National Tire & Battery [NTB] oil change

I went to ntb and received a oil change 8/30/19 at 6:32pm. I arrived home 2.1miles from said location and noticed oil dripping from my vehicle so I parked it. On 9/3 I got ready to get in my vehicle and noticed a large oil spill. I immediately returned to ntb to be told that my oil filter housing is busted and that they cannot order one yo replace it I have to take it to the dealer. Whyyyyy? I didnt change the oil or replace the filter ntb did and therefore busted the housing so why am I left to foot the bill.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] poor customer service from management level employee

On Wednesday, August 28th I actually went into the NTB location (at referenced address) and spoke with the customer Serv manager (male) to schedule an appointment to have a new tire replaced and air put in the same tire. (front left tire)
Well I was there making my appointment I advised the representative (male) that I understand that my tire is never in stock and I would like to schedule an appointment on Saturday (8/31) to have a new tire installed. The representative gathered my tire information, entered that information into the system and scheduled my appointment. I confirmed if the tire would be available on Saturday and the rep (male) advised me that it would be ready on Saturday.

A few days later, I CALLED the NTB store on 848 E BELTLINE RD, CEDAR HILL, and asked if there were any open appointments for that day because I wanted to come in on Friday INSTEAD of Saturday for my appointment if possible. The male who answered the phone advised that there was no availability on Friday bcse the appointments were booked up for the day. I told the person that in that case, I will keep my Saturday 8/31 @10am appointment. Then I SPECIFICALLY ask that person "...if my tire would be available one I come in for my appointment on Saturday. That person advised me that stating "...the tire should be available once you come in for your appointment." I SPECIFICALLY stated to him (which sounded like the same guy who scheduled my appointment on Wednesday), that NTB NEVER has my tire in stock so I'm scheduling early to make sure my tire would be available once I come in for my appointment. The guy stated again, "The tire should be available once you make it for your appointment tomorrow."

ISSUE: When I came in for my appointment on Saturday, 8/31 at 10am, I was assisted by a representative/asst manager name Julia. First of all, she greeted my with, "What can I help you with hun!" I told her that I'm coming in for my 10am scheduled appointment. She asked if I scheduled online? And I told her no. I scheduled my appointment with the other guy who's helping the other customer standing right next to her. I told her that he scheduled by appointment for me when I came into the store on Wednesday 8/28. She then begin to explain that people who are scheduling their appointments online are not being helped because it's not accurate. Moreover, she pulled up my appointment and ask me what tire did I need? I told her that I didn't know what tire I need from memory and that the tire size should be in the system because the other guy put it in the system on Wednesday.
Then she looked in the system and advised me that the tire would have to be picked up from another store. I asked her how long would all that take to get the tire installed. She advised that it would take about an hour and 45 mins to get the tire installed. I went on to explain to her that I made the appointment on Wednesday and I called in on Friday to confirm if the tire would be available, ONLY to get there on Saturday and they still need to go and get the tire. She tried explaining that they are not responsible for what does and doesn't get delivered to the store. She explained that when tires are ordered, that they are just delivered. They don't have time to check to see what was actually ordered and what was delivered to the store. She mentioned that they don't have time to double check the orders. I explained to her (Julia) that I asked the male on the phone yesterday if my tire would be at the store for my appointment on today. She mentioned that, "AGAIN, we don't have any control over what was delivered to the store ma'am." I tried explaining over and over that I know that my tire is not stocked at the store and that I didn't expect that my size tire would be in stock, but that I scheduled my appt 3 or 4 days earlier just to make sure that my tire would be at the store when I came in for my appointment. She mentioned that there's no way to know what tire I needed until I came in for my appointment. So in an effort to explain to Julia that this is the THIRD time that I have scheduled an appointment at this same location and each and every time someone has to drive and get my tire from another store. EVEN WHEN I SCHEDULE AN APPT several days before to allow time for someone to get the tire from another store. After communicating my frustration to her, she was only interested in trying to prove her point that they do not know which tire I would need until I come in for my appt. Julia didn't even try to really understand or be empathic to what I was explaining to her. I don't even think that she heard me when I said that I had just called in the day before to confirm if my tire would be available when I come in for my appointment the next day (Saturday). She continued to say sarcastic phases like, 'darling' and 'honey' to try an mock or convey contempt when speaking to me.

