Nextdoor Social media

Nextdoor app cautioned me about a simple comment I made at the beginning of the Covid scare that did not fit their leftist panic narrative. They then took down a positive comment I made about our police on a thread of a woman who was trashing police. I reposted the comment and they required a photo to get my metadata I interpreted as a threat. I have asked them over ten times to unsubscribe me and they keep sending me emails, I have tried to block them with no success. I can no longer post to the site, so I know they have received my requests and have blocked me. I just want to be rid of these pathetic left wing radicals. I have a brain and think rationally, they cannot handle simple reasonable questions or comments.

Nextdoor Online service

Nextdoor is systematically banning users who object to extreme leftist racism and leftist ideological rants. Leftists "report" any posts that they disagree with, and Nextdoor bans users or gives them 30 day timeouts. I have received two such "timeouts"for objecting to leftist extremist rants. Nextdoor is firewalling extremism on their site to make sure that their targeted users never see opposing comments. In response to objections Nextdoor refers directly to their section 230 liability protection as a reminder to go stuff it. This is a diabolical service that is about the business of creating a platform exclusively for building an organizing platform for communists and leftist radicals.

Agree. I found out their (Nextdoor) Twitter post evidence online which shows they support Black Lives Matter, a Marxist movement.

Nextdoor Account disabled for posting helpful, factual information

Dear nextdoor, recently, in light of covid 19 I posted a helpful post title strengthen your immunity system and simply made the suggestion to strengthen your immunity system you may want to reduce your exposure to emfs and get hard wired using ethernet cables. It doesn't take long and I shared that I sleep better and feel healthier.
There are thousands of studies showing that emfs can be harmful and several just on the immune system. Millions of people in america have electro magnetic sensitivity (ems) and don't know it until they hard wire and feel the difference. Ems is a recognized disability by the american disability act.
I do not sell ethernet cables or make any money off my post. I did not shame anyone, and I did not preach. I simply made a suggestion inside of nextdoor's commitment to have healthy and safe communities.
My account was disabled.
I believe it is because one of the monitors for my area's nextdoor area works for telecom and knows that I also posted just the date and time of the next planning commissioner meeting when the applications for 4/5g facility installments are to be discussed at a public hearing.
If this is the case, this is censorship in favor of a big corporation and not in the best interest of our neighborhood. This censorship which can be limiting a disabled person from relief and impact the worsening of immune systems which can lead to further covid 19 cases and deaths. I am sure your team is not in alignment with this kind of censorship.
I would like my account to be reinstated and a response regarding why my account was disabled.
Thank you for your response.

Good afternoon

I am observing censoring, canceling conversations and discussions about topics like Covid. People that disagree or have questions are attacked, bullied, put in Next Door jail.
This is an attack to our free speech. I abide by ND guidelines. I talk respectfully to all the neighbors even when disagree.
I don’t know who the monitor is. Definitely, is somebody that are just please with one side of the story and canceling the nice neighbors that disagree.

Nextdoor filing false complaints and threats - resident "expert" opinions

I filed a complaint as to Nextdoor, itself several hours earlier. Since I was suspended I did not have access to the online entries. I found where I had moved and saved the e-mails. They will not attach because I cannot scan them into a JPG file.

I was accused by Nextdoor of being mean and suspended for 2 filings which I am quoting below:

In response to a problem with Texas Workforce, I wrote: "Sister had same problem as did others. Contacted Rep Mayes Middleton He got back to her contacted 1 or more TWC (sic) people. I think ..."(see more) the problem was resolved.

I then wrote "The problems included a computer glitch that said my sister had used up her Benefits although she has been with that employer for about 8 years straight. We are about 70 and sometimes need (sic). Sorry not a private responseon. (sic). Cant do from my phone.

Apparently I had not seen earlier responses from Patti Dixon. She wrote "Or...you can do that".

She had voluminous responses that included her work background and offers to help.

I don't know if this was just an ego thing or if she was charging for her help.
Apparently I was unaware she, and the NextDoor management-police, had decided Patti was the resident expert and no one was to intrude into her domain of expertise.

