Nationwide Mutual Insurance Travel Insurance, approved claim payment delayed

We used Nationwide to provive insurance cover for a cruise. A medical emergency required cancellation of that cruise. A claim was filed and approved (actually, we were informed that our claim was one of the most complete ever received). When we followed up about payment, we were advised that it would be delayed because they would only cut a certain number of checks at the amount of our claim would be cut in a month, thus we had to wait. Still no payment as of today!

Desired outcome: Pay the claim promptly!

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Claim number 730155-gn

This claim was filed approximately one month ago. A 3rd party inspection of the damage was completed approximately 2 weeks ago. I have received absolutely no communication from Nationwide regarding this claim. I have left messages with the claims adjuster, Brandon McDonald. Mr. McDonald will not return my calls and will not communicate with me. The non-responsiveness is unreasonable and completely unacceptable. The property is currently in probate and I have spoken with the estate attorney. If we do not get resolution to this claim immediately, we will be forced to initiate action against Nationwide Insurance as the property has been ordered to be sold by probate court and the inactions of Nationwide will need to be reported to the courts as reason for not complying with the court order.

Desired outcome: Claim settled immediately.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Nationwide homeowners

I recently noticed some soft spots in two rooms of my home and mold in the hallway. I called Nationwide and they sent an adjuster to see my damage. The adjuster left me with the understanding that the issues I was having would be covered. Two days later nationwide called to say they would not be covering any of my issues. Saying the house was old and this was not caused by anything they covered. My policy says I have mold coverage and collapse coverage. They knew it was an old house when they insured it and made no mention that it could have issues they would not be able to cover. A coworker had a similar problem with his floors and his insurance company (Farm Bureau) covered it on two different occasions. When I told the agent "I guess you found a way to get out of this" he replied "well yes". He said MS has high humidity, and they cant cover it because of that. Sept, 26 2022.

Update Nationwide sent an inspector out to look at my home. Now instead of Nationwide paying anything on my home, they tell me I have approximately 60 days to repair a laundry list of things or they will drop my coverage. I am retired on a fixed income, with COPD and RA. There is no way I can do all the repairs myself or afford to pay someone else to do them. Looks like they are just going to take the money I have paid them in years of premiums and walk away. thank you Nationwide for being on your side and not your customers.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Claim processing against nationwide insured

I have a claim in process with Nationwide. I was hit by their driver who was drunk at the time of the accident. We had to wait for the police report to process, and then NW gave the driver a week to respond before processing. This process took 3 weeks and is understandable. When that period was up, I was told that the injury and damage and rental would be covered. The small claim for medical was handled right then by the bodily injury specialist. He also requested a rental number so I could get a car. That was 12 days ago and it still has not processed. It has been over a month since the accident and I still don't have a rental or decision on our car repairs. 12 days ago my claim was handed over to the auto claim specialist, and I have not heard from her. I know she has been in touch with the body shop, but she has not returned even one of my emails or calls about getting me in a rental or updating me on what I should expect, or how things are going. I haven't even received acknowledgments from her that she is working on the claim. Nothing. If a rental number is still processing, why? Why have I been without a vehicle for over a month. The bodily injury specialist told me the rental fees and uber fees I have accumulated will be reimbursed, but that it needs to be handled with the auto specialist. Understandable, but I can't continue to pay for rentals out of pocket in the hope that they are going to cover it. I can even understand if the auto claim specialist is overworked, but to not even acknowledge me, and at the very least get me into a car is not acceptable. I'm a single mom with three kids, and aunt in the hospital and a loved one dealing with chemo treatments that I am supposed to be helping with, and I can't get to where I need to be. Nationwide has dropped the ball. The first agent was fantastic, helpful and understanding. The second has been irresponsible.

Desired outcome: A rental, acknowledgement, reimbursement for car fees, our vehicle to be fixed and returned.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Billing of Cancel Insurance

I was initially quoted a premium price per month of $135.00 by SELECTQUOTE AUTO & HOME INS. of Overland Park, KS, when I received the premium notice the amount was $145.56. Which I paid for several months. When I received my renewal notice the premium was stated to be $291.20 for July 15, 2022. On July 5, 2022 I received a payment notification for $311.20.

I discuss these issues several times with several different customer service people and they give me NO satisfactory reason's for the higher increase.

As of this date August 09, 2022 I received a payment notice of $404.17.