I was so embarrassed and so disappointment in how I was treated in front of other employees and other customers. She every once apologized for the misunderstanding nor did she even think to say "..I'm sorry you have experienced this 3 other times before". It was extremely emotionally painful to stand there and try to explain to Julia what I have experienced 2 other times and now to try and explain that I called in the day before to confirm if the tire would be there.

Compliant: I have never experience such distastefulness in a team lead...ever! Not only did I experience unprofessionalism, but it was from a first line leader from whom I would have thought had training skills that would defuse customer concerns. It appears that a front line leader would have the skill set that would maintain and establish a positive customer experience, professional etiquette, ability to deal with practical problems like complaints about service times, tires not available, etc. including the ability to use positive language. During our discussion she would reference me a 'darling' and 'honey'. As I was leaving she made a sarcastic statement saying "GOD BLESS YOU HONEY! Have a nice day!" while she was winking her left eye and clicking her tongue (making a noise with her mouth) as she was walking off.

I'm requesting that a regional manager contact me regarding this matter.
There's only so much that can be written which does not describe the behavior of Julia.
Please feel free to call me at [protected] or email me at [protected]@gmail.com

National Tire & Battery [NTB] diagnoses

Took LS430 in on Tuesday for electrical diagnosis. Car wasn't serviced until Friday. Was told the guy doing the repair was there on Friday. Come Saturday morning the guy supposedly came to work for about a hour them went home sick. I had to call 3 times between Friday and Saturday to get a update
but each call I was told they would "get back with me, which they never did. Diagnosis was inconclusive AND had a dent in my front fender on Saturday when I picked it up. Was charged $156.00 for basically a free dent curtiosy of NTB BRENTWOOD.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] customer service

I took my truck the NTB in Lexington, SC on Hwy 378 to get 4 tires mounted and balanced. Because I have 22" fuel rims and was getting 35" tires mounted on them, I needed a place that could reverse mount them (required on these rims). Talked to the service tech and he said he would call me when completed. They called me right before closing to inform me my truck was done. I get there, pick up my truck, and leave. I stopped down the street to get gas and noticed a big gouge in one of my rims (keep in mind these are practically brand new and NO scratches or imperfections). I then start looking at the rest of my rims. Sure enough...there was an identical "L" shaped scratch on the inside of each rim on 2 different spots. (2 on each rim). The scratches were deep enough to gouge into the metal. These are black rims so the scratches showed up quite well. In each scratch you could see where someone had wiped away the brakes dust as if to see the damage each time they did it. So they definitely knew. I called back and spoke to the assistant manager who said to text him pictures...which I did. He said come back the next day to speak to the manager. I came back to following day and the manager basically called me a liar. He stated the scratches were not done by his shop and that they happened somewhere else obviously. I said "are you kidding me"? The same exact scratches in he same exact location on each rim? I said these were practically brand new and NO scratches when I dropped it off. He said "can you prove that". I would NEVER recommend their service ...not to mention use them again to anyone. Any business that employees such unprofessional and incompetent workers is a business I will never use.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] product/service complaint

