Greetings
I have been a member of the Planet Fitness, 777 Broadway location for many years. On Monday Oct. 26th, I had the misfortune of encountering Andre Young. Mr. Young approached me while I was on the treadmill and short of breath. Mr. Young asked me to pull up my mask, which I did, then he proceeded to lecture, and harass me about wearing my mask. He even pulled the cord out of the treadmill, abruptly interrupting my routine. Mr. Young followed me off the 3rd floor to the 2nd floor, and continued with insulting, boisterous and belligerent behavior. I felt intimidated and afraid. There was another woman present who was not wearing a mask, but she was with a male companion. Mr. Young did not approach her with the same request. I felt that he was bullying me, because my husband was not present. I am an Essential Worker. I have worked tirelessly throughout the Coronavirus Pandemic, only to be belittle and dehumanized while trying to maintain my health. To make matters worse, as I left Planet Fitness, Mr. Young smirked and stated that he cancelled my membership without my permission. He did not provide any communication of his intentions. He failed to speak to me about any options available to me, he just cancelled my subscription. As a Club Manager I found his behavior to be very unprofessional, and dominating. I'm very upset about this matter. I need this matter to be addressed. Thank you for your time.

If it’s regarding the same Andre Young who is currently club manager of the Planet Fitness at 777 Broadway NY, I also had an uncomfortable and unprofessional experience with him. He singled me out saying hello and goodbye to him once he noticed I was a quiet woman and went out his way to single me out numerous times. He would yell and his tone sounded rude when he would say goodbye and hello to me. He was knew exactly what he was doing. I felt judged and bullied by him which is unfortunate as he is a club manager of a gym where supposedly there should be a judgement free zone. He gave me lots of anxiety to enter and leave and one day when he yelled bye to me and I quietly left the gym with my headphones in I rolled my eyes I’m frustration and with that tiny crumb of acknowledgment he needed from me so badly he jumped on the chance to berate me that he’s just a nice guy saying hi and I should say hi back! I’m allowed to enter the gym quietly and in peace and shouldn’t be yelled at because someone took it personal. When my boyfriend spoke to him that day his tone of voice went from the loud berating man he was with me to flustered low voice man. He even had the audacity to say I should have told them that I’m quiet or whatever it is so he didn’t have to harass me and target me with his greetings. I don’t own anyone an explanation and he shouldn’t have taken things personal to the point he needed to go out his way to target and bully me and make me uncomfortable to enter and leave the gym. He was progressively getting worse. A man who is tough and rude with women only shouldn’t be a club manager at a gym that promotes a judgment free zone. He really tried to act like he didn’t realize what he was doing and turn it around on me when confronted by other men like a coward. He knew he was singling me out and deliberately trying to force me to acknowledge him. His coworker who didn’t know he did this to me numerous times condoned his bullying behavior. This is so unprofessional and inappropriate and man with issues like this that causes him to behave this way towards woman should NOT be a club manager at a gym. He went out his way to embarrass me in front of anyone around and be rude only to me as a quiet woman. This is not acceptable anywhere.
