National Floors Direct scam artists!

It's been almost two months since my original installation date. The first time the installers showed up, the carpet was cut incorrectly. The second time, they had a 12 ft roll instead of a 15 ft. The supervisior, Ron, said that the carpet we ordered didnt' come in 15ft but that it would be fine and you wouldn't see any seams. The third visit, we had the 12 ft carpet installed but the seams were visible from down the hall. Eventually, after more than 6 missed appointments and 6 weeks later, we had to select a different carpet because they told us the carpet we wanted wasn't available. We were told, by Ron, we couldn't get our money back because we had already had carpet installed. The only options were less expensive carpet, so Mary Sumner of the Avon office told us we would be compensated $300 for the loss of time and the cheaper carpet. So we agreed and picked something else to be installed. Again, a few more missed appointments and the less expensive carpet was installed. But, we were never credited. Once again, placing multiple phone calls before we got an answer, we were told that we aren't getting any money back because we agreed to take the cheaper carpet. Mary said that if we hadn't accepted, we could have just gotten all of our money back.
So, 2 months after we ordered our "next day" carpet, we missed more than 6 days of work waiting for salespeople and installers, were over-charged on the original installation date, still don't have something we're happy with, and National Floors doesn't even return our calls anymore!

We picked out carpet for our house and the salesman told us it would be the same grade carpet we already had in our home. The day of installation, I went to see the carpet in the truck and it appeared to be "paper thin!" I refused the order! Spoke with the office and they told me that after it is vacuumed it would be plusher! Does carpet grow? After some negotiation they offered us a better grade at the same price. That sounded good! They refused to refund our money because we "paid in full" and they kept referring to it as a "deposit"! After the promise of better quality carpet...the day of installation, the truck arrived with the very same carpet they had brought the first time! We wanted tone done with NFD so we said "put it in"! Should have held out...but I promised to bad mouth this company in every way possible! $2, 000.00 down the drain, because we will have to buy new carpet within the next few years! This company sucks big time! Research first! Look for complaints! The commercials are a lie! I don't think the USA would make cheap quality carpet such as what we got! NFD is only a six person company...don't be fooled by what you see on TV! I have no shame in my game...proudly...Patricia J. Scott

National Floors Direct horrible service

I have never dealt with a company so pathetic as National Floors Direct. I could go on and on about my experiences with them, but here is the skinny:

First, they would not beat their competitor's price as advertised by 15%. In fact they were over a $100 more.

Since they promised next day installation, we decided to just pay the extra $100+ and get the project done.

That was until the next day came and they didn't show after waiting around all morning.

We rescheduled and had to take time off from work. They said they would be there between 10 and 3. They didn't show up till 2:55pm. Installation was done by three people who didn't speak English. Our baseboard molding was scraped pretty badly and missing a chunk in one spot.

To make maters worse, they charged us the full price even though they promised us a discounted price due to not showing up next day as promised.

After several phone calls to their unhelpful customer service, they finally promised us a credit but of course they didn't deliver that either!

Several phone calls were made where we were told that we would get the credit in 15 days, or they would do it today, etc. I heard it all. Here we are a week later and still no credit...

I finally just had to stop payment on my credit card.

PLEASE, PLEASE... save yourself some aggrevation and just go with the LOCAL guy!

