Petland Puppy.

Do not by a puppy from Petland. We purchased a morkie puppy, I noticed she was cough and wheezing the night we bought her. Took her to the vet and was told she had kennel cough they gave her antibiotics. A couple of weeks later still on meds she was still having a bit of a cough and 2 days later started seizing. A couple of days later she passed away. Petland and “pet care solutions” has denied the claim against her death. We only had her for less than a month. Now we are out almost 6 grand or a little over and no puppy.

Desired outcome: Refund

Petland Credit

We purchased or dog Mabel last year. We had two payments left on her purchase with Petland. We mailed our check two weeks prior to due date and Petland claimed they had not received it. So I called and paid off the balance. We got a statement in the mail that they not only received our phone payment, but also our check on the same day. (I believe they held it) They company charged us.20 in interest. When I called I spoke to a woman that would not allow me to talk. She kept talking over me. She then hung up on me I mean it’s twenty cents to the principle of the matter is that Petland doesn’t not treat customers right. I won’t be using them EVER again. I believe you didn’t think I could possibly pay this off and you saw an opportunity to rip someone off for interest. Well you only got.20 out of me. Someone should really investigate these crooks.

Desired outcome: Give me back my twenty cents and close my account

Petland Sold me a sick puppy

Unfortunately, the puppy you had priced at four thousand dollars was given to me ill. She had not been properly vaccinated against kennel cough. Yes she had her first vaccine at 6 weeks old but did not receive the 2nd one which should have be administered the week of July 2nd. This led to her getting kennel cough , to getting bronchitis and then because she did not receive treatment at your establishment led to her getting bronchial pneumonia. The day we brought her home she was already coughing. We chalked it up to a new environment and allergies, obviously not considering the fact that a 4000 dollar puppy would be given to us ill. Within the 4th day of having this puppy at my home she is coughing so much it smells like she has blood in the back of her throat. We call 8 different vets who recommended to immediately take her to a pet hospital. We get to the first one that will take her and drop her off to wait for the results.

We get a call with the results about two hours later where we find out she has bronchial pneumonia and parasites in her stomach. We go to petland to 1. Figure out what to do about this and 2. Let them know that our puppy who was here 4 days ago has two very contagious illnesses and one that can be given two humans as well if they are in contact with the puppies stool. We have two very young children at our home that could have been exposed and got parasites from this puppy. He tells us to call pet solutions since we know what is happening so soon they will go ahead and put a card on file and we will not have to pay anymore out of pocket. We had to put 300 dollars down just to get her into the hospital for initial testing. We call pet solutions who tells us we will have to pay for everything upfront and they will get back with us in 48 hours to let us know if they will cover it. At this point we are understandably upset. We are speaking with the fort Walton beach manager who is tell us he will call the owner so they can put there card down for the vet bill and also being told because we rushed our sick dog to the wrong vet that they will not cover her vet bills. About 20 calls back and fourth from the pet store and pet solutions later we are now paying 781 dollars out of pocket to take care of a puppy that was given to us ill.

Also If there is any question about how serious this illness was I have spoken to the vet in detail about everything. He has agreed to write a formal letter of everything that was wrong with this poor dog and the treatment it should have received. If I had not brought this puppy that we have had for 4 days into the emergency hospital she would have died.

Petland Puppies

I came in with my roommates today to look for a puppy, it was the second place we’d been to that day. We waited 45 minutes after putting my name on the waitlist with no one else ln it ahead of me. There was only two other people in the store with us. After 45 minutes I went to ask when we’d be able to see the puppy we wanted to see as we wanted a bigger puppy. No one pointed or looked at the puppy we wanted in the 45 minutes we were there. I went up to ask when we’d be able to see the puppy we asked to see. And a blonde girl employee said “you’re not here to buy but just to play with them, so I’m taking care of our real customers first”. I have never had a employee speak to me like that when I’ve asked to look at a puppy in a almost dead store, we then just left because of her attitude towards us and her continued dirty looks, whispering and pointing while speaking to her friends in the store. this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a Petland. As I didn’t ask or say I’m here to just play with the puppies, I asked to look at one as I’m in the market to get a little guy with my roommates. She needs a major attitude check.