I don't think any of the above two entries of mine are mean and I have reviewed the rules and they are not violation of the rules. (April 7).

Nextdoor threatened me, without any legal basis, and subsequently suspended me. Some of Patti's expert answers are wrong.

I would suggest two things:
1) Print disclaimers on your resident expert opinions
2) If anyone is charging for their offers to assist others made as a Nextdoor resident expert, authorized as such by Nextdoor, this likely should be disclosed upfront and published similar to the other services for pay.

Consider this a complaint against the Nextdoor Officials who sent the threat and suspended me. Either they did not request to see my so called offensive entries or they knew the complaint against me was false and they assisted in facilitating this false complaint.

Nextdoor unethical and capricious behavior

yesterday (04/08/20) I responded to a person who was having a horrible time and unable to file an online unemployment application. No one had responded so I told this person how my sister had similar problems and had contacted our State Representative (name given), who contacted the Unemployment Commission, who contacted my sister, and that I believed it was resolved. Then someone came on and said, "Or you can do it that way" which doesn't make sense because "or" implies a choice of alternatives. Then the person sent pages of her suggestions, her work history, and prior job titles. I felt attacked and responded, pointing out I am 70 and I don't know how to a private conversation from my phone.

Apparently she reported me in a complaint. No one asked my side of the story, and I don't think anyone looked at the conversation records. Instead I was told not to be mean and threatened with removal. This was the first time I had ever responded, I attempted to deal with this on a neighborhood page. I was then suspended or unsubscribed.

My concern is an early morning post that offered to provide 2 e-mail letters from my state representative, the dates of the letters, and the topics covered in the letters. The different topics had links to more information and resources. I also provided information on another e-mail that provided information on grants, which is "free" money that does not have to be rpaid.

I don't know if this entry went through before I was kicked off and this is my concern.

These are hard times. Per the newspaper, the workforce is underfunded and there are multiple problems. The State Representative confirmed the problems. Per the internet the April checks are going to be delayed and delayed again.
Without jobs non-retired people have to rely on credit cards and savings (plus unemployment if they can get it through the system) to pay for groceries, utilities, and phones.

There is enough information in my entry to track down the Representative and request copies of the letters and links. I would like someone to check into this and see if it was done or can be done. The whole world is a mess and everyone needs help.

I don't want to be a part of Nextdoor Network. There are two sides to a story and both sides should be given an opportunity to respond. I was not. I don't want these people in my life and wish they were not in my neighborhood. I sent more on my complaint today, illustrating what "mean" is and I am talking low level 1 Mean. This listserve, designed to help, has now brought out the worst in me.

The guy that asked for help didn't hurt me and he doesn't deserve to be denied information that may help him. You can rest assured I do not want back on Nextdoor and hope I am never in a position where I don't want to do the "right thing" and help a neighbor because I now hate unknown neighbors and their little neighborhood online pettiness.

Nextdoor my comment removed because someone else didn't think I was politically correct

I disagreed with someone that calling the new virus "Chinese" flu was racist. I pointed out that no one is called anti-German when using the words German Measles, no one called people out for the "Asian" flu. The respondent said times have changed. She also said that the words "German measles " were never used, that people called it "Rubella". I said sorry. but my father was a physician and called it German measles. I said it was tantamount to people telling you that you were bigoted against birds if you used the words "Avian flu". She said it WAS bigotry. I pointed out that all the media referred to the flu as the Chinese flu and then they backtracked. She said they realized they had made a mistake. I said no, they did not make a mistake, but were simply pandering to political correctness. She complained to next-door. com and my comment was removed. I have now left the site altogether. I refuse to bend to political correctness to make others happy.

Agree. It isn't racist. It's the truth that the virus originally came from China or potentially from the lab in China.