Good Evening, my name is Mr. Keith Shankle. I am writing this email to inform you that I am very dissatisfied an unhappy with the service that I received from National Tire Battery. I brought my 1984 Cadillac Fleetwood to your business for an oil change, top fluids off. When my oil change was complete the worker backed my vehicle out of the Bay Area but left it in front of the Bay Area. My wife proceeds to get in my car an turned on the switch to crank it. When she cranked my vehicle the no charge light came on. When the worker opened the hood a belt was broken. I proceeded to tell them to change the belt an they also charged me $150.00 for changing the belt. I honestly feel the company was responsible for the damage. I feel as though something was done to my vehicle, because my vehicle was not even moved out of the Bay Area. Once I left the NTB I started hearing a squealing noise that was not happening until they worked on my vehicle. I was told to bring my vehicle back. I did return my vehicle to NTB to find out what was causing the squealing noise. I also told the workers not to roll down my driver side window because it was off track, well they did the total opposite. I feel if you make a mistake just be honest an on up to the mistake. I feel that if I wouldn't have been present at the time to see the incident about my window I would have never known. Once my vehicle was checked for the squealing noise I had my wife's vehicle oil changed. They asked who was the last ones to change the oil. I asked why they then explained the wrong cap was put on that stops the oil from coming out. I then explained to them they were the last ones to change the oil. My wife stayed there the 1st time for hours while they supposedly ordered the right cap that the broke. Then I find out they never put the right cap on. This why I am very dissatisfied with the service. Once I talked them about the squealing noise on my vehicle they then tried to tell me that it was the power steering pump. Then they turned around an stated that the gear box needed to be changed 1st. They stated it would be $610.00 for the service an I asked them what was going to be done due to the damage they caused. The worker stated they could give a $50.00 discount. I feel that's unacceptable due to NTB causing the damage to my vehicle. I then picked my vehicle up again an now it's driving with a shaking feeling with the real end. None of these things was happening with my vehicle until I brought it to NTB. If I can't get any clarification or good customer service to compensate the mistakes that was done. I will be taking further actions. Please contact me by phone or email. My contact information is: [protected], email: ksimpala. [protected]@gmail.com. I will be waiting to hear from you.
Thank You,
Mr. Keith Shankle

National Tire & Battery [NTB] service

I stopped at NTB in Greensburg Rt. 30 store at 4pm. on August 16th 2019. I had picked up a screw in my left rear tire. I asked the service manager if he could plug a tire for me that I had picked up a screw. He told me that he had just picked up 4 cars and that it would be at least 2 hrs. I asked him if he couldn't pull one guy to plug my tire that it would only take a couple of minutes. He said I can't help you. I said to him that there is no such thing as service anymore. He just shrugged his shoulders. I am 67 years old and had my wife and granddaughter with me.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] replacing rims

I went into the location on July 2 to get two rims swapped on my car. I own a 2016 Camaro LT with aftermarket rims. They changed the rims, and I noticed a day later that I was missing the center cap to one rim that should have not been taken off. They also damaged the two rims they put on as well with some scuff marks. I went back into the store to ask where it was and why the new rims were marked up and they told me they couldn't get it back on and tried to take one off from the old rim and couldn't so they put it in the box with the old rim. As for the marks on the new rims, they said they did not mark them up. I checked the box and there was no center cap. When I looked in the box I noticed they damaged the old rim. I had curb rash on it already that I had an appointment to get fixed, but they put gouges in it to where it will be way more expensive to fix than buying a new rim. I have pics of both the center cap missing and the gouges they put in. This is poor craftsmanship and no one told me anything about these two things. The fact that they tried to hide this and not tell me when I constantly take pictures of my car and attend car shows frustrates me. I am pretty upset about this and need a resolution.

One picture will show the center cap that should be on the wheel.

This is the location I have gone too for years and never had a problem until now.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] diagnosis of starting problem-wrong diagnosed

On 6/20/2019 I took a 1999 mercury villager to ntb in hixson, tennessee.
First diagnosis
They diagnosed the problem as being a bad fuel pump. So we purchased a fuel pump from o'reillys auto parts. And ntb claimed it was a bad fuel pump. So we exchanged pumps and they diagnosed it to be the sending unit not the pump. They said they could not find a sending unit or pump. So I ordered a sending unit and pump from amazon ($185.00). After 5 days of waiting they said it was not right unit. (I even showed ntb picture of unit before ordering)
Second diagnosis
The manager said that we needed a distributor. ($682.98). I asked the manager if he was sure this would cure the problem. "I guarantee it" he said. After paying him $682.98 and 5 more days, they finally pulled the van around and it had a ping sound. So we drove the van and it still wasn't fixed.
Third diagnosis
It definitely was the fuel pump or sending unit. And he would repair it for another $300.00 then he dropped price to $200.00 labor. (so I drove 200 miles and bought the third pump and sending unit.)
After this the manager became scarce and refused to wait on us.
Also I noticed that since the begining, 2-3 different mechanics worked on the van.
After returning with 3rd fuel pump, a mechanic took 10 minutes to install. Pulled the van around. By this time the engine was really clanking. I asked the mechanic why. "he replied that it could possibly be a knock sensor, but didn't really know. I asked for the manager again. I was told he was off again, they didn't know when he would be back in.
After not seeing the manager, I was told that he would not charge me for installing the third pump and sending unit. Van was making a lot of noise at this point.
Fourth diagnosis
After leaving ntb I took the van to express auto on 1916 gunbarrel road.
Diagnosis was a rod knocking. So we ended up putting a new engine ($999.00), labor ($932.00) the original problem the van was idling and dying.
Total spent
Ntb= $682.98- distributor parts & labor)
Parts=fuel pump $109.00 (o'reillys)
Parts=fuel pump and sending unit - $185.00 (amazon)
Parts=fuel pump and sending unit - $55.00 (used) turner auto parts
New engine=$999.00 (sv engines)
Labor for installation of engine. $932.00
I feel like I should be re-imbursed for new engine (parts and labor), since when the van went in for service their was zero wrong with engine.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] tire purchase, rotation and balance

