Park Nicollet Health Services Dr Ellegard Carlson Parkway

I had a video visit in Nov where my meds were refilled. I have been on Lisinoprol for 19 years. I tried to fill my script 2 days ago and it was denied. Nurse said she would not refill until I see Dr. her next appt is a week from today. I am now 48 hours without necessary medication and will be off 9 days before I can get it. This is necessary medication. Dr thinks stopping cold turkey is ok?

Desired outcome: My meds so I don’t have a stroke

Park Nicollet Health Services Physician

My physician is unapproachable and her bed side manner is lacking. She wants to harp on people about their weight and yet does not work with them on any health related goals. She passes judgment quickly and frankly doesn't listen. I have sought my own solutions and others to help in my health goals. She remains my primary physician as I had hopes that I just needed to give her time that I caught her on an "off" day! No! She is flat out horrible. Recently I reached out to her as I had COVID, asking for help. She sent me an email stating I didn't qualify for any help and that I just needed to ride it out. OK, so when I go to your competitor across the street and see them I was informed I had pneumonia. They even questioned the care my provider gave me. We pulled up the MDH flow sheet and I did qualify for varying protocols and assistance but by then it was too late. I was referred to the University of Minnesota as well for a COVID follow-up. She DOESN'T listen! She seriously passes judgment and is so RUDE! I would not want this person representing my organization. So many who helped on my case asked me why she didn't help?!? I'm rendered speechless and I was also told that if medication would have been provided I wouldn't have gotten as sick as I did. Not to mention she can't refill prescriptions in a timely manner. Today, I needed a refill so I called the office spoke to the nurse and told the nurse that last time she didn't authorize the fill until 2 WEEKS after the ask and by then I had to do an "Emergency" fill and had to be seen in an urgent care to acquire my medication. So again... tonight, I am having to do an urgent virtual visit and pay to be seen to get a prescription refilled. Honestly, this woman should not even be allowed to work on animals let alone humans. She is a JOKE! I seriously would not recommend your clinic to any of my loved ones because you employee people like her. She is on an ego and power trip. She literally told me that I was just FAT and that she too has a thyroid condition and she's not FAT. OK, well I sought my own care and endocrinologist and after working with someone who would LISTEN I'm down 40lb yet when you talk to her all of my issues are because I'm FAT. Ok, thanks!

Desired outcome: Someone to follow up with me on this physician

Park Nicollet Health Services No one answering the phone in a reasonable time period!!!!

I am suppose to set-up a MY CHART account so that I can assist care with my elderly mother. Everytime I call over there [protected]) I sit on hold for 25-35 minutes and then hang up in frustration!

I've called there 3X in the last 3 days!

Hire some F*****ing people to answer your phones!
Those people make $12-14/hr. Take a couple million out of the CEO pay!
For that kind of money, you could hire over a hundred more customer service
phones answered!
Don't you people know what the hell is going on with your company!
Have them call me for a change as I've waited on hold almost 2 hrs.
[protected]

Desired outcome: Set up a MY CHART account so I can help my mother get the care she deserves!

Park Nicollet Health Services Inappropriate application of payment

Guarantor #[protected] (Park Nicollet)
Account #4338140 (Health Partners)

On 1/3/21 I made 3 payments in the "Pay Your Bill" portal. I paid two $30 co pays and one $50 co pay. I specifically selected the services I wanted the payments to be applied towards (apparently 2 park nicollet and 1 health partners). Turns out, Park Nicollet applied the payments towards the wrong services and even applied a payment that was supposed to go towards a Health Partners copay towards the Park Nicollet bill.

I do not understand how the pay your bill system can misapply payments, this seems like a complete breakdown of controls. My Health Parnters copay almost went into collections because of the above. As of today Park Nicollet still does not have the payments applied correctly and I have called multiple times to get it resolved. This is not hard. Either separate the Pay your bill portal between Health Partners and Park Nicollet or make the systems actually talk to each other.

Desired outcome: Park Nicollet to reimburse me $30 that was misapplied

Park Nicollet Health Services Appointment in St. louis Park

I had a cyst on my lower extemities which was going to be removed on the advice of my primary doctor in Shakopee. I was in the Doctors office in St. Louis Park and he talked me out of it. The cyst was much smaller than it was in my appointment to have it removed. Did he talk to my primary Doctor? No.
I went to have it removed. I wanted it removed or I would never have come in to Park Nicollet. I am Livid that I have to pay for this twice. I believe it was in the Month of November or December. What was the doctor's charge.

