Current member of Occidental Vacation Club, very very unhappy with my membership Barcelo ripped all members off!

I became a member in 2015 and was generally happy. Barcelo bought out Occidental right after that and boy has this been a nightmare. The sales people will lie left and right to get that sale and then people are stuck paying thousands of dollars for nothing. Members were the only ones who could book First Club rooms, now Barcelo let's anyone book them, at Xcaret, the FC pool that everyone was sold as private to FC, nope, now they say it's the teeny, tiny little spa pool to the left of FC, 4 bottles of alcohol in the room, we haven't had an issue with that YET but guessing eventually it will happen where they'll take that away too, reservations at ala cartes preference, nope we were limited last trip and then it changed due to complaints. Barcelo is a horrible company that bought out a vacation club and then took all those who bought into it and took away their amenities promised or they say they don't "have their unit available" in the Barcelo system so we get a hotel room. C'mon Barcelo you can do better for the members or buy my membership back and I'll leave ya alone.

I tried to book the Royal Club in March but it was full so we settled for First Club

We are currently at the hotel and would like to join our friend [protected]@ the Royal Beach Club bar. Last night the bar would not serve us. Spoke to reps here only to be told that it would cost $45.00 each to go to the royal club for myself& husband. What is the extra for just to go to the bar

We don't plan on going to the restaurant. Why do much money? Can't accommodation be made for us

We leave on Saturday, may 7th.

I like this to come to a resolution before I sell my membership

This company will tell you anything you want to hear to get you to buy into the company, they will show you wonderful pictures (but when you go to get those they are always a grade up from you) I own what they say is the best they have 2 bedroom royal club, but yet to get a room like in the book in aruba you have to upgrade? The pictures she the room in your time share, why would you need to up grade and if you own the highest they have why would you need to spend more? It's also getting to a place you need to book over a year in advance because they have over sold the time share and now have more owners than space, but if you go on line you can book a room and if you call under your time share they will tell you it's full. So again scam. They also give you rci and ice and they tell you nothing about it and than you have them calling you and have no clue what to do, the more "gifts" they give you the more that you will pay for your time share. Trust me you can find these time shares on line for almost nothing because people just want out from under them. The maint fee will just keep going up every year and its harder and harder to get into resort. The food has never been over a 3 star and you only get great treatment when you buy in don't expect that the next time you stay. Also they have not been doing anything with room care, maint, it's going down hill fast.

We hired a legal service to cancel our membership in Jan 2017. The agreement with Occidental is they would terminate our membership and refund $1000, providing we never made critical comments on social media. They reneged on their agreement never refunded anything. Occidental Vacation club in Mexico is a run by hustlers who con you into what seems like a great offer but it really just a way to get you to pay outrageous monthly fees for years.

I bought a membership with Occidental Vacation Club, the next day I asked for the cancellation but they refused because I was told that i had renounced to the clause which says that I have those 5 days, so from there I found it all very strange and I started researching and found thousands of complaints and bad reviews about occidental Vacation club, and greater was my need to cancel my membership! I researched PROFECO and saw that this practice was illegal, so I did not want to risk me to lose all my money, then i fast contacted a company dedicated to cancel timeshare memberships, called Mexican timeshare solutions, I told them my situation and they told me that like me exist many other people in the same situation or worst.. it is a whole mafia ! thank God MTS could cancel my contract and get my money back.

Never trust what they say those liars, if I had believed them and I had not moved surely i would continue giving them my money for 30 years, what a waste ! timeshare cancellation is possible, dont believe that not, be careful and stay sharp.