Desired outcome: Allowed us to see the puppy we were looking at and see if he would be a good fit for us.

Petland Purebred Siberian Husky

I bought what is supposed to be a purebred Siberian husky in September 2021 who was born on 7/4/2021 The reason I went to Petland is because they guarantee puppies that are not inbreed, that are expected to have good health and good temperament. I have a 10 year old son so a dog with great temperament and no trauma or ptsd was very important to me and worth the extremely high prices. I have had dozens of dogs, mostly all rescues. I wanted a puppy with a clean slate that was very unlikely to have aggression issues that was going to be my sons best friend. I have the perfect environment for a husky with a fenced in back yard where he can run and a very calm and quite home. Within the first couple months of having Bandit I noticed a tumor was slowly growing in the gum of his mouth. The vet continued to examine it for awhile and eventually it got to the point where it was hanging out of his mouth and affecting his ability to eat. The vet had to put him to sleep and remove it. Due to having the tumor, I thought his behavior was caused by pain. He never wanted attention or affection. He wanted to be left alone. I tried to socialize him since the day I got him and anytime he is near another dog he screams and tried to get to the dog. At first I thought it was excitement and that he wanted to play but it was stress and anxiety. He has become so aggressive that he can not be around other dogs. I have tried everything possible and it always gets very bad very fast. He is currently on two medications reconcile 32 mg and trazodone 100 mg and it helps greatly but he is still worse off mentally than any rescue dog I have ever had. I found a vet who specializes in behavior and aggression issues who believes that his behavior issues and aggression are due to coming from a puppy mill and possibly being inbred. So I got a genetic test kit to find out if he could possibly be inbred and he scored higher than a purebred is supposed to score. I have never been bit by any of my dogs. I know bandit doesn’t want to hurt my family but when he sees other dogs he looses control and does. One time he bit off my fathers finger when my dad was trying to calm him. I love Bandit, he is part of the family so I am doing everything I possibly can to make him better. I don’t care what it takes medication, training, a specialist but I’m reaching a point where he is too scary and too much of a risk to keep. If I didn’t have him since he was about 3 months, I would think he was badly abused or forced to fight other dogs. He is not even 2 years old yet and his hair is turning grey. It’s heartbreaking and something needs to be done. Whoever is breeding these dogs, whatever is going on in the process, it is a lifelong impact on the dog that does not go away with a loving home. So many times I felt like it’s all too much and wanted to get rid of him but I am afraid for what would happen to him and just can’t. To me a pet is like a child, you don’t just get rid of them, so to have the thought cross my mind at all says a lot about his temperament. Petland is making a massive amount of money. I paid over $5,000 for a dog that regular breeders sell for $800-$1200. I could only imagine how greedy Petland and their partners have become by this significant profit selling puppies. Thus leading to the very severe issues these puppies will face their entire lives, many of which will end up abandoned and filling up shelters. Caused by the extreme measures Petlands breeders are willing to take to make the most amount of money. They need investigated, there should be stricter laws not just for dog breeding but also for any pet store that sells puppies. Petland is just as guilty as their partners because they care more about the amount of money that they make, than they do about the truth in their guarantees regarding their puppies.

