I used to work for NOKIA and I can absolutely guarantee that any mail sent to any person from a hotmail, live, yahoo or any other address apart from nokia.com IS A SCAM SO PLEASE JUST DELETE THESE TEXTS.

Nokia DO NOT use hotmail, live, yahoo etc.

Please DO NOT REPLY to any text as is MAY give the sender a way to gain access to your contact details.

Please DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY if the sender requests it.

Please google NOKIA and contact your country of residence for any assistance. The agent that answers your call or replies to your email will have information about any scam that is using their name.

During my 2 years working with Nokia, I heard of many such scams.

I would also say that Nokia DO NOT reply to complaint boards unless it is on the OFFICIAL NOKIA SITE.

Nokia have their own message boards and are monitored by experienced Nokia staff.

Hope this helps xx

1. Next time, separate your block of text into paragraphs. It makes it muich easier to read.

2. Nokia can't do anything about text message scams, since they only make the phone, and not provide service for it. You'll need to contact your carrier (Virgin Mobile, Cell C, Vodacom, MTN) about this and ask them to block text messages from that sender.

I was notified by sms regarding my winning a certain amount in pounds on the ongoing nokia mobile promo. The notification directed me to call +[protected] or email nokia60 (at) london.com. This notification has cause sleepless nights and mental torture regarding such alleged claim for a prize won. Now if possible, please let me know through my email address the truth and authenticity of such promo and how and where i could formally file a complaint regarding this fraudulent acts. Please, if you may, inform nokia uk regarding this matter and verify the numbers stated for possible entrapment and further legal action if in case.

Thanks.

He did, but I did not. I researched a bit on behalf of myself and my family. I went up to when they give you email after you complete the "mobile". I did not complete verifcation, sure enough 2nd floor Berkley Square House is at the West-End of England. After few IP address backmasking and e-mail backmasking, it seems that an IP was traced back to the US.

I received the same sms for R95000.00. Ticket no. P286.
When I phoned, they told me to phone back in 20 minutes.
I then googled to find it a scam and phoned them back.
I told them I have reported their number, and they put the phone down in my ear.
Nokia better do something as their name is getting a bad reputation with this.

I received a sms this morning at 8.22 am claiming that my mobile no. won R95 000-00. in a mobile yearly promo with ticket number P286. I am aware that this is a scam so I called from my landline to the number provided [protected]. A very sleepy man by the name of Nelsie answered. I pretended that I had the wrong number but he still proceeded to tell me that this was the Nokia Claims Centre. Can this number not be traced and the person/s be brought to book?

I just got this sms this morning and called they said that i needed to buy 3 x R180 vouchers then call them with the pin numbers and my banking details then they would transfer it back to me along with the R95000. The number they are using now is [protected] and the email is claimdept@live.com. I definately think that Nokia should look into this as well as MTN as they are saying its in conjunction with MTN. People like this should definately be taken care of i couldn't agree more with you Xolani.

Re:- Replacement of Nokia 6500 S Colour F Black Batch no. [protected]

Sir,

We are shocked to bring to your knowledge that we have recently purchased the above-noted set which is infested with certain technical problems. The Mike and speaker of the mobile does’nt work properly. The phone also hangs. Since we have purchased the phone at a very dear price, we expect full value for our money and ask you to replace the set at the earliestDue to all this I am going through mental stress and lot of inconvenience as I have other liabilities too and important work to do. Due to not availability of my Phone I am unable to Contact anyone and wise versa.
I tried to contact Nokia many times through different medium i.e. Phone, through internet, I also visited to Service Centre six times in 20 days to check the status of my report. My jobsheet number is [protected]/090630/83 dated 30th june 09 given by Nokia care. Now I am fully dissatisfy with the services and need to get my Phone Replaced, or my amount with the suitable interest rate and compensation, else I will file a complaint with the Consumer Court under the Consumer Protection Act of 1986. I seek compensation for the mental agony caused due to his deficiency in services and inconvenience faced due to no availability of my Phone for almost one month. This is for the 3rd time I have send my mobile for repair to nokia service centre. I am regularly facing the problem in speaker and mike. You can understand that in 8 months I have sent my mobile 3 times for repair. After 4 months when guarantee will be over what would happen

In anticipation of your prompt response, Also ensure that such problems do not creep up in future and that our faith in Nokia remains undaunted.