Cyst removal in November or December 2020 on Primary doctors recomendation from Park nicollet shakopee. I wanted it removed but he talked me out of it. It was a lot bigger than when my Primary doctor recommended I have it removed. I was livid 40 minutes later because I made the appointment, drove from Minneapolis and now have to pay for it twice.

Park Nicollet Health Services I was called and told by the doctor to go immediately to the ER. The ER told told me this false

I was called and told by the doctor that saw me earlier in the day to go immediately to the ER. After being at the ER for several hours, I was told I should not have been sent there and really needed a $13.10 prescription with a follow up visit

Saw Dr Wanner @ Park Nicollet on 8/31 - had X-ray - from findings Dr wanted me to get CT scan on9/1
Later on 9/1 I was called by nurse at direction of Dr Wanner that I needed to go to the ER immediately as they believe I have diverticulitis and an abscess. I was told I would need strong antibiotics administered by an IV and then I may/may not need surgery.
I am not a sickly person, if a doctor tells me to go to the ER, I go. I asked the nurse if I could go to Fairview Ridges Burnsville and she said she would recommend goofing somewhere else - she said Regions and that I could go there. Therefore I went to Regions St Paul

After being at the ER for many hours, a student surgeon came in and said she needed to confer with a team of surgeons. A different surgeon came in and stated that someone from the pharmacy would be bringing over $13.10 worth of prescriptions and that the abscess that was found was not large enough on the standard to need surgery and that I definitely would not need a IV.

I was financially raped when, by medical standards I should by advised to go down the street for $13.10 worth of pharmaceuticals and schedule a follow up appointment.

I should have never been advised to go to Regions ER, or any ER, to begin with. Park Nicollet should be responsible for my ER bill aside from the $13.10 prescription which I have already paid

Park Nicollet Health Services dr. butcher

I recently saw Dr. Butcher for a consultation to see if he could help me with a circumcision that had gone wrong from another doctor. He said no the damage was much too severe, can't be fixed. Then I got a bill for $474. I find that to be completely outrageous for a brief consultation. When I try to have this resolved from the clinic I got absolutely nowhere. Not even how the pricing was broken down. I need to figure out why I'm being charged so much. if I can't get this resolved in a timely manner will have to contact an attorney.

Park Nicollet Health Services no follow up letter or instructions regarding appointment or lab tests.

Visited a Neurology Doctor regarding involuntary muscle spasms and twitches that have been ongoing for a couple years at the direction of my general physician. The Doctor that saw me was a new Doctor and upon completion of the visit provided no direction or instructions. Lab tests were taken and again no direction or follow up regarding the outcome of the tests. I called the nurse line at Park Nicollet Clinic, Neurology Department and was never given a call back, letter, email or anything regarding my visit or concerns. I spent between $500 and $1, 000 with tests for absolutely nothing. It is really disheartening that the staff at this office has not done a very good job at training their new staff how to follow up with their patients upon completion of a visit and tests. Instead they made a follow up appointment for me 6 months later without my asking for one. Why would I want to return to a Doctor that is not competent or properly trained?

In the last few months I have had several test at Park Nicollet. The Doctors have not called me back and I have had to call to find out what the info on "My Chart" means. My family has a high rate of Cancer and I would think the clinic would respect that I'm worried and give me a quick call to say everythings fine, because waiting for a letter to go through the mail just causes anxiety.

Now its Tuesday night and I'm waiting again from a Sunday injury to be fully diagnosed.

Park Nicollet Health Services charges for prescription

I had to go to Urgent Care at Park Nicollet in Chanhassen on 07/15/19 and received 2 prescriptions. I asked to have them filled there due to my excruciating pain. I don't have insurance and have used the GoodRx coupons in the past. I asked the pharmacist if she could look that up to save me money and her response was, "Well, these are cheap." And then she asked if I had the coupon on my phone, which I didn't because Walgreens pharmacy is the one that told me about the coupons and they pull them up for me. With my pain and frustration I said forget it. I came home and pulled up the coupons and I could have saved $21.10, which is a lot when I am a single mother that had to leave my house with nothing when I filed for divorce from my narcissist sociopath ex-husband for safety reasons. Which now I have to try and deal with C-PTSD and the stupidity of the pharmacist telling me "they are cheap" was just another "trigger". She should be responsible for reimbursing me the difference. She should also learn some etiquette. It was the older woman with short hair and overweight.

Park Nicollet Health Services prescription practices at park nicollet bloomington, mn.