What a nightmare this company is, I would never suggest this company to anyone save yourself the headache and do NOT give their time. I had scheduled for new laminate floors in my living room and new carpet in the bedrooms in June 2008 and set a date of July 23 and 24th which was plenty of time for them to schedule me. When Friday came I called several times to figure out when they were coming out and never could get a straight answer they finally showed up at 4pm and didn't finish until almost 8pm at night. The nightmare began on Saturday though I cleared out the bedrooms and the rooms were pretty much bare at this point with the exception of the furniture they had to move, it was not almost noon and still no sign or phone call from anyone. I finally called the company and they told me they had nothing scheduled for me I told them they were not coming out. I explained to them they had too come out I had my entire house torn apart. When the manager called me he said he had 6 installers call out which I knew was lie since Jeff told me that he never even had me on the list! I finally got them to come out on that Sunday, the installers came out at 1pm and then looked at the furniture and said he was not told to move anything and refused to move it. We then moved had to get it out and then they broke my lamp and left without moving any of the furniture back into the rooms. My house was a disaster by the time they left. The carpet does look okay but could have done a much better job than they did! I over 4, 000 and I am not happy at all! I would not recommend this company to anyone save yourself from a headache these people are awful! I now am fighting with them to get my money back for the furniture and the lamp they broke!

National Floors Direct horrible customer service

I have never had customer service as awful as that which I've gotten from National Floors Direct. My fiance and I are first time home buyers, and made the terrible decision to go with NFL because we wanted our condo carpeted as quickly as possible, so that we could move in ASAP. The contractors were told that they could not do construction work after 6pm per condo regulations. They showed up at 5:00pm. They were rude, ignorant and complained about how much they wanted to go home. One worker was instructing the others how to install the carpet as they went. They left a mess everywhere, including all over the common areas, did not finish the ends of the carpet in several spots, and reused our old carpet padding and metal end strips in multiple places. When they left at 8:30 pm that night, there were also two large pulls in the rug. I was ready to throw them out out of my home if they didn't leave, so I didn't push these issues that night. We called National Floors the next day to express our concerns, and asked that the repairs be made to the rug. After blowing off our calls, stating" there's nothing more I can do for you, stop calling, " and those from the better buisness bureau, they agreed to schedule a date for repair. Since then, they have rescheduled three times. We have taken time out of work, spoken with every RUDE employee in the company and waited for over 2 months with no result. I have not asked them for anything BUT a finsished service which we paid for already. If they do not comply, I'm ready to contact the local news stations who do consumer reports on local buisness complaints. If anyone is interested, please let me know.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I work in customer service myself, and I would be fired if I treated people the way they've treated us! No one returns calls, they lied about everything, and even bad-mouthed other employees to us. It's been two months and we dont have the carpet we ordered and haven't received a dime in compensation like they promised. We're thinking about bringing them to small claims court. Not sure what else to do. I hope your situation has been fixed since you wrote this!

National Floors Direct install/ customer service

We had a salesman come out Thursday night and we had an agreement in writing. We were told "next day" was booked and if Saturday would be OK. That was fine as someone needed to be home and we don't work weekends. I spent Firday night removing all but a few items from the living room in which the new carpet was to be installed. We would get a confirmation call of which we did and were told they would call in the morning to determine if they would be there between 7 a.m. and noon or noon and 6 p.m. We never received a call so at 10 a.m. I called and was told I would get a call no later than 10:30 am. Noon time rolled around and I called back. I was put on hold for nearly 30 minutes. After I hung up they called me. They said they can't come today because the van broke down (same "act of god" example given by the salesman). I cut to the chase and requested the manager. She requested Tuesday but I couldn't as no one would be home. She then put me on hold and another 10 minutes passed. Again I hung up and within a few minutes she called back and said "the call was lost during transfer". I explained I would still have the job done is someone would come today and if not I would cancell the order. She then explained "all options have been exhausted". Off to the cancellation department of which I'm told they would contact me in 3-5 business days and I should receive my deposit back. "Should receive"?
Our salesman was nice and helped us pick out our new carpet however the company's communication and customer service needs major improvement. I can't comment on the product because they never made it here.
Off to spend my money elsewhere as they didn't seem to want my business.

I wanted to add we got another quote from a local company for better material, both carpet and pad, and it came in over $300 LESS than NFD! So much for them beating it by 15%.

Hi Bill,

I am VERY curious to know if you'd be willing to share the name of the other local vendor you ended up using. I just signed my order yesterday, but have seen several negative comments online about NFD and am inclined to cancel my order while still within the 3 day period.

