Needle & Shears Custom Decor Slipcover

I should have read all tge reviews before ordering.

After talking with several slipcover companies I selected Needles and Shears based on the fantastic service and response time in all my questions. They hold your hand every step of the way during the ordering process.

I was a bit taken back that payment was Zell or check only...that should have been the red flag for me to not order.

I places my order in March and it took 3 months to receive my cover. Though frustrated at the time when I received my product I was very happy...a bit surprised when I saw the made in Mexico tag sewn in the product. Was in love with my slipcover when I put it on my couch. I contacted them with a few questions before I followed their instructions before I washed it as instructed.

I explicitly followed their directions..

I didn't want anything to happen to my cover.

The cover unevenly shank to to point I couldn't even fit it on my sofa. I then rehashed it...

Stretched it out and managed to get it on though it didn't look nearly as beautiful as it was. After several ba k and fourth communication (with tremendous delays between their responses) they want almost as much as I originally paid for the cover to "repair it".

Once they have your money and you have a defective product their customer service goes out the window

DO NOT ORDER from this company unless you want to throw your money away.

Disappointed!

Desired outcome: Refund or body of slipcover replacement free of charge

Needle & Shears Custom Decor Slipcovers

Terrible experience -- unreliable measurement instructions, ill-fitting product, and hostile customer service. We ordered slip covers for two arm chairs and a sofa that came back way too large in the seat cushions, back cushions, and the in the overall length, while the arms and overall width of the slip covers were way too small. We contacted the company and they were extremely unhelpful right off the bat. They told us that our measurements were incorrect. After re-checking our measurements, we found that they were correct in all but the arm length where we were off by half an inch (however, the measurement instructions for this part of the arm were very misleading). The company offered to correct their error on the seat cushions only. They told us that the sofa measurement was 6 inches too short even though our problem with the sofa cover was that it was way too large. This made no sense and any attempts I made to clarify with them were flat-out ignored. They did not even address our other areas of concern. In each of their email responses to me thereafter they would only address the arm length, which I felt was a discrepancy on their measurement instructions. When I tried calling to discuss these other areas of concern a woman answered, screamed at me, then hung up. This was by far the worst customer service I've ever received and this is the very first review I have ever been compelled to write. I highly suggest not using this company.

Needle and Shears makes ill fitting covers and the costumer service is reprehensible. We ordered covers from them in Janurary and we received them in May the one cover ripped at the seems the day we put them on. They're initial solution was for us to take the to a local seamstress to have them repaired. When the second cover ripped later that week, they asked us to send photos of the damage. After three weeks with no response from them they finally asked us to send the back to them. They explained to us that the covers were made to the specifications that we gave them. They asked us to remeasure the sofas, using photos that were annotated. These measurements called for us to measure across the cushions rather than below cushions stated in the original pdfs sent to us as a measurement guide. This lead to a 3 inch discrepancy in size, despite measuring according to their instructions, they claimed that it was our problem and wanted to charge us and additional $350 to fix the issue. When my wife called to complain they were extremely rude, telling her that she is stupid and cant measure or follow directions. When she explained that she is a doctor, there response was "I hope your patients don't rely on you following instructions" and hung up on her. I have tried to call back several times with no response.

Needle & Shears Custom Decor Couch Slipcover

Do not purchase from this company.

I purchased a slipcover from this company in approximately November, 2014. The seat cushion arrived with frayed and severed welting. It had to be returned to the company for repair. It came back a second time with frayed wnad severed welting. I sent it back again, and this time, it was fixed.

A side pillow arrived with frayed and severed welting as well as a zipper that did not have a stop on the end, so when the zipper was closed, the pull fell off rendering the zipper unusable. This, too, the company re-made.

The two back cushions were too big. The company said that I had measured wrong which I had no way to prove, so I accepted their assessment and sent them the cushions and more money to repair the back cushions. I did not have a fully complete slipcover with cushions until February of 2015.

I have washed the slipcover three times in the past year in cold water and without using the dryer, as per instructions. Each time, the fabric has become more snagged and frayed.

I contacted the company the other day to report new frayed welting, poor construction and problems with the material. Needle and Shears was threatening to me. I will refrain from posting their remarks to me here (lucky for them). All and all I would say that the product is shoddy and the customer service is reprehensible.

Needle & Shears Custom Decor Custom chair slipcovers (2)

$588 total cost, paid in advance. Followed instructions for measurements very carefully and sent photos. Resultant Slipcovers do NOT fit. Contacted them, they asked for re-measure. Remeasured at their request (measurements were the same as original) Now they will not respond. I am stuck with a product I cannot use and apparently, by their refusal to respond, they are not willing to repair nor refund.

Needle & Shears Custom Decor Ripoff and a Sham Company

I sent my measurements in to have a slipcover made for a chair at the first part of April, 2013. It took until the first of August to get my slipcover. The company was unresponsive to my emails and voice mails (no one ever answers the phone during their business hours). Finally when I made threats, they sent my slipcover. The rare times they would respond was always with excuses about being a custom product. I've had slipcovers made for other pieces by custom upholstery folks and it took less than half the time Needle and Sheers took. The slipcover appeared to be well made but had some design and fit flaws and the seat cushion had small black dots on it. The weirdest thing was they didn't do a front facing piece so the dart was oddly long and opened up and looked terrible. I sent them photos of the problems and they issued a return merchandise. That was more than a month ago. Once again I cannot get a return phone call or email to find out where my slipcover is. 6 1/2 months later, I still don't have a slipcover. I'm not sure who wrote these glowing reviews but I checked, after I had so much trouble, and many others have made complaints about their very poor customer service and the SLOOOOOOW delivery time. Save your money and purchase slipcovers from a reputable company.

Needle & Shears Custom Decor Failure to refund money/poor business practices

This company requires a deposit, and then charges the remaining bill when the final order is placed. However, it turns out they did not have the product I ordered and were not able to get it. They now owe me a refund of several hundred dollars and have since October of 2010. Complaints placed with both the Better Business Bureau in Laredo and the State Attorney General's Office failed to produce results. The company claims it will make restitution but has not done so and does not respond to inquiries. I strongly urge consumers to avoid this company.

Needle & Shears Custom Decor Will not send refund

I ordered and paid for a slipcover in August 2010. In September 2010 i received an email from the company saying they were getting ready to cut the fabric. In December 2010 I received an email saying they didn't have enough fabric and wanted to substitute another fabric at no additional cost. I relied to the email saying I did not want another fabric and that I wanted a refund. I have called and emailed them several times and no one will get back to me about the status of my refund. I actually talked with someone last week who said he would get back to me asap but to no avail. My order # is 1035 and my refund should be $354.00. I have all the paper work and correspondance with the company. It has been over 6 months now since I placed the order.
