Nail Palace Can’t sleep due to this $698 charged

I can not believe I was force to pay for $698. For 1 time foot treatment. Add on was ok package for my pedicures services. Everything happens in an hours time. The result is just normal pedicure. Wrapping a cream cost me $698

Read up on my last complaint :
Here I attach the receipt wrote down by them.

Nail palace : please example to me how your price list work and what product you use, what kind of professional or specialist doctor your have engaged? In an hr time my $698 is robbed from my bank. Or your is a 6 star luxury hotel that provide me an whole Body spa + and 6 star hotel night to charged me this kind of money.

In an hr time, my pedicure + what your states! My $698 is gone. without me realising and forcing and pushing to pay. I am totally not satisfied with your services. Your hard selling tactics and confusing price and misleading marketing and sale speech. Lots of sales pressure it such an unpleasant experience! I was scammed!

I did mention I don't want pay, and the price is crazy but your staff turn to deaf ear to my complaining. I can't believe it happened in Singapore. Force me pay. I said I want complaint they happily pass me your feedback form and challenge me. No way to talk to them. They just forcing me and pushing me. your sale staff is dishonest and no business moral. I am very traumatised by this event.

$698 is my hard earn money. At the point I was force to either I call police come. Or settle it privately. Can you imagine the staff is not bother or listen to alternative but challenge me to complainant.

Total disappointment: totally traumatised by this event.

No replies from nail palace

Update by Vicky vicky

I have sent your replies :

I visit Sunplaza, Sunday yesterday 26/09/2021 appointments is 12:45pm session end 2pm .
Send my husband for pedicure . Last session for my package .

When my husband call when session end, shocking to found out that I have to paid $698 .!

Please justified the charged and also how your gonna solved this problem .

Your staff should be well know about this cases . Because I refused to pay . By the way your staff challenged me to complain . I seriously doubt about how your trained your staff and managed your business .

This is so far the most unpleasant service I encountered in singapore . Can you imagine you visit a shop for a pedicure and later was charged $698 . And the staff was fierce and challenged you to complain . Please put yourself at my shoes . How would you feel ?

At the shop I refused to pay but can’t your staff is well trained to force me to take out my card .
Why I refused to pay . I am unsatisfactory with your services and the amount I paid $698 is not justifiable. There is not way total for an hr pedicure(I paid) + what ever your service claim a cream, I don’t what kind of cream apply wrapped for 15mjns and is $698)

1st hard selling, keep asking to do additional, saying $398 plus 10% discount .
At is so mentally and emotionally pressured .and ask why so expensive but she mislead and answered in confusing ways but was force to accept as your staff using scare tactics .

2nd, even with $398 plus 10% we can not accept to pay . Bear in mind i already paid the pedicure about $45. Was on package . By hearing the price we are reluctant but no choices, however we thought $398 would be something more professional services and with add on products for home treatments later on .no noting just a wrapped 15mins cost me $698 . 1 treatment 1 time 15m&mins $698 !reallyunbelievable
At the the is just wrapping services. With a cream how to justify?

3nd, why I refused to pay . When session end within an hour later the total bill is $698 almost $700 ! ? Reason $398 for heels and $398 for toes ? Oh my god ! This is so scary . How can your staff mislead others ? In this way ?

I refuse to pay ! And ask your staff why so expensive . Only said is your price list . Your staff didn’t present them self honestly and clearly to consumers
As consumers $398 is huge amt of money we accept more services and more product to receive if to solve whatever your unprofessional staff claim my husband feet to be . Add on it your staff saying things unclear and only said half of the price ! Mislead and try to confused others and is pushing and forcing other to do This is not right !

Let’s deal Email, black and white is better .
Thank you

Nail Palace Felt dishonest and cheated

Saw the brochure outside for express gel medi is $19.90, so I went in. Staff told me later that it needs a 3 days advance booking . So I proceed with the express manicure. But soon found it weird as they started to trim my cuticles, to found out later that it was a classic they chose for me. Was confused by the staff when she told me the pricing, i mistakenly agree with her that I want an EXPRESS classic manicure, staff should have reconfirm with me instead of proceeding with the classic medicure. I left the shop just getting my nails trimmed, not even polish as I told them its my lunch time and obviously I am in a hurry. They should have clarify if I prefer a express medi or classic medi, instead of telling me straight away its $28.

