National Football League [NFL] Leaking stories

Leaking stories goes back quite a while. One of the most famous leaks that was later proven false was Mort's 11 of NE's footballs were 2 psi over limit. Why only 4 of the Colts footballs were checked and Walt Anderson not remembering which gauge he used is another story.

Now, it's a story about Gruden sending an email to Allen about the head of the NFLPA. The NFL leaked it to the WSJ. After assembling the facts, it's a head scratcher. The NFL looked through 600, 000 emails looking for offensive/racial content. The NFL found the Gruden/Allen email. The NFL leaked it to the WSJ. Why not just banish Gruden? Why leak the story to the WSJ? It appears the only purpose was to create a media firestorm. Couldn't the NFL just be upfront and make an announcement or hold a press conference? You own NFL.COM and the NFL Network. Really shady stuff. The NFL should have just handled it themselves. Now, the storyline is will Gruden be fired? Come on! Gruden should have been fired as soon as the email was discovered by the NFL.

Well, now it's obvious what happened. The NFL used the media to do their dirty work. First, leak the racial email, then leak other offensive emails by Gruden. An organized hit job. Instead, of being upfront about things and saying Gruden isn't the type of person wanted in the NFL, they use the media to create a stir. Shameful because this action is so common. Be a coward and leak stuff.
All this brings up a question, how did the NFL get access to 600, 000 emails?

National Football League [NFL] Pitt/gb game 10/03/21

The touchdown Pitt had gotten on the blocked field goal attempt. Why was it not officially revise after the score. Replay didn't show any penalty. Refs need far more training.
The extra point after that series hits the upright but goes in. One ref signals good and the other just stood there looking at the other ref.

Desired outcome: More consistent ref calling.

National Football League [NFL] TV Networks

I'm tired of missing the first half of my team's game when it's scheduled the second game on Sunday. For some reason the TV Networks (FOX and CBS) think they need to show the finale of a game not even scheduled to be televised before switching to the game shown on their schedule. Therefore falsely advertising what as a consumer I am expecting to view.
Today 10/3/21, CBS had 2 games slotted back to back. The first game was KC Chiefs vs Philadelphia Eagles then the second game was Pittsburgh Steelers vs Green Bay Packers. The first game finished a little head of schedule so CBS took it upon themselves to televise the end of the Tennessee Titans vs NY Jets game (this game was not slotted to be televised in my area). This extra 'bonus' footage went into Overtime and CBS did not switch to the Pittsburgh Steelers vs Green Bay Packers game until it concluded. It was ridiculous that myself and thousands of other fans missed over a quarter of the game we were expecting.

Desired outcome: My desire is for the NFL to mandate the TV Networks carrying these game to actually televise what they promise.

National Football League [NFL] Missed calls failure to turn ball over

Today the Carolina Panthers were in a position to wear in a position to where there were 2 fumbles each time the ball was not overturned and the calls that were not made on holding inevitably led to yeah get to Carolina Panthers losing the game I really think that this game should be reevaluated and not even added as a viable game if possible

Desired outcome: Remove game from count

National Football League [NFL] Buf v Hou. CBS commentary

These announcers barely seem to be paying attention to the game! They don't discuss what is actually going on, more hyped on talking strategy and their own glory days then the touchdown the Bills just made!

Stop talking about nonsense and cover the dam game!

National Football League [NFL] Availability

Rams-Cardinals Norty Niners-Seahawks. Two critical games and neither one available to the real fans who cannot afford $100 a month for NFL or streaming. Fox has a stupid Xss rule about our local Fox station only being able to carry the early game many weeks. This is one of those weeks and both of these are late games. Perhaps we should change it to MFL, Money Football League. I am 80 years old and live on a social security check smaller than
most peoples mortgage payment. I also remember the 50-s and 60's, when
football was broadcast for the fans, not the dollars.

Desired outcome: Anything would be fine, but, nothing is more likely.