With notions of "Unfortunately, the premiums you paid did not completely

cover the entire time you were insured April 08, 2022-August 1,2022.

I PAID THE PREMIUM AMOUNT BILLED TO ME FULLY AS SENT AND OR RECEIVED, I TOTAL DISPUTE OWEING ANY OTHER AMOUNT.

Desired outcome: Nothing owed. I dispute owing any amount

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Claims won’t pay for damages done by their client

April 6, 2022 5:27 MDT a Nationwide client rear ended my car. He was following too close and wasn’t watching that traffic was slowing down. He lied about what happened to put the blame on me. The Nationwide Insurance agent said they’d have to go by the police report to know what to do. Now they say they don’t have to go by the report. They refuse to look at the truth. They refuse to take responsibility for their client’s mistake.

Desired outcome: I want them to pay for my car’s repairs. I want them to look at the truth, there’s a police report for a reason.

On 10-19-2020 I bought a policy paid them 357.83.2 days later I found out if I did not sign up for smart ride program that my premuinm would go up quite a bit so at that time I canacelled the policy was told I would receive a refund in 5 to 7 business days so I waited and nothing so I then called back then I was told because it was new business it would take longer whitch makes no sense to me they should have known it was new business so so then was told that I would get it between the nov 5 2020 and nov 9 2020 so I again I waited now still nothing so once again I called back now they are telling me between the nov 9 and nov 17 this is in sane I just want my money that they owe me seems to just be no clear cut answers so I will be calling tdi to complain policy # 7842j200899

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Billing

I have had Nationwide insurance for the past 2 years.
The first year I paid for the insurance using my agent over the phone. Th policy and billing followed.
Second year didn't receive a bill or policy in the mail. Nation wide added a late fee when the bill arrived late. I spoke with my agent who made sure I was set up for paper billing. My agent sent me a copy of the bill and policy. I paid the bill when Nationwide waived the late fee.

Third year. No paper billing, no email from Nationwide. The agent called nationwide and they send me a copy of the bill via email and policy. 2 days later I receive a second bill and late fee. I told my agent to cancel nationwide and find me a new company.

8/29 dated bill (PAPER) I just received a 30 bill from a collection agency. No communication after my insurance was cancelled.

Nationwide's response:
We sent the policy and bill by mail if we don;t hear from the customer we ASSUME they received it. And I have never received bill of policy from nationwide only emails when I contacted my agent.

This is one very messed up company.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Will not settle my claim

On July 17th 2020 around 7 pm. A tree trimmer truck hit my mailbox. I seen him do it and was out the door so he stopped. I said to him you hit my mail box. He said are you sure? Yes you need to provide insurance info. He said I do not know driver of truck. The owner of the company came down refused to give info also. So I had to call the Miami County Sheriff to get info. A report is filed with the Miami County Sheriffs. Can get info from them.
I contacted the company that insured them with Nationwide. Company name is Brian Grimors Insurance. called them at the following no. [protected]. They said here is the info you need call you.insurer.
The company name isJesse Lemester Tree Care [protected]. Said Licensed and Bonded. The driver of truck name is
Daniel Stevens. Only got the info from the sheriff. The driver was high as a kite. He and another worker were observed fighting in the middle of the street while trimming trees on street of residence.
I called Nationwide as soon as got your info. Finally after saying what I wanted got another number to call and did so. I have placed several calls with the person assigned to my claim. In her message said would respond in 24 hours to call. I am still waiting. Her number is [protected].
I need my mailbox fixed. Every things need replaced. My neighbor fixed the post so could get mail. But a good wind would knock it down. I am on a fixed income and have to have someone else do the work. I do not want to drive to town to get my mail.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance auto insurance - uninsured motorist premium

