North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] toll violation for a vehicle that isn't ours.

We have called multiple times regarding this issue and have now been sent to collections regarding a toll fee that is not ours. We live in California and have never been to Texas, yet we have received 2 different toll violations for a vehicle that is obviously not registered to us.

The picture of the vehicle on the paperwork sent is of a Ford Pickup truck with a white license plate with dark stamping. We do not have a pickup truck, nor have we ever had a pickup truck.

My husband's vehicle is a Ford SUV with a Black license plate and yellow stamping. We have called and have tried to explain their error and have been told it has been taken care of. Of course, this was never done.

Now it's been sent to collections and we get to jump through hoops because of their incompetence. How is this even legal?

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] unprofessional disrespectful employee

On Monday November 12, my brother was on his way to my house with both of my nieces when ran out of gas. His was coming westbound on President George Bush Tollway passed the Coit Road exit. He called the ntta roadside assistance for help at 4:12 pm. The employee that responded to the called arrived at 4:27 pm and just to tell him that he could not help him because he had exceed the limit on getting assistance and that was part of the policy procedures that he had to follow. I forgot to mention that one of my nieces is disabled. So my brother tells him i didnt there was a limit on getting assistance and your employee replied I sorry man i can't help you. Right before the employee walks away he tells my brother that he could escort him to get some gas. My brother turned down the offer because how was he going to leave both of my nieces sitting in the car by themselves, so the employee just turns around and walks away and just left them there without even trying to assist them in anyway possible. I have a toll tag on my vehicle in which i add funds to and try to to use the tollway unless i have too. So I had to go and rescue my brother and nieces around 5:20 pm and not once did that employee or any other employee checked on them after they were left there without assisting them. I believe that this is so unfair and so uncalled for. It was cold that day as well and without a running car there was no way the heater in the car could be turned on. Please get with all your employee and tell them to be more professional, stop being so lazy and to do their job. I hope the right action are taken about this incident if not i will hate to have to take to BBB or take further action

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] service vehicle behavior

We were on Sam Rayburn Tollway around the I35 exit westbound at approximately 10:10 PM on 11/10 when what looked like an NTTA service vehicle had its lights on and blocked the middle lane of traffic on the 3 lane highway. The left lane was completely stopped and the right lane was free. A large black bus cut right into the right lane and we had to swerve immediately onto the shoulder over a bridge to avoid colliding. Needless to say we probably avoided a hospital visit if not worse. We're not sure why the NTTA vehicle felt the need to obstruct the middle lane on a highway with a speed limit of 70 mph but a very serious collision could have occurred as a result of this. There was no accident in the middle lane when we passed either so there isn't much logical need to block the middle lane.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] zip bill

I just received a 2nd notice of non payment. I never received a initial bill or a 1st notice of non payment. I paid the ridiculous fee even though I should have never been charged this much. This is ridiculous and the lady I talked to said there was nothing I could do. Highway robbery if you ask me. I will avoide using any NTTA toll ever again if I'm able to.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] tolls and charges

I recently moved to Dallas June 28th. On June 29th, I registered my car at the Plano office and was told that since I am a disabled vet with disabled vet tags my tolls would be free in Texas. I went to the State website and the website also states tolls are free to disabled veterans with DV plates. I started taking the tolls. I received a bill for $193 do I called NTTA and told them about my plates and what I was told by the State office. The supervisor told me that she knows that the website has the information on it but the website is incorrect. She also told me there would be no waiver and I'm expected to pay the bill. I told her I did not think it was right so I filed a complaint with my senator's office, the State Attorney and BBB. I would have never used the tolls if I'd known that the information incorrect. I am requesting a waiver for the $193 bill I have due.

Thank you

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] toll

This is the biggest scam I've ever heard of. Just got a toll from visiting texas back in April. 5 months later I get a $45 dollar bill. As a visitor who is not familiar with the way your toll system works. I never received the first notice of the toll. Now you are extorting me for $45 on a $11 toll? If you are going to be charging these kind of prices you need to be sending these notices by certified mail.