Put in a refill request for an anti-depressant. I was out and it was Friday.
They say you should never stop these abruptly.
Waited 5 days, pharmacy stated doctor has not called over and over.
Called doctor's office, recording says if this call is about prescriptions, call
your pharmacy.
Called pharmacy, they said again Doctor hasn't called yet.
Got emergency refill for 3 pills thank God. Brain is crackling.
Got through to doctor's office finally, they said that they won't refill it until
I schedule an appointment.
So they held up my prescription so I would make an appointment.
THey didn't tell the pharmacy that, and the recording says don't bother the doctor
for prescription refill requests, call the pharmacy.
So the doctor refused to refill my antidepressant until I made an appointment
but how was I supposed to know that.
Why didn't the doctor's office simply CALL ME and let me know rather than
withholding very important medication.
They are so so careful when you change antidepressants to titrate you up and down
at just the right level so you don't feel poorly.
But they will cut you off completely until you call and make an appointment.
This has made me so angry, and in my state i've been going off on people all day.
I finally did get through and made my appointment.
They told me on the phone that they would call me when my prescription was ready.
THEY DIDN"T CALL AND DIDN'T REFILL IT.
I wasn't rude on the phone, didn't swear, but they are punishing me by not refilling
it because I must have offended them when I called. So I have to wait another day.
I will switch doctors. I know they could care less and it wouldn't affect them one
way or another.
Reminds me that when I went in for a physical, she didn't even
listen to my heart. She has never listened to it. Then I had a heart attack, not related
to listening to it or not, just that she wasn't very thorough in my opinion.
She is a competent and good doctor but little things like this prescription fiasco
are unprofessional and ridiculous.

Park Nicollet Health Services mental health department

To whom this may concern,
I would like to express my deepest disappointment with Park Nicollet's mental health department. It took me years to build the courage to accept I needed behavioral help and it seemed like the responsible thing to do for the safety of my overall well being, I had a previous appointment with them when I was a child but I was unable to attend any further appointments because unfortunately, my mother dealt with a lot of her own mental health problems to notice I needed help myself. Park Nicollet mental health department put a block on my chart even though I had explained the situation to two employees, they insisted I needed to write an appeal explaining why I didn't attend my appointment as a child even though I was seeking help as an adult. Afterward, they said they would have to approve my appeal and they would send me a letter in the mail after a week. A week went by and I didn't receive anything, so I called to follow up and they told me that I no longer have a block on my chart, that made me very happy because after more time than necessary went by to schedule an appointment. Unfortunately, that happiness lasted two minutes because of the way their scheduling system works, they didn't have anything for the week which I wasn't looking for considering this was a Thursday, I would have been okay with anything in the next few weeks but to schedule an appointment you to have to call on Mondays. This made me frustrated because that's all I have been doing calling back and forth just to get a block off my chart and now I have to call every Monday to see if there's anything available that doesn't sound like Park Nicollet is using their head and heart slogan to be compassionate to their patients. Attempting to make this appointment has been one of my biggest steps this year and I'm beyond disappointed at how grossly incompetent Park Nicollet's mental health department has shown me to be.
Thank you,
Stephanie Garcia- Garay

Park Nicollet Health Services customer service

Hello,

I am a patient that was seen last week (11/29/2018) for being sick. I had called back Friday to have a doctors note sent to me through mychart. After the first call I did not receive the note in my inbox on mychart. I then had to call three or four other times. I checked Saturday to see if it had shown up yet in which it did not. I called Saturday and the nurse I spoke with told me that there is nothing she could do about it and I would have to call back Monday. It is now Monday and I have called so many times waiting on hold for twenty or thirty minutes a time. The gentleman I spoke with swore that the letter was in my Mychart. I checked and it is still not there. I am not calling for what feels like my 100th time calling to get something as simple as a doctors note. I need this note not only for school but for work as well and it is critical I get it to those people. I am beyond frustrated with the lack of help from the staff I have spoken with. It seems as though no one knows what they are doing or how to do simple tasks such as getting a written letter to a patient that has requested it multiple times.

Park Nicollet Health Services Obgyn Dr. Addy

I complied with her 100%. I sustained from sex for about a month, took 2 pregnancy tests, took provera, and called after I had my "period" and she was supposed to order me birth control.
I called and she blatantly refuses to order me any. I see this very disrespectful and unethical due to the fact that it is time biologically and life-wise for me to have this birth control now.
I am going to undergo a gastric bypass surgery and I just want to be certain there is absolutely no way I can be preg when I do so. Otherwise I will just go ahead and do the surgery I will forget the birth control all together. If I have to ARGUE about it. LHM
Can I please have a different Dr. order me my birth control and not see her anymore and I would appreciate to have her reprimanded.
I do not think she should be stalling or saying I did not comply when I certainly did and/or have the choice as to whether I should be able to get pregnant or not and when I can have sex. IT HAS BEEN A MONTH! Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee get me some birth control!

