OneTravel hidden cancellation fees (although I purchased travel insurance, which says: cancellation covered)

Do not buy through onetravel if you know you might need to cancel your ticket. You'll endup paying double in their hidden fees (Besides the $200 penalty fees).

Travel insurance does not cover ticket cancellation, unless someone is dead in your family, you have an emergency situation (So these stipulations are hidden). I've always purchased travel insurance as they will refund me the fee, should i have to cancel my ticket for any reasons. Now, they changed this machiavelli'kly, and this is an issue. I spent over a thousand, and through cancelling i would have end up spending 60-70% more. No way. I chose different route.

Here are the details.

Onetravel are so unprofessional, and all they are looking for is to hide as much information as possible, yet, overcharge - which dont' make any sense. They are senseless, and without heart.

I barely understand people who i talked to. They talk so fast, i couldn't understand what they say. I asked them to slow speak, with no availability. They hung up the phone on me, after i told them that i'll put the air new zealand on the phone. 3 times they did it. They said that air new zealand charges some fees, but air newzealand declined, and wanted to get on the phone with onetravel. One travel agency employees refused to stay on the phone (We don't conference in with airline companies, they said). Lies, lies, lies.

I purchased cancellation insurance ($80 or so), not being sured of my timeline exactly - you buy a cancellation insurance to ensure you get all your investment back, should you change your mind for any reasons. They said that i can't do that unless in case of a death, medical urgency, etc. That is ridiculous. They lied when buying the insurance that there is a 100% cancellation fee. Machiavelli practice to get our money, but not commit to the objective of the service. So when i go to cancel my flight because i was about to lose my job, they mentioned that i would only get a refund if it was within 24 hours. Otherwise it would have to be an emergency in order to cancel, although they hide it away, not even providing a link next to it to look further into the rules about getting this. All it says is: coverage includes: trip cancellation, trip interruption, trip delay, baggage delay.

They forced me to use air newzealand (So they wouldn't allow me ue another airline company). I did it - and i wanted to shop another ticket after 2 months from initial cancellation (For which they gave me a credit of $1, 178.16). I couldn't use this credit, because they wanted to charge me additional $600-$700. I refused to give them that money, and i purchased the ticket directly from air newzealand for $1, 001. What a shame on onetravel.

Air newzealand told me that there is no way they would charge $1, 800 for a ticket from phoenix, az to sydney, australia for my dates and under my booking/cancelling condition with onetravel. They mentioned that onetravel has their own practices, and i should reach out to them to get the credit back. That money - 1178 is now in onetravel's hands, and they will not want to refund it to me, at all.

They decided to tell me that my new ticket is 1800 ($200 charged by the airlines to make the change - air newzealand declined this option), and i had to add $600 from my pocket, on top of the 1178. Come on guys, this is really a rippedoff practice. These indians are sneaky and want to walk all over their customers in order to get money. Never again will i book with these people and i will recommend that none of my friends do either.

I spent 8-10 hours on the phone, by calling onetravel, onetravel insurance in the us (Seven corners), and air newzealand. Onetravel hung up the phone so many times, but i insisted to get them commit to their service. They didn't. I ended up leaving the credit on my onetravel profile, and using my own money with air newzealand.

Do not buy through onetravel if you know you might need to cancel your ticket. You'll endup paying double in their hidden fees (Besides the $200 penalty fees).

I am only talking the truth, and God knows that. My intention with this initiative is to divert other potential customers from going through what I went through. There is no ethic in this business entity, OneTravel.com - shame on them for running such practice.

OneTravel bad service

I wanted to buy a ticket and was redirected to OneTravel website. Few weeks later I broke my leg and contacted OneTravel to cancel my reservation. I spent over $500 and they offered me only $100! Then I asked for a manager and they've put me on hold for about 30 minutes. I gave up and called again. The customer service rep was very rude and completely unprofessional. Don't use this website, they will never help you! I tried many times and asked for a full refund, but noting worked. I'm so disappointed.

OneTravel beware of being cheated!