I'm also curious to know if you had any trouble canceling your order or getting your money/deposit back. I hope to hear back from you soon!

National Floors Direct terrible service and product

This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. I have never taken the time to go online and complain about a company until my experience with national floors direct. To sum it up, their salespeople will tell you whatever you want to hear, the installers (Subcontractors bid out at the lowest price no doubt) were rude, late, unprofessional and did a terrible job. My husband had to rip up the floor they put down because it was so embarassing to look at. I called customer service numerous times and nobody ever called me back. I filed a complaint with the bbb and nfd told them I never called! Please, find another company and save yourself the frustration and loss of money which none of us can afford these days!

This company Fraudulently advertises NO MONEY down and NO Payments for one year that at the end of your appointment with them, and after you have gone through the entire approval process thinking it is done, they spring on you a 10% cash/check downpayment fee to process the order. This should be disclosed up front in the advertising or at least before you make an appointment and commit your valuable time. They say word of mouth is the best sales tool, well it can also work the other way NFD. I will tell anyone who will listen as to how I was victim of your deceiving advertising practices. I will also relay this to Armstrong Flooring.

National Floors Direct was hired to install carpet at my home. The first sales guy I kicked out because he was too rude and pushy. He was giving my wife an attitude while I was working outside (I came back in and told him to get out). He slammed the door on the way out. The second guy was pretty nice and informed me that the last guy was fired (not sure if it was true or a sales gimmick). The install team came in about a week later and started the install. I had to sign a disclaimer stating that they could scratch the baseboard, which I was fine with since I could touch it up later. I was not allowed upstairs during the install since they were moving furniture. They finished pretty quickly and I did a walk through and everything seemed fine. They did a fair job (7 out of 10). The main floors seemed fine, but they ripped up a bunch of fabric on the stairs tucking the carpet and there were some areas that were not level. There were also several areas where the staples are coming up so it squeaks a little when stepped on. I did the walk through it I was not being picky since I was selling the house. The next day I noticed that the furniture was damaged in several areas. The furniture was brand new prior to them moving it. I did not notice it right away because the installers sanded down the furniture and used stain pens to cover their tracks. It was also a little awkward having them follow me around because they did not speak any English so they just nodded at everything I said even though they did not understand what I was saying. They never attempted to notify me that there was any damage and followed me around pressuring me to give them the OK to leave. The iFnstall team also shredded the baseboard in several areas. The wood is split in several areas. I have since tried to resolve the issue with National Floors, but the senior customer service representative (Sasha) stated that the installed team would not do that and that we overpaid for our furniture so he will not correct the issue or pay for the damages. We did have a warranty on the furniture, but National Floors voided it by sanding it in an attempt to cover their tracks. Very shady business practices.

