National Tire & Battery [NTB] wheel alignment

On October 14, 2019 I paid for a wheel alignment and should have been told that I didn't need a wheel alignment. I went to Auto check to get a wheel alignment on my truck a different vehicle. They were very honest with me and instead of taking my money they told me I didn't need one. They read over the paper work that NTB gave me for my car and stated to me I didn't need one on the car neither. I am requesting my 84.73 back. I have a copy of both my receipt and the alignment report.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] tire service

On October 20th at 1:45 I dropped off 4 old tires with wheels mounted on them already and requested to have them dismounted and have my like new tires put on. About 2 hours later I received a call from Nate, the manager at the store stating that there is a big bubble in the sidewall of the first tire that they tried to mount. I had a 5th spare tire that I brought up there hoping that only one tire was bad and that I would still be able to have 4 tires mounted and balanced. I left and did not hear anything from them. Seeing as how the store closed at 6 I drove up at 5:30 to see what was going on. Nate was sitting at his desk and he proceeded to tell me that they tried mounting a 2nd tire and that tire has a bubble on the sidewall as well. He told me the tires are no good and that I should go back to the place I got them from and complain to them. I then grabbed all the wheels and tires and began to load them up in my truck and then noticed that the 2 tires that they mounted had multiple chunks taken out of them, I asked one of the employees if this was normal and I was told "oh yeah that happens all the time, it's no big deal and it does not effect anything"
I got home and was unloading them out of my truck and noticed that also all 4 wheels have gouges all over the insides of them. Today I took the wheels and tires up to 2 other tire shops to get opinions on them and was told that those tires that they tried mounting are completely destroyed now and the other 3 tires that they did not touch are absolutely in perfect condition and there is nothing wrong with them and they will be no problem at all to mount and balance. I was also told that they clamped the wheel on the tire machine the wrong way and that is why there is gouges all over the insides of my wheels. Upon speaking to Nate today he said he would take fault for the damaged wheels but as far as the tires go we would have to speak to his manager about that. He just kept repeating that it's possible that they damaged them but maybe they didn't. He did state that one of the employees was having troubles mounting the tire and that he had to come help him. I would like to be fully compensated for my 4 wheels and 2 tires that were damaged as a result from your company. If I do not get a response in regards to this matter I will be left with no choice but to persue legal action. I have attached some pictures of all of the wheels that were damaged along with the tires that were damaged, I also took pictures of the tires that they did not touch showing that there was absolutely no issues with them before they touched them.
Sincerely,
Tyler Bogenpohl

National Tire & Battery [NTB] had an oil change and tire rotation and my tire sensor and other things now my truck is having electrical problem

I believe that the tech working on my truck did something because he didn't want to do the work and he was under my hood working. My wife over heard the supervisor and a technician describing the work of the technician who was working on my truck
I call and they acting like the incident didn't happen
I believe that because the technician was mad and he was working on my truck any old way

National Tire & Battery [NTB] wait time and attempt to accept payment for services not rendered

I scheduled an online appointment for 9am today for an oil change and tire rotation. I waited and was advised at 10:20am that my vehicle was done. I inquired how they were able to find my wheel lock to rotate my tires without asking me at which time the cashier relocated to the mechanics and informed me that my tires were not rotated at all. I informed the cashier that I didn't appreciate being charged for a service that was not done and had an appointment scheduled for 11am for something else at which time he instructed the mechanics to rotate my tires. Needless to say, I was just about late due to their failure to render services that I was charged for and would've gotten away with it had I not remembered to ask about my wheel lock that was essential in removing the tires for the rotation. This is totally unacceptable!

