Pick n Pay customer service

Good day

Kindly assist as I am very disappointed and irate by the service I received at the Promenade Pick &pay branch.

I purchased the Hand mixer as I am a baker and use it for my small business that I run from home.

I was ex-static when I purchased the mixer on sale for such a bargain.

However its been over a year but it was still under guarantee therefore I had hope of replacing it.

I returned it not that I wanted the money back but clearly cause I need my machine it Eid and I have orders but I was just told out of stock .

That is just unacceptable Please assist in ensuring that this product is ordered as I urgently need this machine.

As per the store I was told that they awaiting stock but not once was my contact details taken to advise upon arrival.

Pick n Pay clothing sizes

Not really a complaint but I would like to bring this to the attention of the Pick 'n Pay clothing department. I am a senior citizen and think that the clothing department should cater for bigger sizes, namely the trousers for ladies. The legs on all the jeans are so narrow that it is a health risk. I understand that it is fashion dictated and the buying bulk at good prices from China but surely there is a company in China that you could buy normal clothes from not for skinny people. I am a regular size 36 but I have resorted to buying my jeans in the men's department as they are thicker, cheaper and more comfortable.
I also know plenty ladies that do exactly the same thing. This is just from a consumer's point of view.
I enjoy buy clothes from Pick 'n Pay and it is affordable for a pensioner.
Thank you

Pick n Pay rude supervisor!!!

I'm so disgusted with the attitude I received from a supervisor at pnp in vangate mall today (19/05/2019).

I did my shopping and went to the checkout point. The cashier noticed that I was charged full price for markdown items that I purchased. She called a supervisor (Abdulrazak) to override. I stood there for almost 15 minutes waiting for him to come and assist me. His standing at the customer service desk (by the switchboard) and I waved at him to come over. He looked at me and just continued with whatever his doing.

He eventually came over with his crap attitude, doesn't greet or apologize for the long wait. Then I asked him if he know how long I've been waiting for a supervisor. Also told him that he doesn't even greet or apologize.

So instead of apologizing, his reaction was to shout at me! Can't I see his busy with a customer! Then he shouts at the cashier asking her if he's the only supervisor, couldn't she get someone else! (Bare in mind that he was standing by the switchboard and couldn't think of making an announcement to call another supervisor).

He did what he had to, still shouting at me that he won't apologize and all and left. How on earth did he even get this position?! Is this what pnp allow their employees to do to loyal customers? I am still so angry and disgusted for the way I was treated!

I will NEVER set foot at pnp vangate mall ever again!

Stop replying you idiots and learn how to spell. You idiots misspelled mummy and patients. You were not there. I was . I was asked to leave because this woman was looking at me funny. I told her that if she did not stop that I would beat her and her baby. Then the rude manager asked me to leave. He said he was with another customer and that I had to wait.

If he is with another customer and you cannot figure out that you should wait until he is done then you had it coming to you. You are an adult and learning to wait for him to be done with someone else is something you should have learned years ago. How would you feel if he were helping you and he left you to help someone else. You sound like a self entitled brat.

If she were being helped and he stopped to help someone else she would complain about that. She thinks that the world revolves around her. That everyone should drop what they are doing to help her. Whether she is a child or an adult her attitude comes from her upbringing.

He is a self entitled brat. Mommy probably never taught him manners or patiences. Now if the supervisor was not busy and took 15 minutes to get to him, I can see his issue. BUT the supervisor was busy with another customer. He thinks he is some sort of king that they must stop what they are doing and help him. I am surprised he is not demanding that the other customer or the supervisor to have their heads chopped off, or have them boiled in hot oil for making him wait.

Evening Mark

I am not a self entitled brat. The cashier asked the packer to go and call the supervisor, which she did. I've waited for about 15 minutes when I asked what's the hold up and where the supervisor is. She pointed in his direction and I just signalled him. I waited for another 10 minutes after that patiently. If only he had to greet and a simple apology by saying "sorry for the long wait, " everything would've been fine. Instead he came with and attitude. Wheres the work ethics in that? I never asked him to leave that customer and come and assist me immediately. I wasn't rude to him nor did I shout. I mean, this is pnp, how can there only be 1 supervisor available over a weekend?