People have become looney-tunes over "political correctness." The world is so hateful as Bible says will be last of last days. It's very apparent by their intolerance that their self-righteousness is the same as those who will be the judges and juries. See 1st & 2nd Thessalonians about the last of last days. I suppose I'll be censored for mentioning the Bible. So be it. I know where I'm going. As for the politically correct, Christ said "before chastising someone else, be sure to pull the log out of your own eye..."

These are neighbors no one wants. They obsess over everything which is actually nothing. I also grew up hearing the term "German measles." By the way, my dad was a WW2 vet and served in the European Theater which includes...GERMANY. They had nicknames for the Germans also, and I don't blame them as the Germans were the enemy. The person who decided to encroach upon your right to free speech is going to have it done to her one day soon. People who are so insecure as to be passing judgment on everyone else need to have some real hardships in life. I definitely respect your refusal to bend to her Nazi style of living in the 21st century.

Nextdoor discussion thread

discussion about new open facility in Kent WA which converted a motel into a treatment center for King County housing drug addicts, whose quarantine is voluntary. Someone may have complained as she threatened to and now none of us have a platform to discuss this. This program has been opposed by the city of kent mayor and city council. Who has set you up to take a side in this debate by shutting it down?

Nextdoor leads and moderators are influenced by our city mayor

I am on Nextdoor in Irvine, California. Christina Shea is our city Mayor and has influence over the Leads in my neighborhood. Specifically, Kriste Bennett and Diana Romo. I have sent messages to both of them regarding this Mayor's conduct and they refuse to do anything. Myself and others have been verbally attacked by this woman. When she posts lies, she is confronted by citizens in the community. Some even provide an attachment of a document or a link to support the fact that she is not telling the truth. For the most part, we are civil but it is getting out of hand with her. Rather than address the issues that people have, she calls them out as belonging to a certain group (which is not the case with me), shames them by saying they are not telling the truth and they have an agenda. She never says what that "agenda" is or why she says they are not telling the truth. She threatened to go to the Chief of Police for an article that was posted in the LA Times that said SHE threatened the Chief of Police and the entire Irvine Police Department. So she threatens someone on Nextdoor, who was just calling her out on yet another lie, for posting an article where she threatens the same people she is going to report this person to. And this is typical of her responses like saying she will report this to the proper authorities, etc. and demands the person to stop posting. People are being suspended for remarks that are less damaging then what she says, yet she never goes away. We only have the two Leads I mentioned. I applied to be a Lead and many other people did as well. We were all turned down. It seems she controls this...not sure how but she has a lot of influence in the community because people are afraid of what she is capable of. We are a Charter City so she controls EVERYTHING and that includes the Police Department. I am asking for your help to get a message to this Mayor who believes she can do and say whatever she wants and not be held accountable!

Thank You!

Nextdoor regaining access after suspension

Complaint is with Nextdoor
In December I was suspended until Jan 20, 2020. This is Jan 22, 2020 and still cannot log back in. This should be an automatic lifting of the suspension once the time has elapsed. The system take me back to the first screen as soon as I press the "Contnue to Nextdoor".

Your allowance for for disagreement is very biased so I will no longer attempt to voice an opinion politically.

Nextdoor a person scammed me of £200

I have just been scammed. I paid a next door person who I was buying a phone from and I sent him the money and he has disappeared. Can I track him down from this app at all? How do you verify that people are in fact your neighbours and not people scamming and passing through? Why does it ask me to make this complaint 359
Characters otherwise it won't be seen? ?

