MultiChoice Africa / DSTV cancellation of glow tv

I am highly disappointed that Glow TV has been discontinued.
Glow TV's content has millions of viewers hooked, compared to the other channels that are offered on DSTV which only air repeats. There are many other useless channels that can be cancelled without us even noticing.
Furthermore the channels that DSTV suggests Indian viewers change to, broadcasts content that is dubbed.
If DSTV's aim is to please Indian Viewers, I suggest that the series they broadcast be in the original Indian language & not dubbed in English. There are millions of movies that are broadcast in English so I don't understand why the Indian content has to be in English as well. What's the point?
Also we should be given the option to change the language as Glow Tv offered its viewers or there should be subtitles. In doing so it caters for viewers that prefer watching in English or in Hindi. I find it very irritating to watch the soapies wherein there are lip-sync errors.
Lastly for the premium viewers pay every month, we should be offered content that is new and appeals to all viewers and we should not be paying to watch repeats.
In due time DSTV will lose most of their customers to OV HD and the Switch decoder.
Well Done To Multi choice Africa DSTV for having a complaints forum and not doing anything to ensure that their viewers are satisfied.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV account department

From 18 August 2017, until today the 4th of April 2018, my account is so messed up. I had 2 family packages, one in Pretoria and one in KZN, on the 18th August 2017, I cancelled the one family package and upgraded to the premium package, and cancelled the family package. I used the pricelock feature, with a explora, and purchased a second explora, with extra view. I am using 2 exploras and one normal decoder.

I've got dates and names I spoke to on various occassions, and finally I agreed to pay the extra money they said I am behind.

Today I went again, and paid. I recieved two sms's one stating they recieved my payment, but I am still R700 and odd change, I phoned and spoke to Sipho, who said that he gets a different amount. I recieved an sms bow stating I owe R2088-00. Sipho never phoned me back, as most of them promised to do so.
I just need someone that can explain to me, what is the problem. I am really fed up with this response, and no one that can tell me, what is actually the problem. Please help, I am a pensioner, and monies is'nt raining, so I beg for a quick response.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV billing & collection

Can someone please explain to me how much exactly I am owing and why, I keep calling the call centre agents and they all give me different answers and I seem to be getting different figures of what I owe and I am honestly getting frustrated. Another thing I would like to understand is why exactly the account between pricelock and residential arent linked and that I have to always call to allocate costs on multichoice's behalf.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV repetition of movies

This is ridiculous the amount of movies that is repeated. Also channels that we have no interest in but it is on the compact package. All the movies that they show is just repeated every week I don't know when was the last time that new movies were added on. Even with catch up the selection for movies is so few. We pay so much but when you turn on the tv there is nothing good to watch because all the movies that are being aired have been repeated so many time. No good family movies / comedy's nothing.

I agree with this comment. I have been a DSTV subscriber for years and the incessant number of repeats (movies, reality shows, especially that rubbish Kardashians) is unacceptable. The same shows are repeated year after year. This applies to the comedy shows as well - it is tiring to watch these old comedies - surely there must be up-to-date stuff that can be shown. Paying over R900 for repeats is frustrating. DSTV needs some competition - as long as they have the monopoly nothing will change! Something must be done to stop them ripping off the consumer in this manner. Very disgruntled customer...

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV dstv and pricelock ripoff, to the public stay away

To the public, don't get conned by multi choice dstv and with their "price lock". They are ripping people off. Rather get uncapped internet and subscribe to netflix or something. I requested a 2 year price lock in 2016. It came in april (8th) 2016.
It takes you numerous and long phone calls, to their technical department to get your new explora and old decoders connected again. Multichoice also charges rediculous call rates to speak to an incompitent consultant that does not assist you properly the first time! (call costs +- r2, 50 per minute - total close to r100)
then they overcharged me with +- r677 because. When querying this, multichoice informed me that it's because of the pro-rata amount for the normal subscription for the beginning of the month and pro rata for the pricelock till the end of april 2016?
thank goodness my pricelock is finished now but…….
Why did multichoice overcharge me and debited r1088 when the subscription is r899 -
multichoice reason - again pro-rata for beginning of april for price lock and pro-rata till the end of month for normal subscription.
I have cancelled and reversed the debit order until multichoice gives me a written reply on this website. If not i will cancel dstv permanantly. And persuade as many people as possible to cancel as well. I will take this to the media as well and expose multichoice for what they are.
There is anyway only rubbish on dstv lately and netflix is 1000 x better!

