We don't know much about how Pei Wei handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. Pei Wei The food and service

The food at Pei Wei is delicious, however, I received an incorrect order twice by the same cashier. The first mistake I received white rice instead of fried rice and the next time I went, I ordered 3 firecracker chickens and received 3 firecracker shrimp. I waited in line again to inform the guy of the wrong order and he said he heard me say shrimp and went back into the noisy kitchen to tell the cook, she said she heard me say shrimp and she said the other cook heard it also and the other cook wasn't even asked, so how did the cook know what I said. At this point I didn't even care about the wrong order, what bothered me was the way I was treated. They made me feel like I was incompetent and the fact that 2 cooks in the kitchen heard me order was an outrage over all the noise. And if this guy hadn't messed up my order before, which I let go because we all make mistakes, I would have let it go. The guy needs to read back all orders. If they had just been polite instead of going out of their way to prove me wrong, I wouldn't be spending my entire lunch break typing this and spending $51.00 on shrimp I hate seafood, never eat it never order it.

Claimed loss: Lost $51.00, and got the wrong order.

Desired outcome: I would just like for a kind customer service rep to call me and acknowledge the wrong and humiliation I endured in front of the other customers.

Pei Wei Poor food quality and hair in food

Yesterday on 7/20/23 I ordered Mongolian beef , lettuce wraps and kung pao chicken from the pei wei store located at val vista and baseline .1st ill start with the lettuce wraps there were only four edible pieces of lettuce and they were concealing the of yellow and white pieces of Unedible llettuce.

Number two there was a total of 7 peanuts in the kung pow chicken.

Last the Mongolian steak was extremely tough to chew and to make things worst a long stringy hair was found mixed in with the rice and meat causing me to throw up unfortunately your Restraunts don’t seem to have the high standards and quality dishes that you once served I highly suggest that your upper management go around and eat the food they are serving … gross!

Desired outcome: Higher quality food cleaner standards waste a $43

Pei Wei Horrible service and food poisoning

Above is my order number from 12/02/2022. My friend and I both had food poisoning from this day. We shared plates and both had an egg roll. Not sure which plate made us stick but it was the worst experience ever. And we always order from this Pei Wei location.

I wasn’t even mad that I placed my order for pick up at 12:15pm that day and I got there around 12:25pm and I was told they were really behind on orders and it could be 25-30mins. I was offered a drink but refused since I got a Sonic drink right before getting to Pei Wei.

This whole customer service and food quality left a really bad taste in our months. I should have called and asked for a refund but didn’t since I know restaurants are not doing so well now a days.

I hope this email gets to this location so they can step up their game across the board.

Pei Wei Unedible take out

We had our 2nd take out order in a row now that was extremely poor quality food. Order was wrong and the chicken was unedible, it was soaked in cooking oil before put in the bowl, very gross. We are very unhappy with the quality of the food we recieved. Could not even eat the dish with soaked grease chicken.

Pei Wei Prejudice clerk / poor service

June 6, 2022 at 12:05p.m. I visited the store located 11430 Olive Blvd Creve Coeur MO 63141., I placed a walk in order (#35). There was no greeting or Thank You after the clerk took my order, I sat to wait on my order when a woman came it to order. The same clerk smile and said "Hello How can I help You" after she took the order she asked the woman if she would like a cup of water while she waited. Water was NOT offered to me nor was a greeting. I feel like race played a part in this situation, and if so PLEA SE hang your White Only sign in plain view.

I ordered Thai Dynamite with veggie (paid $2.19 extra for rice noddles) when I got to work I realized I given the wrong noddles and two orders of Crab Wontons. The Crab Wontons were burned which I know the cook had to notice before putting in the boxes. Customer Service TRAINING is needed at this location, Please inform your clerks, All money is green and I do believe Pei Wei is in business to make Money.

Desired outcome: When spending my money, I want to be treated with respect and appreciated and YES a REFUND is desired

Pei Wei Bad Service

Before 7pm on 02/09/2022 at 15519 NW 67th Ave, Miami Lakes, FL 33014 PEI WEI restaurant, I had picked up an order. The cashier handed it to me and stated that I had a weird look on my face as I took my food, I stated that I was in a sort of a rush to get home. This statement by the cashier had made me a bit uncomfortable at not knowing what she really meant about that, God knows if it was of bad intent, I feel that if there has been no problems or confrontation by the costumer with the cashier, that personal comments should be kept to them selves. Later after driving away I had to call back the restaurant to find out the cashiers name due to the fact that my uncertainty and remorse had filled me, so I asked her for her name and thanked her, and she told me her name was Sasha. I would be totally grateful if this gets understood.