I booked a flight via OneTravel. And I spent about two hours on the phone trying to cancel it. Before that, I called several times but their line was always busy. When I finally reached someone I was told that cancellation fee will be charged. I asked how much it would cost and the rep told that cancelation fee is $50. The last time I called he said $70. When the flight was finally cancelled, I found out that not only I was charged $100 for cancellation fee but I also did not get a full refund! I feel like I was being cheated from the very beginning. Besides, the agent promised that I will get a full refund, but I never received my money back. Don’t deal with OneTravel and better book somewhere else.

OneTravel cancellation of booking

On the 5, July 2015, I made and paid for Muticity flights booking via Kayak website, my bookings are as follow, 30 July 2015 mbj 12:55pm--Fll arriving 3:55pm. Aug 7 9:20pmFll---YYZ 1:19pm. Aug12, 10:15amYY Z--Mbj1:19pm and a total of US$1333.16.when i was ready to make payment, the website promted me to pay in two parts, July 30 and Aug 7 itinery were collected in one part us $745.10 and Aug 12 itinery collected in the other part us $588.08.
On July 6 I called [protected] the agent who answered I distinctly told my booking number [protected] and requested the itinery for Aug 12, yyz-mbj be changed instead to YYZ to FLL and returning from Fll to Mbj on the 14 aug. Iwas asked to pay us$150to make such changes, which i did . This agent failed to inform me that my Aug. 12 booking YYz to Mbj was not on the booking number itinary I gave her. Instead she cancelled my entire itinery, i did not have a discussion with her to cancell my itinery, in fact i distincly told her my flight from Mbj on the 30thJuly and my aug 7th i do not desire to change. Iwas not aware of the cancellation until i went to the MBJ airport to get my tickets print. Now my itinery from my homeland Jamaica has been messed up and cancelled by her and my Aug.12 itinery still not change as i now get to understand that section is operated by West Jet airlines and was not collected by one travel. West jet confirmation SHGBSE.i am hereby asking onetravel personel who as abused my ignorance of not knowing that she did not have my complete multicity itinery and have cancelled my entire itinery while i taught she was granting me my request to change the Aug. 12, section of my itinery to please re-instate my former itinery dates and flight time as it was on the itinery she cancelled, and have my $150 Ipaid to change an itinery she did not have reversed to my card. I am prepared to take further actions if this situation is not addressed immediately bearing in mind that if i was a last minute person i would end up at the airport with a cancelled reservation.

OneTravel most agents sound indian

ONETRAVEL.COM I checked for flight ticket prices to India. They show one of the lowest prices online, but they are crooked. I attempted more than five times to type in all my information and credit card information, only to return sold out. How can tickets from different routes be sold out instantly in a matter of 2 minutes? Their online prices are a scam. I wasted a lot of time trying to book online. When I call their toll free number the prices are always $300-400 higher than the prices they have online. Most agents sound Indian. The company is a desi crooks company, dont waste your time with them.

OneTravel just awful if you need to contact by phone

Just awful if you need to contact by phone. Wait over an hour. Every few seconds a dumb announcement 'please have your booking number ready so we can assist us faster' 'you can find answers to FAQ on our web site' 'thank you for continuing to hold, a cust svc rep will be with you shortly' 'please read our terms and conditions while waiting' 'our customer svc specialists are currently assisting other travelers. please continue to hold' Some messages also in Spanish. Why you need multiple languages at this point?

OneTravel choosing flights for me totally different from the dates I actually asked fo

Worst site Ever. They do have cheap fares which I got lured in. What I didnt expect was it choosing flights for me totally different from the dates I Actually asked for.

I booked on a weekend and didnt get to check booking confirmation back when at work where I sued my work email. turns out it was 3 days different from my specified departure and arrival dates specified! Flight to vegas was $232 for 2 .. To rebook, it cost me ANOTHER $236 additional. DOUBLE! What a rip off. They got their pound of flesh but I will NEVER EVER use them again. and I'll make sure No one else I know uses them. Should have stuck with Expeedia or ORbitz. I never had this problem with them before. Im sure Ontravel would'nt stick around for long. With dissatisfied NEW customers all the time like me preaching how HORRIBLE they are.