I don't have to wait my turn. That other idiot was taking a long time with the manager. You were not there and you also misspelled some words. That other idiot has no right taking such a long time. You are another idiot that cannot spell.

You need to learn how to spell. It is obvious that your brain is still developing. It is spelled patients, not patience. It is spelled mummy, not mommy.

Actually what I meant to say is both spelling are considered correct. One the British spelling one the US spelling. But both spelling are correct. Also you need to learn the to spell yourself before bashing others.

patience -the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.
patients -a person receiving or registered to receive medical treatment.

their -belonging to or associated with the people or things previously mentioned or easily identified.
there
in, at, or to that place or position.
"we went on to Paris and stayed there eleven days"
used when pointing or gesturing to indicate the place in mind.
"there on the right"
at that point (in speech, performance, writing, etc.).
"“I'm quite—” There she stopped"
in that respect; on that issue.
"I don't agree with you there"
used to indicate one's role in a particular situation.
"at the end of the day, we are there to make money"
2.
used in attracting someone's attention or calling attention to someone or something.
"hello there!"
3.
used to indicate the fact or existence of something.
"there's a restaurant around the corner"

You see the reason he had to yell at you was because mommy or daddy was not there to correct your rude behavior. I know that you are a child because must adults know that when someone is busy with another person, or doing something they should wait their turn. Mommy or daddy were not there to correct your rude behavior and call you out for it, so he had to. This has nothing to do with his lack of management skills, but with your lack of respect and patience. If he is doing something else and helping another customer wait your turn. The world does not revolve around you. I ask were were your parents? Surely you are too young and immature to shop alone. You are angry and disgusted and all of this could have been prevented if you had the patience to wait your turn. Sounds to me like you needed to be scolded because mommy and daddy were not there to correct you.

Do not bring my parents into this. I was raised pretty well. I was taught that you greet before you speak. And I suggest that you go back to school and focus on your spelling before you want to write crap that doesn't make any sense. You want to talk about immaturity, the crap you writing says it all that your brain is still in developing process...

The word you spelled wrong is "mummy" it is spelled with an "u" not an "o". That is why your brain is not fully developed. You are immature. Why should I wait my turn. The other customer was taking 15 minutes. THis one woman was looking at me funny. I got angry at her and told her that if she did not stop that I would slap her and beat her baby. She got scared and left.

Oh grow up child. If he was doing something else learn to wait your turn. Sounds to me like you were rude and sarcastic first and had it coming to you. The reason that he had to shout at you was mommy was not there to do so. Where was she anyway? IF your parents had taught you to wait until someone is done talking with someone else he would not have to do so. You were rude to expect him to drop helping the other customer and help you. What are you in kindergarten that you do not know how to wait your turn? How on earth is your mother allowing you to shop without an adult with you. Clearly you are not old or mature enough to do so. Wait your turn, stop acting like the world revolves around you and you won't be an issue. He was with another customer and you need to wait your turn. Grow up.

Pick n Pay product and service

Good Day,

I have emailed PnP Ottery today and await feedback and I am sure they would ignore the email but never the less this would be on radio if they do not resolve my issue an credit for the appliance that was bought.

Pensioners purchased a appliance an given as a wedding gift an it did not function an when returned pnp demands a till slip. The slip was misplaced but the point system on pnp card when swiped has a electronic record kept so if the customer provides the card pnp can reprint the till slip to have the appliance returned at the exchange desk. They refused and the pensioners had to purchase a second appliance to hand to the wedding couple not to feel bad. Pick N Pay you are disgusting to do that to pensioners. My parents has supported your retail since established and they live in the area 35+ years

Pick n Pay Ottery should be ashamed of the ethical standards in business towards customers. Its time the people of Western Cape who has been through bad service standard start shaming retailers on air for being ignorant towards assisting the people who keeps them in business.

