Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how Polaris Industries handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Polaris Industries and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Polaris Industries Poor product quality

Ranger 1000 NorthStar ultimate with command center purchase 2-22-23 got it home tie down bolt broken purchased bolt repaired. rear window comes down on long ride.3-31-23 crank shaft oil leak seals + was ordered repaired 6-23-23. Lots of problems with command center, very poor reception on command center unless in town command was updated to June 2020 I updated to may 2023. While updating command started to rain. Water fall coming in passenger side. When frame was welded it was welded CONCAVE so door gasket would not seal. Purchased expensive caulk to fix all welds. Went for short ride cab filled with smoke. Large oil leaking from crank shaft again Parts are on back order. Loud grinding of gears or bearings when on a slight down hill grade. So now I will not have my Ranger until mid October. Will not have it for the rest of summer and bow hunting season. That is what I paid a lot money for?

Desired outcome: get this repaired or Polaris replace it with a GOOD one

Polaris Industries Customer pays

Took 2012 Polaris RZR 900xp to get serviced, after 4 weeks they decided to work on after it's been driven moved around several times. i called and ask what is taken so long. Bobby said they were over booked and only two mechanics. Bobby stated they are having a hard time finding a mechanic without lying and they are not certified. First he stated it's all in pieces, and it will be ready on a Thursday. I called Thursday still in pieces but also said they have been moving it around. Before I took it in it always started and drove perfectly. Bobby called again and said the starter stuck and BLEW THE MOTOR UP, this happened on the 5th week. He has been given me conflicting stories, and the mechanics are not certified. They are expecting me to pay for a new motor plus the service. I have had zero problems for 5 years ran and started perfectly, low hours and thousands of dollars on upgrades. This company is new and bought the previous one that I always took it in for service with zero problems.

Polaris Industries Polaris XP 1000

Went to Power Sports of America in Paducah Ky. and bought a New North Star. Its a total piece of junk and I took it back for the window leaking and bus bar that went out. No fuses were blown just the bus bar was bad. I was billed 481.00 dollars for work they said wasn't warranty. 30,000.00 dollars and I have to pay for a machine that's only two months old. Total [censored]. I will never set foot in that store again. They have screwed me for the last time. You put out rebates on Polaris and they moved all your Machines off the showroom except one I think and set them all out by the road and left the showroom for Can Am, Kawasaki and Honda. The salespeople are whining like school children because of those rebates. I want my money back for the work they did that was service they said Polaris didn't cover. That kind of money spent the work should have been done without question. I sent three others to buy Polaris XP 1000 and this is the thanks I get for selling your machines. I just got lucky and got a piece of junk. Pissed off Customer. I want my 481.00 back. My complaints will continue, Atty. General is next stop.

Desired outcome: 481.00 dollars back for Warranty Work they said wasnt covered so they can scam more customers out of money.

Polaris Industries Quick release saddle bag latches.

Riding my 2021 chieftain today (5-19-23)after installing your quick release saddle bag latches back in February of 2023. The left bag fell off going down the road at 55mph with my wife on the rear of the bike. Bag only had a small purse, sweatshirt and cell phone in it. Rubber slid out of the pockets. Latches were still in locked position when we stopped and picked bag up. Now it’s over $2000.00 to replace bag, and some parts are unavailable. Is there something Polaris can do about this.?

Polaris Industries 2021 polaris 650 matryx vr1

To Customer Service:

This email is to inform you of the issues we encountered with 2021 Polaris 650 Matryx VR1 we purchased.

We have owned “used/ older” Polaris Sleds since 1998 – It was time to invest $ and purchase newer sleds for us as we are getting older and still plan to ride. We happened to be in the Duluth area and ventured to Sonju where we did find sleds that we were interested in and made the expensive decision to purchase; we have never spent this much on sleds/ toys in the past and it was a big deal for us to do so. We are avid snowmobile and ATV riders and belong to many area clubs and we plan to continue riding as we absolutely love the sport.