OneTravel avoid dealing with this ppl

I bought a ticket from this company everything was ok until i needed to update my information, What happen is i purchase my ticket in my married name instead of maiden name which is in my passport. The thing is I have my greencard in my married name and without that i can't re-enter the USA, i knew i needed to travel with my passport too but i taught my greencard was the main one. Anyways i was contacted by AA airline about the mistake, they told me to contact onetravel.com to make the changes which i did, this company gave me the run around for hrs then after told me that they will send in a request to get my name change. my flight is thurs today is monday nothing! So i contact them again, then they told me they will re-submit request to get my name change. how hard is it to change a last name?

OneTravel scam!

I am an on-line travel agent. I carefully select departure and destination cities; day, date and times of desired flights. I am looking for the most affordable flights. I booked a round trip flight for 3 from Indianapolis IND to Oranjestad Aruba. Total should have been about US $1373.00. When I printed off the confirmation was I surprised to learn the flight was over US $4, 00.00! I stayed calm and carried on- notified my credit card company- was told I needed to notify OneTravel.com first. I was on hold at least 40 minutes; went to work; finally on lunch hour I was able to cancel the flight ONLY because- I put all three tickets on a credit card that I carry a lowcredit limit on. I think I would have had tremndous trouble cancelling the air resrervations, had the charges gone through. Warning- the cancellation notification informed me it would take up to 12 WEEKS for the credit to appear on my credit card- had the charges gone through! Not only was the cost over 2 times as high- as the quoted price -I did not get the connections I had booked- one overnight in Philadelphia each way which would have reduced our Aruba time tremendously! I have always departed the US and arrived in Aruba on the same day! I had never heard of OneTravel.com so thought I would try it- never again!

Well I have to say I have used onetravel 4 times without a problem. I accidently entered the incorrect dates (in fact an entire 4 weeks wrong) I notified customer service and they corrected the error without an issue.

OneTravel misleading contracts

Beware of onetravel when you see taxes/fees on their contract with a corresponding dollar reduction in coupon discount, hotel discount plus your credit card charge. It looks like you are getting a good deal. However onetravel's taxes/fees are not the hotels taxes/fees and you will be charged by the hotel when you get to your destination (Even though your contract will say otherwise). This is a scam to get you to book with onetravel so that they can get your credit card fee up front.

OneTravel don't deal with them

This is my 1st & last time dealing with one travel/cheapo air.

To long bad experience to be typed here. horrible joke (experrience).

Phon hold time, limited clear english of operators (heavy dialect), confusing emails about a refund I requested, which I didn't, reaching management or complaint department, etc. never again. will I eal with poor quality like this.

Afraid that my reservations won't be honored when I get to the airport.

Try reaching a complaint dept. at the company. i'll pay more in the future and book direct with the airline. the small savings with them not worth it.

My wife & I have been trying to change our flight to hawaii next August as when she booked trough one travel they had an already pre planned connection flight. One of our friends have informed us our melb flight only has a one hr layover time. Now this would not be enough time to get from off our melb domestic flight to get to the international terminal & through customs with our disabled son. We have been trying to negotiate with one travel but they are being very unreasonable. They are even going against their own terms & conditions about being 3 hrs early for international flights. We are not willing to pay any extra as this is their mistake. Can you help us please ?

3 tickets, When arrived at destination my brother got sick parents need to stay to take date of him . I return do to work, they end up charging more on credit card, I purchase the insurance they offer, and they told me was denied.

OneTravel they r burglars!

They changed my travel date without my authorization! When I got the email, I realized it (just a few minutes later) and called them. They told me that I had chosen the wrong date which is impossible to make tuesday third week of the month rather than saturday first week! And just for couple minutes they charged $30 to cancel it!

I had the same thing happen to me. We had a death in the family and had to fly to DFW. I made reservations with them on Wed June 22, 2011 for a departure on Fri June 24, 2011 and return on the following Sun June 26, 2011. I went over this with the girl several times to verify NO MISTAKES. I explained we were going to a funeral and everything. I found out Sat evening that my flight was booked for a return on Tues July 26, 2011. Why would I stay at a funeral for 1 mth? Got no help from anyone except Air Tran, which offered to take off the $75 per person charge. My credit card co is going after them and I've reported them to the Las Vegas Better Business Bureau. They have to respond to my claim now. I also sent a Certified Letter to the Pres. of the Co. I told them that if they did not refund me I would seek legal action and get with others that went through the same experience. If I have to go that route, would you be willing to vouch as one that was scammed too? In consumer complaints there are 37 pages of complaints.