Now as per image you can see my parents has two appliance as the new one would be given to the couple. And the other new appliance being non functional is a waste which Pick N Pay ottery hyper has zero concern so People Of South Africa if you ever purchase a Philips product from Pick N Pay please Dont Support Them because they cannot support you as end consumers.

Pick n Pay food hygiene and safety

I purchased 8 vetkoek/magwinyas from Pnp tokai branch yesterday. I took it for lunch but decided to have it this morning before taking my medication. I chewed on something strange and spat it out. To my disgust, it was a bloodied plaster. I took pics, called the customer service department and lodged a complaint, I emailed them the pics shortly after 9:00 this AM, hours later no call from the Branch Manager or any concerned person.

Kaycee, the lady who lodged my complaint handled the matter well and said she will refer my complaint to whoever handles such matters. I asked that this matter be treated with the seriousness that it deserves because it can be detrimental to my health because I am a cancer patient receiving chemotherapy and my immune system is compromised.

I clearly stated that I do not want to be offered a refund or have the item replaced as offered to me when I lodged my complaint this morning.

I became literally sick by lunch-time (vomiting, headache and nausea), was not able to eat my lunch which is very important for someone receiving chemo. I am unable to focus on or perform my duties today. It may very well be mind over matter but it has affected me in a negative way.

I am disappointed that Pnp management didn't respond accordingly, I feel that they don't think this matter is serious. Unacceptable and appalling.

Pick n Pay poor customer service

On Sunday 28th April 2019 my 3 children and I went shopping at the Pavilion Westville store. My children aged 24, 12 and 8 months. While shopping my eldest noticed a special on doughnuts which were placed on a table near the bakery with a sign informing of the price i.e R7.39 each buy one get one free. She then placed 6 x doughnuts in a paper bag and we continued shopping. Her calculation was that if she purchased 3 doughnuts the other 3 would be free. When we had completed our shopping we proceeded to the queue. My daughter had a number of items separate to my items in terms of payment and wanted to also do a cash back at the till point. As we approached the till point together my daughter asked me if she could do her payment first. The cashier first of all didn't greet ( which is very normal not only in Pick n Pay stores but everywhere, we weren't really phased by that) what did irritate us, however was the cashier, without asking whether we are paying separate or not or even whether my daughter's item were complete for payment, completed the sale leaving out the doughnuts. What was worse was that she didn't know how to ring up the doughnuts saying that we hadn't weighted it and there isn't a barcode. She proceeded to say that we will have to pay separately for the doughnuts, which my daughter and I refused to do so as she wanted to complete one transaction paying by card. The cashier then range her buzzer for the supervisor on duty, when she came to the till point she asked the cashier what was needed - the cashier explained to her she didn't have a barcode by not explaining for what, we then asked that she look in the bag to see what was inside so as to then get it barcoded to be scanned for payment, however the second problem was that since the sale was already confirmed - the supervisor also asked that my daughter pay separately for the doughnuts, all this after not even being sure of what barcode to use. We refused and asked for the manager on duty. In the interim this cashier asked her colleague how to ring up the doughnuts or "add" the doughnuts to the sale. It was only then that she mentioned to us that my daughter actually had won a prize. Very surprised we asked what was the prize. The cashier said she didn't know but as she completed the sale without including the doughnuts "congratulations" popped up on her screen. Together with her colleague they were trying to figure out how to include the doughnuts without forfeiting the prize my daughter had won. By this time along comes the supervisor and manager. This is the interesting part because as the manager approached the cashier she was clueless about what to do and how to do it - all 3 staff cashier, supervisor and manager stood mumbling to each other not informing us of anything and how all this would be resolved. By this time my daughter and I are furious as my 12 year old is standing aside holding my 8 month old ( who by now is getting irritated) and at this time there was just a lot of shouting, bickering extreme rudeness especially from another staff member who had popped up on the scene. One of the customer from the till point next to us got herself involved and your staff entertained her since she was "siding" with them. There was an exchange of their contact numbers, it was really ugly. Now all we "shouting about was 1. the staff need to know of whatever specials are in store 2. the signage displayed has to give clarity on what has to be done i.e that the doughnuts should be weighed at the bakery 3. apology for taking up our time by in error completing the sale without including the doughnuts ( we all make finger errors) 4. have a polite attitude towards customers and a genuine care approach...my list can go on. Our whole shopping experience at Pavilion store was a nightmare and we will never, ever shop there again or even recommend any friends or family members to shop there and will most definitely tell of our terrible shopping experience. Very bad for business on your part. These are the people involved:
1. Cashier - Norma
2. Supervisor - Phindile
3. Manager - Devaskha
4 Staff member who just included herself in the whole scene and was utterly rude - Gladness