Two weeks ago I took my truck to NTB to have a tire replacement. The tire was replaced, but they failed to balance the tires. I already had free balancing, which I purchased previously. Last week I took my car to have it serviced, and found out it was running rough because the tires needed balancing. This costed me another $135 for the labor and balancing. This is unacceptable and I expect someone to contact me to resolve this issue immediately. Katrina Strong, [protected]@yahoo.com or [protected].

National Tire & Battery [NTB] they did not rotate my tires because I am a woman and they thought they could scam me

I have pictures of my tires still in the same place they took advantage of me cause I am a woman typical repair shop problem. They put battery check and advise they never advised me about anything. My father always said as a female when you drive up to get a repair or buy a new car the first thing they say is great she's a woman! Really did they not think when I got home my husband who had put air in it so I could get there this morning would not realized they had not rotated my tires and the right front which got plugged was in the same place with the white marker print still on it. You and them should be ashamed no telling how many woman they have done that to this week alone.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] poor customer service

I had the absolute worst service on 8.1.19 at the store at 11951 Paul Mayer Ave, Bridgeton MO 63044 (I believe it is store number 8672) (Invoice no 40033015015) I came in on 7.31.19 originally just to fix a tire with a nail in it. Due to the tread on my tire I was told it had to be replaced (since I had two tires with low tread) I decided to replace them both but they weren't in stock so I would have to come back the next day on 8.1.19. I asked how long the appointment would be and was quoted about 1.5 hours to replace the tires so scheduled an appointment with enough time with a little extra, so I wouldn't be late picking up my 3 year old from day care. Well once the tires were off one of your associates (Joe) tried to sell me brake pads & agreed to it but told him I have an absolute hard stop time of 5pm so I can pick up my son & he said no problem. Well 4:45 rolls around (I have been at your store for 2 hours at this point) & I go to check on the status of my car: 1) a wrong part was delivered so it was going to take longer & I was never notified of this delay despite having stressed I have a hard stop time & 2) I was now told it would be like 6pm before they were finished.
At this point now I am scrambling to figure out what to do for my son as I really had no other options. Because he is 3 and in a car seat it is not like I could take an Uber/ Taxi/ ect. to go pick him up and come back as well as limited to the fact of who else could pick him up for me due to him needing a car seat. Also it was getting late and with dinner and his bed time being 7:30 I didn't want to be lugging him all around town.
I ended up having to call my parents who were already out to dinner and have my mom leave their dinner to go pick him up. On top of all of that it wasn't until 6:50 (4 hours) at your store that I left. Granted I get that I was getting now brake pads on top of tires so I get that's going to take long then the initial quoted time but I was beyond frustrated since I feel like the associate who talked me 100% didn't listen to me and was just trying to "make a sale". I am so disappointed and frustrated you better believe I will never come back to NTB or ever recommend them to others are this point.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] tires

I have "several" issues with this store and company. I purchased new tires last year along with the warranty. I have had nothing but issues with the tires and the service of the store.
I am currently sitting in the store for the 3rd time addressing the same issue! The front driver tire is defective and instead of replacing it the store keeps patching it up! What's the purpose of a warranty if you dont honor it and "replace" the defective tire? I travel for work and I can't afford nor do I have the time to continuously put air in a defective tire but most importantly it's not SAFE!
Second issue is I made an appointment online just to find out that the online system is not working! So again, I am sitting in the store waiting to "see" if they can get to my truck. I was told that the online service doesn't work and the store is booked until Sunday. Totally UNACCEPTABLE! I leave to go out of town tomorrow and the last thing I need is to come home to a flat tire after vacation. I am sure the store will "patch" the tire up again instead of replacing it.
This has been the worse customer service experience ever. I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and corporate.