National Football League [NFL] Blatant failure by officials to penalize a defender for helmet to helmet contact against a defenseless quarterback

In tonight's panthers vs Texans game in the 4th quarter a defensive lineman clearly and unquestionably made forceful helmet to helmet contact with the quarterback and then pile drove the Texans quarterback with his helmet still forcefully pushed into the texan quarterback all the way to the ground and again making a forceful and deliberate head butt as they hit the ground. As per NFL rule "an opponent forcibly hits the quarterback's head or neck area with his helmet, facemask, forearm, or shoulder" "When in doubt about a roughness call or potentially dangerous tactic against the quarterback, the Referee should always call roughing the passer".. This STINKS of the smell of officials acting in a manor in which to affect the outcome of the game ie; fixing the game... THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE regardless of the NFL declaring itself as an "entertainment" venue rather than a professional sport of integrity and equality. As a 62 yr old male who as a child had Dallas cowboy players present my little league football teams championship trophies to,
I have been a loyal and proud fan of the league. However, with the appearance of becoming the equivalent of Vince McMahon's WWE predetermined outcome of scripted results is insulting and disgusting and leaves a bad taste in my mouth as to what was once the greatest team sport game there's ever been. If the league has even a drop of integrity its WWE mindset needs to change and return to the game once proudly known as the "Gridiron". I'm appalled that I even felt so compelled to speak up, but enough is enough. I worked for Orville Trask for 23 years, I'm 1, 000, 000% confident that the great men who built the foundation of greatness that propelled this sport into becoming the greatest game on earth would be rolling in their graves over the product thats being produced today. Bring back INTEGRITY!

Respectfully,
Mark S. Adamson

Desired outcome: response requested as well as a league announcement admonishing the poor officiating and what will be done to correct indiscretions such as what has become epidemic throughout the league

Mark S. Adamson, the part of your complaint referring to WWE and integrity made me smile. I've used the same comparison. Gambling is very popular but I wouldn't bet on NFL games because of the lack of integrity by the officials. When Walt Anderson is involved, that's another reason to avoid gambling on games. He's the ref who couldn't remember what football pressure gauge he used (wink, wink).

National Football League [NFL] On field rationale

There is hypocrisy in the NFL on two major issues which penalise the defense.
1. The illegal hands to the face. The running back can stiff arm a defensive player, shoving his hands directly into the face... No call. Defense does it... Penalty. Occasionally an offensive lineman will get the call against him, but if you are concerned about the hands to the face, penalise those that actually do it. That rule hypocrisy is brutal.
2. Hit to the head. Defensive guy lowers his head to tackle. If he makes contact with the head of another player... penalty. Makes sense, sort of. However, when the defensive player already has the lower head position and, again, the running back lowers his head to drive through the head of the defensive player... penalty on the defensive player. Hypocrisy again. This one can be solved by saying that the person with the ball cannot lower their head. You penalise the offensive player for lowering head in head to head contacts. You do this, you prevent tons of head on head injuries and preserve the health of the athletes. You also allow a better, safer tackle zone that includes the torso, where at present, the defensive guy needs to go to the knees (dangerous) to tackle a guy.

Desired outcome: Change hands to face rule to include players with the ball and penalise offense for lowering head in head to head collisions. As well, I would like a response to this.

National Football League [NFL] horrible referee call changing the entire game

Chargers/Cowboys. Ref called QB for Charger in the grasp and down when he very clearly was not. Had this call not been made, the Chargers were poised to get a touchdown. Call changed the entire game and essentially gave it to the Cowboys. Horrible horrible call.
I'm neither a Cowboys or Chargers fan. I'm a fan of a good hard fought NFL level game. Refs completely took all the enjoyment and fair play out of this game.

Desired outcome: Discipline/fire ref and publicly admit it was a mistake. Apologize to fans

National Football League [NFL] Getting out of market games

I live in the huntsville alabama area. I want to watch the Dallas cowboys. The game today against the chargers is not on my local channels. I have a couple of streaming platforms such as Hulu and paramount plus. The only way I can watch the cowboys game is through direct TV. However, I have been denied eligibility for streaming. I am NOT paying 300 dollars to install a satellite receiver. I am very upset that even though I am willing to pay to watch the game it is made impossible for me to.

Desired outcome: More options to watch

National Football League [NFL] National anthem

I figured i would give nfl one more chance to redeem itself. of course you can't help yourself/ trying to divide us more by playing a black national anthem. i thought the civil rights movement was all about equality and bringing people of all races together. maybe next season you will have black seating and white seating. i think you are all a bunch woke [censored]s. i don't care if direct tv provides free sunday ticket this year. as far as I'm concerned that is a waste of time on their part. i will never watch another game or buy an nfl licensed product again. way to ruin an american institution. fools.