Desired outcome: Awareness and investigation

Petland Pugs-female puppy

On April 22, I lost my 13-year female pug due to some tumors. I was devastated and sad. I was told by getting another dog my broken heart could mend so I went to Petland, and I found a beautiful baby pug. I was surprised that it cost 7200.00, but my family member said he would split the cost and if we breed the little female pug we can pay it off faster. I immediately got attached to the dog, however, she would go throw some tantrums and destroy her surroundings with no apparent reason. It wasn't everytime so I ignored the signs. I didn't know at the time it was a male-female hormone disorder. However, later I noticed that she had a problem urinating, and I went to check her and found an elongated penis or as the Vet continue to insist, an elongated clitoris obstructing her urination. I immediately went to my Vet, and she told me that my dog was a hermaphrodite. I called Petland and they continue to deny that I had a Hermaphrodite. I continue this back and forth about this elongated thing and that it was obstructing my dog to urinate. Finally, Petland put a claim in and went back and forth with me because they didn't want to pay the surgery to remove the elongated thing. They finally agreed and went and offer me another dog. I had this puppy three months already and couldn't understand why they didn't offer me an exchange the first weeks I had it instead they continued denying that the dog was a hermaphrodite. I asked Petland what they were going to do if I do take the exchange with the present dog I have, and they couldn't give me an answer. Knowing that I was concern about the dog they told me she probably be adopted and then I asked them" Are you going to tell the new owners if you do sell them this puppy that she was a hermaphrodite and might have future complication? Petland did not response. I said can you quarantine that you will not put her to sleep at 6 months? Petland did not response, so I kept the dog to have her have her surgery. But there was condition on the claim. She is to have free medical if there is any complication because of this operation and that they would reduce the price in half that I am paying for her after the operation. They went back on their deal and is presently billing me for the full value of the dog. The Agent at the claim's agreement with me at the time and I had them do the surgery. After all the denials from Petland, my puppy ended up having ovaries-uterus, elongated thing, and of course a testicle. A Hermaphrodite. Since I couldn't breed her, I believe I was entitled for half price but since Petland spend 3500.00 fixing her in surgery, they went back on the deal. I have done everything not to get an attorney, but, if Petland refuses to acknowledge that they gave me a damage puppy I will have no choice but to do so. I am going to try over and over to resolve this until I can no longer but have to seek counsel.

Desired outcome: I want my bill to be in half. This dog is a damage dog and cannot be breed.

Petland Skinny Pig - Injured in their care and they will not help out! Buyer Beware!

I am in Alberta Canada and purchased a skinny pig just over 2 weeks ago. I noticed the little piggie was limping once I got her home but thought it was just the way they walked. After about a week, the little one was really favoring her right leg and also had a lump on her bottom. (never noticed prior to adopting her).

When I first adopted her, I had to sign a form that asked questions about my home and who would look after the pet and all that, I don't remember it saying much about the warranty. I was told by 2 of Petlands employees that if something happens with the animal in the 30 days of warranty to take her to the vet and then bring them the bill so I can get reimbursed for the vet bill.

Fast forward 2 weeks, I take my piggie to the vet and was advised that my piggie was indeed injured on her leg and had a cyst on her bottom. After I left the vet and dropping the piggie off at home, I went to the Petland where I adopted her and spoke to the manager about the issue. Well, she was rude and smelt of smoke big time and said no I did it all wrong and that I have to call their warranty department and they will advise if the animal actually needs a vet or not. What? I told her what I was told and she kept saying, no no, that is not how we do it here.

She (Cory) would contact the head office and call me back, well she never did, head office called me several days later and wow talk about a company who does not give a crap about animals and scams you for more money if you want the injured animal back.

Head office said the injuries I explained to her were not even important enough to take the piggie to the vet in their minds! Whoooa what the heck? A limping animal with a possible broken leg is not worthy of a vet visit?

Also said that I can take the animal back to Petland, sign a warranty surrender and they will take the animal to their vet to see if anything is actually wrong with her and once she is fully healed, I can PAY AGAIN to re-adopt her! So I now would have to pay the adoption fee again if I want her back, who does this? And if I don't want her I don't get any money back either. I said this doesn't even make sense and all the lady said is it had to do with legalities. I don't think so, that is a scam if I do say so myself. She also mentioned that if the animal can not be fully healed they will put her down! OMG, who does this? All those innocent animals in their care need to be helped and removed from them now!

This company needs to stop selling animals asap, and also if they do continue they need to honor the warranty and stop scamming us pet parents out of more money.

I will never shop or buy anything from them again, they need to be investigated for all this.

So upset with how they represent themselves.

Desired outcome: Pay for the vet bill that I incurred resulting from their poor care.

Petland Staff Rudeness

Today, Sunday October 28th at approximately 4:30 pm, the 3 women staff members (only name I got was the managers who was Amanda) were standing by puppy meet and greet. I asked to see a Great Dane with my 4 year old son but quickly realized he was too nippy so I asked to see the chocolate lab and was denied my request, rudely in front of my son. When I asked if I offended them she said no, we are only doing one puppy for each person. As I was observing a family visiting with a puppy I noticed that they asked to visit with another puppy and were not denied. When I asked why, she said because they are taking home a puppy, I said as was I can I please see the chocolate lab, the manager Amanda said no, and that was that.

