Office Depot Customer Service

I want to report a customer service experience that happened on Friday March 19, 2021 between 5:00 P.M. & 5:30 P.M. at the Office Depot located at 1240 Vine St, Los Angeles, CA 90038.

The incident bothered me because I felt there were clear examples of bad customer service.

I wanted to mail a package and I walked up to the spot at the counter where I had mailed packages many times before. At the time there were not any other customers at the counter or at the front cashier counter. There were three employees standing at the front register engaging in a private conversation. There were two males and a female. The two males clearly saw me but left me standing there. I found this action on their part very disrespectful. One of the male employees finally came over and said, "are you all set?" and I said plainly, "I have been for a while". I looked at his name tag and it read "Austin". Austin then said, "Are you situated now?" and I said, "I have been for minutes".

I felt these two questions from Austin were obviously designed to act as to cover and/or excuse his earlier chosen behavior to consciously make me wait and ignore me, and his questions, I felt were said so he could claim he didn't think I was ready if ever questioned. I was standing looking straight at Austin, and I felt he could easily have said to me, "Just a minute" or "Can I help you?", but instead he decided he'd make me wait, and I found this very rude.

Austin entered the information in the computer and rang up my order for my package all the while talking in a very monotone voice.
I the picked up to items to buy, so I could stop at the front register get the name of the other male employee, but he walked away and I could see his name tag, but he was wearing a gray sweatshirt with black lettering and "NY" was part of the writing on his sweatshirt.

I continued to purchase my selected items, and the female's name tag read "Natalie" and as she was ringing up my purchase Austin came over and stood really close to Natalie and proceeded to put a hand-held fan in her hair, and the hand-held fan quickly got caught in Natalie's hair. Natalie then said to Austin "Didn't you say you were going to leave me alone?".
Is this how you want your employees at Office Depot to act?

I go to this Office Depot location because it's in close proximity and convenient to where I live, but if Office Depot management condones this type of customer service and behavior that seems to be harassment of one employee upon another, maybe I should find another place to bring my business.

Office Depot REFUND COMPLAINT for case#[protected] on order#[protected]-001

I cancelled my subscription and on January 8, 2021 it was automatically withdrawn from my account. I have been trying to receive this refund since January. I have called and spoke to members of your team on the following dates about my refund of $129.99. 01/08/2021, 02/12/2021, 02/15/2021, 02/24/2021 spoke to Jess & 4:07pm, 02/24/2021 spoke to Ray @3:40pm. Called again on 03/06/2021 at 1:52 and spoke to Relia and I asked to speak to a manager in charge. She told me the manager was unavailable and would be calling me back. As of today, I have not received a call back or my refund.
I have called my bank and I have been advised that there has not been a refund attempted from office depot to my account. At this point I am very frustrated with the time I have spent with the back and forth. I'd like a complete refund either refund on my card or a check in the full amount of $129.99.

Desired outcome: FULL REFUND OF $129.99 REFUNDED BACK TO MY CARD OR CHECK

Office Depot Harassment, double/over charged, missing products, hung up on, negligence, unauthorized transaction

Copy of my email response today to Robert. And attached is copy of chat with Justin (sorry for my terrible spelling. was very anxious by the situation)

Thank you processing my return, considering it took weeks to come to a verdict. I thank you for showing it could have done in less then a day when effort is put forth in actually assisting to resolve customers issues. It takes a lot of mental strength to do business with your company in the way they and yourself speak to customers and make them feel all but valued for the thousands they have spent and wont spend again. I commend your employees lack of hard work and dedication put forth for that truly takes effort and cognitive execution in addition to the cruelty I have endured. After interactions networking with other companies today, witnessing actual customer dedication and care, it will have to be dire necessity for Office Depot to receive mine, or any of my sixty and growing facilities, several hundred remote employees, or the LGBTQ community and anyone that asks my recommendation of an office supplier to do business with you.

I have dealt with rude or difficult call reps, and people in general my whole life but the level of inconsistencies, disrespect, and ultimately negligence that I have experienced this past month from a major professional entity will be insurmountable to surpass. With my interaction with you, Robert, finalizing my allowance to be treated with such disrespect and aggression. One manager fully harasses me to a point of personal and financial concern (Attached conversation) over what I directly refused (I had to cancel and change my banking card as a result, as well as purchase additional firewall protection from being remotely denied access to my own profile), then you, delivering such a hostile and condescending experience goes to show why your workers below your supervision have such poor manners, customer relations, and again, overall incompetence. To the point I almost believe the company posses a very real anti-gay sentiment.