Nextdoor member and lead person of next door, mary troup

Mary Troup shows as a lead person. She posted a chat string regarding proper titles to use when describing others, referencing it to the Next Door TOS. I responded, using her own ethnic references stating that I felt some were appropriate while I agreed that direct name calling was inappropriate. She did not like that my opinion was different then hers, apparently reported me and my comment was removed and then I was also banned for 3 days after the fact. I would like an explanation of this as I did not call anyone names or use derogatory terms, all I did was 'partially' disagree with her and if this is in regards to specific terms used, like AA and oriental, as she stated in her post, I was repeating her own words and not using them in a derogatory manner so I feel this ban and removing my comment was wrong and possibly a full on power trip by Mary Troup. I was not given specifics on why my comment was removed nor why I was given a 3 day ban except a general note that I have violated TOS but that is incorrect. I did not. I was responding to her, using her own words so if those are unacceptable, they should also be unacceptable for your lead person, yet, I still see her in there.
At the base of my complaint I would like specific reasons why my comment was removed and why I was banned for 3 days all over one comment and why it is ok for her and others but somehow not for me when I was not trying to be rude or mean in any way but just disagreeing with her on her idea of what the TOS means?
I also looked up information based on politically correct terms that are acceptable and not listed as derogatory terms and the term AA and oriental is still considered acceptable terms. The original post of Mary Troup is attached along with my response that was removed and apparently the reason I was banned for 3 days. 5 images in total. I would like an explanation please about why I was singled out as wrong when she is the one who brought up the terms and the comment in the first place?

Nextdoor censorship

A person by the name of Marcia Lickei is on our local nextdoor network and is repeatedly violating rules and yet she is allowed to continue posting. Here are but a few of her inappropriate post: using images of piles of feces when referring to a group of people, calling people's posts "BS", repeatedly calling people and their posts "hysterical". She also made a post that named an individual by name and it was false (claimed the person was fired from their last job which was false)This is only a few, the list is huge.

While she is allowed to continue posting she has gotten several people's accounts suspended for very little justification. One apparent reason is the people don't agree with her. Her violations are so numerous with no account suspensions it is apparent she has a connection with someone at nextdoor support. Complaints filed with nextdoor support appear to fall on deaf ears. Something must be done with this situation. One-sided censorship is unacceptable. I've talked to many people here in Green Valley & they are shocked at how this is being handled by Nextdoor.

This is the third time I've been suspended for a month. This time I was not even provided an opportunity to have my post reviewed. The post is a political discussion board and as such have advised people to mute or block me on this board or remove me from this one board. This board is run by a group of individuals that have an agenda that includes banning anyone they believe does not disagree with their opinion or point of view. I've blocked many people on the board, however, the moderators use the people that are not blocked to make derisive comments. This board should be shut down if it cannot act in compliance with its own guidelines. I feel that I've been targeted as an older person with a true moral compass. This is wrong, and I will continue to pursue every avenue to present this unjust social abuse.

Nextdoor account being disabled

I am very upset I have been on the nextdoor app for five years and I am not pleased I have a business account on nextdoor but my problem is when I post any sort of questions I get banned or suspended or anything. I would like the opportunity to get back on there. This is not fair at all.
Plus I have not posted anything wrong and I emailed asking for them to send me emails of people complaining and they can't even do that . I honestly think someone is jealous and trying to get revenge of me or something. That's ok I hired a lawyer and I will take this to higher action.

Nextdoor disabled account

I was invited to your app... I was only posting occasionally about an ongoing problem on my road. Many people didn't like it, so they reported me multiple times and were ganging up on me calling me crazy, saying I'm on drugs or I'm paranoid... They recently blocked me for 4 days.. I just signed back on and posted a few quick videos of what's happening on Pennsylvania Avenue, especially in front of my home.. They reported me again, even though I said very little.. I screenshot the people's comments.. One guy encouraging people to blow their horns in front of my home.. I reported him and I got kicked off again for 30 days. This is a clear violation of my civil rights.. I have reported this situation as well. I really dont understand how I was removed for showing the truth, backing up what I say with video evidence.. Yet, I'm kicked off.. Quite a few people were supporting me.. I won't let this go.. I would hope that you do the right thing. Thank you..

Nextdoor censorship and regulating speech of americans

Nextdoor is Censoring Speech of anybody they disagree with, especially if they Do Not tow the Liberal line...

They say it is from complaints but recently it has become obvious to me that they Censor anyone "they" want, not just from so called complaints

This is something you would expect from a communist country not America

Question is, what can be done if anything? Litigation, negative Publicity? Any Ideas or suggestions?