Thoroughly Disappointed,

Chanel

National Tire & Battery [NTB] staff and tires

My husband got tires from here & then passed away. I been 2 places and says tires are 4 to 5 depth & only had 12, 000 the guy here says 7 to 8. I can see the wear. The manager Roger and other guy is rude. Not nice when you walk in. No hi or nothing. Or no smile. and & pretty much said I'm a liar. Wish my husband didn't get them here. & my tire been low a month come in twice & said I had to wait 4 to 6 hours. So someone has a flat has to wait. That is not right and guys are standing around. I didn't even want to come get rotation or tire fixed because he and they make me feel uncomfortable. I do not like it here and my tires are not good for the miles and I don't have my husband anymore to come and complain. They don't listen to women. This location is not good. Unfriendly

National Tire & Battery [NTB] theft

7/25/19 at 8:45am - Teresa Brooks, President of REO Connection, had dropped my car off at 12:30pm on 7/24/19 after speaking with Jim Stunda, the store manager, to have a flat tire repaired. I called again at 4:30 asking Jim if the tire had been fixed & he assured me that he would get it done. I never received a call that the repair had been completed. Unfortunately, Jim did NOT call my number (I provided it when I left the car with him) but called my assistant's old cell # and who was off yesterday to advise last night that the car was ready. Jim said he left a voice mail message. When I called the old cell #, the voice mail was NOT set up (Jim had advised me that he had left a voice message). I called NTB at 8am on 7/25/19 & Jim informed me the car tire had been fixed. I paid for the tire repair & went out to my car. Immediately, I saw the Juicy Fruit gum laying in the driver side seat. I don't chew gum but carry it in my center console for my family members. I unlocked the car & inspected the center console & found that the cash (@$150) that I had been accumulating for a trip in 10 days along with a business card case (next to the cash) had been stolen. I immediately went inside & got Jim to show him what I had discovered. I asked Jim who had repaired the tire & he told me that Trey Torres. He advised me that Trey Torres was off today & was expected tomorrow, 7/26/19, at 10am. When I got home (the store is about 3 minutes from my house), I looked in the glove box & found my wallet containing my car registration, car insurance & inspection paper (provided by NTB last month when I had my car inspected) were also stolen. When I called Jim back to advise him of the additional missing items, he advised me that there were a couple of cars at the pizza place across the street that were broken into last night through busted out windows. I advised Jim that he did not see any broken glass when I brought him out to see my center console. I asked if he had video surveillance & he said that surrounding businesses did. I have contacted the Virginia Beach Police & filed a report at 9:15am. Also, I have contacted Vincent McCatty at the corporate office to report this theft at @ 9:30am. I have been a loyal customer with Merchant Tires & NTB for @ 25 years - as this has never happened before, I can't believe this has happened!

National Tire & Battery [NTB] car tire installation service

My Tire Rack delivery confirmation was July 9th. That was the date that tires were delivered to NTB Old Georgetown Road (the installer). The installer never returned multiple phone calls requesting an appointment and was finally contacted Monday July 15th. On Tuesday July 16th an appointment was offered after two further calls to the installer at 1.30p on Wednesday July 17th. The car was dropped off on time.

The reception doubles as a dining area and was full of mechanics having their lunch when I visited. The installer refused to install the new tires on the front wheels and rotate the front wheel tires to the rear mentioning hydroplaning. There is no mention of this issue in the Honda CR-V EXL 4WD manufacturers handbook only that the tires should be of the same type and manufacturer. They offered wheel alignment @ $90 which I accepted though I considered this to be unexpectedly expensive.

The car was not ready at the promised time. No call was made to notify me. When I called to ask the status the installer said it was raining and that they would not be working until the rainstorm passed. The weather system reports a duration of 30 minutes for the storm. They told me the car was inside and up but would not be worked on until the "storm" was over because of the danger of lightning strikes and power outage.