Here is a timeline of the unfortunate events and experience we encountered.

Issue: Regarding 2021 Polaris 650 Matryx VR1 (Sled 2)

Timeline – Sleds (Polaris) - Sonju Two Harbors:

November 18, 2022- Visited Sonju Two Harbors / visited with Sales regarding sleds; we decided to purchase with the agreement and assurance that their service department would go thru both sleds (since still ownership by Polaris) prior to us picking both sleds up on December 10th.

December 10, 2022 - Purchased 2 Sleds from Sonju Two Harbors

Sled # 1- 2022 Polaris 650 Indy Adventure 262 Miles

Sled # 2- 2021 Polaris 650 Matryx VR1 2486 Miles (Issues with this sled)

*Came to pick up both sleds – Sled 1 would not start; Sonju replaced battery. - I asked if the sleds were gone thru like we requested but no real answer-

December 26, 2022- 1st chance to ride sleds - noticed LED lights not working on Sled 2- 2021 Polaris Matryx VR1- we replaced new plugs both sleds (should have been done when / if service went thru sleds; lights still not working. Called Sonju multiple times this week left messages with Sales department (Josh M) and requested Manger to return call; never received a phone call back until after 8 calls Josh M called back on December 29th and said he would inform service department about our issues and have them return call; we did not receive a return call. We called again to request to talk to service and finally connected Josh R on Jan 3rd.

January 6, 2023 - Drove back to Sonju Two Harbors - Sled 2- Headlight only working on one side/ burnt out - needed a new headlight assembly; and started was grinding and not engaging - replaced battery. We paid $250 and Sonju paid $286.86. We mentioned to service that we feel this sled is a lemon and were not trusting it when riding; we asked if would consider to take back and we purchase a different sled but didn’t seem to be an option. Noticed Sales person/ others could barely look at us or say “HI” – very disappointing after we trusted the people we were dealing with and the amount of money we have spent. It seemed that since we already made the purchase we didn’t matter anymore. Thankfully Josh R in service was helpful to resolve the LED issue; thru conversation we are confident these two sleds were not even gone thru or inspected as we requested and were promised.

February 4, 2023- Sled 2- (3143 Miles) Sled broke down - needed to replace Jack Shaft Bearing - Cost $928.00

February 15, 2023- Sled 2 Fixed

February 25, 2023- Sled 2 (3208 Miles) Sled broke down - Piston/ Engine - needed to replace Engine - Cost $3241.65

Only put on 722 Miles from the time we picked up Sled 2 / very unfortunate and disappointing with the amount of snow we finally had this year for riding!

We spent an additional unexpected $4200.00.

We would appreciate a response; this purchase was disappointing and very costly.

Thank you for your attention to this matter,

Sincerely,

Joel & Pam Durbin

Desired outcome: We would appreciate a response and compensation

Polaris Industries 2021 polaris ranger xp 1000 waterfowl edition

December 20, 2022 I received a “Stop Ride Notice” from Polaris informing me of potential fuel pump leaks. The letter assured me that I would receive an update by end of 2022. I never received an update by end of 2022 and as of today, 2/8/2023, there is no resolution. The letter states “Do Not Operate Your Vehicle”. I have a very expensive unusable Polaris machine now for over a month. I bought the machine to use not look at. I need it to get things done on my property.

Desired outcome: A loaner from Polaris or buy back from Polaris through my local dealership. It is unconscionable that owners are not being provided options for this extended period of diagnosis by Polaris.

Polaris Industries - Customer Service

On May 21, 2022 we went to an outdoor/camping expo located in Flagstaff, Arizona. We happened upon a Polaris dealer RideNow Powersports Surprise, in Surprise, AZ.

