Nextdoor nextdoor.com

August 3, 2019 I was deleted from my neighborhood ND account. This social media site has allowed the leads (the local people who regulate the account) in my community, who are part of the specific group in this community to allow their friends and committee members to attack, harass and abuse other members of this community who make statements they do not like about the community or their members. Last year a community wide campaign started by a group of residents upset about an action by that board. This group ran a petition campaign under a slogan of " A voice, a choice and a vote". Seems that even though our state laws call for a democracy of majority rule this community ignores that and created an autocratic rule society. Three members of this group or selected and vetted by this group took the board who campaign guaranteeing transparency and giving the membership their rights back. But after being seated, I noticed the leader of this group was attacking two women who had posted a comment he did not like. So I reported it and nothing happened. He kept going after them. Which meant the leads did not agree to take it down. So I looked up who the leads were three, two from this group and one unrelated to my knowledge. At ND two leads must agreed to delete something, I am told. When I realized what was going on I went around these local leads to the Help Desk and pointed out the remarks to them, they reviewed them and immediately took them down. Next Door does not police their leads. Having local leads that are bias for or against and who post attacks of members themselves is wrong. When I stood up against the leads the other day I was blocked and deleted from the site. So now they can bully other members into submission, including elderly members who have become fearful of their attacks. And about that transparency and rights they promised, well they did not tell us prior to the last board meeting that they were voting on changing the communities bulk cable provider, until we showed up at the board meeting and three members voted to select another company without any input or poll or vote on this matter from the other 552 owners in this community. So I spoke up along with others who were outraged and many of their posts were deleted by these leads also. ND has, in my opinion most likely unknowingly, allowed this group- now to control this community.

Nextdoor name change/religion

Nextdoor deactivated my account without notice. I have to reach out to them because i keep getting error message .I was then sent a email to that I maybe using a name other than my real name and was asked to reply back with my first and last name giving permission to update the system activate the account .I have sent several emails gave permission and the account is still deactivated.

How long does it take to get a reponds from you? I sent a copy of my CC Card with the number hidden.I also gave permission to reactivate my account

What I dont understand is nextdoor now whats ID however was is asked for upon opening up an account? Nextdoor also mention pictures well Im not sure who runs this site however most members have blank photos none at all .

I am offended that you would ask for my identity just by being a women of god and also given the name pepper by my close friends and love ones

Your site send out messages about new members asking that (we) members confirm the member .Do you really expect or think just because we live in the same area that we know one a other that is the most disturbing question to ask anyone. That is the leads job to confirm. There is not one person on your site I know and nor do they know me so how can they confirm who I am REALLY!

Nexdoor site is also very contradicting

Why would I be allowed to update my name as it stated on your site not mine how to update or change your name but yet when I made my change it became an issue
Why ? Are you telling me a person name has to be approved by the site or member or members who made the report ? So if a person gets a legal name change to peanut butter & Jelly you are going to disrespect my name just because its not what you consider THE NORM
This is unacceptable, unconstitutional and unethical. This company has failed tremendously on so many levels.

Nextdoor online libel, threats reported to police on a local nextdoor.com community forum

Relates to Nextdoor, Walton-on-Thames and surrounding areas group. I put up a post seeking help from vigilant neighbours about a local cocaine problem which the police are struggling to contain without more information to act on. The result was vile trolling, online libel (Facebook libel applies to any public forum) and threats by some weird man to come and retrieve his slippers from under my bed, having made it clear in the thread he knows what I look like and where I live. I've been told by the person who fired him that he has issues and has behaved in a stalking way in the past, he warned me to call the police and to be vigilant. The name-calling and abuse in this thread is unacceptable, harassment and libellous by UK standards. It seems some people believe that outside of Facebook they can ignore the law. I intend to sue the person responsible civilly for libel and raise some press coverage about the danger of using Nextdoor. It's too easy for people to find out where you live and potentially do you harm. This is a serious matter and I expect you to take it seriously.

Nextdoor nextdoor: a bully’s best friend

We have a problem with dogs running loose in my neighborhood. We have leash laws in my city and loose dogs are also forbidden by our HOA bylaws. However, many neighbors do not comply, which makes it impossible to walk my two small dogs. Several weeks ago we were harassed on a walk by a large dog wearing a collar but no tags. Two strangers came by and intervened which is how I was able to get my dogs home. I took a picture of the dog and put it on NextDoor. I said they dogs get loose accidentally but that since this dog had no identification the owner was irresponsible and that I will now go out and get some legal non-lethal protection for myself. The dog's owner responded publicly and called me names like "idiot" and "snowflake" and said that I had better not walk down her street. I showed the conversation to my HOA who suggested that I file a police report. In the meantime, NextDoor blocked my account without telling me. When I inquired why, they said that I "violated community guidelines" and could not be unblocked until I agreed to comply with them. I asked them to please identify which guidelines I violated since I had read them carefully and could not see where I had violated any of the standards. They replied that I was posting about a "personal dispute" and not a neighborhood issue. I explained that loose dogs in the neighborhood IS a neighborhood issue, and that posting their pictures on NextDoor prevents neighbors from having to call the sheriff's office and/or animal control on their neighbors and helps neighbors reunite other neighbors with their dogs. Isn't this supposed to be part of NextDoor's mission, to foster good neighborly relationships? I also said that since they blocked me I could not see if the dog owner was making further threats towards me. Well, I guess actual logic is lost on the people at NextDoor, nor do they follow their own guidelines, since they have refused to unblock my account even when I stated twice that I would comply with the guidelines. This has now gone on over three weeks. In my case, they have empowered and rewarded a bully who broke the law and then made threats when confronted, by punishing and silencing the neighbor who complained.