Desired outcome: The rude and unruley manager Amanda and her two minions gotta go. You lost a customer and I am sure I am not the only one!

Petland Petland ferrets

My daughter found the Petland Ferrets website (www.petlandferrets.com). The website is very well done and very believable, complete with detailed ferret care pages, a blog, and a list of adoptable ferrets... all seemed good, except that they turned out to be a TOTAL scam. We emailed back and forth with this company for two weeks and finally decided to buy four ferrets from them for our Montessori school. We sent $1200 via zelle (red flag #1). They asked for the payment to be broken up into two parts. Part one was sent to: [protected]@gmail.com via Zelle and part two was sent to [protected]@gmail.com also via Zelle. They said this is because the first account reached its monthly limit (red flag #2). The owner of this company appears to be Ogonnaya Ogudu (red flag #3) and the address is in San Antonio, TX 78201 (or Africa maybe?) We were a little concerned by their unsecure payment process (they said they couldn't afford the Pay Pal fees as a small business, I can understand that). Also concerning was the African names (they said that they are Arican American and descendants of slaves, ok we are happy to support African American run businesses.)

In the end, after we sent $1200 and waited two days for our new pets to arrive, they called me on shipping day to say that we needed to Zelle them $2000 more to a third email address in order to upgrade the crate to a temperature-controlled electronic crate. They said they would refund this money to us as soon as the animals were delivered... Uhuh... At this point, we hung our heads because we had obviously been scammed. We spent $1200 (and they even tried to get more!) and never received any ferrets. So sad. We have children crying their eyes out now because they had been waiting so patiently for the arrival of their new furry friends. Now we have to figure out how to get our money back and how to end these scammers for good so they never steal from anyone else again.

I really appreciate your help in spreading the word about this fraudulent business.

I had the same issue. But I went on to upgrade the crate and spent $2000 to then realize that I was scammed. I now got a ferret at a pet store and named it Ginger #3 to continue the reminder not to Zelle unless I know the person. Ginger #2 had a serious health issue when we got her at the pet store, to explain why #3.

I had a similar situation and your post saved me a lot of money. The person was selling puppies and needed me to send a large deposit, the name for the payment was also Ogonnaya Ogudu… I was trying to get my four year old a support pup. When I asked the woman who claimed her name was Sandra why the account had this name listed she said that was the vets name for shots and chipping sue even sent a video of puppies. It was very believable but, once I searched that name I found your post and you just saved me. I appreciate your post. Thank you so much! The world is full of awful people and I would have hated explaining that to a four year old.

Petland Petland (Comenity Bank) Customer Service Representative in Collections

I was contacted by Comenity Bank (Petland) representative in collections. I was behind on my payment, which is on me. I contacted them, made a payment, it was current. They called me again, when the next payment was coming due, and ask when I was going to make my payment, I said when it is due. She wanted me to then. I said no. I will pay it when it is due. And besides that, we have already contacted them about our payments. She said I didn't. She said I needed to learn how to budget better. She would not let me speak, she was talking over me, would not answer my questions when I did get to finish a sentence. She said she was putting me as non compliant and she hung up on me. When she was the one treating me like nothing. Instead of trying to at the very least, be polite and respectful, if there was an issue, there was a better way to go about it. She is not in my home. She does not know my situation. It is her job to work with the customer to help create a solution. Not put her judgements on me and my situation.

Desired outcome: Personally, I believe she does not need to be working with people, especially people they are calling people for collections. More than likely, they are calling people who have fallen on hard times.

Petland Overcharged for dog and “free” accessories, vet, etc

A family member purchased a dog at petland Sunday and she was extremely overcharged and taken advantage of. The dog cost was $4500 and is sold at several breeders for less than $1000. When looking thru the book they provide, there is nothing that was given as free (the charged off pricing is inflated by 2-3 times the amount it would cost if I walked in a store and purchased it), the vet discounts are not paid by petland. The vet contracts with pet land to get patients and they offer a discount for the referral. The registration of the dog included is the same stuff you can sign up fir and get your self for around $40-80. Franchise business like this hike the prices because they know you are going to one in and fall in love with a dog and not want him pinned back up in the glass crate so they have you sucked in to throw all that money away while the salesperson makes a commission which is higher for every dollar they can sell the dog for. You won't see price tags on the dogs because they make that price up when they see how interested you are in the dog. I am filing a claim for half of the amount paid for the dog and would like to bring the few extra things back to the store for a full refund on those. A demand of half of the total $4500 is what we will set for reimbursement and petland will be returned all "extra" free items that were bundled with the dog will be returned for a cash refund.