Considering this, of many, was such a simple request but turned out to be a month long debacle, in some cases JUST to get the product I paid for. Perhaps you should revisit those core values you mentioned of quality service, or perhaps simply you are in the wrong trade? Among many under your leadership, if I dare call it that. Thank you again for demonstrating the inconstancies of your company of having me send back a product of the exact same class and manufacture that a different Office Depot employee told me to keep and discard of due to risk factors associated with the product usage, material, and the fact I my company's main prerogative is COVID testing and vaccine administration. So, if risking your employees is your goal, I have no choice but to trust your astounded judgment. After all, its been a month today since I ordered this item, and the others that I have had unceasing and unnecessary complications with. I can only sum down to personal attacks towards me in general. I don't know any other reason it is so consistent of this mistreatment. You have permanently instilled the view of Office Depot as a toxic, prejudice money hungry corporation with no consideration for what is the one and only cause of its success. Its customers.

Again thank you for doing in 3 hours what I have been waiting weeks to be done. It certainly has not been a pleasure doing business with you. Or the associate I spoke to prior to you. Which you never address the reason I even requested to speak to a manager, or even inquire. Intolerable, inconsiderate, and condescending attitude portraying she would rather be doing anything in the world except what she is being paid to do and making me, as a customer, feel incredibly unvalued because they are "confused", as you so happened to enjoyed saying towards myself. Completely forgetting their role in a customer service call center is… assisting customers? But again, you spoke to me the same way so its no surprise CSA's would mimic their leadership, if I dare call it that. And with that, may actual leadership within Office Depot make the appropriate change before others are treated like myself and it becomes common talk of it being expected treatment to customers by your company when, your company, was the cause of the issues.

Thank you for helping me appreciate companies that do offer valued customer service, for I will gladly pay double cost then have to be sequestered to the hateful treatment you and others have shown. But luckily most places are also cheaper so, simple business choice at this point.

As a gay, minority, I have never felt as discriminated against as I have this past month by your company. And my lawyer has loved it. Best of luck with your barbaric approach to customer relations and problem resolution. This treatment has made me very distraught and caused a significant amount of lasting unrest and anxiousness. To the point I am unable to utilize all the supplies I have purchased because its all a reminder of the hateful mistreatment and judgement that its suppliers subjugated me to and the personal and financial information of mine that is at risk from the impulsive and manipulative abusers of your company. Who, I believe have kept the products I should have received myself at my personal cost. Among numerous fears that have been instilled by, what my lawyer called, prejudice hate inflicted towards me for no other reason then being prime candidate to be victimized.

Desired outcome: Return every product purchased. Justin and Robert let go or mandatory customer relation training

So, it has been 15 days since your last response. I have since been TRIPLE charged totaling near $1, 500. It has been a week since then and I still have not received my money. I am a college student. You have caused my car insurance, my renters' insurance, and my life insurance all to be canceled. My life insurance has now gone up $324 annually, resulting in $8, 000 more dollars I am going to have to pay on this plan until I'm of age to switch plans. You have caused my credit score to go down. and yet, your company is the cause and allowing for me to be without utilities or a way to legally drive in the middle of an epidemic. I have a recording of my phone call today of Charlisa in their rewards department who not only kept me on hold for well over 30 minutes just to pick up and say she was hanging up and then ignored me and, in fact, hung up. Just like she did yesterday. Same person. Yesterday I filed a complaint with the manager about her. today, its bigger now, she thought she hit mute but instead I got to hear her and her coworker laughing and insulting my situation. I have placed numerous phone calls to the corporate office, I have sent emails to Vera Barber, your company YOUR EMPLOYEES submitted those charges. NOT ME. I have recording of your employees saying they have no supervisor on their department "IN dispose" is what charlisa said yesterday when she refused to tell me her employee number and hung up on me. Your company thinks it is a joke to go into a customer’s account, submit wrong transactions, then submit yet again another wrong transaction, then (on record) I had 3 employees tell me they cancled the 2nd one, that next morning it was shipped to me and then I was told well sorry order has been shipped. I am taking these recording and these claims to every single industry, social media, claims court that will allow this submission. You have no business operating and the damages that have been done to me both financial, emotional, and once I have no water or electricity and no legal car, physically. Simply calling and complaining does nothing. Something must be done about this criminal transcrepencies that I have very well documented and recorded. I have had managers respond to my complaints as "that’s good to hear". Good to hear I cannot pay my bills, I have no money for food, no way of transportation because your employees submitted over $1, 000, not me, you, then told glad to hear? The fact alone that it has been weeks and no one in your fancy office has reached out to me asides weeks ago before this issue ever happened and even that lady was rude and hung up on me because she was upset, SHE CALLED me while I was taking an exam. Everything above happens, and as your company resolution, I describe what has now taken place. This will affect me for the next 25 years. This will affect every loan I apply for. This will affect my actual heath when I have no running water or electricity, and why my food spoils as consequence, oh yeah, I cannot legally drive to get anything, and even if I could, you have all my money. The rep I spoke to yesterday after filing a complaint told me that this whole time my money was sitting on a hold by yall. on an order I cancled seconds after that rep submitted it. a week later. and they told me it’s going to take another week. I have been hung up on, fully ignored, lied to, spoken to like a dog, and insulted as a result of trying to get my problem, fixed. Every time I talk to someone, they say this and that, but it wasn’t until after my insurance was cut off anyone put a rush, when I called several times the two days before the fact. Remember, your office received one of the emails I made sure I stayed on the phone while the rep typed it and sent it. Unless she sent it to a friend next to her. I have had you “supervisors” on 3-way calls with my bank and my bank has all but called your managers liars. Actually, one of my bank reps did in fact. You cannot be trusted with a single ounce of accountability or trusted with anything for that matter. I’m on over 72 hours I’ve waited for my most recent call back not including today. Today I’m on hour 4.
The gravity of the turmoil and loss I have suffered will be paid in full and plus. My pain and suffering will be rightfully "resolved". I gave every chance I could for you to right your wrongs. Now it’s time for the American Government to protect its citizens. I have never felt so attacked or targeted. I have given yall thousands the past month and the past month you spit on me with every single transaction. Count up the total mistakes since Feb. 9th. I dare you to respond on this post with that total number. Show the world. Because I am.