We hope that you will receive this complaint with sincerity and understand our frustration and very bad shopping experience and attempt to resolve.

I am a smart shopper ( for many years) card number: [protected] who until now absolutely loved shopping at Pick n Pay in it's entirety i.e liquor shop and clothing shop so you can imagine my extreme disappointment.

I can be contacted on [protected].

I am extremely disappointed in the service and stock levels, we live the farthest away from cities with malls and more clothing stores close by.

Pick n Pay out of stock - oningeligte personeel

Pick n Pay treatment of consumers

Yesterday, 22.04.2019 after spending r 950.00 (cashier: nasiwe mngcoko ref: [protected]) with pick 'n pay cape gate, when leaving the buzzer went off. I in error had not paid for clothes amounting to r250, which has not hidden but in plain sight over the baby pram. When the buzzer sounded I turned around, realising my error - I apologised for my mistake and headed towards the cashiers when I was confronted by security who asked me to come to the office. I explained that I wanted to pay and was told to simply follow. Over two and a half hours (13.09 - 15:45) passed while they checked video footage and the "stand-in" manager donovan claasen and security - donovan indicated that he thought it was a mistake, but phoned the police... Suddenly I who had just spend close to r1000 in pick 'n pay cape gate store - who admitted that I made an error that I wanted to pay - had to be confronted with the police... Who came 2.5 hours later and con firmed there was no intent to steal. I am disgusted at pick 'n pay and their staff (donovan claasen & security) behaviour and the trauma my family had to suffer because of this ordeal. Even after the police said I could leave there was no apology offered. I will never set foot in a pick 'n pay again, I will encourage my friends and family to rather shop at alternative providers.

Pick n Pay zevenwacht staff member called "pretty" - rude!!!

I had the worst customer service treatment humiliating experience yesterday, 22-04-19, at Pick 'n Pay Clothing Store in Zevenwacht Mall, Kuilsriver, by a girl called Pretty! What an absolute rude girl she is! She should not be working in customer service or with customers at all, she was sarcastic, rude and just not friendly at all! let alone did not even bother to greet! I asked to speak to the manager about her attitude, she was a complete [censored] behind the till. I addressed it with the manager Elizabeth, but seriously that girl "Pretty" should not be working in Retail. She is way too miserable to be assisting customers and to have such a rude attitude, I would like an apology from her or to see proof that she was dealt with. I worked in retail for many years... So I will not be humiliated by a staff member behind a till when i'm paying for my goods! I would appreciate someone in a more senior position to make contact with me regarding this matter so I can explain it in detail.

Pick n Pay perishables

Good day,

I do my monthly grocery shopping at Pick n' Pay and it has come to my attention that every time I purchase fish, it's off( rotten) . Due to health reasons / hygiene I discard of it... but yesterday I had a similar experience but this time around it was the whole grilled chicken . Not only was it under cooked but off/ rotten as well with a foul smell. I had to re-cook, grill it in the oven. Usually I wouldn't complain but this has happened one to many times. My concern is that it could cause food poisoning and other serious allergies especially with the food.

Thank you for your time and understanding.