OneTravel stay away from these crooks

I tried to book a ticket from them, but I never received any confirmation on the booking. I have tried to get in contact with them several times the last two days on phone and e-mail, but it seems impossible to get a hold of them. Now I'm just really frustrated and don't know if I got a ticket or not. I just want to get a ticket from another company, but I can't afford to have onetravel on my back demanding money from a booking I never received any confirmation on. Do I have any legal rights here?

OneTravel changed time a flight after booking on march 17 2011 at 21:37pm

On march 17 2011 at 21:37 a ticket # 6848461 was purchased from RSW to JFK round trip on Jetblue airline through www.onetravel.com. After booking was completed it was discovered that the times for the return flight on September 19 2011 JFK-RSW at 6:55am did not coincide with the one previously ordered on the same day at 7:50pm. Once realized this, I called the company ond spoke with representative Osmond and he corrected the error for a cost of $77.00. The error was in the website program, not in the purchase. Because my connecting flight will be landing at 2:15pm on September 2011 and I can't use time 6:55am. I sent a letter to onetrevel.com for refund my extra expense.

OneTravel beware of business practices!

They have great rates... But the small print will take all your money! On 3-3-2017, I was a victim of an internet scam that resulted in canceling an international flight. Airlines would not permit me to cancel flights, which must be through travelone. Upon emailing my request, travelone charged me a cancellation fee of $50 and a $250 ticket change fee with a resulting credit of $611 for future use w/I one year. Called today (3-22-11) to use this credit and was informed that credit remains only for foreign carrier travel and cannot be used domestically... When asked to speak with supervisor or jana jackson, who emailed me that I have a credit, I was connected to mailbox 9898 where I left a message and was disconnected. I had purchased trip cancellation insurance from the same folks for additional fees, which does not pay in the event of fraud... Just health or airline connection problems... Another small print rip-off...

Jana Jackson called me back in the afternoon and offered to refund their cancellation charges and the travel insurance...but Lufthansa holds my credit and will not refund. She was very nice and sincere...and called as a response to my email... Losing money always hurts...live and learn

I contacted OneTravel to inquire about the fees I would be charged to cancel my airline tickets. We had booked through OneTravel, and their phone number was listed for customer service. Oh My God what a mistake. If I ran any type of travel company I would never allow OneTravel to deal with a customer of mine. The rep. that answered the phone talked so fast, and had such a heavy accent I could not understand her at all. After she sent an email request to cancel the tickets, and I read through it, I told her not to cancel the tickets. Again more fast talking and broken english I ask her to just send me something indicating that my tickets had not been cancelled, not understanding her, I asked again and again. Then this very nasty, rude woman told me I did not have to ask her the same thing five times, Well, in my own defence, yes I did, I could not under her. So, I asked to speak with her supervisor. Again, very bad english and more poor service. I just ask that they send me an email with confirmation of my airline ticket to confirm that they had not cancelled them as I can not pay the fees imposed by the airline. The fees are no fault of OneTravel, this was just the worst service I have ever encountered EVER. No need to respond, there is NO excuse for this very poor service...

OneTravel horrible customer service

Tried to get a multi-destination flight for Lima-La Paz-Santiago-Lima. Initially no problem, price looked good & low!. Finally ordered the tickets & the price almost doubled with the "taxes". Okay, still just a little less than Expedia or Orbitz, which were both having difficulty making the itinerary. All is fine. Paid for the tickets & received a confirmation.

Make non-refundable hotel reservations in La Paz and Santiago. Had specifically picked a flight with a long layover (in Buenos Aires) so we could do a mini-city tour of several hours then return to the airport.

Next day I receive an e-mail saying there were "problems".