They are doing the same thing to me. Blocked me - then said I was using a fake name. I've been on the site since 2014. And approved by the lead who is our HOA president. Certainly he knows my name since he sends the HOA bills to me! I was blocked because I upset a lead in another community, when the police grabbed his son and another kid who were shooting a gun behind my house. Now that man is harassing me, but I get suspended. Go figure.

Nextdoor leader

Our lead discriminates. A nextdoor participant can post their negative opinion about a contractor, fireworks, borough services, etc... We had a nextdoor participant post pictures and comment about two criminals shooting heroin in his driveway and our lead would remove comments about our disapproval of such outrageous behavior. He messaged me I should discuss this with my neighbors over a beer. One I don't drink and two is he encouraging drinking and driving? I think he is over bearing and removing the ability to express our opinion. I did not call names, curse or disparage any members. I did disapprove of the behavior and people trying to defend their drug use and actions.

Nextdoor neighborhood events

I posted about coyote problems in our neighborhood and was attacked by opponents of the issue who were extremely rude. I was doxxed by two users and accusations that were per se defamatory made about the place I lived.

I asked they be removed from the post or censured but got no response from the moderators.

7/19/19 *my* account was blocked with no warning or other notice.

Nextdoor account blocked for no good reason

My account was blocked without warning. Nextdoor violated its own guidelines by just turning the account off. No notice, no explanation, nothing. What sort of company violates their own policies. When I finally figured out and asked why it was terminated, I was given the reason that I had violated guidelines. I have no idea which guidelines as all a was given was a sample of a post from three weeks prior where a woman pm'd me foul, rotten, rude comments and I posted her pm to me then suggested we get back to the topic on hand. I was blocked for her rude, nasty comments? Oh, and if I agree to follow their Nextdoor guidelines then I might be reinstated, guidelines the company itself doesn't abide by...Ironically many of the friends I have that use next door were also blocked. All of us belong to a new conservative neighborhood group that we recently formed on Nextdoor. Suspicious much? Nextdoor is unprofessional and I can live without them and their biases.

Nextdoor unprofessional job

first bath to have new cabinets, schedule for monday, they rescheduled for friday for 11;30, started calling and texting at 12:30 he called and started yelling at me, arrived at 3:30 did not finish. The next morning I found my expensive vacuum missing in the garage, rewound cameras and say his employee putting my vac in the van, the owner was able to retreive. He had to repaint several doors, had to keep telling hims the doors were not square or flush, never did properly.
second bath, not on time, he had to remove a door moulding to get counter top in and damaged, I had to repair. I was not home late in the day and he demanded final payment from my wife before job was complete which frightened her, they had to repaint several doors, had to keep asking him to square and make doors flush, did not do properly. good luck if you hire!

Nextdoor racism and glitch in your system/app

Hello, I am writing to share my experience with dealing with a user who is inappropriate. I believe it is egregious that any body can send a complaint and be sent a message as if the were the guilty party automatically. Please contact me this is an unfair business practice and your system should be able to review threads in their totality before making a determination that a party is guilty of violating policy on the site. Yes- I contacted my lead to alert him of this user who has made more than one post about diversity and African Americans. He should be removed. Please contacts me [protected].

Nextdoor violations of their own terms of service (community guidelines)

safe haven for bullies, criminals, and harassment. I stood up/ cautioned when adviser posted to elderly or non tech savvy people. Adviser had my account suspended - for using nickname. I proved I was in compliance with exhaustive proof. Account restored. Shortly I posted after, a criminal preying on the elderly/poor again silenced me. They silence you without telling you, your account just stops working. They first told me that it was because of my nickname (it is a shortened version of my birth legal name), which I countered. They then admitted that the convicted criminal, a major crook who was prosecuted by the FBI and DOJ, was still in the community preying on people. Nextdoor said that it was shaming. How do you shame a criminal that is committing crimes in the community but has thin skin? After several attempts to explain that nextdoor has a whole section on crime and safety, where I posted the warning, they just stopped talking to me. They shelter the bullying of the people in our community speaking up about criinals and those who prey on the vulnerable, and allow the bullies and criminals to rule their wsite. The culture at NextDoor is that everyone is guilty if anyone says they are. It is then up to you to try to regain access. If it wasn't for the up to date real time crime alerts and community caring for each other, I wouldn't want to even belong to this arrogant, crime sheltering, anti-American website. I am going to file complaints with California's Attorney General and the FTC, and hope that this website goes out of business and is replaced by an alternative website that really does care about crime and safety and listens to law abiding people rather than crooks and bullies. This poorly run website censors, shelters bullies, and cares only about making money, not about their shoddy values or the fact that good people are being victimized while the hell raisers have free reign on the site. Maybe it is run by the Alt Right as a fundraiser. Regardless, they need to be shut down, the sooner the better.