They had two Polaris four seat UTVs for sale and at this date and time that was astounding because no one had any stock for sale in the US. We were interested in the new 2021 Polaris RZR Pro XP4 and talked to the salesman Stephen. One of the specific questions we asked the salesman was if Polaris RZRs were still having trouble with catching on fire since they had a big problem with that with their 2016 models. We were assured that all those issues had been resolved and that we had nothing to worry about, so we purchased the 2021 RZR Pro XP4, and proceeded to add over $10,000 worth of aftermarket Polaris parts on it.

On Friday, September 2nd, 2022, one week before we had a scheduled trip to the North Rim for a week with 54 other cars, we got a STOP Ride/Sale notice from Polaris stating that our specific model of RZR was indeed catching on fire due to a gas leak. We had to cancel our trip and we lost money on various stuff that we purchased for that trip, not to mention not getting to go. We called Polaris and asked if they would provide a loaner for that trip, they said no. We have talked to the RideNow Dealership in Surprise about the issue they offer no help as well and no loaners.

It is now late January 2023 and we still cannot use our RZR, there is no fix in site, and Polaris has no answers and offers no help. I called a Polaris distributor and they said even when they get the fix, it will be at least 2 months before receiving it. That probably means we won't be able to use our SxS for about 9 months while we continue to make payments on it. We have a charity event coming up in December that we are sponsors for and want to participate in and again we asked Polaris and RideNow Surprise if they would at least provide a loaner vehicle and they both said no.

This charity event brings out thousands of UTVs and raises a ton of money for a great cause and Polaris and RideNow Surprise offer no help. We have missed out on so many riding trips and weekends where we cant do what we enjoy doing so much, riding our UTV with friends. At this point we do not trust Polaris RZRs, or their customer service line, or their products in general. How long before we purchased our RZR did they know about this model catching fire?

When did the first incidents of this model catching fire occur? Polaris has left so many customers stuck with a product that we cant use, sell, or even trade in. They were willing to take our money they should be willing to do right by their customers. I want them to buy me out, pay me for all I am out, pay me for lost time, and take back their un-useable product.

If there is a lawyer out there who is willing to help a LARGE group of people be made whole by a company that boasts 1.6 billion dollars in sales on their website, please contact us through this forum.

We want to pursue legal action ASAP! Thank You!Do

Definitely feel your pain. On my 2nd “Do not ride” with this machine. Paid for the machine, extended warranty, service plan, paying insurance, cancelled several rides and the machine sits in my garage collecting dust. Ridenow pressing me to get my next service done as time is waisting. (Found this to be comical) I will also being seeking legal assistance with this matter.

Polaris Industries parts unavailable

my Polaris RZR went down (broke) in August for bad fuel pump and injectors. Machine is under warranty and has been in shop waiting for fuel injectors due to being on back order. Currently been in shop (Ridenow Peoria) for 3 months going on month #4! Just talked to Polaris today and they are saying that I will still be unable to get my machine back for another 5 months at least as the parts are now on back order till March! Unacceptable practice as they are offering no additional help, compensation or interim resolution.

Desired outcome: loaner vehicle or machine to keep me riding in prime riding season

Polaris Industries Excessive tire wear on my 2021 polaris 1000 xp ranger.

S&H Farm Supply of Lockwood Mo. says it took 3 hrs. to check my unit and say there is nothing wrong with it! Although the tires are wearing bad on the inside of the tires (like the toe - ends out of adjustment) they adjusted the front shocks to the highest point and sent it home with a $357 bill. Even though it's still under warranty they say I have to pay the bill because nothing's wrong! It's really frustrating we spend that much money on a machine we use every day on the farm, it's only on paved road once a week, two-mile round trip! This is not a toy or abused, we are sixty years old. See attachments for details.

Joe Engle

904 S. Pacific St,

Liberal MO. 64762

Desired outcome: We hope the company will stand behind their machines, that there is something wrong or it wouldn't be wearing the side off the tires and take care of this bill under warranty. Please respond to me and S&H as soon as possible.

