PoolsInc.com / Pools Etc Not able to get a refund for goods not received

On June 28 I made a debit purchase for a 18X33 pool dome for my above ground pool. I paid in full. By mid July I had not received my order. I called Pools Etc at [protected]. A Representative said my order was on the way.

By the end of July still had not received my order. Pools inc said there was a problem with shipping and it was on the way. By August 19, 2022 I called Pools Inc and requested a refund due to not receiving my order, they sad OK.

10 business days passes and still I have not received my refund. When I call them They say it is being processed. It is now September 17 and still I did not get my refund. They are giving me the run around. The order number for my

order is 391173.

I have lived in Massachusetts for all my life. I served in the military and am

now working at Sealed Air Corp where I have been now for 36 years. I really need your help.

PoolsInc.com / Pools Etc pool liner

I purchased a inground pool liner from pools.inc/recdiscount.com, when I installed the liner, it was too small. I contacted Larry weinberg whom I
ordered it from and he said the can order another for 50% discount. I replied that it was Latham(pool manufacturer) who did no make it correctly. I gave then the exact dimentions from my previous install, however, the did not use it and made a generic 18 x36 pool liner.

They are not trying to remedy this order for 1175$.

PoolsInc.com / Pools Etc No refund on cancelled pool order

I ordered a pool in May of 2020 for $3500. and never received it. In July 2020 I cancelled the order and have never received a refund. I have been calling Shawn ever since repeatedly and all I ever get is excuses. They must plan on stealing my money like they have done to countless others over the years that have never gotten their refunds either. This is robbery and yet the law has never caught up with them. Read some of the reviews going back several years and you will see the same old story. The company (Pools Inc) has recently moved to 25 Walpole Park S., Suite 5, Walpole, MA 02081 Phone [protected] Shawn is still the Mgr. here. Their old address was 200 Stonewall Blvd., Wrentham, MA 02093

Why is this company still in business and being allowed to take money from consumers with no

repercussions. I have even contacted the attorney General. I have heard nothing from them.

PoolsInc.com / Pools Etc Fraud

I ordered a winter pool cover September 21, 2013 and have not received it. I've called and spoke with someone named Shawn at least a half dozen times and kept being told their supplier is shipping the cover and each time a new delivery day. The cover has never arrived and I've asked for a refund to my Visa card. Shawn has been very apologetic, but now I've found on the internet these guys are frauds. They also go by Recreation Discount Wholesale Inc d/b/a Pools Etc, and the name on my Visa statement is WWW.SIMMINGPOOLDEPOT [protected].

Exactly the same situation as mentioned above. How are companies allowed to operate like this? We ordered a pool in June, they continuously tell me that the “vendor” lost the pool and are reshipping, however there isn’t a tracking #. What is the tracking # from the first one that shipped? Courtney assures me that she is not working for a scandalous company, however it has been over a month since PoolsInc took my money, and I have no pool, and no tracking number!

STAY AWAY! This is a fraudulent company. Same complaints and issues for over 5 years if you check the history. If anyone can find a way to have the principals arrested, do so now. Caveat emptor with this outfit.

PoolsInc.com / Pools Etc failure to fulfill warranty

Received pool cover in good shape and installed as per instructions. During the winter season the cover developed a hole in the middle that started to unravel and was brittle and flaky to the touch. Area where the pool I located contains no overhead structures or trees that could drop branches or similar projectiles to cause this type of damage. Called the company to report the issue and was told to send pictures. Cover originally purchased from a Richard C. but he was not available at the time of the issue being reported and I was handed off to a Shaun to resolve the issue. Spoke with Shawn in March of 2009. Sent details of the failures and pictures a few times they were reported as not received by him and no attempt for follow up with me when pictures not received. I had to call back multiple times to confirm that the e-mailed pictures were received. The first time was my fault for sending to the incorrect address but no attempt was made to follow up for 3 weeks that pictures were not received. When the pictures were finally received he forwarded them to the Manufacturer and that was all that I had heard from until I called about a month later he said he had heard nothing back from them and he had not followed up on the matter. I have had to make countless calls to them over the summer to the point where I know his voice and he knows mine on the phone. I have extended every bit of professional business etiquette in dealing with them and have not been able to resolve my issue. Finally after the many calls I was told that the manufacturer wanted to have the cover returned to them for repair in early September 2009 after dragging their feet all summer when the cover was not needed. I agreed and told them that I would provide the large box for shipping and package the item to go back to them to expedite the process which was agreed upon and they would supply me with a shipping label to send the cover back to the manufacturer. I waited the 3 days for the shipping info to come e-mail and nothing, waited an extra 2 more days and called Shaun. He said he would look into it and get back to me, a few days go by and nothing so I call again and he said he would call them again. This has gone on until today 10/13/2009 and I still have no shipping info from Pools Etc who seem to be blowing me off and not honoring the 15 year warranty that this cover was sold with. I have tried in every manner possible to politely resolve this issue but it seems that I’m being handed off to someone who could care less about customers because they are a factory dealing with vendors and not customers with I’m sure pools etc still making orders from them. I paid Pools ETC for the product and warranty it is their responsibility and not second source that they use to honor it. I ordered from them over another retailer because they carried the BBB Shield on their website showing they are an approved retailer. They are apparently not worthy of the banner as I live in the north east and had to purchase another cover for my pool which is not a safety cover which puts my 3 year old at risk whenever we are out in the backyard until this safety cover gets replaced or repaired. I purchased this cover to keep him safe when we are outback playing or barbequing. I have in no way taken an aggressive posture or verbal attack at the employees of Pools Etc but do not know where else to turn other than a lawyer at this point. I feel that they are stringing me along and hoped that since winter was setting in and the pool had to be covered that I would let it go. The cover cost me over a thousand dollars and did not even last a season.

Settlement Sought: At this point in time I want money back or the cover replaced with a new non-defective product. I’m well beyond just settling for a repair especially when the local pool store said that if the cover was flaking around the hole that a standard patch would only be a temporary fix of 2 to 3 seasons. They also had all summer to affect a repair.

Pools Etc Inc does not warranty the product. We are a retailer, not the manufacture of the safety cover. As stated on the paperwork that you received with the cover, ALL warranty claims should go directly through the manufacture. As with most product sold in general, the manufacture would be the company to contact.
Being that there is an actual hole in the cover, that would indicate that it is not a manufacture defect. Holes in a safety cover could be caused by animals (usually field mice), improper storage, dragging the cover on a rough surface(such as concrete), or a number of other situations not related to material failure. There is no blow off of the customer, it is just a failure of the customer to follow the instructions that are included with the cover. The customer got a box yet didn't ship the cover back to the manufacture. They were never told that a "shipping label" would be provided.Our solution for the customer is to contact the manufacture as they were told by our staff since the beginning. The customer never did this kept on calling us. At last check the manufacture had no open clain for the customer.. We forwarded the info to the manufacture so when the customer called., they would have the information ready.
