I had my 2012 Jeep Wrangler brakes serviced at a Mr. Tire Auto Center at 3738 Chapel Hill Blvd, 3738 Chapel Hill Blvd., Durham, NC 27707 on 08/15/2019. The serviceman installed a Remain Brake Caliper @ the cost of $244.99 on the left side of my vehicle. I had the right side of my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Brake Caliper replaced on 9/20/19 at a different garage. A New Brake Caliper was installed at a cost of $97.09. I would like to know how a Remain Brake Caliper cost as much as twice at Mr. Tire than another garage. The Remain Brake Caliper that was installed has all ready starting rusting. I think this is a very good example of "Price Gouging" I have been a customer at the Mr. Tire Store at 3738 Chapel Hill Blvd, 3738 Chapel Hill Blvd., Durham, NC 27707 for many years. I was the Motor Pool Service Manager for a Durham Community College. I had all 12 of my State vehicle serviced. I am very upset I was taking advantage of. I will not return to this Auto Center. I have informed my Family and Friend how I was ripped off. I advised the not to take their vehicle to this Auto Service Center.
Mr. Tire - stripped oil plug/pan
Took my 2013 Nissan Rouge to the dealer for it's scheduled maintenance this past Tuesday, June 4. According to the dealer my oil pan/plug had been stripped and would need to be replaced.
I went that afternoon to Mr Tire. I spoke with Chris, and asked for the manager. Chris advised he was the assistance manager and I advised him of the situation. He advised I would need to speak with the Manager, Bruce and he would return on the 5th.
I called and spoke with Bruce, advised him of the situation. Bruce advised to bring the car in and let them take a look and they take care of the problem. I advised I would bring the care by that afternoon.
When I arrived and spoke with Bruce he backtracked and said if the dealership changed the oil. they would be the last to touch it making Mr Tire no longer responsible. I advised Bruce yes, the dealership did change the oil, as they had the plug out already but they advised the plug and pan needs to be replaced.
Step up and own your mistakes! This needs to be addressed and corrected. I will give you a reasonable amount of time to address this issue before I escalate on my end. And I will escalate if this is not corrected.