Desired outcome: To receive $2000 back for overcharging

Petland recently purchased puppy

While on vacation purchased a Siberian husky puppy for 2500.00.Louisville Ky. mall rd.Picked him up Saturday oct 6th and headed back to Pa.Monday Oct.8th I contacted our vet for a wellness check .Appt given was Oct 22nd but called due to the concern of constant diarrhea .Vet seen him Oct.19th and put him on medicine .Still sick took him back to vet and they put him on an antibiotic which still hasn't helped.I filed a claim thru pet solutions and this past week Lois called and said we defaulted on our warranty that the puppy wasn't seen within the 4 days (in which we were never told this by the young salesman), and they would not be reimbursing us anything. All Im asking for is the reimbursement for vet and medicine bills .This is a sick puppy and for what we paid for him should be extremely healthy. We have been doing everything necessary to nurse our pup back to be healthy. We love him and petland needs to take responsibility for selling us a sick pup.I also filed a complaint with the better business bureau and I will also be filing a complaint with consumer affairs and also letting the loan company know we were sold a sick puppy.Pet solutions needs to take responsibility and pay our vet and medicine expenses for this pup until he is well.We own a 3yrs Siberian husky and never had this problem.so all Im asking is to be reimbursed for vet and medicine expenses until our pup is healthy like he should have been when we bought him.Thank You for your time and I hope to get some resolution soon.

Why the hell would anyone purchase a puppy from Petland? You must be out of your damn minds!. They are no better than a puppy mill. They throw dead puppies in the garbage. They do not seek medical attention for the animals in their care until it is TOO LATE. JESUS H. WHEN THE HELL IS EVERYONE GOING TO LEARN!

Petland account assure / comenity

I purchased Account Assure protection for my Petland Credit account. This would pay off the account due to death or permanent disability. I am a recently disable veteran rated at 1005 total and permannently disable.
I informed Petland numerous times of the situation as well as submitting the required forms to the company. This occurred in 2017 with my second submission occurring in early December. I received no correspondence in refer to the account or status of the Account Assure being activated. January 15/17th I received a letter stating that my Account Assure was cancelled as of January 2018. I again contacted Petland who referred me to Comenity as they handle Account Assure. Comenity referred me back to Petland. I requested a supervisor which was not given. The representative said that he would email another department about the issue. Meanwhile I am receiving calls threatening legal account. I would like my Account Assure protection to be granted and not to business with either company again.

Petland fraud on puppy purchase

Hi everyone - I wanted to post our petland horror story on this site. First I want to say I am credible professional who works in the medical field, and my partner and I are new to the robinson area. We own a rescued greyhound who is 11 years old, and I have always been around rescued dogs. We decided to get a puppy because we wanted the experience of raising a dog together. Being that petland is in a good area of town and the binder of protection they offered with the puppy we thought it would be a good option and pet store aside we did fall in love with the dog. We had told the pet store that our apartment didnt really prefer dogs below 6 months (Even though we had gained approval for it), and before we left with everything signed the owner came out and handed us another medical record - doctored. This struck me as very odd but I thought his best interest was for the dog finding a good home - little did I know. We brought her home and she started picking at her eyes and had a deep cough. Immediately I was concerned and had phoned five points vet clinic (Who have done a brilliant job) and had her to the vet immediately the next day. She had a bad upper respiratory infection, pink eye in both eyes, worms, and after a second vet visit crystals in her urine. Set aside the steep cost we paid for the dog and the vet bills it is just so sad and in a way I was glad we were able to take her out of there. So to continue the story... We called the store and they told us we had to call their insurance service provider... So being that I started my career as a researcher I did what I do best... So I called the breeder who told me she sold the dog for 750 and was disgusted with the state of the dog and amount the store charged me. I then called the vet who apparently vaccinated and saw the dog at the store... Guess what? He saw the dog the day it arrived and that was all... Nothing was given to the dog... And the store is using his signature and multiple people have called his office. I also still have both health records issued by the store one with a changed birth date and added vaccinations... So then I reached out to the local law enforcement and set a complaint, I also have reported to the human society, called the breeders associate in mo who is now investigating the issue, reached out to vanderpump pets in ca to see if I can get lisa vanderpump to help me, and also am reaching out to the usda who licensed the facility so they can see the botched paperwork. I was told by the breeder associate in mo our best bet is to barrage the usda for pa. I then made a return call to the store, and no one would answer to any of the new information about the vet I provided.. And could not give me the name of any other vets associated with our dog. The insurance provider would only go through the owner (So whats the point of having insurance). Then fast forward a week, and the owner would not refund us anything because we posted a review on social media. Luckily for us, our puppy is now healthy because we had the means to make her that way. This store, the insurance, and the vet are all in a scheme together to make money.