I recently had to go through a claim on my uninsured motorist policy. The claim number was 359218-GJ. An uninsured motorist was at fault in a wreck I was involved in. Unfortunately this happened right before we were to go on vacation. We did not have rental car coverage, and my car was not in shape to take on a very long road trip. The representative my husband was talking to made it sound as if, as long as all expenses fell under the $25, 000.00 coverage limit, we would be reimbursed for the rental car, so we went ahead and did the rental. Now we are getting an entirely different answer that it only covers property damage. Had we been told that from the beginning we might have went a different route. Instead, we are out over $900 in an incident that is not our fault, due to being misled by a Nationwide rep.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance how i've been treated throughout my policy

well I've report several incidents that accrued and I was and had been missed lead .my car had some damaged that I had been talked cruel that I thought should have been tooking in consideration. Regardless the law. I had several email misleading. that this last none was my fault had document to prove one I had a passenger inside and me .to one point was told by one that all insurance work to gather so each time I tried to get my point across of I pay my insurance I have a rights to at the time of paying cash of in the state of south Carolina. Its basic treated me like you all was giving me I had nothing to protect myself and it was all right every one to do as they fill. u no I cant under stand myself how I've had insurance in my early life. But I've been in out due to the unreal of treatment .from unprofessionally I do how and I wont to get. How I feel very violated harass treatment.to what real reality.humiliated breach oh of trust. most of the photo are in there files witness.ive been forced to let my care due to the harshness of I could trust It was blow .but to know I will seek justice the cruel childish play immoral itits misunderstood.to threw someone underbus.i was threw about good at paying bills as joke. my first was my damages while sitting in car. had pic and police came they he this and thought I was to get some took to the apparel and missed again one came to my job looked.all this was know none of me.i understand policy again there have been several of unfairness that has trried to push .I was fraud and played deprive heard attorney says that things like this been played .be me.. its has falling and broken my life for the love of some one taking from some that no do struggle a singl but has it hard but know what its like .to be be but to work hard for yours. a try to be law bidding citizen equal opportunity.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance home owners

So an asjuster who came down from Michigan to pa. Due to the high lever of wind damage in berks with the last winter storm just gave me a big FU. I have been a life long nationwide wide customer, I spend thousands each year on auto, home, life and boat. He offered me 250 above my deductible of 500. To patch shingles because I'm 20 years in to 30 year shingles and I should expect that. That's [censored]. My upper roof is fine but the lower is lifting in multiple places on both sides of that lower roof. It should be replaced due to storm damage period. Nationwide Mutual Insurance homeowners insurance

I received a quote from Nationwide Insurance 9-11-2018

I agreed to the quote and wanted to confirm all details so that there would be no lapse in coverage starting 10-15-2018

After several conversations with Michelle at the Kari Ball insurance agency, she assured me the details were correct.

$352, 100 Monthly Payment Amount: $114.12

Next Payment Due Date: 11/15/2018

I agreed to the terms and Michelle assured me there would be no surprises and even negotiated a lower rate if I added another property. After starting coverage I receive a email in the middle of November stating that my property value was not correct and had to be increase to over $600.000 I was shocked and called

Michell and she said she would try to negotiate with Nationwide because that seemed excessive. I then get a email stating that the value would be $537, 865 to replace.

Hello:

Thank you for choosing Nationwide Insurance. A recent home inspection was completed on your

property. The replacement cost for your property has been calculated to be $690, 322. You are currently

insured for less than this amount, at $352, 100, which means you are not carrying enough coverage to replace your home in the event of a total loss. Nationwide requires that you be insured to proper reconstruction value. Thank you, Barbara Iverson Analyst Sales and Service Direct Processing

I then let Michelle know that I did not agree to those terms and quotes from all Insurance companies did not exceed $350, 000. I immediately cancelled autopay as soon as Michelle said she could do nothing to change the new terms. I then contact another insurance company and started coverage with them as soon as I

could 11-22-18 for $345, 000 Value of Property.

I then get a collection notice for $113.58 from Nationwide stating this is in collections for unpaid premiums. I am shocked that a company can quote a price and after you agree to that price they

double your premiums to reflect a value that is not even reasonable. I want to expose this Companies deceptive practices. I did everything in my power to prevent something like this and started more than a month before the policy would take effect. Nationwide waited till I paid the first premium to change

the terms and the value of the property. Nationwide had plenty of time before the policy became effective to let me know if there was any change needed and I would have cancelled with them before the first payment.