National Tire & Battery [NTB] air conditioning

I normally try to give the benefit of the doubt but I am never coming back to NTB. In august of this year I paid $1021.00 to get my air conditioning fixed (only because I was a couple months outside of warranty) through their third party "Big O Tires". A month later, my AC is not getting cold again. So, I take it to get it fixed under warranty. They keep my car for TWO WEEKS, and never call to let me know what is going on, how long it will take, etc. Not a single time. Finally, I get fed up and call and they claim they left me a message (I didn't have even a missed call). So, I go to get my car finally. First thing I do is turn on my AC, it is STILL not working. So, they keep my car again. They asked if it was "convenient" for me to leave it with them again, OF COURSE NOT! Just fix what wasn't fixed correctly! It has been three weeks that they have had my car, and did they call to say what happened? Of course not. It was incredibly inconvenient for me with work, and I am lucky that had another way of transportation since they have had my vehicle for three weeks to fix something that they didn't fix correctly! I just can't believe how terrible this experience has been. No consideration for my time AT ALL, and no updates on what is going on with my vehicle. The people at the store were nice to my face, but obviously don't care for their customers, as they have left me to figure out getting to work and class for three weeks with no explanation as to why.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] road hazard

Brought my car to have a flat tire repaired because I have road hazard coverage. Was called that car was ready. When my wife went to pick up car NTB wanted to charge $58.00 for installing a new tire. The object causing the flat was in a fixable spot. My wife called me and I spoke to the manager in charge, when I questioned why I wasn't called about a new tire he said it could not be repaired because it was a STAPLE and it was 2 holes to close together to patch. I asked again about not being called and he said we can take care of it, we can put the old one back on. I said do it. They said ok it will be about 30 minutes. 2 hours later I called back because I had not heard from them. The car was ready. My wife picked up the car and brought it to another tire place who pulled a KEY out of the tire not a staple. There was only one hole not two and it was easily repaired. Since I had purchased road hazard with NTB and they did what they did I believe I should be able to get my road hazard refunded. I paid $17.50 for the tire to be repaired when I should have gotten it repaired free with the road hazard coverage.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] service

I am submitting a complaint regarding service that was performed on my vehicle that resulted in a failed transmission and thousands of dollars in maintenance fees. I have submitted a claim through NTB's third party ‘Segwick.' My claim was denied, which I will be appealing. The report provided by and the Honda dealership that my car was towed to when it broke down five days after NTB performed work on my vehicle, both show that my CVT transmission failed due to negligence of the NTB. The Honda dealer reports that the transmission plug was not returned, but laying on the transmission, causing the fluid to evaporate/leak out and ultimately causing the transmission to blow.

On the day my car was serviced, the oil was changed, battery changed, air filter checked, fluids topped off, etc. Five days later, on the way to a wedding, my car broke down. When calling to inform NTB, they insisted that they don't check transmission fluids. The transmission fluid plug was not replaced and I indeed, did not go under the hood. That is why I take my car to NTB.

I have been taking my car to NTB since I purchased it in dec 2014. It is a 2015 and has never given me issues, or missed a service check. My car was never in an accident and was in great shape when I took my car to NTB on telegraph rd in Virginia. I owned a Honda before purchasing this HONDA and it went for 300k miles before I decided to purchase this car, so for this car to fail on me for no reason I'd bazaar.

The fact that my claim has been denied, without satisfactory investigation or consideration and the fact that NTB is refusing to accept responsibility really frustrates me, especially since I've been a loyal customer for 5+ years. I've incurred thousands of dollars in service charges, Uber fees, rental car fees, etc and this has caused me to develop a distaste for NTB.

The Segwick representative was also unprofessional and very curt . She refused to call or provide her supervisor information.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] worker endangered my life

5/23/19 I went in to get my brakes checked. Dan Kirk was the mechanic who worked on my car. I was told I needed $3000 in repairs. For hours, Dan Kirk was trying to convince me, in a buddy-buddy, confrontational way to pay the $3000. After a few hours, I decided to not have Mr. Kirk service my car at all. I was met with opposition from him after denying service several times. He wouldn't even allow me to have him just do the brakes. Finally, he stared at me and accepted my request to not have him fix anything.in 10 minutes he put my car back together, and I was charged $185.62 for the diagnostic.
— This diagnostic that Dan Kirk performed, however, endangered my life. After denying him $3000 in service for the car, he put my car back together — he put other older metric lug nuts on my wheels, left several of them completely loose, and completely stripped a few, to the point where the inside of the bolt was stripped. My father and I had to saw off the tire. Furthermore, Dan decided to not put my oil back in the car, and switched it out for synthetic, recycled oil. My father has worked on cars his entire life and saw all of this when I got back home...
— How does an employee at NTB get away with this? I want my $185.62 back immediately. I will go to the Better Business Bureau to report all of this, if I am not properly compensated, for the extremely poor treatment I recieved, and for the lack of professionalism and concern this business has for others' lives on the road.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] complaint regarding service