We all are busy and probably have better things to do, but progressive companies shredding the 1st Amendment cannot stand... sometimes the fights starts in your own neighborhood

Nextdoor abussive and threanting remarks toward the military and the faa.

Someone needs to investigate the Nextdoor site in zip code 75080. Malicious and fabricated comments as well as attempts to override the FAA on Helicopters has been committed. Steve Jones as well as several others have been involved. The site involves Heights Park Greenwood hills and Northrich. Children and their parents have been accused of hiring private helicopters to transport them to school. And I'm encouraging you to investigate this area. It's out out control!

Nextdoor next door lead and censorship

I checked the Nextdoor Guidelines for posting before I responded to a Nextdoor Post in Steeplechase, Houston, TX with factual data regarding our HOA dues and fees. Many of our neighbors are unaware our Board Members do not comply with Texas Property Code Laws and our annual increases are imposed without the proper notification. It was not uncivil, unneighborly or offensive, but FACTUAL. It wasn't a safety issue, illegal or not relevant. All data posted was available on public websites ALREADY in the public domain. A Board Member's wife was part of the communication and she was unhappy the information was shared. I would appreciate a response, as censorship of posts meeting guidelines is the actual threat to the public and our democracy.

Nextdoor usage

Hi.Someones decided to delete the messages I'm posting. I ve received some rather nasty remarks from other nextdoor users and they're still allowed to use the site but not me. I like everyone else should be able to express our own opinions if we so wish and I ve done so as I ve been concerned about other nextdoor users but whether I've emailed something negative or positive someone s been deleting them all and I believe that my rights are being abused and taken away from me and I ve had negative and positive remarks from other nextdoor users which of course is obvious I'd receive which is perfectly acceptable and normal. I believe the person whose responsible for interfering with what I put onto the site is a man from Weoley Castle in Bham UK name Rupert Rid. I don't know this person and have never met or seen him before but I d like to be able to still use the site as I've made some friends by using the site and its the only way I have of staying in touch with the outside world and keeping in touch and getting to know the people around me as I'm using a wheelchair and hardly ever go out because I m severely disabled so please could you help me. I don't believe I'm being treated fairly and I ve even had to explain to a few of the nextdoor users that I use a wheelchair and hardly get out which I really shouldn't have had to do. I'd appreciate your cooperation. Thanks.Signed Ms Drayford

I completely understand! My account was temporarily suspended. I took my conversation to the private message option with this person. She cursed and even threatened me and I reported HER. I was guilty of prolonging a conversation with a not so nice person, but there were NO consequences for HER at all.
I feel like Nextdoor.com mimics the behavior of a dictatorship and you are limited as to how you can contact them.
If rules and policies are to be followed, they should be across the board. I have seen countless times where posts are way out of line, yet there are no consequences.

Hi honey. Thanks for getting in touch .If you're trying to message someone privately but it gets put up all over the nextdoor site then things can get nasty can't they and on the nextdoor site it seems that there's a chance of someone interfering and then somehow banning you from using the site. It's understandable that there's gonna be all kinds of remarks that people are going to make whether negative or positive but it's completely unfair when it's not all of the people being banned from the site who have made so called unacceptable comments. It shouldn't matter what the comments are about we have a right to express our opinions. Were all different and that's the way the world is and were not all gonna agree on somethings. Even when I ve sent positive messages this person whose chose to interfere still stopped my messages. He obviously didn't even bother reading them. He just saw me as a bad person and took it upon himself that it was up to him to ban me from the site and hes just another nextdoor user. I'm not aware of him stopping anyone else from using the site because of some message that they posted. Its probably not a site worth bothering with. They haven't emailed me with any message telling me that I can still use the site which would have been helpful wouldn't it. I just thought I'd give it a go because it s to do with your local neighbourhood but maybe I should broaden my horizons and get to know people further afield and maybe they won't be so judgemental and argumentative and hopefully they ll have a better sense of humor as happy Halloween hun😀😀👍🧘‍♀️🦇🧟‍♂️👻🎃♿