BTW, the speed on one of the tollways was 75 mph. Try figuring out how to exit in a new area when people are driving that speed. Just glad I didn't cause anyone to wreck. The other tollway, I still have no idea that it was there. I just remember my app kept telling me to turn around & around until I turned it off cuz I was so lost I didn't know if I was coming or going. Luckily, the compass in my car helped me get back home.

I've accidentally gone down a two different tollways when I got lost. They don't make it easy to tell that you're about to go thru a toll & very hard to exit before you get there. Don't even bother calling them because they'll argue & argue. Basically, "just pay it" is they're attitude. They don't care if you got lost & was just trying to figure out how to get off they're money sucking road.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] overbilling

On 9/18/18 I reached out to NTTA to update Debit Card and Set up a Payment plan on Past Due Balance. I dealt with a Mr. Juan Mata. He Told me that he Could assist me but need to Split my Down Payment into to (2) Parts. (1) for $101.20 and a Second for $765.49.
I agreed and gave him my Card info. He Charged the first one for $101.20, then Charged me Twice for the $765.49. I did not notice that I had been charged twice until approximately 30 Minutes latter when I check my account and found a balance of -465.00.
I immediately called back and reported the error on NTTA's part and they said it would be reversed and sent back to my Account, but it could take 3 to 5 Days.
On 9/19/18 I got to work and checked my Account Balance, it was now -640.00 because the Bank had added (5) Overdraft Fees at $35.00 ea. Keep in Mind that would have never been Overdrawn if the NTTA had not Charged my account twice.
I called the NTTA and got a Major run around and speaking to 3 different managers. They all said the same general Thing " Man that is Terrible, I sure hate that that happened, We reversed it yesterday, there is Nothing we can do about it, call Your Bank". I asked to speak to another Supervisor and was told there is no one around, and they took my name and Number and said some one would call me with in 48 Hours. So far I have just heard Crickets.
I did call my Bank, "Credit Union of Texas" and explained what had happened. They were a lot more helpful then the NTTA. They agreed to remove (3) of the $35.00 Overdraft fees. However that still Left (2) totaling $70.00 that were charged to my account because of the NTTA.
This Morning 9/20/18 I have checked my account and the Money was returned, but only $695.49 be cause the $70.00 in Overdraft Fees were taken out.
I am not looking for the NTTA to clear my record, erase any Debts. But I do expect them to (A) Credit my Account $70.00 or (B) Send me a Check for $70.00
My name is Joel Dewey

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] customer support

This is for a corporate account that was charged in advance of using the tollways. In trying to cancel the corporate account and turn it into personal accounts, we were told by Brenda, at the Plano office, that we would not get a refund of the $200+ already charged but not used monies withdrawn from our bank account. I requested to speak with a supervisor and was told Landrum Hudson was not available because he was in a meeting but Brenda would have him call me the next day. Today is the next day and nothing. I called the number for Plano but reached someone in Dallas instead who had no idea what number she was at or what the number for the Plano office was. After begging to be transferred to someone else (frankly anyone else) was finally transferred to the Plano office and was told by Kelly that Mr. Hudson wasn't in yesterday and wasn't in today. Lies typically do go hand-in-hand with fraud- so I guess there should be no surprise here. Disgust - yes but surprise - no.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] billing

I had a bill for $6.80 and paid it online two days before it was due. About a month later, I got a notice of nonpayment which tacked on an additional $10. I looked back on my credit card and saw that the charge was never made. I called customer service and said that I didn't mind paying the $6.80 again because I didn't see it charged but asked if they could reverse the $10 since I was under the assumption that it was paid on time. The lady refused. This is a false charge because it's not my fault that they (or their system) didn't run my credit card. The lady was rude to me as well.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] charged for car that wasn't mine

A car with license plate KTY5649 repeatedly used toll roads and they were charged to us. At some point our license plate, which is KTY5659 was not registered properly. We don't use the Tolltag much, and are seriously considering getting rid of it after this fiasco. The woman I spoke with earlier would not credit our account. We believe that these charges should be removed from our account and charged to the person who drives the car with the KTY5649 license plate.

There were two charges made on the toll roads in Oklahoma that are correct, they were made on July 1, 2018, for $4.50 each. These are the only correct charges in July.

