We had 2 coffee makers which didn't last even 3 months on either one of them. The heating element quit working on both of them. I brought both of them back. I went with a Black and Decker now that one also the heating element went out also. I have no idea what is going on. with the heating element. Thank you, Rita Grzegorek
Meep, you probably would have bought a toaster and blamed the manufacturer when you got electrocuted pouring water into it.

I've seen the same thing with the lower end coffee makers. Try a Cuisinart. They cost 2-3 times the price, but I've been using mine daily for over 4 years now.