Nail Palace Hard-selling to sign up exorbitant nail package

Dear Nail Palace,

I would like to request to cancel the other package which I have signed on at  NEX yesterday and opted to pay through atome. I signed up for the package under tremendous pressure from the manicurist to pay such exorbitant for simple service. the initial service charge was around $374 before gst.  I have paid the first installment $474.60. This amount should cover the service which I have done yesterday.

My invoice number is 09B-0058714.

How ridiculous it is to pay 528 for ampoules, 440 for nail masks and 708 for hand  and feet spa? I have regretted very much to pay for the addition service and also top up to extend the package.

Please allow for cancellation. Thank you very much for your assistance.

Desired outcome: to cancel the package and cancel my atome balanced payment and refund the balance from the first installment charged extra from the added on manicure service on 2nd August.

I have sent the email. Looking forward to your reply. The $374 for the extra service before gst was for the pill, leg and hand spa, 2 ampoules used for legs and arms and nail mask for the fingers. I was told that the scrub and mask which is the spa service was $200 over. How would this kind of treatment cost over $200?

Nail Palace Mani and pedi hard upsell

Visited the brand new Sembawang Shopping Centre outlet as its close to home and saves us travelling to the city to our normal nail salon. Opted for pedicure for 2 person and manicure for 1 person. So we begin. First comes the upsell for a "tablet" which we accepted no problem as per usual. Then the fun began. Half way through photos are taken of feet and highlight on this part and that part and then an offer of a $388 dollar treatment. Both persons declined. Then we get a free sample of the treatment on a small area. More photos taken, an editing app used to make it look like it worked wonders, reality not much difference.

Then nearing the end the hard sell comes to buy a package worth over $1000. This hard sell came from 2 persons and did not stop. Completely ruined the whole experience. Sitting close. No social distancing pushing package after package at various rates. This truly ruined the evening and we will not return. Instead we continue to take our business to our usual nail bar.

This is no way to perform business. And people like us whom regularly visit nail salons and pay for the services at non package rate would happily return if service is good. Which at this location the hard sell let us down massively. It's supposed to be a relaxing time. Not an all out war to upsell.

Nail Palace Hard-selling of package for a service/product that I do not need

I visited Nail Palace at nex today for a simple one-off classic mani/pedi as a treat to myself.

During the treatment, the technicians saw my damaged big toe nails and claimed that it has fungal infection and insisted that I do the fungal treatment which cost SGD498. I was taken aback as this is not the first time my toenails were injured and they regrew fine the previous times, and I have dealt with fungal infections before with over-the-counter topical products. I declined and said that I didn't need it. However, they pressed on further and offered a cheaper fungal treatment alternative at SGD288. They also added that my pedi cost will be waived so I considered and agreed.

Before my treatment ended, they suggested that my whole treatment today would be cheaper if I became a member. So they offered me a package of 10 sessions that included the fungal treatment, fungal foot bath pill, classic medi/pedi, gel (hand only) and gel soak off. After continuous and relentless hard-selling, I reluctantly agreed. I definitely felt pressurised into purchasing the package but there was no way for me to walk away at this point.

After charging me for this package offer (I literally got the SMS on my phone telling me that the transaction went through on my card), they came back to me with another offer: if I topped up another SGD1491.80, they would include the more expensive Dermal Fungus Treatment priced at SGD498. Again, I felt pressurised and I unwillingly agreed. I ended up paying SGD4980 in total.

Feeling concerned about what they claimed regarding the fungal infection, I immediately went to see a doctor for medical advice. The doctor concluded that my damaged toenails is unlikely a fungal infection and the changes is due to trauma from regular exercising. Now, knowing that I just paid almost SGD5000 for something that I do not need, I returned to the shop to seek for a refund, less whatever services was rendered. However, the manager said it was beyond her pay-grade to offer a refund, and could only offer a change of services offered in the package instead. I insisted that I wanted a refund and I was directed to email the company's customer service to request for it.

I would like to request for a full refund through the original mode of payment as I do not actually need this fungal treatment, nor the package for medi and pedi as I do not do medi/pedi on a regular basis.