Bottom line, after 1 hour 40 minutes on the phone: First, I got disconnected after about 10 minutes. Then on the 2nd call I waited 7 for the first person. Explained everything. Then on hold for 10 minutes then another person. Explain everything again, along with telephone numbers, etc to prove who I am. On hold 5 - 6 minutesd & same cycle. This final guy (Indian - I had difficulty communicating with him, though he said he was in Las Vegas). kept me on hold for about 40 minutes.

Finally - he had a new itinerary. But it'd cost several hundred dollars more. Instead of arriving LPB at 2PM it was now 1AM. No more stopover in Buenos Aires, now an 8 hour stopover in Lima (our point of origin!). I finally just said no, cancel everything. I tried to explain my dissatisfaction (I did not use bad words or raise my voice) and I asked him if I was missing something. His solution - simply hang up on me.

It remains to be seen if I actually get scammed for some or all of the CC payment. Since the CC receipt used the words confirmation and it wasn't, I suspect there are legal issues here as well. The guy admitted they did not have seats/contracts with some of the carriers. Clearly they were selling products they did not have then switching the product for a higher rate.

I recommend you simply avoid them.

OneTravel stay away from these guys

I was put onto this website from a colleague saying that they were the cheapest and bets priced for flights, I have used Expedia now for 6 years and never had an issue, This is the first time I will use One Travel and I will make sure that I blog as many websites as I can disgracing your company as the way you advertise is tricking people and the way you deal with people who have been tricked is worse by charging them a cancellation fee ($75 each total $150). One travel does not operate with business with scruples, if you continue to operate in this way your business will not last.

Even the address I asked for to complain to was wrong, You people really can’t enjoy working for a company like this its disgraceful.

I only hope that you have some compassion to refund my cancellation only 5 minutes after I booked it.

OneTravel rip off

I advise to never use onetravel.com I used their site to book 6 tickets to Puerto Rico. While I was in the process of purchasing tickets, everything was fine and the site said that I was buying 6 tickets and they even asked for all 6 names and birthdays. However, once I had paid, they sent me a confirmation letter that said that I had only bought 1 ticket and it was a completely different time and price than the one I originally looked at! Thus, I immediatley called their company, but no one picked up. I called a second time, but still, i was on the line for 10 whole minutes. So I proceeded to email them about the mistake. However, I didnt get a reply until 2 days later with them saying that they refuse to refund me and that the entire thing was my mistake. I am still in the process of arguing this, but as of now I have lost $242. Again, I cannot warn enough to never use this company!

OneTravel no refund for cancelled flights

WARNING - OneTravel.Com and CheapoAir.Com are the same RIPOFF company, PLEASE DON'T BOOK with either company - They lie about cancellations, refunds and don't put anything into an email for obvious reasons.

My adventure began with a lat minute decision to join my girlfriend with a broken foot on a trip to Brussels Belgium. I contacted two travel agencies but they could not help me because of the complexity of my trip beyond Brussels. So I booked on April 14th five reservations with OneTravel, two EasyJet flights from Brussels to Berlin, Berlin London, two hotel reservations in Berlin and a flight on Air Transat flight London to Toronto. My booking to Brussels was on AirJetWays that I booked directly with them. As you all likely know European flights were cancelled and I did not leave on April 16 for Brussels. On April 17th I contacted OneTravel by phone and notified them of my need to cancel all five bookings. I followed up with an email to the person I spoke with. Several days go by and I get no responses back by phone or email, so I contact them again by phone provide the same information again because the person pretends they know nothing about my cancellation request. Nothing happens for days again, so I call again ask for a supervisor, this time the lady tries to deal with Air Transat ticket and I get another bunch of can't help you stuff about Air Transat. Since I had contacted Air Transat I new they will rebook the tickets so finally she agrees to have a three way call with Air Transat. After looking at the cost of my rebooking, I choose to have the taxes refunded that should be $300 out of a $530 ticket. The refund was my big victory of $68 ... how they got that I have no idea but the Air Transat representative was clear that I was entitled to the taxes back.

The saga continues, I don't have a positive resolution to all five bookings. One thing that burns me is that the EasyJet flight were cancelled, how could they charge the customer? Hotel bookings were cancelled two days in advance of the arrival - how could they charge for the room?

Once Again, check the user feedback and don't book with scams such as OneTravel or CheapoAir.