100% true. And if the lead in the neighborhood is friendly with the criminals being reported you get bullied and discriminated against and they will not answer the customer support form. I reported a crime 5 other people confirmed and my account was deactivated. Been trying to get a response for the last week and being ignored which is against their own TOS. It is BS. THEIR PEOPLE ARE INEPT.

Nextdoor having to sign in all of a sudden and then not being able to after following instructions

All of a sudden, I am asked to sign in. I don't know what my password is and when I request a reset, it never works. Even got a Nextdoor signin postcard with a number. That didn't work either. I would like to delete this account and set up another one with a new password. Can't do that either. What good is this forum if you can't get in? It's annoying to get these messages and not be able to open them.

Please help me delete my account, step by step. I have to sign in and none of my passwords work. States there was an error establishing a message...try again. I have tried more than a dozen times. This was a very helpful forum in the past but now it has become annoying. I liked to keep up with my neighborhood and help my neighbors. What good is this if not able to access it?

Nextdoor someone reported my post, which was within company guidelines, and now I can't sign into nextdoor

About a week ago, I posted about the horrible traffic conditions where I live. These type posts have been posted numerous times before by others. For some reason, my post was removed and now I cannot sign onto Nextdoor. I don't understand why my post was removed, while so many others have posted similar content.

I want my account reinstated and a reason provided as to why my post was removed.

Thank you,

Katherine Vitale

Nextdoor nextdoor group

I had a gentleman come to my door and showed me the document I am providing a picture of. He wrote my house number and little map down because he wanted to find out where I lived and to show me what is being passed out on his street. I had no knowledge of this and I have no idea who is using my name to promote your group. Your group logo is on the bottom of the paper. I am located in Crestwood Mo.

Nextdoor Next door app

I posted many times and had conversations about an injured cat in my yard and at 73 years old and disabled the owner ignored my plea for help I was finally getting help after a year of begging as to who to call by other very upset neighbors when I was rudely taken off the app by someone I don't even know or ever spoke to. How is this allowed this woman even got my email which must have been shared by next door without my permission and told me she had me removed. Why is this treatment allowed I even asked whoever is running this app here in west haven connecticut and never received an answer please investigate what happened I think I at least deserve some expl how someone I never spoke to over the concern of this poor creature can do this maybe the wrong person was removed

Nextdoor nextdoor.com

This is written from the perspective of a Lead at ND - a former Lead. I was asked to be a Lead for ND last December 12th and I accepted. I'd been on the job for two and a half-months when I was unduluy attacked and cyber-bulied for having mentioned in a comment on a post I didn't create that Agenda 21 was responsible for bike installations suddenly appearing in San Francisco in many different neighborhoods, unasked for and unannounced. Commenters outside my neighborhood attacked me for "conspiracy theory, " for being a "racist, " for being stupid and ruining NextDoor.com for my single comment. Eight people from different neighborhoods joined in on repeated attacks.

My role as Lead allowed me to delete those comments that went against community guidelines but NextDoor would not allow me to report the individuals responsible for going against the community guidellines because these members were outside my neighborhood, thus giiving ND members outside my neighborhood the license to "bomb" me over and over again, trying to incite conflict, create public shaming and harassment -- with no protecttion offered by ND on this.

In fact, in order to obtain assistance from a specialist at ND, you have to email a specialist who takes up to 48 hours to respond. Based on my experience, the advice these specialists offer amounts to nil. One specialist named Chester actually wrote that all you can do as a Lead is to remind people of the guidelines, but "they usually resent you for reminding them." That's it? No help? Right -- no help!

Nextdoor lead

I was once again banned from Nextdoor Indianwood after being reinstated for guideline infractions. Our lead Brian Duffner sent another message to Nextdoor from a post prior to me being banned. I have contacted your site about this but have not got a straight answer. My post that was reported said something to the effect "well got another 2 posts removed" Look at the date on the post. A lot of people in our community are leaving because of him. He has harassed my wife and others. CAN a supervisor or manager look into this please

Please respond immediately. I only have 25 days left to respond to this complaint!

IF you have a problem with what is going on you need to contact Nextdoor directly - not voice your issues on a complaint site. It is easy to do and they respond quickly. They have Community Guidelines that are the rules and regulations of how Nextdoor operates. IF you do not read them and follow them then you do not know exactly how you should proceed in listing your husband's business correctly.

Nextdoor is a privately owned business - not a free-for-all like on Facebook and other sites. As a business, they have the right to have specific rules and regulations regarding the setup and use of Nextdoor. If any post infringes on or violates one of their Community Guidelines that have the right to remove it.

Do not blame Nextdoor if you did not read everything you needed to know before you posted your husband's business!

You are wrong about taking down a community listing, too That cannot occur unless there has been a violation regarding the Community Guidelines or someone has filed a complaint. Some business deals will cost money to place on Nextdoor. There is so much more - you must read everything they offer on the Nextdoor website.