Petland wing trims

This is about an issue I had with Petland in Calgary (Deerfoot Meadows) and wing trims. The Humane Society is investigating and I want this practice to be stopped. Here is my story.

I had an incident with petland 3 weeks ago. I took my 2 cockateils in to have their wings clipped. One of the cockatiels I had adopted from the humane society. The young girl there that normally does the wings was busy with an adoption sooo she advised me a young fellow would be doing their wings. She assured me he knew how. The birds were in the room for close to 30 mins is my guess. I did hear a screech from one of them and I commented to my grandaughter that they must have made one angry. Anyways, when I going them back, my yellow aka Tucker (the one i adopted) had some blood on her wing. I asked the guy and he said he "snipped" her but didn't seem concerned. I noticed that that was also hiding her head under the blanket in the carrier, which she has never done before. Both birds were extremely irritated when I got them home and I left them in a quiet and cozy room. This was on a Saturday. Normally I bring them out in the early evening for bonding time. This time I left them alone. On Monday, I brought them out to watch hockey with me. I had tucker on my shoulder and a big blob of blood hit my shoulder. I then put her on a portable perch with a towel under the perch and she keep bleeding. I then Calgary Calgary North (who are amazing) and brought both birds.. They were able to stop the bleeding but because the Avian vet woldn't be there until the morning, they thought it was best that Tucker stay the night for observation. Harlee (my grey) was able to to stay with her. Tucker spent some time in an incubator for oxygen and warmth.. The following day, they had to "gas" her to allow them to look closer and the wing. The Vet called me and told me it appears a blood feather was cut very very close. The clinic was in touch with Petland who was then aware of the problem ... BUT petland back peddled saying " our staff are trained blah blah blah... and put it on me. There issue was it took 2 days to bleed out... they obviously did something at petland to stop the bleed hoping it would work.. I do have the feather that came off the rest of the way. I found it after I got back from the Vet Clinic.

The young fellow that did the wings (they only did one bird but are saying both were done) told me outright that he was not experienced .

I work with a girl that used to work at Petland .. she also was taught to clip the wings She told me .. that may of the staff, especially the young ones, are not 100% capable of handling the birds properly and tend to stress them out. let alone clipping the wings. I was as well told I couldn't be in the room as it would be too crowded.

This practice at Petland should be stopped. If we were not home, Tucker would have bled to death! she lost alot of blood from the time it started to the time I got her to Calgary North.

PETLAND IS TAKING NO OWNERSHIP... in fact they turned it around and basically blamed me because the bleeding 2 days after.

As a result of this horrible wing clip, my Feather buddy cannot land property .. she stumbles, and also we have been working for weeks trying to tame her.. we had her stepping up and now she just hides behind the cage. Very heartbreaking.

I look forward to hearing back with some advice .. and thank you for reading my rant.

I am extremely mad at pet land practices. I got my gecko from a reptile show thankfully. But when I go to buy worms for him at pet land they are behind register where you can’t look at them she decides what one to get. I said there is a lot dead and black and she said no they are alive. Seeings we live in small town we have no choice but to get worms there unless we drive an hour away to get them in bigger city at another pet store that always sales good healthy worms. I am tired of trying to argue with the girl who apparently manager about not wanting to buy dead ones. I am going to tell all my reptile friends to go somewhere else where u are treated better and not treated like you are dumb

Petland Rude staff

I want to inform you guys about your store in strongsville oh.