To resolve? Your corporate customer relations worker, Vera Barber, called me while I was taking an online Midterm Exam. When I said I was unable to speak her tone immediately switched from overly happy (clearly fake) to I was the completely wasting her time then... hung up on me?

If you are calling an upset customer to resolve an issue, how on earth is a condescending and annoyed tone onto then hanging up on me in anyway at all a resolution? All she did was confirm that it all starts from the top, My 2 minute interaction with this Vera Barber managed to encompassed everything I am complaining about. Proving why so many representatives and managers have treated me and others precisely in that way. She leads by example. That example happens to be rude and throw some money. so, NO I DO NOT ACCEPT your $100 gift card when I have spent $1, 000s just in the past month and still treated with absolute disrespect. $100 does not justify harassments at every level of your company. I was so distraught after Vera's phone call that I performed SIGNIFICANLY lower on the remainder of the exam because I do not understand how someone could call me to resolve how I was mistreated only to add further pain and suffering. PROVING the discrimination I continue to receive from this intolerant and prejudice company.

Office Depot Printers cartridge yellow

Brother's TN-223Y print cartridge only lasted for 10 receipts

Carlos the operations manager of The National City Office Depot said it's because of the settings on my computer
That's a asinine thing to say considering that the previous cartridge was the one that came with the printer and lasted for over two years and hundreds of invoices

Office Depot Lenovo IdeaPad 720S Laptop - Item No. 3084728 - Laptop sold as NEW; but it is used/refurbished

Item ordered online in Nov 2020 (christmas gift), received December 15th. Advertised and sold as NEW with 1 year factory warranty.

On or about Feb 10th started not charging, thought it was battery. When I used the Lenovo loaded software diagnostics, it stated unit was OUT OF WARRANTY BACK IN 2019, WHICH MEANS THE UNIT WAS 2018 MODLE!
My son, (his gift and user) opened an incident report #[protected]

Selling used units as new is ILLEGAL, AND I demand a full refund ASAP. Shame on Office Depot. I've done reputable business with you for years, and no more.

My order No. is [protected]-001, $1077.49, it was charged on Alicia Gibson's Visa ending in 1058.

Office Depot Lenovo® ideapad 3 laptop

I placed order on 31st January 2021 for laptop to be delivered on 450 Niagara

Falls Dr Anna Texas 75409. I received email that it has been cancelled. Today I talked to Office Depot Representative and she said that order has been cancelled and money has been refunded in the bank. My complaint is:
First I did not cancel order and second she misstated that money has been refunded. On this I placed order again and I was charged second time for the same laptop. The order that was cancelled is Order #: [protected] and the next order that was placed through customer service representative is Order Number: [protected] on 2 February 2021.
It is submitted that money for first cancelled laptop order and must be refunded and second laptop should be shipt and sent to me as early as possible.