Pei Wei Asian chopped chicken salad

The menu says ‘Tender, hand- pulled white chicken meat.' This has now been replaced with tasteless white boiled chicken nuggets. I have ordered this salad for years. That the test kitchen would think this is an improvement is beyond me. The chicken tastes and has the texture of rubber pellets.
They need to return to the original recipe.
They have also discontinued the lime vinaigrette. Which was an alternative to the sesame chicken dressing if you wanted.

Desired outcome: Return to hand-pulled white chicken meat.

Pei Wei Asian chopped salad

I'm a rewards member. I have been loyal for 10 years+. Me and my grand kids were at store 259 in Richardson Texas today. I ordered a chopped chicken salad it came without Chicken. I ordered no scallions, food allergy, they put them in. The food was cold and awful. I want my money back? My rewards phone number is [protected]. Pei Wei Extra sauce at a cost

I have been going to Pei Wei for years however approx 2 yrs ago they begin charging for extra sauce and I believe at the time it was $2 a small container. At the same time this occurred I noticed that the plates were coming off the line dry with a minuscule amount of sauce, much less than what was served initially. I use to eat at Pei Wei at least once a wk sometimes twice a wk. I loved the food so much that I also recommended it to all my friends and colleagues. Today made my first time in Pei Wei since approximately 4 mo's ago. I asked the waiter today if they were placing more sauce on the meals which he replied the sauces amounts are adequate. When I arrived home, the meal was so dry it was ridiculous. It's a shame that greed is driving the taste, and appeal of the food down in the gutter. I don't know if sales have been lost over this ridiculous policy but it is a shame that a restaurant that use to be so delicious is now just so so. Clean your act up Pei Wei

Pei Wei service

We went to Pei Wei for lunch on Saturday October 26th. Ordered our meal 3 adults and 1 child's meal. We noticed people around us angry because they hadn't got their meals yet. We got 2 of our meals and waited 15 minutes for the 3rd, had to go to the counter and ask where that meal was. Gave a very poor excuse. After 35 minutes still no child's meal, I went to the manager and told her I wanted a refund for the meal we never got. She was full of excuses I did not need to hear, she was having a domestic problem with her employee's, short a fryer. I told her she's the manager to her job. We were there for about 45 minutes and saw 4 different customers get up and complain about not getting their food. We also went to the rest room before we left could not even use it or change the babies diapers it was so disgusting. Don't you clean your bathrooms the night before? There was 2 inches of filth on the diaper station.

Pei Wei slow delivery/pick up

I ordered a order for pick-up to this location at 6:13 pm on Sunday, Sep 22. I have pictures of the confirmation email (attached) that said the two meals would be ready for pick up at 6:25 pm. (Order #[protected]). When we arrived at the restaurant at 6:25 the waitress Gabby told us it would be 30 minutes before we got our food. We then waited inside with countless others for our order and didn't receive our food until 7:12 pm. I would like some sort of refund and/order gift card to make up for this. Thank you! Pei Wei pei wei

My family and I went to pei wei for dinner and it was terrible. We have been going for years and this last time was very disappointing. I usually order the orange chicken with vegetable and was told by cashier they didnt have it anymore. Then we got our food and it was very disappointing. Portion size was smaller then usual, the rice was cold and it tasted stale. Then we saw the table next to us, and their portion size was huge. Double the amount we had gotten. We noticed a change of shift in the kitchen. We spent a good amount of money and we didnt end up eating our food. We left. We didnt complain or said anything. Just left. We will never go again.