They are so forceful to sign a contract the date they showed up, they started the price from double and trying to thread me they will go for 15% with others pricematch, they took deposit which they never given me back upon cancellation of contract.Total balony staff, worst customer service, no way next day installation, becasue products are not in stock, thereis no way they can do 15%price match.really Fake TV ad.They visited my place on July 22 and gave me an estimate of $1786.00 for carpet installation, They forcefully request me to bind a contract I told them I have other people''s coming in to give me the estimate I can''t sign a contract until I see every one''s estimate.Mark (Sales man) for very aggressive about his sale, he called his boss and they gave mew new price of $1286.00 and questioned me I have to sign a contract before he leaves the site, after that discount will not be valid, I told him I do not believe in signing contract unless i see other''s number, he then offered if they give me less price than their quote they will do 15% price match. and with no obligation I can cancel my contract in 3 business days. that sounds toooooo excellent, alot of things were revolving in my mind, he sat down and talks so quick and started the paperwork, he questioned me the installation day I said Friday afternoon, once he did the paperwork he questioned me to pay a 10% deposit of $129.00 which he didn''t tell me before, I said that OK, i will pay you through credit card, he said only check or MONEY, I told him you didn''t tell me in the beginning that you don''t take cards, he apologized for his misrepresentation.I signed a contract he then left, another company gave me $1050.00 price for the same JOB and material, written contract I told him with in 3 days that can they do 15% price match, he said they can only go till $1000.00 I run out of my 3 days contract which they forcefully signed by me now I am stuck with them with 1000.00 I said OK.The installation people showed up at my house on Thursday morning I told them its not for today its for Friday. On Friday they showed up at my place for a second time 9:30am, I wasn''t home, I told them over the phone its in afternoon, I was very upset with all these miscommunication and discrepancies.I cancelled my appointments after 10am and showed up at home, because they were waiting outside my house.I was so upset so far with their customer service. The installation guy questioned me to pay first with MONEY Only, before they start the JOB, I told them I need to talk to 800 number, becasue they didn''t inform me to pay first then start the JOB.I called them and staff was very very rude, Guy told me if I don''t pay them first, he will cancel the order and keep my $129.00 for the material, I told them this is incorrect they do every thing so forcefully, they bind me in a contract by saying that they can do 15% price match, which they didn''t do, then installation guy showed up on unscheduled day and time, I am very upset already now he is telling me pay first otherwise they will cancel the order, he said that''s what the policy is? Mark didn''t tell me to pay first, why they keep my CASH for the material which is not even used for any thing. He said he can''t help me other than cancelling it, I told him Ok do that and I will report it to BBB, he said its OK with them they can take care of the complaint, but not refunding me my $129.00 back.

My husband and I had this company come out to put a runner on our stairs...what a nightmare! I am now arguing with them in an attempt to get a refund. Their service was awful, and the installation was terrible. The installation was done on May 26, 2017, and it is already fraying and coming off of the stairs. They were supposed to come fix it this week, and they did not show up or call me. The customer service was awful, and the installation was awful. I am now seeking legal help to see if I can get a full refund because they told me they will not refund my money. They offered to come out and fix it, but I need to wait for a part to come in because the binding machine is broken. I got the runaround more than once, and they didn't show up more than once. I was told several different stories depending on who I spoke with...I could go on and on...It is a terrible way to treat people and to run a business.

I had to cancel a floor installation deal (within the 3 day period allowed after signing) with National Floors Direct due to unforeseen issues discovered underneath our existing floor during demo. 17 days after cancelling, my deposit on the install has still not been refunded to me. Three customer service operators on three separate days this week have given me the same response. 'Your refund is 'in accounting' for refund'. No projected date when I might expect to receive the refund, just 'In accounting for refund' Is it just me, or is that really not an acceptable answer when I was originally told that my deposit would be refunded in '10-14 days'? When I asked to speak with someone who might be able to give me more info, I was very rudely told (by ALL three people!) that they were in fact supervisors and there was no one else for me to speak to. Thanks NFD. As to any future business you might have received from me, as well as my very negative opinion if asked by anyone else looking for flooring...NFD stands for No Friggin' Deal!

