1.Allowance for checked in baggage 2. Penalty for flight cancellation
I am Professor Dr Norlijah Othman, a frequent flyer MH600914016. My return ticket from KLIA to Philadelphia was booked via Noble Travel and Tours through University Putra Malaysia. The details of my return flight was as follows:
11th August Airline Res Code KM09Z Malaysia Airlines (MAS-business) KL London
15th August Airline Res Code ZA516N (British Airways-Economy) London-Philadelphia
6th Oct Airlines Res Code BOBQJC (American Airlines-Economy) Philadelphia-LA
7th Oct Airline Res Code KMO9Z (Jap Airlines-Economy) LA-Tokyo Narita
8th October Res Code KM097 (MAS-business) Tokyo Narita -KL
The total fare paid was 28082.90
However the total checked in baggage allowed was only for the first bag with a maximum of 23kg for all the flights. I have actually found out that for all international flights including JAL and British Airlines the total checked in baggage is 2 bags each for a maximum of 23kg even for economy fare tickets. I also have colleagues on MAS who traveled on international flights on economy fare were given 2 checked in baggage with 23kg each. I have also traveled a few times in the past was given such standard allowance. Could you revise this for my return flight from LA to KLIA via Narita as I have paid this huge amount of total fare and also been a regular traveler on MAS.
The other issue is I have decided to cancel my connecting flight from Philadelphia to LA (6th October) while maintaining the flight on the 7th Oct from LA to KLIA via Narita. I have done this since 10th September ie 26 days from the due date. However, i was asked by the travel agency to pay a penalty as otherwise I will be considered as no show cause to the connecting flight and will not be able to take the flight back from LA via Narita to KLIA the following day. I do not understand why a penalty as I have given ample time to cancel such flight. I also expect a reimbursement as the cancellation was made almost a month prior to the actual flight. The connecting flight American Airlines policy also allows cancellation and reimbursement if it is done 21days from the date of the actual flight. Kindly verify.