Pei Wei the restaurant as a whole

Today amongst many other days I spent 20 minutes of my lunch break traveling to Pei Wei and waiting at the door while the employees look at me and then other people wondering why their doors are locked. I arrived at 11:10 am and the hours posted are 11:00 am, but the doors were locked. No sign on the door with an explanation just several employees rushing around and trying not to make direct eye contact with us. I finally got a young ladies attention and asked why they weren't open yet she shrugged her shoulders. So I then asked when would they open and she had a conversation with someone in the kitchen for several minutes and then said 11:30. Myself and several other people just walked away.
I visit this location several times/month because of the proximity of my job as well as my home. 90% of the time they are never ready at 11am, which is when they open. There have been times that I'm the first in to order but they are so unorganized with online orders that I have to leave without eating because it's taken so long to get my order. Other times the soda, at 11am, is out of 50% of the flavors, the sauces, plates, napkins etc., haven't been put out for the day. Or the tables and windows are smeared with food as if they weren't wiped down the night before. I can't understand why it's ever in that condition if they are just opening for the day.
With the amount of physician offices, hospitals, banks etc in that area I can't believe the problems there haven't been rectified. I won't be visiting this location anymore, it's too much of a risk to take on a lunch break. You never know what you are going to get if you get anything at all when you are there. Very disappointing for such a reputable chain.

You need to train your front staff cashier to have a better customer service skills. She is very rude and does not even greet customers and not courteous at all.
There was a family who used a food voucher since maybe their flight was delayed or cancelled. She told the customer in a rude way that they better read the voucher for them to understand. There's always a way to communicate in a respectful and courteous manner. She gave the family poor customer service and with negative attitude. If this staff is so unhappy with her job then she needs to look for another job somewhere that does not involve customer service.
Poor customer service. No wonder your Yelp is 2 1/2 STARS on Yelp.

Pei Wei terrible management, inconsiderate

Last time we were at Pei Wei was around a year ago. We have not been there as last time we did find a long hair in our food. Well, we decided to go back for lunch today August 8 after one year to the same location on Glades and 441. I ordered Mongolian shrimp for me, stake fried rice for my son and kid teriyaki steak for my daughter, just the noodles and steak, no veggies. I did ask if both my son and my daughter's meal has the same steak and was told yes. I remembered from the past how the steak looked like. When we got our food, her steak was different looking than my son's, but also not what it used to be. The pieces were bigger and they were breaded. It didn't look right, after she tried a piece, she definitely did not like it and we decided to return it. I simply said that she is not able to eat it and it is not what we ordered. They took it back without offering any apologizes let alone offering to get her something else. Long story short, I gave her my Mongolian shrimp fried rice and we shared the meal. The workers, kept starring at us, talking, looking, coming by to clean tables around us but not once did any one come asking if perhaps we needed a kid meal. I even thing the manager was walking around the restaurant, not sure if it was him and looking at us but said nothing. Really? How much does it cost you to replace a $6 meal? I am not one to complain, but this was beyond any decent customer service. Nobody cared and that did not go well with me. I payed for that meal but left hungry as I gave my daughter most of my food.

Pei Wei reward points

On Sunday, June 21, 2019, I went to the Mason Rd location with my family. Before making a purchase, I had over 700 points. When ordering our food, the cashier asked if I wanted to redeem my points for a small plate. We declined to do so. However, I came to find out later that she redeemed my points anyways. And I did not receive my points for that lunch's purchase (over $30). I didn't notice my points had gone missing until I left the store and had a notification on my phone from the app. Upon opening the app, my points went down to 69 remaining. I called the store and spoke to the manager. Peggy was unable to fix things on her end for my account. I emailed a complaint and have yet still to hear back. My points have not been corrected and I am understandably upset with this. If my account is not fixed, that will be the last time I go to any Pei Wei.

Pei Wei management/employee behavior and conduct

I arrived at Pei Wei with my daughter to have a quick bite to eat like we always do every Wednesday. When I walked in I noticed one of the employees(a girl with short brown hair) on her phone while I waited to be assisted. She continued to talk to others while someone else had to take my order. I then notice who I assume to be the manager(a lady with blonde hair) ignoring the chaos that was going on as the restaurant was very busy. The food was a bit cold, almost as if it had been sitting out, I do not plan on returning until there is new management put in place and a better attitude in the store.

Pei Wei bartender poor service

I was sitting at the PeiWei bar before my flight and the bartender Sharon was just awful. I sat with an empty glass for atleast 10 minutes. She kept passing me by not once asking if I'd like a refill. Than I looked down for a second and she cane by and took my empty glass! Still never asking if I'd like a refill. I am a Senior Training Manager for a Miller's Ale House and I haven't experienced service this awful in a long time. After now20 minutes of being ignored, I flagged her down with my credit card and checked out. My plane is delayed 3 hrs, I would've liked to have another beer.

Extremely disappointed, I'm in and out of Tampa Airport for work and will never sit at Pei Wei again.