Melanie from NTTA just hung up on me when I asked to speak to her supervisor. I am furious that I am made to pay for someone else's use of the toll road.

I am reporting this and am on the phone with my credit card company (that woman's name is also Melanie) and refusing the last three charges. Prior to those three charges, the first one I only became aware of when my bill arrived a few days ago, the other two when I went online and confirmed with Visa. I am doing a formal dispute of all the Visa charges, I expect the paperwork to arrive later this week.

The screenshot photo below is only one page of the many charges I am disputing.

Sincerely, Laurie Weller

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] their billing system is broken, I have to pay fees

Sorry, we've sent it to collections and there is nothing we can do about it.
Bureaucratic nightmare words no one should ever have to hear. I had my visa card on autopay. The number got stolen, so when I went to replace it on the NTTA system, there were several days of unpaid tolls while I awaited the new card. Replaced the card on the system, all the tolls were charged to the new card, merrily we go on our way. But Wait! Two random tolls from the period not paid. $3.78. three months later I get a pink letter in the mail that says too bad for me, its been sent to collections for $38.78. I call customer service. It is all my problem, pay up. When I asked for a supervisor, none was available but we'll elevate it, have the supervisor look into it and call you back. A week later I call back. No record of any offer to elevate or call back. Plenty of documentation about how I need to just shut up and pay up. This time I insist on talking to a supervisor. Debbie was as cold, bureaucratic and unhelpful as the other reps. This group has my phone number, email, and my visa card that they have been charging all the other tolls to, but there was nothing they could do. Of course I have to eat the $35 fees and pay bill. Read what happens to all the other complaints on this page. I guess its good to have a monopoly and the power to destroy credit scores. Where do I get a job like that?

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] call center supervisor mark

Called several times about a car that I no longer have. Explained to sup. Mark ID# 9763. I sale cars all the time. I called when I received the first bill $7.49 and informed NTTA that I do not own the car anymore. Received 2nd bill $17.00. Call again and informed NTTA that I do not own that car anymore. I went to the DMV to have the car taken out my name. Sup. Mark says he can only waive $10. Sup. Mark says another bill was just sent to me. Bill now $43.38. And he couldn't do anything with. Bill that I not received yet. I have been with NTTA for 22 years on auto pay faithfully. Had to close my acct just to pay my balance off because Sup. Mark refuse to take the funds that was already in my acct. Mark was rude no help at all. He was okay with losing a cust. NTTA do not help there cust. I had to use my money to pay someone else bill. That is not rite. It's pointless to have a toll if I have to work for others.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] charging me for a car that was in the pound

They want to charge for a car I sold and was taken to the pound, thinking that they would not get the car back. I did not go to the office to take it off my name because I thought it was gone. Apparently, I was wrong or they are scamming me for a fake tollway? Doesn't matter, they need to stop harassing me because there is nothing I could do about it now. The info he gave me has been deleted.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] terrible roads & flying rocks.

I try to stay off the tollway as much as possible but I had to pick my mom up from the airport. 75 was not an option because of accidents/rush hour. I took SRT to DNT. DNT is really smooth in some spots, but others are just terrible. The road is extremely textured and bumpy. I had rocks flying at my car. Luckily I only had one chip in my windshield. I don't agree with paying to drive on a road that is gonna cause flying rocks (yes, I know that this can happen on any road, but I don't have to pay to drive on just any road) to crack my windshield along with a bumpy drive. I had to spend $90 on getting my windshield repaired and probably another $40-50 driving on DNT/SRT.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] north dallas tollway construction and road quality

I am a native dallasite who is happy about the growth taking place in the city; however I have a serious complaint about the road quality in dallas, especially the north dallas tollway. Both north and southbound lanes have been under construction for the past several weeks (between royal lane and mockingbird approximately). I'm utterly frustrated that my 2 month old vehicle has rock chips from the loose gravel coming from the unpaved road. I might have more patience and tolerance; but I as well as the other tollway patrons are paying serious dollars on a daily basis to have our cars damaged. There are also several craters on the road which either result in a damaged suspension or an accident (due to swerving to avoid the potholes). Once again, this might be a bit more acceptable if it were a "free"way; however this is a toll road. What are we paying for? One month and counting and I see no progress. Either reduce the cost of the tolls or expedite the construction. I'm not entirely sure if this complaint will provide any value, but I can't sit in silence and accept mediocrity. This is becoming the norm in our society and enough is enough. Please respect your customers and provide us with the quality that we are paying for. Most people use the tollway because of the improved road quality... So once again, what are we paying for?