Kind regards

Pick n Pay basmati rice and absolute lack of customer "care"

I've lodged this complaint via email and on Hello Peter, and it's been two and a half weeks and I've had no response over and above the token "we're looking into this, we're escalating this" and so on.
Not good enough, Pick n Pay. Shocking service.

As I live remotely on a farm, I shop in bulk and travel only seldom to my nearest Pick n Pay 45kms away. I bought four packs of Pick n Pay Basmati rice (expiry date 19/12/19) late in February, and on opening the first pack late in March, I found, in the rice, a live worm and its stringy nest - yuck.
I took pictures of the worm, the nest, the four packs and sent a complaint (with a request to refund all four packs) to Pick n Pay's customer email address on 27 March.
An auto response arrived followed by a request for more information, which I provided.
On 29 March, more than one week ago, the issue was apparently ''escalated to the corporate brand department".
After hearing nothing from anyone, I sent a reminder to Siphesihle Ndlovu on 31 March, and a reply came (3 April) that the matter had been ''assigned to a Food Technologist and they'd revert back to me directly".
I'm still waiting.
How long does it take for someone to acknowledge that worms in dry goods is unacceptable, and to simply refund me (for the four packs - because I've a bad taste in my mouth for all Pick n Pay produce right now and wouldn't consider eating any of the the other packs of rice - especially as they all have the same batch number).
Pick n Pay - your customer service is shocking. Bad enough that your product is contaminated and inedible, but that you can't simply acknowledge the problem and make right timeously, says a lot about how very (UN)important your customers are to you.
It'd be so simple and so easy for you to credit me the R100 or so, with a token additional voucher for making me so utterly peeved, but you'd rather lose a customer and have her share all this with everyone she knows and online?
Sies, Pick n Pay, sies.

These are the various reference numbers I've received from PnP, with no joy, no acknowledgement, no refund, nothing. [protected] [protected] (130368).

Pick n Pay ripe and ready avocado

I bought ripe and ready avocados a few days ago and they were perfect. So today, 11 April 2019, I went back to buy more for my salad. When I took them, they did feel hard, but I thought it was because they were just unpacked from the fridge, since they were very cold. I got back to work and started preparing my salad. The avocado was hard. The packaging says ripe and ready, and 4 out of 5 days I have an avocado for lunch. So eating today was very unpleasant. I am really disappointed since I paid R35 for it.

Pick n Pay complaining about management

Good Afternoon

About 3 weeks ago myself and my sisters were entering Pick & Pay Ottery when i walked past their fruit and veg section. Here i saw the Store Manager, Miguel Ferreira shouting at one of his staff members as if it was just the 2 of them in the store. I was absolutely shocked and disgusted to say the least, here was Management shouting at one of his staff members as if this guy was the worst piece of crap around, entirely obvlious to the customers in the shop. I, myself am in a management position and I have never disrespected one of my people like that and i couldn't believe the gall of the man. I walked away extremely upset but as i got to the meat area at the back of the store, here was Miguel Ferreira standing and shouting at a staff member manning the fresh fish counter. I stood there incredulous at this man's audacity and actually went to a staff member and asked his name and surname. About 3 or 4 staff members came walking fast around one of the aisle's with absolute fear written all over their faces because as i could make out from their nerves chatter, 'they were scared he was going to shout at them too'. I cannot reiterate enough as to how disgusted i was. Your staff looked like stray dogs who were sure that the animal shelter was going to come and catch them and bundle them off to the shelter. If this is the kind of Management you have Managing your staff, you as Pick & Pay should be ashamed of yourselves. A giant Conglomorate who cannot employ humane people to manage their staff...I am hoping that with this mail you will take drastic steps to correct your Management's behaviour because that could have been my son that was so verbally attacked by a Senior and I promise you I would not have left it at a simple complaint. That was an experience i will never forget and am not even sure i would ever want to support a Pick & Pay again, and I might be one person out of millions who buys from yourselves but remember it is one person who could have made a difference to your turnover, no matter how meagre.

Regards
Lucinda Stallenberg