The collections is ludacris. How can a company represent the terms and then change them without informing the consumer that could happen even after the agreement was based solely on the original amount. I made a decision on that amount in comparing with other quotes. The goal posts are being changed in the middle of the game.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance claims

I have a 2014 SRT Viper that was vandalized or damaged by an unknown party. The vehicle was driven from Texas to California on August 25, 2018, at some point during that trip while the car was left unattended, I believe someone threw or poured sand in and near the oil filler spout. The vehicle completed the drive successfully to California and parked in a secured garage of my friend's house. The car stayed there securely until I returned on October 23when I attempted to start the car it would not start, so I contacted AAA to try to jump the battery, which was unsuccessful. I had the vehicle towed to A& C Performance in Temecula, CA where it was diagnosed that the engine was seized. After a complete tear down on the engine, it was diagnosed that sand had damaged the engine's internal components. I immediately contacted Nationwide to file a claim and gave all the information I described above to Mackenzie Hewitt. I was then contacted by Stephanie McClain who was the assigned appraiser. I gave her all the information that was requested and asked if any police report or possible video footage was needed, I was told that she would let me know if that was needed.
The next time I heard from Stephanie she explained that her manager Aaron was looking into the claim and he would be contacting myself and A&C Performance. After a few weeks, Stephanie called and said the claim was approved and she was waiting on the estimates to get them submitted. I was then informed by A&C performance that Aaron had called the owner Todd and was hoping to send over a check the following week.
The next point of contact was when I called Aaron to follow up on the payment and he explained to me that his supervisor - Pam had requested a 3rd party inspector to verify the cause of engine failure. I waited another 3 weeks to hear back from Aaron and have him explain that the claim was being denied because the inspection did not find evidence of sand. He then emailed me a copy of the report the inspectors had completed which contained fictitious information and were missing evidence and photos that were taken by A& C performance on the first inspection of the engine.
I believe that Aaron has taken an extreme amount of time and delayed this claim in order to provide a falsified inspection report and allow time-sensitive data to be lost, (any possible video footage that could have been used as evidence) He has shown an arrogant attitude to my loss and caused me both financial loss and anxiety that was unnecessary.
I am demanding that the claim is reopened to allow for proper investigation to be completed and a 3rd party inspection by an SRT Viper certified technician. I have researched the integrity of the inspectors that Aaron hired, and they have a high amount of reviews that state they are loyal to the company paying the bill and do not deliver accurate inspections.
I feel that this claim was denied without proper investigation and Aaron is responsible for inaccurate information and unnecessary time delays.

Nationwide is not on our side...They look for ways to deny claims. not to protect the customers in a time of trouble.
They collect your money...When something happen...you on your own...Business Faith business falls . I don't think its nationwide as a whole their some unfair people in their business. The adjusters and branch office is really causing nationwide to fall. The adjusters i 'm dealing making personal decision not following policy and guidelines. I ask corp. to investigate the matter still yet to here from them.They cover up a lot change my declaration. Would not let me know what my claim fall under kept changing claim file status. Sink holds was rule out cause they say Memphis don't have sink holds why i'm i paying for sink hold in my policy. Loss of use, collapse, sewer, foundation, Settling. Structural Damage from were and tear. what my policy falls under. Nationwide needs to investigate their employee and branch manager...The adjusters made my claim decision on a personal base, not policy cover and guidelines.Then change my declaration that been the same since 1999.Nationwide should protect and cover their customers when some happen and it with in the policy guidelines. its not personal its business. Asking corp. to view/look in to this matter. its been a lot of bad faith business practice. The adjusters think is a games. Nancy much [protected] and Kenneth Geist [protected]. Nationwide Mutual Insurance claim on homeowners policy