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] no 1st bill or 1st notice

We used the tolls in Dallas around April. We are aware we have to pay the bill so we were waiting for it. We never got it so we though maybe it's free (of course not!) Fast forward to July, we finally received a letter but it says 2nd notice. I called to pay to get it over with, and I informed the lady over the phone that we never received the bill and the 1st notice. Of course she did not believe me and even said they have proof that they sent us 1 in April and 1 in May. and she even lectured me about how the toll works which I responded I know that but this is honestly our first letter. She sounded "oh well whatever" and immediately asked if we want to pay via visa or mastercard. I didn't argue further and went ahead and paid. But now I see that there are so many people who actually didn't receive their first notice, so now i am thinking this is their way of getting back money from gullible people like me. Is there a way we can be refunded of the money we didn't truly owe since it is out of our control? We are honest folks and do not want to owe any money to anybody but if you charge us of a penalty we truly do not deserve, that is foul. Who can I call to complain about this and give additional information to resolve this issue?

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] toll charges billed and the tag is not mine.

I was in Waco, Tx Sept. 2017. It was during a hurricane in Florida. My daughter drove out to meet me in her car. In Jan. 2018 I received a bill from NTTA (2nd notice) never got the first one. The blurred image of the vehicle was a car I had not yet even looked at or bought for my daughter. The tag on the notice was in her name. Florida registration goes by tag number, so why am I being billed for a car I hadn't bought yet with my daughter's tag? I think there is dome fraudulent activity happening between some "buy here, pay here" car companies and the NTTA.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] tollway construction debris

On Thursday evening, June 21 at approximately 7:30 pm - Southbound on The North Dallas Tollway between 635 and Royal Lane you had worked on the two inner lanes, however the payment was not resurfaced and was full of small pebbles and road debris which was easily being kicked up by all cars driving on the road. I am driving a brand new car with no windshield chips and within 30 seconds my car got hit by 7-8 stones causing damage to my brand new windshield.

I am seeking for NTTA to pay for the replacement of my windshield. I have been a NTTA user for 25 years and have paid thousands of dollars in tolls. I expect your company to do the right thing.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] payment arrangement not honored

I am writing about a payment arrangement I made with the NTTA. I owed $3, 310.19. I paid $647.78 down and agreed to make 26 additional monthly payments of $102.40 with the final payment being 102.41. I made my first 14 payments directly to the NTTA from October 16, 2015 to November 16, 2016 totaling 1, 433.60. A supervisor, Brian Malone confirmed I made those payments. After that, I had to make my remaining payments to a third party, Alliance One. The NTTA apparently provided them with an incorrect amount owed by not subtracting my first 14 payments from my balance. From December 16, 2016-March 16, 2018. I made an additional 16 payments to Alliance One totaling $1, 638.40. That makes my grand total that I have paid $3, 719.78 which is $409.59 more than what I even owe. Alliance One didn't pay the NTTA everything I paid. I provided Brian Malone receipts and bank statements proving that I have made all of my payments including the extra 4 payments I should be reimbursed for. He confirmed that I have met my obligation and would receive a call from a senior supervisor confirming the resolution. That was on April 19, 2018. I never received a call. Brian Malone called me instead today to inform me that after reviewing all of my proof, I will still be required to keep paying what they are saying I still owe. I do not owe anything. I have met my obligation plus an additional $409.59.

Thanks

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] unfair charges on tolls

I was unable to pay my tolls while driving like most other tollways and then was sent a bill. Only the bill was sent to the wrong address and what should have been a $5 toll became $49 over 6 months unbeknownst to me. I called to dispute the claim and was told I would need to fax them my dispute and there is no way to send it via other communications or to pay any less. This company took "Highway Robbery" too literal.
