The store would only give me a store credit because I had to leave town for an emergency and could not get back to collect my money even though I told them I would be out of town and would come back when I got back in town. They said they only do store credit after 3 days. I can not find this policy anywhere and I am very upset. I asked for my clothes back and they can not produce them.

Don't trust them!

I don’t know the ladies names that were working the store but one of them had on a floral top and the other had on kind of southern cowgirl attire. I came in to sell some clothes and the lay in the floral top was the one who went through my things and for the amount of clothes that I brought in and the time frame they were finished getting sorted through and on top of that, the store was kind of busy, the lady that was doing the sorting didn’t accurately check my items and I stood there for a moment and watched when she was nearing the end and it seemed as if she were only accepting the things that she liked herself. Half of the items that I watched her sort she barely even looked at them. She just moved them to the other pile of things that weren’t being kept. I brought in two large sized black trash bags and only one of them were sorted and the employee in the cowgirl attire assured me that they were sorted. I don’t like being lied to and that was very bad customer service. I work in the customer service field and I’ve been selling with platos closet for years so I know how the selling works.

I put my $225 Coach purse on top of a box of items and took it to Plato's closet in Tyler Texas. Their staff laid it on the counter for all to take. The lady's name that done my buy out was Kendall.

A police report was filed but nothing ever came of it. The owner refuses to call me and corporate refuses to call me. I just want to be reimbursed for the cost of my purse.

I filed a case with small claims court that cost me $125! So if somebody were to pay me $300 I would call it even.

That would cover $125 for the court cost , and $175 for my brand new Coach purse that was stolen while in Plato closets possession!

I took some items there today…not really expecting a lot of cash but, more than what they offered. I was told they picked items based on what young adults are wearing or styles that are trending at the time. Ok. Most of my items had tags on them, never been worn, the items they chose to keep was a black patent leather top and pants set and a fake leather skirt they offer me nine dollars and some change?! Would have felt better if my other items were at least were looked at…not sure how their choosing method is but I can say this place does not check all your items. I had things they hadn’t even opened to look at in my bag, if they did I want to know what it was that they saw. What I saw on the rack were not styles for young adults or styles that are trending. I walked around the store twice. I went through the racks they were dirty old shoes, dust were on down, stripes were falling off the shoes, some heels had the straps missing, out dated jeans, and faded gym shoes with the bottoms missing…. And this is what young adults are trending? year right!I felt they pick and choose what they want and who they want to help. I drove here because I made a phone call and talk to a young lady because I was telling her about their location in Cedar Hill, about them showing me a list of the things they only are taking, She went on telling me about it was under new ownership and they do things differently in Cedar Hill than they do in Arlington She also told me she couldn’t tell me over the phone about my items because she couldn’t see them but stated they have a list also but they’re all seasonal and they collect clothes for all year, and I had a good chance they would take my items, but when I got there it was a whole different story. I wouldn’t have made the trip all the way over there if I was just going to be treated with discrimination. Unless you’re a long time familiar customer or just want to give away your things then I recommend. This store is racist! I feel so humiliated and insulted and I will be reporting this store to every person I can possibly think of. I also screenshooting every review that I write…so sick of this!

You can call me mj this was the most embarrassing and unbelievable awful experience I have ever had. I just got my income taxes and wanted to shop a little. My grandpa had a dr. App I jc so I decided to go check platos out. I had about 5-6 shirts 2-3 pants 2 jackets 4 bras and 6 pairs of shoes I needed to try on. The clerk checked me in the dressing room and I began to try on items. While I was trying on 1 of the bras security tags got pulled on a little to hard and some of that ink started coming out and this white tank top also had some ink coming out. Now I must have pulled the shirt a little to hard it was really really small so after I was through I showed the clerk both items. She started counting everything and came up with that out of 29 items there was one item missing I practically stripped showed them I had nothing and I didn't even carry a pocket book with me. I dont like purses! I was detained and cops came interrogated me and the owners told me if I paid for the broken merchandise I could leave but barred for life from ever coming there. I didnt steal anything and was treated like a leopard. I paid for that merchandise which was never handed back to me I was never told i"m sorry nothing. I am going to take this to court so you better be prepared for trial! I didnt wear the up most fashion that day matter of fact was having a slouch and that's how these high on pettistol girl treated me. I have done a lot of buying and selling in this store and everytime I go there they treat the customers awful! That clerk knew she was wrong and didnt want to admit it which being accused of stealing is a very big deal! You'll be hearing from my lawyer!

I have a terrible experience every time I try to sell to the Hurstebourne Louisville KY location. I live right beside this store so I’ve tried countless times getting there when they open and it never matters, as soon as I walk in they always say they can only do store credit, no cash. They’ve also turned me away for having clothes in a bag before yet every time I go in there, that’s all I see them buying from is plastic garbage bags. The outer loop location is no better, half the time they don’t even open during the hours they’re supposed to because no one shows up to work. They are ALL always extremely rude and at this point I don’t honestly know how you’re even keeping the doors open on these places because everyone’s fed up with how they treat people.

I have been selling to the Winchester Virginia store for a year or so now and have been satisfied up until the last few times. I bring name brand, men's and women's clothes that are either new or barely worn. Nike, American Eagle, North Face, Columbia, etc. The last few times the girls working have taken nothing. I always browse and purchase while I wait. There are items on the racks that are horrid, yet my brand new, never worn, Nike shorts, high end spring dresses, clothes that still have tags on them and were purchased at the end of summer, are passed up. In my honest opinion, I feel like those "girls" are only taking clothes from people they know or like. How can you pass up a brand new pair of Nike shorts yet take a faded glory tank top. I watched it happen. A 55 gallon trash bag full and they choose not a single item. Very disappointed and it looks as if I'm not alone as several ladies were not happy as they left the store. Platos closet has just been replaced by any other store and that goes for 3 of us standing outside in disgust after being told our brand new clothes are "worn" and "stained."

I went to the sandusky ohio last night 12/21/2020 sold all name brand items brand new 1 was a coach kiss lock bag still had tags 450.00 nikey sneakers coach wallet set kancan jeans silver brand shorts victoria secret perfume brandnew sandles a sweater bath and body works lotion in total they gave 119.80 I needed to take my husband is out of work due to the virus I want this fixed and rectified they totally ripped me off

I have been in plato's closet in cheyenne wyoming, to sell my clothes 5 or more times with brand name clothes like miss me jeans some even brand new. They told me every time it was either out dated or smelled like cigarettes and I don't even smoke cigarettes. I truly like to shop at our stores but i'm starting to get very fraustrated with your cheyenne wyoming store customer service. I would really like to just wonder why they are also denying me. I really appreciate if someone could help me answer my question. Thank you.

They didn't take my bag of clothes because of a security tag I had on a brand new windbreaker that my sister gave me as a gift but it was the wrong size and she didn't have a receipt for it so I was I just gonna give it to platos closet. I've heard you guys are bias but to turn down the whole bag is ridiculous especially in this pandemic.