Polaris Industries 2022 RZR Pro XP 4 Ultimate

Purchased a 2022 Pro XP 4 Ultimate on 8/24/2022. Received a recall on 9/2/2022 No Ride. Here it is 10/7/2022 and no resolution. We spent a lot of money for a vehicle to ride, not sit in our garage. I have called Polaris to check the status, sorry we apologize there is no solution at this time. Not offering a loaner or compensation, NOTHING. Polaris is horrible at customer service and coming up with a solution to this recall. I see a lot of other RXR models being riden, why can't this fix be changed to those models. At this time I would say don't buy Polaris.

Polaris Industries Damage to 2021 rzr xp pro

I purchased a 2021 RZR PRO XP from JT Motorsports in Frederick, MD in December of 2020. I am a 64 year old male who has been riding off road vehicles such as motorcycles, ATV's, and UTV's since 1970 so I am aware of the limitations and potential hazards of these machines. I have also attended safety classes for ATV's. As stated, I purchased this vehicle in 12 of 2020 for approx. $24000 from JT Motorsports. I put another $6000 of accessories on it myself. It still has under 500 miles on it - not even broken in. I took it out riding in May of 2022 and went through some heavy mud (as this vehicle is designed to handle). Upon leaving the mud in a turn, the vehicle hit some hard dirt and SLOWLY tipped onto its passenger side. No issue - a Polaris UTV should be able to handle this with no problem. It took 7 people to lift it up onto its wheels. The passenger side door was out of alignment and did not open correctly. There was also "little" things but I kept on riding it the entire day. I later discovered (upon cleaning the vehicle) that there was more damage (seat, mirror, etc.) so I took it in for repair at JT Motorsports. They kept it for almost 4 months (the entire summer of riding) and the repair bill came in as $13,115.80. It turns out that the frame bent (from this little tip-over) and since Polaris recommends replacing the frame, the entire vehicle had to be torn down and re-assembled with a new frame. This is INSANE. For Polaris to make an engineering mistake this severe. These vehicles are MEANT to be run hard. I tried to call customer service at Polaris for the last 2 weeks and they will neither answer their phone nor call a customer back. I am seeking some financial reimbursement from Polaris to cover the costs that I have incurred with respect to this vehicle. This damage is above and beyond what to expect from a machine of this "quality" and price.

Polaris RESPONSE TO BBB

Hi Michael,

Thank you for reaching out to Polaris Owner Connections regarding the issues you are having with your RZR. We apologize for the downtime and frustration in this situation. The best thing to do would be to bring your unit to your nearest authorized Polaris dealer and have them start an “Ask Polaris” case on this. They will work with our Polaris technicians to review your case and see what we can do for you. If you have further questions, feel free to call our team at [protected]. Thanks and have a great day.

Best,

Polaris Owner Connections

MY RESPONSE TO BBB

I am rejecting this response because: This is such a cop-out. This vehicle was immediately taken to an authorized Polaris dealer in Frederick, MD. Let me re-iterate. Polaris will not respond to requests for customer service. The only reason that they called me was to say that they "care" about their customers on BBB. The first excuse was - insurance took care of your vehicle so Polaris does not have to. Second excuse was "the vehicle is not designed to tip onto its side". The third and most ridiculous excuse was in their BBB response. How is it MY responsibility to have the authorized Polaris dealer get Polaris involved?

This company is horrible and cares nothing about their customers.

Desired outcome: Financial help with the excessive 13K repair bill.

Polaris Industries Slingshot R 2020

This is the most horrible product I have ever purchased in my life. I purchased this vehicle on June 6, 2022. There was only 400 miles on it, so it was considered a new vehicle. On July 20, the vehicle started acting up, I noticed the check engine light came on and the traction control light was on. I brought it home and didn’t drive it again for another week. I started the vehicle a week later, check engine light and traction light were not on anymore, but as I was driving through an intersection, about to make a turn, the ‘automatic (auto drive)vehicle popped out of gear and went into neutral, almost resulting in a would be fatal accident. I attempted to bring the vehicle home, it popped out of gear approximately 30 to 40 times within the 12 mile drive home. About 3 miles from home, I lost all gears, and it was stuck in neutral… Every single light came on, every single light that is visible on the dashboard that can be lit up, was lit. The vehicle also would not even turn off. This is the most dangerous expensive piece of garbage I have ever owned. Shame on you Polaris. Shame on you, for creating such a dangerous vehicle.