I made an appointment for an oil change on 9/20 which turned into a 4 day ordeal. I had to take my car back the next day due to an oil leak which was caused by the mechanics breaking a part of the oil filter. I was told to leave my car and pick it up the next day. I picked it up on Sunday morning and had to take it back again on Monday after work for another oil leak issue. This time I was told that it was a $1000 mistake that they needed to fix and I wouldn't be leaving with my car again. I was given a rental car (when I left my JEEP there). I was told on Tuesday that there was an even bigger issue that they wanted to fix with the radiator that was not there when I dropped the car off on Friday.

Lastly, I left personal items in the rental car and realized when it was too last to pick them up. I call at 7am on Wednesday morning and asked them to hold the car for an hour while a family member came to pickup the items. I received a call at 8:30 that the care was gone and it was on it's way to Fallston, MD. My father than called around and the car was actually heading to a Enterprise Rental less than 5 minutes away.

I was given a full refund for the $200 I spent initially on Friday for my "troubles". However, the 5 day ordeal that was caused by a simple oil change has me very disappointed in NTB as a whole. I will never be back and will be paying off my credit card balance and tearing up my card. Additionally, I will never recommend NTB to anyone.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] mechanical repairs

On sept. 4, 2019 I took my 2003 cavalier into ntb in crestwood, ill. Because the check engine light was on. I was there for three hours and was told that they had replaced a valve. I was charged $450. On sept. 8, 2019, the light went on again. I took it back in
On sept. 10, 2019. I was told that the valve was faulty and a new one was installed.
I was not charged. Today, sept. 16, 2019 the check engine light went on yet again.
I now have an appointment to bring it back tomorrow at 11 o'clock. I was told that the same mechanic will be working on it... If he knew what he was doing I wouldn't have had to make a second and now a third trip back. What the results will be after tomorrow's visit are unknown. But I have to say that the service I am receiving is
Grossly inadequate and should this problem ever be corrected I will never return to ntb. I will inform my family, friends, and even any strangers I meet to stay far, far away from there.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] service on my brakes and rotors

To whom this may concern I brought my lexus in 2012 is350 august 4, 2019 to get a few services done such as an oil change, tires, brakes, and alignment. I first ask if they had any promotions and leo curtis stated to me that they didn't have any promotions. Which was a bold face lie when I did some research they had a few promotions online. So later on they had to adjust my bill. Secondly after driving the vehicle for a week I noticed that my brakes was making a really loud noise so I followed up with leo curtis. I was really nervous because of my brakes felt like they wouldn't stop so it was a major concern for me. And safety issue. I spoke with him twice and they still can not fix the issue also after speaking with the district manager he was really not concerned at all and never follow back up with me. He stated to me bring the vehicle back up and he credit me some money to my account but the issue is still not fixed my brakes are still making a really loud noise and feel like they won't stop at all. If someone can please follow up with me I will gladly appreciate it because I felt like I was taken advantage of I spent well over $1300 to get the service is done and to this day the brakes are not done correctly and my will alignment. This service at this location is horrible I even asked the district manager where they certify. His attitude is very nonchalant and should not be working for the company. Also if things are not fixed I will file a lawsuit. Mr, little [protected]

National Tire & Battery [NTB] left front driver tire replacement

I really wished I videotaped the entire incident and not the last part of it because this experience was unbelievable. Hopefully, they have security cameras inside that will tell the story but I doubt it.

This place wreaked of unprofessionalism. Only reason why I went there was because I had a flat on highway. Tow truck recommended I go there and dropped me off.