Separately, while I recognise the technicians' long experience in the field, I do not think they are qualified in professional terms to be diagnosing their customers' conditions based on just what they see. They should instead advise their customers to first seek professional medical advice.

Desired outcome: Full refund of package amount paid through original mode of payment, less services rendered

Nail Palace Nails-Manicure

On 15 June 2021, I went to Nail Palace at Nex for a Manicure session. Staff there wouldn't stop pestering me to sign up for their package, i declined initially but continued on to pester and when i said I'm just a student, they said i could pay through atome and forcefully made me sign a 6 times manicure session package amounting to $402 in total which is ridiculous as I have already mentioned I'm a student but they forcefully pestered so I had no choice. Went back for the second time for a normal manicure session and made me paid additional for some strengthening nail gel which amounted to $140? This is really ridiculous, bad service.

Desired outcome: Refund

I had a very unpleasant experience at Nail Palace NEX today. I tried declining signing up a package numerous times but they would not stop pestering me. The whole experience gave me a headache. In the end i felt obliged to sign on a 6 times mani/pedicure just so i could leave the shop. I regretted visiting the shop today.

Nail Palace Hard selling packages - refused to refund full amount

I entered Nail Palace on 23 April at about 3.20pm as I had wanted to kill time while waiting for my hubby to meet me. I initially asked for a pedi only but the technician asked if I wanted to add on a mani. So I said OK since I have not done one in a long time.

During the session, I was looking at my phone and was trying to avoid talking to them but they kept talking to me. At the end of the session, technician 1 asked if I had wanted to take up a package for 18 sessions of mani and pedi to which I rejected. She then reduced to 12 sessions and I said no I only want to pay for today's session and leave. Technician 2 then came and pulled my hand and said how about just 6 times. You can come anytime and there's no expiry date. I felt very forced and said OK because I thought I would utilise. But I immediately regretted my purchase as it was a
huge lump sum of money and I asked for a refund. The shop said they were unable to process refunds and told me to email their customer service instead. 2 days later, I received a reply, stating that they were only able to refund me the amount after a 40% deduction of cancellation fees.

It was not mentioned anywhere in the receipt that there is to be a 40% deduction of cancellation fees.

Desired outcome: Get 100% full refund

Nail Palace Hard-Selling your packages.

Visited on 17th Mar 2021 - made an appt a day earlier. (NORTH POINT)

I just wanted classic mani(french) and pedi.

Once I got seated - I was using my phone to watch a show. Also - I wanted to avoid conversation, I walked in for a relaxing pamper session but it failed.

Your staff asked me more than 3 to 4 times to take the package.
1) Quoted me $688 first offer - I said no.
2) Then asked for credit card - I said don't have and I don't want to spend.
3) Then suggested to reduce $100 - and make it $588 - I said no.
4) Then said I could Split the bill $200 plus 1 day and 300 plus 2nd visit - I said no.
5) Asked me when I last did my feet - I said a year ago..- immediately started selling some sole softening package - I said no.

Basically I said no 5 times and each time she kept asking - then another staff chimed in too cornering me. I even mentioned I am unable to afford this service and I need to financially be ready cos I'm only working part-time.

Just wanted to walk in to relax abit.

Why is it, my first no just fell on deaf ears?
Why must make my experience so bad? No is a no. $688 is a no. $288 is a no. That's all.

Please stop hardselling - my last time ever coming to Nail Palace.

Desired outcome: NOTHING.

Nail Palace Manicure

I am so disgusted, disappointed and angry with the staff at Sun Plaza Mall outlet. While I was at the outlet, I am making an appointment for the 26th Jan 21 as it is near CNY and inform by the staff that if I did not attend on that day it will consider as 1 treatment was perform even though I inform them that if there is some urgent matter that I may not able to attend I will inform them early.
This make me really angry as I paid the package in full. What type of customer service is this. I will not be continuing after I have finish with them. I have never feel so fed up as this before. Furthermore the service is way below par & keep pestering for add on for additional treatment (up sales)

Desired outcome: Should be more honest & understanding especially for genuine case & we inform early

Dear Person In Charge

Regarding the above transaction, I would like a refund for the above less the treatment I did on 3rd July 2021.
Your staff was very pushy and the Dermal fungal treatment caught me unaware that is was $498.00 per treatment .
Your staff push me to sign the package for $9k plus, and then gradually reduce to the amount that I took up.
After returning home only to realise that I was doing a payment which actually was not exactly needed.
As I was rushing for my next appointment which I was running late, I just sign without actually going through it.
Please look in this and I need a refund for the balance amount after the 1st treatment.
Await your soonest response.