Desired outcome: I would like an answer, as well as an apology. I wish I could get my money back for this thing. I don’t even feel comfortable anymore keeping it.

Polaris Industries rebate activation

I received a $100 rebate for a Polaris product I bought. It was great to get the rebate but it came in the form of a credit card. The letter said my card was active and ready to use. Simply use the credit option. I tried to use it on a purchase at Lowes using the 4 digit access code they provided. I attempted this 3 times but the card was always declined. I called the customer service number on the letter and it connected me to BBVA. Evidently, they issued the card. The customer service rep told me that I had to call back and follow the prompts to get to access the actual pin number. That information is contrary to what the letter states. I feel that I was misled by either Polaris, BBVA or both. You can imagine standing in a line of people trying to make a purchase and holding everybody up. Now that I have the pin number, I will try to use it again. Just wish the information in the letter was correct.

Desired outcome: Provide the proper redemption process in the letter when it is sent out with the card.

Polaris Industries 2022 sportsman 570 trail air box

I just wanted to write you a couple things polaris needs to improve and why I feel it necessary to snorkel this as soon as warranty is up (I’d like to do it now). I have 187km and all fire roads. Yes, there are puddles on these fire roads & what is happening is when the water splashes up it goes between the heat shield & bottom of fuel tank & straight into the intake to the air box. The airbox seal is also terrible. I made sure not to do anything excessive & this is easy driving… 40km hr tops. Same thing was happening with my 2019 – 570. Can I install a triangle snorkle kit on this & not void my warranty… I believe this will only help the bike, not hurt it. Its going to cost me a fortune in air filters if I have to replace them after every ride. also the belt box exhaust is in a terrible spot and if you go through any water it sucks up in there & my belt starts slipping.

Desired outcome: change the design & let me install the triangle snorkle kit before all the dirt does harm to my engine & you guys will end up saying no warranty because there is dust in the airbox. screwed either way i guess.

Polaris Industries Corporate NOT honoring Heroes $500 Credit for Accessories

My husband and I placed a deposit for our General XP1000 on March 9, 2021. I was told that I was eligible for a $500.00 Heroes Promotion for being a first responder. I filled out the necessary paperwork to verify that I am, in fact, a first responder. I sent the Verification ID# to our salesperson and she acknowledged receipt. She said that I could choose $500.00 in accessories. When we got word that our machine had arrived on May 27, 2021 I was informed that the promotion had changed to $250.00 in accessories. I contacted corporate and spoke with Clayton (case #7384684) and asked if they would honor the promotion, since I still had my confirmation from back on March 9th, 2021. He said that it would be a "hard no" in his words, since the promotion is based on ship date...even though we placed the deposit and ordered our machine on March 9th. I am appalled at Polaris' dealings and approach. It feels shady and dishonest how they dealt with this promotion.

Desired outcome: Honor what was promised.

Regarding the roof, we are having big delays on parts and motorcycles because of the economy.

I would love for you to have your roof by now, but unfortunately parts have become hard to supply at the same pace they are being ordered.

And a contact regarding the $100 of credit not honouring.

Especially disappointing considering deal was done back at Xmas and no roof almost Easter.

Polaris Industries General XP 1000

The engine failed when I brought it home from the dealer. Only 1.7 hrs on the motor and it failed as I was unloading it from the trailer.

Machine has been sitting at the dealership for 6 weeks and the Polaris technicians have not been able to diagnose the problem.

Owner Connections (Polaris Customer Service) mentioned to trade it in as is but that I would have to pay for the cost difference. Not very supportive especially on a brand new machine.

Desired outcome: Polaris to stand behind the product they manufactured, warranteed and sold.