Dstv/multichoice sends a "private reply" (so that public does not see) from "rupert", sincerely apologising for the inconvenience and they will investigate my billing concerns and correspond with me as soon as information is available. No reply and no correspondence they just switch off my dstv because I refuse to pay their overcharged additional bill/costs! Previous reply from multichoice... Official private business reply good day aldo it is with regret that we learn of your unpleasant experience in dealing with multichoice and the level of service you experienced in this regard. We currently investigating your billing concerns with our price lock department for urgent resolution. Feedback will be provided by written or telephonic correspondence as soon as more information becomes available. Once again please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience you may have experienced in this regard. Feel free to contact us should you require any further assistance. Kind regards rupert
What communication? Multichoice's only communication is cutting off my dstv after almost 17 years of being a loyal customer and another 5 years of mnet subscriber. Without explaining why i'm being overcharged. Multichoice /dstv feels [censor] all for their loyal customers and service delivery and only interested in ripping them off with a s*t service/entertainment

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV continuous repeats of various programme and cancellation of glow

DSTV increased their premiums this month but I find the increase is not necessary. We see daily programs being repeated at various times, and when it is week-end there is absolutely nothing to watch due to the repeats. I find that some of the channels the sound goes off and then come back and we have missed a whole topic. Most of the time the Fox channel has no sound. DSTV is now giving us less but we have to pay more. I am seriously considering other options.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV cancellation of glow tv

I am very outraged on the decision of dstv to cancel Glow tv. There are so many channels that do not have enough viewers but they are still broadcasting we are paying dstv for stupid channels and we dont even watch them. We want Glow tv back as they have more than a million active viewers. I am going to cancel dstv and get OV hd which is way cheaper and they still have glow tv. Dstv is a waste of money you all are terrible. I regret even wasting my money on such a terrible service provider who cant keep the interest of they clients. I wish everybody could cancel dstv and realize what a waste their are. #Useless

Well I’m going to buy OVHD as it has glow there, rather than getting stuck with Dstv that doesn’t take its customers serious.

The substitute Indian programme channels (zeeW and ebella) are substandard to glowtv. They are an insult to Indian viewers as they are dubbed into English with the most ridiculous accents and mispronunciation of hindu names and words. DSTV does not even allow viewers to watch these programmes in the original language. It is not worth having DSTV anymore. OV would be a far better replacement. I anticipate that the decision DSTV has taken to remove glowtv is going to lead a lot of loss in viewer subscription. A very poor decision on behalf of dstv to remove glowtv.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV renewal of my pricelock contract [protected]

I had a price lock contract and received notification to renew in January. The monthly premium is paid by debit order. The February premium was paid and I was told to renew at end of February. From 3 February when I started negotiating to continue on price lock offer of R 844 per month. My services has been suspended 31 times now. Every time the service is suspended I am given an outstanding amount that has varied from R 2 200 to an amount of R 311.76 that was accompanied by a statement which I paid on 6 March. I have asked for statements to confirm outstanding amount but keep on getting promises but no statement. Please advise who I need to contact to rectify this very unpleasant problem I am experiencing.
The most annoying thing is that Multichoice usually suspends on a weekend, not during the week.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV price lock [protected]