We started our process 3/26/2017, to date, 6/10/2017, they have never completed the door thresholds, fixed split wood, squeaks that were not supposed to squeak because the sub-floors were guaranteed to be screwed down to stop the squeaks. I have over 1/2 of a room that sounds like crickets and the entry way from outside to all the way down the hall to the living area that also squeaks. You can stand a quarter up between some of the spacing where the boards should butt up against each other. Problem is they got their money upfront because they have to take out a loan that pays them directly (that they don't advertise) and we got screwed. I have disputed their claims of the job being done and GE Money (the finance company who paid them already and is billing us), but they accept NFDs lies, so you can't say to much for their brightness. There is a remaining balance and they have all they are going to get. I the have pictures as well as the floors as proof. The sent a floor specialist from another company out and he walked in and said "wooo, I wouldn't touch this floor without almost tearing it out and redoing at least 60 SF of it. The waves in it are unbelievable." He took pictures with nickels, dimes and quarters standing up in the irregular spacing between the wood pieces and where the drop down thresholds should go...well, there are NOT any thresholds. His Customer Satisfaction Checklist is dated 4/16/10 and states that Customer will be happy if...order 5 t-moldings, 60sq ft-rip up and replace, tuck carpet, repair holes and putty". Apparently, NFD decided not to use him, he hasn't been back, haven't heard from him and the floors are still just like they were. I have contacted Channel 3, Channel 8, BBB, The Attorney General's office and I will file a suit if I need to. Fraud is Fraud anyway you word it, false advertisements just keep airing every day and they are allowed to get away with hurting the consumers like us. They keep lying to GE Money saying I am satisfied and that the work has been done and GE Money keeps agreeing in their favor. They won't send me the info that NFD keeps providing to GE Money, much less come out and just do what they are supposed to do. I am about to send in my 3rd or 4th dispute and I can play their game the same as they can. NFD reps have been out here many many times, measuring, re-looking at it, and I keep telling them, it hasn't changed since the last time they were here . NFD lied just out right lied to GE Money by sending them the Customer Satisfaction Checklist from the first day they came out and one from the end of the same week. Well, they convinced GE Money that I WAS TOTALLY SATISFIED, which is just the OPPOSITE and it has been over a year now and I still have NO thresholds, splits in the high priced cherry wood. I paid top dollar already for the shoddy work I got and I won't pay another dime...just biding time...I will keep disputing, keep spreading the word of their deceitful practices and their sweet words coated with lies. Where my vents are at, they used a round hole cutter and split the wood under the vents and if you pick up the vent you can clearly see what a mess they made. The carpets were fine and look great, no complaints. I paid that loan off before it was due. I'd have paid the other off if I'd been completely satisfied or even close to being satisfied. I asked them to take the remaining balance and them eat it and I will have my floors fixed myself. They have not responded. They have sent probably more lies to GE Money as they keep saying they have to side with NFD. If it were their floors...they'd still be raising heck like me.

I have many many pictures, but here is just a couple where you can see the splits and one place where they drilled a hole where we told them we didn't want to put cable back in, but they did it anyway, then they plugged it with putty and put dark stain over it, but this is what it looked like 2 days later when the stain dried...it didn't stay, but the putty color did.

I remain to date a very unsatisfied customer on the wood floors that are NOT finished yet. Pictures say a 1000 words, but I bet I have a 1/4 of a million.

I want to start off by saying that if you are looking for flooring or carpet in any way do not go to National Floors Direct. This is a very corrupt company that takes advantage of consumers. I worked for Empire Today and they actually look like angels compared to this company.

This company has every right in their means to just go to the right price immediately. They really don't understand basic business practices and they have to steal the information from companies like Empire to have any kind of identity. I was forced to lie to customers on a regular basis and they literally tell their "flooring professionals" to lie to the customers to buy. If the reps don't then they get yelled at and threatened by a very immature & inexperienced manager named Dan. It truly is a sad spectacle.

I was lured in to this company by the owner Steve "Sam" Rosenberg making me a ton of promises that he never kept. They didn't even bother to notify me that I was terminated (which I suspect was because they couldn't even pay me anymore) I didn't even get a reason. I just didn't get paid when it came time for pay day and I called relentlessly with nobody to respond. They had someone in customer service call me to let me know.

To back up what I am saying and their credibility. I had over 4 expense checks that bounced. 2 were made right the other 2 I am taking to the authorities. They have been cut off by all of their suppliers due to owing them an insane amount of money and extremely slow payment. I was calling and talking to 2-3 customers a day being told to lie to them stating that the carpet was in "production" or that Armstrong was "out of stock" They have to pay before they get delivery from any company. While all the sons and father Sam drive BMWs and Mercedes the real heartbeat of the company, the suppliers, struggle to get any money at all from NFD. It shows the lack of discipline and disregard to customers rights they really have.