Sincerely,

Roxana Maicas [protected]

Park Nicollet Health Services telling patients what they can afford

Received a prescription for my son for strep throat. He threw it up twice so I called for another prescription. The second one they gave was too expensive so I requested a different one. (I do not have insurance at this time) The nurse, Sylvia, called back and said that it's something I should be able to afford because this is what the doctor wants him to have. At what point does this nurse decided what I can afford? Very rude and unprofessional. A healthcare worker should never say something like this to a patient.

I agree that Maple Grove Park Nicollet urgent care is very unprofessional.I asked for help at the front desk the first time visiting the North Memorial in Maple Grove because a friend was bleeding from her head and instead of assisting us or directing us to emergency she had us wait in line and then answered a phone call before assisting us. My friend received 10 staples in her head to close up the wound.

Park Nicollet Health Services Prescription Refill SCAM

Park Nicollet Clinic has a nice little SCAM going on regarding prescription refills. I have a long standing maintenance prescription that I've used for years and which doesn't change. Recently, when I tried to get it refilled, I was informed by Park Nicollet staff that I couldn't get it refilled without seeing the doctor since it had been more than a year. I made an appointment, spent 5 minutes with the doctor, got the same prescription AND A BILL FOR $144. This is just another example of WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM and why it needs to be fixed!

I, too, have had a maintenance prescription for 7 years; and recently, after losing my job and insurance, I could not pay the $130 for a 1-month supply of tablets. A month prior to my tablets running out (I still had 3 refills), I applied for two different pharmacy cards from two different drug companies to avoid a lapse in taking the drug, which is known for horrible withdrawal symptoms. Armed with two prescription cards, I am told by the pharmacy that "the cards only cover brand name and your prescription is generic." After a week of daily calls to doctor's office and my pharmacy with daily misinformation as to weather or not the doctor or the pharmacist can change the prescription from generic to brand name, today I learn from a different pharmacy that a 1-month supply of capsules is only $18! So let me get this straight: Tablets = $130. Capsules = $18. Same drug. Why doesn't my doctor know this? Why doesn't my pharmacist know this? I spent a week chasing medication and losing my mind from side effects!

Most pharmacies won't fill a prescription after a year without a new prescription. That's why there is a specific number of refills on the bottle.

Park Nicollet Health Services poor service

From my experience, most of the Dr's at Park Nicollet Urgent Care and Family Practice always seem to be in a hurry and do not spend a lot of time examining their patients. They are hesitant to do more than their rushed exam can provide and spend no more than a few minutes with the patient. I am very dissatisfied with their quality of service and would not recommend them to anyone who wants to feel like their visit matters.

Since Health Partners took over Park Nicollet, they have been run into the ground. After navigating through an endless series of "press one for this department" re-directs when you call, you end up holding for 15-20 minutes before you finally get a human being on the phone. Then I find I find out that I have to wait 4 months to see my primary care physician or 2 months for a phone or video visit with her. I have had to wait a year to see a psychiatrist since my other Dr. retired. That NEVER happened prior to Health Partner's mismanagement. I know why they want you to do a video visit. They can cram you through faster. The appointment scheduler almost admitted it. Hands-on visits take longer. So what is missed when a Dr. doesn't do a physical exam? A breast lump? One hand that doesn't squeeze as strongly as another? Unsteady on your feet? All symptoms of serious diseases that no phone or video can pinpoint.

I have had three surgeries in the last 3 years and wanted to visit in-person for a pre-op with my primary care Dr. to talk about some concerns I had as well as doing the pre-op at the same time. Despite calling several months in advance, I never got an appointment, video or otherwise. I had to settle for doctors, the latest one whom I HATED!

After nearly 30 years with Park Nicollet, I'm seriously looking for another healthcare provider.

Couldn't agree more. Their mental health department is woefully understaffed, prescribes medications with contra-indications and then cannot be troubled to spend any time talking with the patient to see how the medication is working. We made numerous calls to the St. Louis Park office regarding our daughter who was prescribed a medication known for increasing suicidal thoughts in adolescents. It took 5 hours to get a call back and we never were able to talk to the doctor. The nurse told us it would pass. Two days later we ended up having to have her committed to an inpatient facility for a week because they were afraid she would [censored]. Now she has 2 - 4 weeks of outpatient treatment which will delay her returning to school. This could have been avoided had the doctor taken the time to talk to us or our daughter, her patient. Instead we have racked up tens of thousands of dollars of medical bills. We have to bear the financial burden of their negligence and our daughter has numerous set backs to face in the weeks, months and years ahead. I hope no other child has to suffer because of their lack of concern.