Emoloyee #1- Milton
Employee #2- Patrick
Employee #3- Yves

FACTS-
1. At 5:45pm I enter NTB. Employee #1 eating lunch at the entrance. Only to get up a minute or two later to acknowledge that I'm there waiting (whatever)

2. Employee #1 has an attitude as if I am ruining his snack time and tells me before I can get my car serviced I need to grab my keys from the tow truck driver AND WAKE UP Employee #2 to replace my tire.

3. Employee #2, is sleeping comfortably up front on the couch as a line forms at the register.

4. I am in bind now, my car has a flat and need to go to work. I wake up Employee #2 and he says it would take 20minutes to replace my tire.

5. One hour in, 6:45pm, I ask Employee #1 how much longer will it take to service my car and that is when all hell broke loose. Keeping a professional composure as he berates me for asking. He tells me now Employee #3 is hard to work with and that he does not want to ask him because he will leave the establishment and not service any cars. He continues to say Employee #3 only has 2 days left on the job and that he does not want to be bothered. (I told him not my problem)

6. Employee #1, continues to tell me that he can't do anything, he works in sales and that I can complain all I want. He told me and two other customers to a call a 1-800 # that he was unwilling to provide. He told me to "Google it"

7. Employee #1, continues to tell me that he made an exception for the tow to drop off my car at 5:45 when they close at 7pm. I advised him this is not an "exception" and that he was not doing me any favors to replace a tire. I advised him that I am paying for a service as a customer and IF I knew what type of place this was I would have NEVER set foot here.

8. From my understanding, Employee #2 was the one that was going to fix my car, not Employee #3.

9. Employee #2, goes to the bathroom and the whole place mainly the waiting area had a concentrated smell of poo.

10. It is now ~8pm, Employee #2 FINALLY starts to replace my tire.

11. I paid $179 for the tire, mount, install, warranty with Employee #1. He was still upset that I told him he lacked customer service skills.

12. It is now 8:25pm, and I missed 4 out of my 6 promo samplings. This was a nightmare.

13. Through it all i still maintained my professional demeanor. One thing I learned is you cannot stoop down or get out of character for people that are not on the same wavelength as you. At all cost protect your energy.

14. I could potentially lose my job because of someone's lack of motivation, work ethic and costumer service skills.

15. And to make matters worse Employee #3 put 4 wheels on backwards on one of the customers truck.

Never again.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] service overall

To whom may concern:

I went to your location off of Woodfield Rd which was my first experience at that particular location. I had been to your Germantown location multiple times and always got wonderful service. I took it in because my engine light was on, the technicians had may car for about a week, the call me and let me know it's ready. I pick it up and my engine light is still on, I leave it another night to be check. They had let me know it was an indicator light and that it would be looked at. I'm super upset and untrustful if anyone now looking at my car. The light is still on at this moment. I was and charged $1300 for my car to be "fixed" and it is my rent money and also the service manager got an attitude with me by phone and got aggressive. He even got this way was my partner. I called customer service to file a complaint and they "looked" into it. I was promised a call from the district manager to call and he/she never did. The representative wanted to at first give me $50 in coupons. I believe it was super unfair, I ended up getting $100 in coupons. I got an estimates in order to get my emissions test done, it's going to cost another $725 which I don't have and to get my car completely fixed it's another $1800. I'm disappointed, upset, frustrated since I've worked customer service for almost 20 years I was not and have not been given the customer service that I've been used to with this company. I live paycheck to paycheck I can't afford another repair. I was a loyal customer but after the incident at the Woodfield location, I never want to go back.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] tampered with my battery post

Long story short I went in to have my routine oil change which I always go there and they did a point check and told me some things that needed to be fixed and said that I had a bad battery. Explain to them that I bought a battery for months ago it cannot be bad they stated it is. So a few days later after this event my truck started to stall as if the battery was acting up. I left my hood up and touch the posts on my battery to make sure they were still tight and noticed both post of the batteries were loose into the point that the screws were sticking out. So once I tighten the screws back up my truck started right up. I am very upset and disappointed on how they handled the situation of going to the extreme to loosen the bolts on my battery to make it seem that the battery was bad. If they did this to me how many other people you think they have done is to in order to make some money that's bad business what next brake lines disconnect to say that you need to replace it before your brake line bust. I was stranded for a while until I figure out what the problem was that my truck just started acting up out of the blue. Unsure if this have caused any damage to my 4 month old battery.