This is an expected reply on 16/July.2021. Review and complain on online show that your company is unethical in handling situation.
Training your staff to be pushy and targeting the vulnerable.
Even though I agree to pay for the 1st service which come up to S$1, 149.18 which is a substantial amount for anybody.
Quote
Hence, we have taken the necessary steps to remedy
the situation as there is no expiry for your packages and you may also
opt to change the package into credit which you may give or transfer
to your friends or relatives which can be used on other services in
all Nail Palace outlets.
Unquote
Well its up to your management conscience to settle this issue for anyone who is affected by your unethical settlement.
An amount of S$6, 972.00 less S$1, 149.18 = S$ 5, 822.82 is not small amount during this Covid period.

Up to date, there is no reply from them.

Nail Palace Service and product

My wife decided to go nail palace in Bukit Panjang Plaza for a Medicare n pedicure and nail extension, did read up on review and thought it will be good as it is reputable, so I wen about shopping and when I went back, to my horror the bill was $379, worse is the next day 1 of her nails fall off, nothing to be done just pay and left, found this complaint website and reading many complaints of overcharging, so be aware the price list is there but stated starting price frm... I'm sure there are many good people with good experience with them but certainly a bad one for my wife and me

Nail Palace Photo taking without permission

Staff took photos of my feet without my permission. Wrote a feedback to the company's customer service, but came back with a standard template reply. Waited 4 days, still no reply. Called the HQ and not much later, I got a whatsapps text with an apology. Wanted to ask for refund for remaining package but not allowed. Asked them to give me a call but they did not call me.
Next day, received another whatsapp text offering to transfer my package to another outlet and asked them to call me. Again they did not call me.

I am unhappy with their service and the way np handles customer complaints. They are not sincere and professional... As they do not want to give a call (despite request) to handle the complain on a more personal level.

My other experience with NP is that they do a lot of hard selling to their customers.

Nail Palace Horrible service and poor skills

I would like to feedback about the staff Vivian at amk hub... For the first timer who visit the outlet and will definitely be the last time...

Firstly I told her I wanted to do the express gel manicure and also to do soak off... After her culcalation she told me it cost 80++...I was so shocked...what is the purpose of putting the promotion banner outside of the store? Is this a scam?if I didn't not mention the banner outside I saw and I will need to paid for that 80++?

Was that any different treatment between by paying $67.40 and the promotion price at $18?I felt I was being penalised by only paying for the promotion price bcos the standard is worst than bugis street Manicure shop...

The whole experience I had is horrible!

Nail Palace Bad service

Went for their signature sole treatment which involve removing harden skin from your sole.

The therapist assigned to me not only removed the harden skin but also my flesh till my bare skin came off. See picture.
It really hurts. One of my toes nails were also cut too deep till it bleed.

They seem apologetic by applying cream and medication for me. But I won't want to frequent there again.

Nail Palace Hard selling

On 19 nov 2019, I did manicure at jurong point nail palace outlet. Each time, as I tried to keep quiet to avoid eye contact or talking to the people working, they push for hard selling packages to the extend that I cannot turn them down and cause me the stress to buy even though I didn't have enough money. Total was $5093. I did not pay in full but paid $500. I want back my $500 and I don't wish to continue with the package anymore.

I went to the same outlet as you, and to my surprise. The staff really tried whatever it takes in order to force me signing up package. I already mentioned no, I had commitments etc. But 3 of the staffs included their manager also kept pushing me towards signing up packages. I'd regretted to walk-in this nail salon without doing much research. Worst experience ever! People! Please if you just want a simple relaxing manicure session, there are still alot of options out there. Don't go to this nail salon.

