commitment and greed!

Sadly, a manager at Popeye's Chicken was killed during a recent robbery in late January 2008. May God bless and give peace to the victim's family. My complaint is against Popeye's for only offering a mere $1000. reward for information about the criminals who senselessly took this young man's life. Merely posting a $1000. reward clearly highlights Popeye's Restaurant's lack of commitment and greed. Of course, citizens should come forward without rewards, and many do, however low reward amounts like this, especially from a multi million dollar company like Popeye's sends a message to the community that they lack honest commitment to the community and that profit is more valued than human life. Maybe, this is a harsh, but I believe that a $1000. reward sends a harsh negative message to everyone, especially the family of the victim. Popeye's is now off limits to my family and hopefully my friends also. Maybe Popeye's will reconsider their poor decision and reprimand the official that made this initial decision.

Popeyes 50 cents for water & flour

I'm appalled of the amount of gravy they put on your potatoes, and when you ask for a little more gravy they want to charge you 50 cents. I can't believe it when they want to charge you 50 cents for some water & flour, so I quit patronizing this Popeye's Chicken Restaurant.

Thanks for reading.

I went to the popeyes in Carrollton Texas and asked for the catfish fillets and OMG! when I got home and open the box I realized there was nothing but fries and then I asked my friend we should go back and get the my actual order, then we looked into the fries and realized they had actually put the catfish fillets and they were smaller than my pink finger, Im so upset about this for taking 6.59 of my money for that. First think my friend did was to laugh at me for being played a funny joke, but It wasnt a joke...

I was in the 38th & keystone restaurant on 12-12-2007 approx around 11:00am to purchase a large order of red beans and rice. this was all i had and after eating it i got ill. my stomach started to swell and i had severe cramps. my wife called the restaurant later that day when she came home and found out i had gotten sick. the manager named Robert answered and she asked if anyone had complained about becoming ill from the red beans and rice today. He said what time did he come in. she told him around 11:00, and he said no. she stated that i had gotten ill from eating the food. he said in a non-chalant tone to take him to the doctor. she told him the doctor wasn't the problem it was the food. she also told him since he had such a nasty disposition she was going to report the incident to the board of health. he said he didn't care and hung up. apparently your restau,,nt doesn't care about keeping customers. we often buy food there and over the years have spent quite a bit of money. with this don't care attitude that is reflected thru your employee's and a manager at that i will tell everone i know not to eat at Popeye's and the incident that happened to me. I work at a public school and word of mouth can carry a long way. I will report my illness to the Board of Health and ask them to investigate your restaurant.

Popeyes - poor food, poor service, false advertising!

In june of this year my finance and I went to popeyes chicken for the first time while visiting niagara falls, ontario. We ordered our food, me the naked chicken strips meal (There was a nice advertisement with 4 large chicken pieces with ranch dipping sauce for $5.99 so I thought why not try it!) and my finance the chicken pieces and fries meal. When we...

Popeyes bad food preparation

On 7/13/07, I purchased chicken and an order of french fries from Popeyes on Boston Road, Bronx, New York.

Upon arrival home and opening the french fries, I found 5 shrimp mixed in with the fries. This is a very serious issue for me as I have life threatening allergies to shell fish. If these foods are going to cross contaminate, then Popeyes should advise their customers of this. I had to throw away the fries. I did not see any sign in the establishment addressing this.

I live in La Plata, MD and on April 30th I purchased 3 pc chicken meal with coleslaw & biscuit from the Popeyes in that location. A few hours after eating I began to experience a burning itch and developed hives. I am highly allergic to shrimp and did not realize the chicken and shrimp were cooked in the same oil. I thought this was against policy in restaurant establishments and am disappointed that Popeyes would not take care for the safety of its customers. I guess KFC will have to be my fried chicken place of choice from now on.

I just ate there, I had the fried chicken. It made me sick as can be. I am very allergic to shellfish and they fry the popcorn shrimp in the same oil as the chicken. Places alway disclose things about peanuts but nothing about shellfish. applebees does the same thing to. It is very dangerious

Popeyes nasty service at the drive-through!

My kids and I went to popeye's in memphis (Winchester road) last night to pick up dinner. We noticed a lot of cars in the drive thru and a line of customers inside at the counter also.

I really wanted to try the catfish basket, so we waited in line at the drive thru. We placed our order and I paid with my credit card. There was no mention of a delay in preparing my order until once they had my signature on the credit card slip, then things went down hill. She told me to pull up and that my order would be out in 1 minute.

Nearly 5 minutes later a worker came out but it was not to bring my order... It was to tell me to move further away from the restaurant's door because I was holding up their line! When I asked about my order, I was told that they were very busy and she didn't know how much longer it would take. Well it took over 10 minutes to get my order. By then I was totally ticked off. To add insult to injury, when I got home I noticed that they left off my biscuit and the shrimp basket, was actually a basket full of fries with a few popcorn shrimp on top. The person that took my order (And lied to me) was tenisha... Her name is on the receipt. Next time, i'll know better than to "pull up". It's either my food at the window or my money back on the spot!

I was waited on by deidrie and I she was very rude from the start. A truck in front of me just got done placing their order so I pulled up to the speaker after they were done. Someone said something over the speaker that wasn't even clear. So I thought they were talking to the person in the truck still at the window. So I waited and then they said it again but this time she yelled it at me! Ignored her rudeness and started placing my order. I pulled up to the window and she contined being rude. And slung the bag of food at me while only holding onto one strap and about poured the bag out! Left very upset I was treated that way and the whole time showed respect to her! Store number is 5478. Her name was Deidrie.

Popeyes unsanitary restrooms and poor customer service!

My wife and I recently went to Alexandria, La to shop. On our way home we stopped at the Popeyes on U.S.165 in Kingsville. We ordered our food and my wife went to the restroom. Shortly she came from the restroom and was livid. She told the salesperson behind the counter their restroom for the ladies was filthy. The sales person didn't respond at all. My wife found the manager and told him there was feces on the camode seats. He said he would check it out. Don't know if he did or not but we will not be going back to eat in any Popeyes. We plan to pass this information to all our friends and hope they will do the same. If the restrooms are this unsanitary, it makes you wonder what other health problems may be present that the public doesn't see.

I ordered a 5 pc chicken meal, with Mac and cheese, and ordered 3 sauces.

Came home and it was 1 breast and 3 wings and one thigh.

I’m very upset as it cost me $15.00

Plus the charging of 75 cents for each sauce, that’s ridiculous!

You’ve lost a customer and the people don’t understand English evidently!

March 6, 2024 my friend and I went through drive-thru to order 2-5 piece hot wing. Time was about 1:30.

When I received them, they were not crunchy like the ones I had purchased in Gadsden or Talladega, AL. Chicken was cold and a solution was poured over them to have a hot taste to them.

I can truly see why no one wants to go there.