Also if you have a contract with them and you are just reading this. You make the educated decision to not do business with them. Just know that even within your legal 3 day right to cancel. You will have a very difficult time getting your money back. If you do good luck with it clearing your bank.

Good luck!

I had National Floors Direct come out to my home to measure for carpet and to give me a Bid. After I got the price (he would not put it in writing). The salesperson said he had to call his Boss to make a note of the price that he gave me. The sales man made his call in my kitchen, and I could hear the "Boss" on the other end screaming and swearing, that I was a BLANK BLANK FN liar ( I had told the salesman that I had found same carpet cheaper) I could not belive what I was hearing. This company is just a rip off, and very rude. DONT USE THEM

National Floors Direct - fraud and cheating

I placed an order with National Floors Direct for what I was told to be Furniture grade Armstrong American made natural oak flooring. This was a seven thousand dollar order. When the installers showed up at my house, I happened to look at the empty boxes of the wood and clearly on the box it said made in China. As far as I know we don't ship oak from The...

National Floors Direct floor 3/4 done

I was upset because national floors direct left my kitchen 3/4 done and the tile was not available well here is an update august 2. Dave the installation manager Megan office and John the salesman solved my dilemma the floor will be swapped out on Monday with a floor they have in stock and the price dropped 1000, 00 dollars with a rushed installation for Monday. So I appreciate Dave's honesty Megans assist and Most importantly John's (salesman) assist. I have a very special family occassion happening next weekend which is why I started this project and I feel confident as of today Saturday that all will work out! I feel very optimistic that all will work out.

I am happy for you that your issue was resolved but must admit I"m jealous! They installed a bathroom floor with mismatched tile, trim, gaps in the trimwork and somehow caused the floor which come to find out is a "floating floor" to be so uneven we had to rip it oud completely. The installers were late, rude and National Floors Direct has refused to return my calls. I strongly discourage anyone from using this fraudulent company as they are misleading and the work they do (well the subcontractors they hire to do it) is substandard at best. Anyone else reading this and thinking about hiring them, find another company!

National Floors Direct laminate flooring

I signed a contract on July 30, 2008 for laminate kitchen floor to be installed July 31, 2008. the salesman told me if they did not have eough stock he would call me to select a different product. July 31st arrived the installers came but only brought 13 of the 17 cases of quick click tile. they told me the warehouse was going to call them and they would go get the rest of the boxes. They did leave but because they forgot the padding. They installed the 13 boxes they Sid informed me the 4 boxes would be available in the morning August 1. I called early it seems national floors direct did not have the tiles they told me they will be in at 12:00 noon on the delivery truck Dave who is in charge of installation assured me he personally called to confirm my tile was on the delivery truck and John the salesman assured me of this as well. well you guessed it no tiles. floor 3/4 done and National Floors Direct could care less Randy customer service manager was rude and very unhelpful as if this was my fault. he offered me 5% off which is $200.00. John (salesman) states the warehouse should have called him so I could have selected a new product but didn't so they are a fault. Meanwhile I have a kitchen that looks like crap. With company scheduled for that evening naturally we had to treat them out to dinner which cost more than the 200.00 National floors direct offered but my kitchen is unusable. it is now Saturday Dan Reis the big manager is suppose to call me I have no idea what will happen next next truck is Tuesday but i don't have Tuesday off or Wednesday or Thursday or Friday so now we are looking at a much longer time for my kitchen to be unusable. I say this company is unusable. They have made no real attempt to make me happy just lies and shifting blame they should come today take this mess out and install a floor they have in stock Or give me back my money! They certainly took my check

National Floors Direct terrible service

I was attempting to get my house ready to sell in a timely fashion so I thought, who better than a company that installs next day? I got an estimate from John my salesman, who assured me that the 5 rooms of carpet and 3 rooms of hard surface flooring that I needed could be done in 2 days.