Nail Palace Charged me for $3k plus

I want to complaint about nail palace tampines
Hi,
I went to nail palace sometime early this year. I heard of good reviews so I decided to try on my own. I went there the stuff help me out so she mention I had fungus after cleaning my toe, at first cleaning it's just $170.00 then she mention to remove the fungus roughly about $600 plus the one of the staff went to take calculator and they count for 6 sessions about $3k. I was speechless and shocked. Are you suppose to follow the company prices on the website. There were about 5 staff on that they. They were looking at each other and they kept on increasing the price. They only mention to add 12 session about $5k plus. I was super pissed off with the staffs. One of the staff mention to do settlement for the $3k amount I kept on refusing but they keep on demamding about 5 staff on that day. I was super pissed with them. They were forcing me to pay highest price which is $5k plus then I refuse they push to $3k and demand that is good and etc. Now I want to cancel the amount that is charged on my card that is the $3k plus and I am only going to pay for what I use on that day. I only went there onces. They keep on forcing to pay a higher price I was super shocked.
The staff went to uob with my card and I am not happy about it. They told uob staff to do settlement for $3k plus. Now I demand a refund or void the transaction and I only pay for what I use on that day.
I sent an email to the customer service but no respond.

Total they require me to go for 6 session after 1 horrible experience I am not going there anymore. I am also going to tell my family and friends to not visit NAIL PALACE as the place is scamming the customers there. Now the amount for $3k is charge in installment and I had to pay installment for 12 month. Per month I have to pay $256.36 to the poor service that I didn't
use. I find that NAIL PALACE is a fraud. I demand a refund but the staff mention you sign the terms and agreement so they can't refund. If I am paying for the service I didn't use why can't they refund back to me! NAIL PALACE IS A SCAM! I am super pissed with them.

Resolved

It is not resolved. I am still not happy with the service and the staff did not provide any alternative also. So which part is resolved.

Oh dear, we are under the same boat as you. We have just lodged our own complaint. We wanted to make payment for that one time session on that day and they refused. Truly upsetting.

We hope your issue has been resolved!

Looking at the complaints already posted, I'm not sure if you will even take my complaint seriously. I went to the outlet at Eastpoint 2 years ago. I just wanted a relaxing 1 hour of meni and pedi. In the end, I was flanked by about 3 of your staff, one armed with a calculator, forcing me to buy a package. I told them no REPEATEDLY but they kept pushing and pushing and I really just wanted to get up and leave at that very moment. The whole time, they looked annoyed with me for saying No. I kept wishing the session would end soon so I could leave.

And today I went there with my sisters in law and I was hoping things would have improved. I didn't do any of the services, just waited for my sisters in law. And true enough, they recieved the same treatment. Continued pushing to buy the package despite my sisters in law saying no repeatedly.

Please know that this makes for a very very very stressful experience when people want to just relax. Perhaps their basic pay is so low that they become overly hard up for commissions? Anyway, I hope you give this feedback to them. After what I saw today, I don't think I'll be returning to Nail Palace to get my nails done.

Nail Palace Coerced into buying ridiculously priced package due to unethical sales tactics

My husband & I visited your outlet at Bugis+ on 23 August 2020.

The discussion with the nail technicians was to engage them for a casual manicure and pedicure session ($70+ each) for both me and my husband and removing ingrown toenails ($15 per nail). As I have about 5-6 affected toenail, I expected the final bill to come to < $300.

The nightmare started when they engage us in a friendly conversation and push us into getting an individual treatment done. They added some solution to manage my pain to remove my ingrown toenails affected and they informed me that the final bill had come to $700. There was no price transparency, everything that they offered is by a calculator with "special for you" or "today's promotion" rate. When questioned on how their price our entire treatment, they evade the question and consistently changed the topic into buying their package for "cheaper price today".

We felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave as soon as they are done with the services agreed. However, every time we rejected their offers, they will stop what they are doing and continue to sell us the "package" and "special price" - delaying the completion of services.

During our time there, they also turned down 2 potential customers. We were alone in the shop with 4 nail technicians. If they could use 4 manpower to persuade me into buying their package from 8+pm to 10.30 pm, it is unfathomable why they would turn down the 2 potential customers at around 9 pm. I feel like it's the idea of the 4 Nail Technicians to pressure us into paying more and to buy their scam packages. We told them that we were in a rush to leave to fetch our infant. They disregarded our intention to leave. We were pressured and compelled to get the package offered. They were being very unethical, and money-driven.