Couple of months back me and my wife went there to check some puppies and wanted to see one, when asked about that puppy, we were told that puppy can't come out because he was out a lot of times that day and was tired. We thought yeah thats a genuine reason since puppies are babies and get tired easily.

Same thing happened today dec 18th 2016, we asked for english bulldog puppy and we were told the same as above. Just about a minute later to guys came and asked for the same puppy and they got it.

So let me tell you first we are from india, the guys came were white. I didnt want to mention but your store guys are racists.

I am going to post this in reviews too and we (me and my wife) will never visit petland strongsville oh store.

I know one customer is nothing for such a big store but racism!

This can be verified with two girls who worked there. Not sure what there names are.

Bad store owner – we went to “petland at southpark mall, strongsville, ohio” yesterday thinking we were going to bring home a cute little shih tzu to run around with – but instead we got the run-around. on friday (4-21-17) we were originally told that the price for the dog was $2, 600.00 and then a few minutes later told it was not $2, 600.00 but $2, 500.00. so over the weekend we thought about the dog and the price and were ready to get the dog – hopefully with a nice discount because of the cash payment. but this didn’t happen because on monday, april 24th, they raised the price on us – but not right away. interesting, that the price went up over $1, 000.00 because we were quoted $3, 600.00 as the new price – also interesting that we received the new pricing after we told them our story or maybe the price went up because we said we would pay cash and the owner got greedy.

The original price on friday is $2, 500 but then it goes up on monday to $3, 600 with a $300 discount making it $3, 300.00. really? the price goes up over $1, 000 and we’re supposed to feel good about a supposed $300 discount that will probably be lost to taxes? and more importantly, the price is still way more than the original quote on friday of $2, 500.00.

So we wonder, does the owner watch customers from the store cameras and decide who might be willing to pay an increased price because of emotional attachment to the animal or was the offer of cash payment enough to try for a higher profit margin? anyways, an employee had come to help us yesterday at the strongsville petland and we spoke with him about negotiating a price for purchasing the dog we wanted if we paid cash but he said that only the manager could do that and that the manager was in the back with the dogs and that unfortunately, the manager couldn’t come out to talk to us (or wouldn’t come out because we were there for quite a while and never spoke with the manager). we were told that it was really the owner’s decision to handle discount questions anyways. seriously? no time to see a customer about a sale? we were still waiting for the price quote and assumed that any discount would be off the $2, 500 we were quoted on friday. we shared with the employee our story and a picture of our other dog max to which he replied, “wow, they look exactly alike!...” (comparing max to the new puppy), and he said he would try again to reach the owner about any discount they could give us because we were willing to make a cash payment and take the dog home that night. the employee did contact the owner and came back to us with her offer, to sell us the puppy for $3, 600 and that she would be willing to discount that price a few hundred dollars down to about $3, 299. when I heard the employee give us the owner’s quote I said, “what do you mean $3, 600.00? the dog was $2, 500 on friday and now the price went up $1, 000 in a few days are you kidding me?” I think the employee was perplexed at our response and said that sometimes the prices go up. I mean really? – I don’t think the employee knew what to say to us – and he was caught in the middle – us and the greedy store owner! is it because we said we had cash? or is this owner always ripping people off? what kind of racket is this that supposedly everyone gets a different price depending on what they can get you for?

Still waiting to hear from the owner. very, very, very bad customer service. i’ve read reviews on pet stores and do not necessarily agree that all pet stores should be closed – but if this one cheats the customers — maybe it should be. do you want loving homes for the pets – or do you just want to just play on our emotions and empty our wallets! no one likes to be cheated! shame on the owner... bad owner!

Petland We bought puppy, but he was seriously ill

We bought 10 weeks puppy from Petland of Largo. The seller said that the puppy was from reputable breeders as well as they sold us a lot of food and charged for the microchip. We arrived home and couple of hours later this small poor puppy started to vomit and had awful diarrhea. We brought him to vet, who said that this small puppy had serious parasites and he would need meds and we left the puppy in vet, because he was in awful condition. Don’t buy pups from this awful and illegal company.