National Football League [NFL] Black National Anthem

You have lost a life long fan when the NFL became political. The only venues we have where there is no political discourse is sports and you have ruined that. It's sad that such an organization has become mired in the current rhetoric of the day and has so easily caved to the woke crowd. NFL football is played by men but run by wishy, washy bureaucrats. Thank you.

National Football League [NFL] Officiating

Isn't it amzaing that the officials have hurt the Cleveland Browns yet again. This time with ejecting the Browns 2nd string Safety after a Chiefs coach pushed him and he responded. How many seasons will the NFL let the officials screw the Browns out of a win. I guess the Browns is a Racial name like the Indians? No, I don't think so. It sucks to be a Browns fan since the 1970s and see all of these [censored]ed up calls. When will it end? Never. The NFL wishes for them to never beat the good teams...Congrats. Have you seen all of the other bad calls in the past 20 years? Of course you have. There are good calls. There are bad calls. These not even close calls have hurt the browns for the past 20 years. What is up with this? Shame on YOU!

What a surprise, I can't even submit a legit complaint without it not working.

what about the Cardinals. They are having a bad year and the announcers on cbs suck. They are bias. They never ever have a positive thing to say. I am done watching CBS. I wish I could watch football but now I will never watch CBS. The announcers and the officials jump all over AZ but I watched a blatant hold by San Francisco today which ended in a San Fran touchdown. So both the officiating and announcing put the icing on the cake. It's sad because I love football but I m done. Maybe if others complain and not watch CBS know it all's there might be a change. I only hope. For now no more CBS football. I will watch fox at least they are honest.

I find it hard to believe, the officials didn’t make the call at the beginning. If you have a microphone, the persuasion is there. Tony Romo and Joe Buck, started in on Ronnie Harrison. Romo insisted Harrison stepped on Edwards-Helaire on purpose. On the contrary he was stepping over Edwards-Helaire, when Ronnie Harrison foot got caught up on Edwards-Helaire leg. I assume New York was listening to the commentators. The call came after everything was over and the commentators started their rant about the play. Romo (Mr. Know It All) and Aikman (I Can’t Remember) are the worst with their horrible opinions.

National Football League [NFL] Referees

Dear Rodger Goodell,

I would like to learn about filing a petition to make a difference with the awful calls the referees make in a game. If every call is not reviewable, then the referees should be fined for making blatant bad calls. It takes so much away from the teams and any momentum they gain. It can truly make a difference in the outcome of the game. Sunday is the best day of the week for my husband and me in the fall. I understand that real time decisions can be hard. That is why it should be reviewable….or have some sort of consequences for the referees. This game is not about them. It is about the teams and they referees need to get it together. So, if I could please have the information on how to file a petition to make a difference for the love of the game, I would greatly appreciate it.

Sincerely from a true NFL fan,

Kari Weidner

National Football League [NFL] National Anthem

We should not have the black anthem played at NFL football games. We are one Nation under God - One National Anthem - period. I will not watch any games this year until this stops. And I have a lot of family and friends who feel the same way. Stay out of politics. This will hurt your business. Why does the NFL have to give into this Wokeness. National Football League [NFL] Officials Microphone volumes

To those responsible, I believe the fans watching the nfl deserve an explanation as to why the officials microphones are broadcasting so low. Penalties and announcements are an integral part of the game. If the NFL or the officials unions are concerned about background comments or noises, then figure out another solution. You are removing a historic part of the game from its funding supporters, and it's wrong!

Respectfully, but frustrated

National Football League [NFL] One Country -One National Anthem

There is no such thing as a black national anthem and it insults our country. We are exceptional and strive as a nation to prove it every day.
Something "every" country should be doing.
NFL is just adding to and increasing the divide within this country by promoting a black national anthem.
This is a self serving stunt aimed at appeasing a small percentage of people, both black and white, who don't have the nads to work as one nation, one country as a people to improve everyone's standard of living.
It's a shame that your poor ratings trend haven't taught you that your fan base is not going to stand for disrespecting our country. I will check in next year to see if you learned a lesson.

A former NFL fan