From a disappointed dissatisfied customer

National Tire & Battery [NTB] store management

I'm really concerned about the lack of quality people you have working in the Huntsville market. I was going to let it go but what your team did is inexcusable.

image1. jpeg

After supposedly having my oil changed, tires rotated and car aligned, it makes me wonder if any work was even completed. NTB had no clue I had an appointment at Hyundai to have my recall completed. Upon arrival, they tell me my car isn't aligned. I'm like NTB was suppose to align it but they didn't. Hyundai told me this was a practice that shady companies do so tires wear quicker. My car sounds awful since NTB touched it. I left NTB went home. I didn't go anywhere in my car until I took it to Hyundai. After going back to talk with Thad, he looked like a deer caught in head lights. He was brought out by Hyundai. I hate shady people and businesses. These are the types of individuals you have representing your organization. Now lots of people on my FB page knows NOT to go to any of your locations. Very sad. After speaking with your customer service supervisor Michael today, I get the feeling that no one within your organization really cares about any of your consumers at all. I'm still waiting on a call from your district manager as well. I understand from our first conversation is that he has a major problem here in this area but it doesn't appear that he's doing much about it.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] tire balancing service contract

William Labuda email: [protected]@aol.com

In 2012 for my 2007 Honda Civix EX, I puchased 4 Michlin Tires (P225/60R15 Primacy Maxima) AND a Tire Balancing Contract AND 3 Year Tire Alignment Program. In 2016, I puchased a 5 Year Tire Alignment Program.

Recently, I took my car in for the tire balancing, rotation and aligment service.
The sale person could locate the alignment service contract on the computer, but COULD NOT locate the Tire Balancing contact. He said the company had been sold to Tire Kingdom and that the computer records can only be retrieved back to 2016.

I showed him a Final Bill/Invoice from 2018 noting that the Tire Balancing Service was performed at NO CHARGE, hence indicating the work was performed underder the SERVICE CONTRACT. (See attachment)

Since I paid for this service, my contract should be honored by the new owner, just as my 5 Year Alignment Program is now honored.

National Tire & Battery [NTB] total dissatisfaction

I brought my wife's car into NTB in Beaumont for a simple OIL CHANGE on Sunday September1st
Soon after they called me back and stated that it couldn't be completed because the oil pan screw
was stripped, I found that weird since the last 5 times I got my oil changed that was not the case,
so I asked could they get the part where the Store Manager Paul stated no because no one had the part in the entire city, after 2 minutes of calling I found the part at a local auto part store 1 minute away from the NTB store, after talking back to Paul he stated rudely if I can get it to him immediately he could get it done. The work was completed and I picked up my vehicle 2 days later my wife called me and said she was on the side of the road and something had fell from the bottom of her vehicle, I left work 20 minutes away to find out the skid plate was not put on properly, so we brought our vehicle back to NTB,
Neither of us was happy about the service but decided they had messed it up and allow them to fix it,
They put it back on and we left, the next day my wife called me AGAIN on the side of the road, so I decided to look myself at the SKID PLATE was put on with cable ties and half the screws was missing.
I called the store this morning Paul answered I told him how dissatisfied with the service and recommended that he simply allow me to take my car to the Audi dealership to get it done because of my lack of confidence in his establishment, not once apologizing for the poor service, or the fact that my wife was on the side of the road once, he told me I had to allow him to order it and they would fix it, even stating that it people want oil changes fast, but I had dropped my vehicle off so they didn't have to rush and that my car part wasn't important, I told him I expected my car in the same condition it was put in his service department.
After my repair I will NEVER go to this place again and neither will anyone I am affiliated with.
POOR SERVICE AND EVEN POOR MANAGEMENT