No call was received this morning July 18th and though the opening time for the installer is listed as 7.30 the phone was not answered until 9.15am. At this time I was told that the car may be ready by 11.30 - 12pm today. The installer said he would call to let me know when the car would be ready but as of 10.05am today has not called either to explain the delay that has caused me considerable inconvenience and expense. I have received a returned call to Tire Rack customer service to say the car would be ready by 12p.

Upon arriving to collect my car, the car had been parked in a public park some considerable distance from NTB adding to the inconvenience of this horrible experience.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] wait & deceitful sales pitch

After waiting for two hours for an oil change, I had to ask why did the guy (Jose) go to another car. I asked him to bring my car down because I watched him decide to give add ons that the Dealership never suggested. So I went to William Weeks (says he was the manager) but business card says Sales Associate. He NEVER looked at my vehicle and tried to say something other than what was wrong. I know my vehicle and understand that sometimes my light is me not having my gas cap tight. To a person who don't ask questions, can be deceived. Also, I told him that I didn't need to have my tires looked at because I am under warranty with another competitor. That is what got them uptight because I knew from my mechanic and the dealership of what I needed. At this point, I don't know what corporate will do about the complaints

National Tire & Battery [NTB] a/c service - under warranty

After having an extensive AC rebuild last summer, two weeks ago, I noticed my System was not cooling effectively. I called & was told I had warranty left & to bring in this last Tuesday at 8a. I arrived & explained, as best I could, the circumstances, how it worsened with the escalating heat of the day, etc. I attempted to be as polite as possible, explained I thought there was possibly a coolant leak. The attendant went out to the car & came back in, without any testing or to actually evaluate the car & told me "the variant temperature is below normal & there is nothing I can do for you. You have an active imagination. You do need front tires. Can we talk about that?" Needless to say, I immediately changed my tone & told him to hook the car to every machine he had & determine why it would not cool. Long story short, there was a large leak in the coolant compartment & with parts ordered & 8 hours later, they were forced to honor the warranty, fix the leak & recharge the AC unit.
This is at least the 3rd time the front of the house workers at your store have treated me as if I have no sense. I don't know if you need warm bodies or what but get them in customer service courses or at least remind them of basic common courtesy. There are tire stores on every corner & I will never set foot in this place again.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] a patched/plugged tire

On May 24, 2019, I visited the above noted NTB store to repair a flat tire due to a nail puncture in the tread of the tire. Last week, the tire was almost flat so I added air to the tire and went back to the above store. After waiting 2 hours, I was told that the integrity of the tire was compromised and that I needed to purchase a new tire. The Manager, Mr. Burns, adamantly refused to try to repair the faulty previously patched/plugged tire. He tried to say that they didn't patch the tire and then went so far as to say that the tires were not purchased at NTB. The tires were purchased at NTB and I showed him the receipt showing that they were. I also informed him that this is the first time I have had to have a tire repair on these tires. I know this because I keep all receipts for any work done on my car. He gave every excuse under the sun why he would not patch the tire. I felt that I didn't need to purchase a new tire at this time so I asked them to put the tire back on my car and I then drove to a nearby tire store who inspected the tire. I asked this employee if I needed a new tire or if this tire should be repaired. The employee sprayed some type of liquid over the patched tire and it bubbled, which he said indicated that the patch/plug had a slow leak. He stated that he would have to remove the tire and that he could possibly patch it if it hadn't been ground down too far the first time. He was able to repair the tire and stated that I did not need a new tire at this time. I am respectfully requesting that I be issued a refund of the $25.00 I paid to have the tire repaired at another tire store since the Manager, Mr. Burns, adamantly refused to fix their faulty patch work. I have submitted a copy of the receipt showing what I paid to have the tire repaired properly. I feel that this is the least you can do to help me. I spent 2 hours to have the tire repaired at NTB and then another 2 hours last week trying to get them to resolve this issue. I have the receipt showing that they (NTB), patched and plugged the tire on May 24th. I can also submit a copy of this receipt as well, upon your request. The NTB order # was [protected].

Respectfully,