I have settled my price lock account on the 15 of February, whereby I was told that the settlement amount is 2500.00 when I went to settle at the dstv center they made me pay 2700.after the payment has been made I contacted multi choice querying the settlement amount, then the agent I spoke to said they have received my payment, but the multi choice has to refund me 420.00 as I have paid more than my settlement. I then requested for a refund and a paid up letter I haven't received it till today, yet again when I want to pay today they still billed me for the price lock. I want that price lock account to be closed and pay my money premium of 365.00 only. If I dnt get feed back with 48hrs am this matter to the lawyers

I bought a new HD decoder to connect for extra view, it's been almost two weeks and I'm not connected. I've called the call centre more than 3 times and I've been told my issue has been ascaleted to business desk I should have connections by the end of the day, or the following day at most. It's been two weeks and I'm still with same error E-16. I'm very frustrated with poor service.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV upgrade package deal

Upgraded to premium service from comoact through this package you offered just last month. Upgrading byitself is a buge task by itself. Sont want to even go there. As a result of this "upgrade" my football games have been downgraded to SD as opposed to HD? What the f*** was that? You dont even have good movies in the premium. I would rather stick to my compact and watch my football channels thhrough HD. Thats the tradeoff I got as a result of upgrading through this package. I am gone DsTV! Switching to Bein! MultiChoice Africa / DSTV premium24 contract

I have been trying to set up a Premium24 contract via the Customer Care Centre over the last month without success. I get promised a phone call to set up this contract to no avail. I have also texted the advertised number to set this up to no avail. I am considering giving up my DSTV subscription in favour of NetFlik's as I believe them to have better content than Showmax and DSTV.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV glowtv cancellation and old content!

I dont think you understand that we are smart enough to actually unsubscribe your services. First you give us repeated shows. Then you take away shows and channels we love. Why aren't you gibing us new content on the BET channel? And why are you taking down Glowtv? And then you making us pay alot for what? Ever heard of Netflix? ..continue doing this and you'll have no one subscribing to your no longer worthy service!

They do not care abt what the consumer wants ..only what they can benefit from...glow was the best!.
And there are not jus indian followers of the channel but every race watches...no one wants local content...we want entertainment..theres enough local content on the other boring channels given to us by dstv...local content is not entertainment or family orientated...
Dstv needs to reply to us n not sit behind their big desks n smirk...we are outraged so give us flippin answers.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV cancellation of glow tv

I am completely outraged with DSTv decision to cancel Glow TV at the end of March 2018. There are so many useless channels that can be cancelled due to the useless content and the repeats they offer. Alot of people tune into Glow TV and follow all the soap dramas religiously. A couple of people have mentioned they mostly watch Glow TV and will cancel their Dstv subscriptions and move over to OVHD or StarSat should Dstv cancel Glow TV

Good day.
Please note I love glow TV soapies but lately they are showing repeat episodes that are not following consecutively.
How is it possible because all other channels show soapies that follow from episode to episode. Last night was worst because glow back tracked at least 4 episodes which we had already watched last week.
Kindly sort this out because we look forward to our viewing on OHVD.
I and many others will appreciate it.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV dstv premium

Good day.

so for the last few months dstv updates have been so so bad. I have the full package but not Internet connection. By saying that I have two movies available on catch up and only 8 movies that I could rent in box office. I feel I pay good money to have more than that available to me and I feel like it's better to cancel this and just not have dstv. what is going on that this is happening?

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV customer services / accounts department

Good day,

I got an sms that I have not paid my DSTV account.

Please find attached of both payments that has been made:

• Payment on 31/01/2018 kindly see email attached with my bank statement and the email below from payu confirming the amount has been paid over to DSTV.
• Kindly find attached the payment made on 28/02/2018.

This is utterly unprofessional as I have to phone DSTV 8 times now already and try and resolve this issue.

I have many times requested a statement of account in order to see what is going on, on my account and to date have not received any statement.

I have even send through the proof to the debt collectors from DSTV.

I sincerely hope that this can be resolved for once and for all.

Kind regards