Over a year ago I was informed that my home in Idaho was burglarized . I was visiting my son in California and had been gone for 5 weeks or there about. I immediately got in my car and drove back to Idaho without stopping. When I got there it was dark. My house was in ruins. I had no rear doors or a window and my bedroom door was broken also . I finially fell asleep with gun in hand. The net day I was moved to a hotel. I was out in a room with one bed for myself and a friend and my dog.Jolie was my claim adjuster or the property. She called and said she would be in town very soon. When she arrived she told me that she would be sending a few days maybe 4 with me helping me inventory the missing and damaged items . I was a wreck. We met and a few hours later she told me that she was called away on an emergency and her supervisor would come down to help me with the claim and inventory. She called and asked if she could come down in like a week. I said no that was to long it would e better if she could come sooner she said she would try. Mean while I was told that I could start cleaning up. I felt so confused, My house was ruined my stuff stolen and still I had no doors on the rear of my house and a broken bedroom door. My safe was stolen with a lot of money in it and 2 handguns and a shotgun and an AR-15 and thousands f rounds of ammunition . Jolie asked me how long I would need to be in the hotel when I first got in there. I said two weeks I guess. I thought that while I was in the hotel Nationwide would be fixing my house but that did not happen instead the supervisor was an investigator and showed up with one of the local sheriffs . She was rude and questioned me and all of my eighbors and friends . I got phone callls and visits from them after she left telling me the things that she was sating t them. She was not investigating if I was involved. She told them I was and was trying to get them to agree with her. My neighbors and friends were upset at the things that she said and I felt horrible. I felt like I was being treated like I was a criminal and not a victim . I completely cooperated and even when she asked me for my cell phone records for a period of time I got them and also got the other two cell phones I had that she was unaware of and gave her all three. This entire time nothing happened . I finially got the adjuster Brice that took care of the damage to the structure come out . I showed him everything he took pictures nd it was 3 months before I got a check for just over 2, 000 dollars. And a list of items that it was to fix. There was over 70 % of the damage not even noted . He did not deny anything just ignored it even though he took pictures. I sent that estimate to a dozen contractors or more. All f them told me that they could not do the work that they were boooked up due to the 8 feet of snow the winter before. I had to leave Idaho because nothing was getting done since the investigator was called in and I was kicked out of the hotel because of the eclipse. I couldn't sleep barely at my house with no doors or window and no bedroom door and a pipe had burst and I could not use the water and had to shut it off. And I was so scared that they would come back and knew the guns and bullets nad I did not feel safe. I was so stressed and confused. When my son found out that the house was still messed u e told me to come back to stay with him. I was so tired from not being able to sleep and the stress and the anger about everything that was taken and what they did to my house and barn. I left and went to Boise to stay in a hotel before I drove back to california . I slept 10 hours got up and began my drive. I got to Winnamuca and was again falling asleep I pulled over and got another room it was only 2 in the afternoon . I fell asleep right away and woke up at 9 pm. I got some food and went back to sleep. I woke up at 5 am and got back on the road. I still did not make it back when I got to Bishop I ad to stop again and get a room and sleep. I had to spend three nights in different hotels on the way back due ot fatigue when I drove to my home I drive straight through. I dont want to make this to long but I have been treated poorly. I have all emails, all voice mails to proov what I am saying is true.As far as the property stolen. I received 2 or 3 checks for the ACV and was told that as I replaced the items I would be paid the difference . The replacement cost on a lot of the items was to low but I was told that if it cost more to replace a item I would get it whe I sent in the receipts . It was almost a year later when I had sent in over 100 receipts and realized I had not been reimbursed for any of them. Jolie ignored me ad the supervisor took forever to get back to me and than he just wanted my claim number. I finially got a check for just under 3, 000 and the receipts were for like 30, 000 and it did not cover any of the receipts I had been sending in for the last 10 months . Her is a recap of the issues.
1. I was denied additional living essences after I had paid out of my own pocket for 4 months or more. I was only paid for the 2 weeks and nothing after that. I still can not live in my home to this day.
2. I have only received about 3.000 dollars for the items replaced and the receipt sent in over the last 12 moths.
3. The cost to fix the structure was so grossly undervalued and only 20 percent of the work was on the estimate .

I am out of money becasue I have had to pay to live elsewhere becasue I can not live in my house. I am stressed out so much I cry all the time. I cant get any help. I called the department of insurance and I became so frustrated when I would ge the response from nationwide that they sent to DOI and thanI would have to responde with proof that they lied and this took so much time and would bring the stress back 10 folds. I have spent so much time just trying t get nationwide to honor there contrctoral obligations that I dont think I can d this anymore.

I have asked nationwide to come back to my house and walk through it with e again to get an estimate on everything. I dont know what to do. 3 contractors have told me that due to the age that it neeeds t come down and be rebuilt becasue the duster ignored the water damage that was visible under the house and since they did nothing it only got worst .

Nationwide has tried to blame me for the water damage. They said that it was due to me not having the heat on when it was freezing and that caused the pipe to freeeze and break. I had to remind them that this all happened in the middle of summer ad there was no chance that freezing weather caused it in the middle of summer. They also said that I did not keep from further damage happening. This is not true. I turned off the water to the property before I left.

I am hopping that this will reach someone that cares about me and my situation . I am in tears as I am writing this. I am so tired of fighting every one. This is not fair. I dont have a house to live in and I paid my insurance . Please contact me at