We had highlighted and emphasized that we were uninterested to get the package numerous times, but the nail technicians insisted that we were agreeable to what was offered. We were gutted, uncomfortable and just wanted to leave as soon as possible.

The situation was hostile. Their official invoice dated 24/08/20 (incorrect date) listed the individual price breakdown for the services is not what was discussed.

The Visa terminal invoice is dated 23/08/20, 10:34 pm. Noting that their closing time is stated at 10 pm, they continue to push us into purchasing the package after closing hours. After the payment, they even insisted multiple times that I had to sign on their "No refund/exchange policy" when I am not agreeable and reluctant to do so.

We were in great distress since the ordeal had begun. We felt that we had no choice but had to follow suit in order to leave the shop.

My mom experienced the same thing too! And the total bill amounted to $9K...

We went to lodge a complaint through CASE and small claims tribunal.

Despite blank receipts, multiple credit card transactions...
(FYI: Nail Palace gave my mom receipts that states cash payment LOL)

Oh best part, their CCTVs were not working.

Something is wrong.

Nail Palace Hard selling and annoying

This is my first time going for a pedicure session at Nail Palace that was suggested by my daughter. She recommended me to go as I am not able to bend down to cut my own toe nails as I just recovered from a severe back pain. I hesitate as I am a full time housewife and she is still studying but earn a little bit of money through working part time. She insist as she mentioned that they are having a promotion deal for $18.80 only. So we make an appointment and went to Nail Palace at Cck (Mrt) on 20 Aug 2020. She thought she might as well do together with me so she can accompany me at the same time. Upon reaching, and here it goes:
1) The staffs recommended doing both meni/pedi as it's more worth it ($38.80). And my daughter said okay.
2) They recommended to put in a kind of soap for the foot so that our feet will be smoother ($10 each) again my daughter said okay.
At this point of time I feel bad for my daughter as the cost already add up close to $100
3) In between while the staffs are doing their work, they kept talking and asking me about my family, (how many children I have, what my husband works as etc etc) which I'm not comfortable to share however at this point they knew that I am housewife
4) After that they told my daughter that her finger has fungus (which is yes) and insisted that she do treatment. She told them she doesn't want and they kept pestering her until she does not know what to answer. I stepped in the conversation and said that my daughter is not able to do now as she needs to go off for he part time teaching.
4) So the staffs turned to me and started to see my feet. They said my feet are full of dead skin, corn etc and sounds like it's the end of my foot. They said it's a one time treatment and corn will be removed and my feet will be smooth after the treatment. They gave a 20% discount. I said I do not want but they kept talking and pestering me until I cannot take it! Being a first timer and 'naive' I agreed to this treatment to keep their mouth shut! At this point of time I realised that I should not make my daughter pay for this. So I told her to go back first after she has done.
5) While my feet are being "treated" they kept asking me to get my daughter to come again to treat her finger which I said I will. (in my mind only God knows) They kept repeating this statement like 5 or 6 times which is very annoying.
6) After my feet treatment almost done, not one but 3 staffs surrounded me and make me buy the package to treat my corn! All of them are speaking at the same time, in maI ay and English language which is very very annoying! I told them you said a one time off is enough to treat the corn? Now they say different thing. They said oh looking at your feet, one time is not enough. Pestering me non stop to take up a package which cost almost $2K! I kept saying I don't want but the hard selling goes on until I felt like putting a white duck take across all their mouth to shut!
7) During payment still asked me again to take up the package! Oh my Goodness!

I left the shop ended paying $392+ for a normal pedicure (which initially cost $18.80 and its only cutting, shaping and shining - no coloring as I'm a Muslim) I felt cheated by their service and everything and I will not come back again.
Honestly the cost above can cover 2 to 3 months of my groceries.

Although my daughter wanted to pay me back for the costs that I have paid, I rejected. I appreciate her thought and concerns and knows that she just wants the best for me as I just recovered. She shouldn't be paying these unnecessary costs by hard selling and unprofessional staffs!