Jan. 26 2021 Using a google search I accessed the web page for your store in Windsor N. California. The site listed the products I need. I then drove about 20 miles (40 round trip) for the nettec booster. That store closed down 1 or 2 years ago. Office Depot Refund

I returned the Epson 2760 printer. It was picked up on the 8th of January. I was to receive a refund within 7 business days. It is now the 21st of January and I still have not received my refund. I keep calling and not getting any answers. Just that a supervisor will email me. I haven't received any emails. I really would appreciate my refund of $327.74. Return # [protected]-001

Office Depot Members Select Service Membership

I signed up for the free trial for the Members Select Benefits. In order to even sign up for the free trial you have to enter a credit card number, which is the only reason my card entered into the system. With that being said and attempt was made to charge my credit card on file on 12/30/20 and my card declined so my debit card that was on file from online purchases was ran twice on 1/7/21 without my authorization. I notified Office Depot on 1/7/21 of the charges and stated that I wanted the membership to be cancelled immediately and for my account to be fully refunded. I have since called approximately 4 times and I keep receiving the same response that my membership has been cancelled and a refund was put in to be issued to me. The problem is, I have been told this by every single representative I speak to but my account is still showing a credit for $100.00 and stating that the membership will not end until 12/29/21 of this year.

Office Depot Customer Service regarding furniture delivery

I just had the worst experience in purchasing anything in my entire adult life and I'm 69 years old. I was told my order was out for delivery on 12/30/2020 and I was told it would arrive by 5 pm and later I was told it would still arrive by 9 pm. The furniture never arrived. I was told it would arrive the next day & it did not arrive. I then was told it would arrive on 01/04/2021 and it still did not arrive. It did arrive on 01/05/2021 at 3:40 pm. I was told by the contractor the boxes could only be left on the front porch or garage, but the contractor that assembles the furniture for Office Depot wants them in the room where they will be assembled. These boxes were too heavy for most people to move on their own. If I had known I would receive the absolute worst service I could imagine, I would not have purchased your furniture, and being told that I had to move the boxes was more than I could tolerate. Fortunately for me, the delivery person was kind enough to put them in the room where they are to be assembled. Please do not use the corona-virus as an excuse. The communication has been horrific with the vendor used for customer service except for the supervisor, May, that took over my delivery issue and got it handled. Previous to her, I had been lied to by a front line person and hung up on by what was told to me to be a supervisor. This model of business is not sustainable in my opinion and to be sure, I will NEVER order anything from Office Depot again. Extremely, disappointed!

Office Depot Canon color laser printer that does not work and they are not wanting to refund me

On December 1, I went to Office Depot Store in Culver City California, and I purchased a Laser color printer. The salesperson said they had none in stock, but that they could order one for me. Which he did. It was shipped to my home.
I received Saturday December 5.
When we tried to turn it on, it did not work. It kept showing an error message that the tray was out of paper.
I called office depot and explained what happened. The person I spoke with said I could return it within 14 days.
I went today to return it, today is December 9th, and the lady at the store said she could not accept the item because the computer system did not recognize the item since it had been an online order.
She told me to call 1800 Go Office Depot.
So I called the 1800 number, and upon entering the order number, the automated system stated the item is non returnable.
I tried the live chat, and the chat agent said he had to check with the vendor directly, and place a service request with them.
I sent an email, for which I received an automated response indicating someone would review my email in 3 to 5 business days. That is outside the original 14 day refund timeframe that was originally given to me.
After waiting more than an hour, a live agent answered my call and said that there was a request for The Resolution Team to review this and they would contact me via email in 24 hours because the item was appearing as non returnable.
At this point I have already spent an hour on the phone with store with my first phone call, a 2 hour trip to the Office Depot to return the printer and them telling me they could not take it, another couple of hours trying to reach someone on the live chat and finally just being on hold for more than an hour and I still do not know if they will refund me the item. The agent specifically I would receive an update on the review of my request, but not that they would in fact allow me to return the item.
So I completely do not understand why would Office Depot sell a non returnable item, and why would they drag this out in such an entangled manner for a product that simply does not work.
If someone could assist me with getting this resolved, it would be greatly appreciated.

I reported to "Liz" the supervisor that my cards had been destroyed (by her) according to the General Manager. They were my personal study cards that I purchased from amazon and that the store would need to reimburse me for them. I called her again on 8/31/2020 and she stated that she would not be reimbursing me. I think that since my personal study cards were destroyed that I purchased with my own money, I should be reimbursed

Office Depot Ordered a TV. Still have not received it

I ordered a tv on June 27, 2020 with it said to be arriving on July 9, 2020. Mind you, when I ordered it said it was in stock. I checked up on my order about a week later, closer to the delivery date, it stated it was still processing. So i contacted customer service, and they guaranteed me that it would be in by 5pm on July 9th. July 9th came and nothing was delivered. After going back and forth with customer service, customer resolution, and the virtual warehouse and getting run around after run around, I was told it would be back in stock on July 24, 2020 and that I would receive it would ship out the following Monday, July 27. Today is July 27, 2020, and Have received an email that stated it would be in stock on August 5, 2020. Now I have to wait longer ? This is not acceptable at all.