I chose a light beige carpet mid grade that he told me was there most popular carpets and it was ' a great choice'. I was also told that the installers could move my furniture as long as I took all electronics down/apart and emptied all shelves, and disconnected my gas stove. I informed him that I would be away on vacation and I would have my 65 year old mother here on the days needed to be here for the installers.

I first got a call from home at 9am the first day (1 hour after they said they would be here) saying that they had just arrived and could NOT do the work because they didn't move ANY furniture and that they needed a check to start the job. I was at Disney World but luckily was able to work my cell phone and contact their office and eventually my salesman to get the in house financing that I had arranged through them confirmed and that they WERE supposed to move my furniture as promised by their salesman.

After 4 days of my mother being at the house, one of which they promised to be here and never called or showed up, the job was almost done, except that they were out of their most popular selling carpet and they would need to come back in a week to finish the last room.

I took a day off from work, and waited for the installer to arrive on a Friday as promised by a confirmation call that I placed to their customer 'care' center on Wednesday. at 1 pm I called back and spoke the rep I had spoke to on Wednesday who told me that they should be there soon and she would call them and get an ETA from the crew.

1 Hour later I had not heard back from her so I called and was informed that they still did not have any more of their most popular carpet in stock ( 2 weeks from the time that I had their salesman in my house where he took measurements of every room to ensure that the job would be done in a timely manner). I asked to speak to the manager and was put on hold and told just a second, then the rep picked back up and said that he had suddenly left the office and would call me back within the hour ( before 3pm) at 5 pm I finally called back and was able to BS my way through to him.

It took 2 more weeks to finally get the carpet in stock, and I explained that I needed it installed FIRST THING on a Saturday morning as I had a memorial service for a friend who had passed away in the afternoon and could not take off another day of work to deal with this. I was assured by Dave the installation manger that they would be here first thing.

At 11am on Saturday I called to speak to the installation manager again and was told that they should be here soon as they loaded up in Avon Ma. (67 miles/1hr24min according to google maps) at 9am. I again explained my situation to him and he told me that the install and hard surface edge repair they needed to do would only take 1/2 hour so I figured I was safe. 2 phone calls and 2 1/4 hours later they finally arrived. They did finish the carpet install but were not able to fix the edge problem.

It took another 1 1/2 weeks to get that fixed. I had spoken to the managers several times throughout this process with little to no satisfaction. I also spoke to my salesman who told me not to worry that as soon as the install was done I would receive a refund because the owner did not like unhappy customers. After 3 more weeks of fighting with these people I finally got a $250.00 refund on a $6200.00 bill. I was told that this was the entire profit margin of the company and there was nothing else that could be done and I( should stop calling them.

I have since filed complaints with the Attorneys General in Massachusetts where they are based and New Hampshire where I live, as well as the BBB in both states. I would strongly recommend that anyone NEVER EVER EVER use these people for anything. This job was finally completed in October of '07 and the hard surface flooring is already starting to break up at the edge and an 8' piece of trim they put in with 4 nails is already pulled out and floating free. THESE PEOPLE ARE A RIPOFF!

High press sales, basically wouldn't take no for an answer from my elderly friend. Have to do it now, too far for me to come back. Didnt like the floor already had until he found out they had installed it. Poor cancellation policy, must be sighed contract returned within 3 days. 15% restocking fees if you cancel. Read the fine print. Showed up to do the job but wouldn't because stove and appliances weren't disconnected. Customer service lady said "thanks for your mony". Very poor.

I just hate their non-stop commercials that run over and over. You just know this company is not legit...anyone who has to advertise that much is preying on unsuspecting consumers (and I wouldn't buy from Empire either - their competing non-stop commericals annoy me to no end). The best thing anyone can do is get a referral from a friend, relative or neighbor for any type of home improvement project. Word of mouth is your best bet. In the long run you do get what you pay for!
