Motel 6 horrible, rude and intimidating service

I checked into the Motel 6 Columbus Ohio. (7480 North High Street
Columbus, OH 43235) on Monday, September 11th. The time was 6:30pm and my room (which was prepaid in advance through hotels.com) was not ready. I was told to give them my number and come back. At 8:30pm I was able to check into my room. Having traveled into town that morning and working the whole day this was a major inconvenience. My wife called to see why the room wasn't ready and told them I was there on business and needed this pre-booked room now. She asked if we needed to book a room elsewhere or would they honor the reservation with the service I require.
On the 3rd night, after coming back from work my room key did not work. After going to the front desk I was rudely told that they "locked me out" because my wife had questioned them being able to accommodate me for the week that first night. What?! Three nights after I'm checked in you rudely lock me out of my room in a power-trip because you're mad my wife threatened to stay elsewhere? Eventually, the manager made me a new key. And back to my room I go. The 4th night I returned to my room to find my things had been all packed up. Yes, the housekeeping staff or manager went through my things and packed all my stuff up. I went to the front to find out what is going on and was told, that again, they thought I wouldn't be staying for the whole week (and yet I left my things in my room each day). Another intimidation factor.
I will never stay in another Motel 6 again. I have never been treated with such disrespect and intimidating behavior.

Motel 6 policy

Has a military veteran and an individual of mexican decent decent I am appalled and outraged the policy your attendant(s) in Phoenix, AZ were doing conduction with the local ICE agency. YOUR establishment was basically "Racial profiling"! No question about it! Your company stated that the higher upper management was not aware of the practice that was going on in Phoenix. That is absolutely NO EXCUSE! A great company would have known if they had good solid policies in place and making un-announce visits to ALL their motels. When was the LAST TIME you had contact with the Phoenix based Motel 6's...probably a VERY VERY LONG TIME!

From this day forward I will NEVER step foot in a MOTEL 6 establishment again even if that means me having to stay in my own vehicle for the night due your establishment being the only motel in the area! I will also ensure this news is spread widely over social media!

Another question I and the American community would like to know just "how long this practice has been going on"? Also how do I and the American people know what is going on in PHX is not going on at other motel 6 establishment, especially those near a border?

You say you are sorry...well lets how transparent you are going to be with your so called "new policy" changes. Will you make a national statement on TV and social media to ensure this will NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN and let the American public how you are going to monitor the attendants at the front desk?

Motel 6 discrimination/ profiling/ racism / hate.

I am outraged by the recent reporting on your Arizona properties. The egregious behavior of your employees, randomly 'declaring your guests to be illegal immigrants', and having this policy possibly sanctioned by the corporation, is nothing short of criminal. We'll leave the light on for you may as well say, "if we don't like the way you look, go straight to jail"
I hope you get sued into oblivion.
B.t.w, I have stayed in one of your properties, en route from dallas to Pensacola. That won't happen again.

Motel 6 service and loss of money

So I get a room at Motel 6 in Madison, Wi. I ended up smoking outside at 8 am Friday morning. I was told by a GM that I couldn't smoke in front of building. I said I was sorry and that ill go to my car. She snaps off and starts saying shed arrest me and tow my car. Then she tries to say I have no room number on my parking pass...no one did. She said get the hell off my property or ill tow your car. I said go ahead...I'm armed and ill defend my property...violently if I have to. She said to leave and I asked for a refund for the 2 nights and she snaps and says No you forfite that because u broke our policy.
Yet while this is happens a drug head with a needle in his arm is 50ft away. That's [censor]. What kind of service are these people running?

Motel 6 housekeeping irma

I have stayed at the motel 6 on Eulid for approximately two weeks straight and longer on and off at this point. First I had issues with our room being cleaned at all to the point i had to go to the front desk and get towels sheets and toliet paper; and a large garbage bag to take all the trash out ourselves. Then I woke up to ants crawling all over me on and in my bed so i had to go down and get two full sets of sheets at 345 in the morning. That following​ morning we moved rooms and things were okay. Other than the power outage. Well then we have Irma, who is the head house keeper who always has an attitude. I wrote a letter to management and never heard anything, but she claimed she thought my room was empty when one of her house keepers had already come through and waited for me to answer the door, but Irma just opened it with my fiance asleep in the bed and I could have been indesposed. Im also on crutches so it takes me a minute to get the door. Well today while we were trying to pack up to leave she was very rude and would not take my disability into consideration with packing or the fact that i over slept and her constant interruptions weren't helping things move any faster. Telling management that I cussed her out when I merely asked her to get out of the damn door way so I could finish packing.

Motel 6 client privacy

I heard complaints of motel 6 giving morning account to ICE regarding guests registration also read the tweet response by the corporation in which it was designated as a local motel 6 decision not by the corporation and the guests privacy enforced. This is a great disappointment for the lack of guests privacy respect, whether legal or not, shows profiling and disrespect for their clientele, therefore I will not use your hotel, motels or franchises in the future...

Motel 6 registration lists to law enforcement agencies

I felt that it was a unique situation in Redding California that I was warned about the hotel giving police access to the hotel registry? At the time, I thought maybe the police could be looking for someone dangerous? Now I realize that this is something that has been going on for a long time, and your just now acknowledging that it's done, and obviously not taking responsibility for those actions. Though I only stay at motel 6 for a couple weeks a year, I do promise you that I will never set foot on one of your properties again. Your deceit to the customers is more than I can stomach. Good luck and good riddance.

Motel 6 motel 6 ice practice

Although I do not agree with illegal immigration Iam ashamed of the practices of motel 6. Profiling people because of their color and tipping off i.c.e. when a customer has paid his fees for the night is terrible. When I go on vacation my hotel choice is motel 6 due to their comfort and affordability. Not anymore. I will pay the extra $25 to stay in a establishment that I know doesn't discriminate.

I think what these Motel 6 employees did is awful. I will no longer be staying with this motel chain. Ever. (And no, I am not an illegal immigrant. I am an American with values.)

Motel 6 motel 6. 812 dunn ave jacksonville florida 32218

On 07/21/2017 I checked in the Motel 6 with my family. Upon arriving we noticed our window to the room was broken. They used cardboard and tape to cover up the hole and shattered glass. I walk in the room and checked for glass on the floor and noticed some blood splatter. I then pulled the blanket back to find a blood stain on the sheet. My girlfriend went to the front desk for new sheets because of the blood and the lady proceeded to tell her we would have to wait until morning because they didn't have any. She came back to the room and told me what the front desk said so I went out and had to buy 2 sheet sets and 2 blankets. I have a 3 month old and a 4 year old that was extremely tired from traveling so finding a new hotel wasn't an option. After I made the beds and cleaned the room I got my son ready to lay down and sleep. He was hot so he asked to turn the AC and when he walked over a piece of glass went in his foot. My girlfriend again went down the front desk to complain and was told she would have to leave and they don't offer refunds. So I then had to go to the front desk and explained to them the severity of this situation which I was told my girlfriend complains to much and they wouldn't accommodate us unless she stopped complaining and her manager, which I was told was the General manager, tells them to get talk to complaining guest however they feel necessary. I'm furious at this point and decide to go back to the room and take my son to the hospital before it gets too late. Not that the glass cut his foot that bad but since there was blood already in the room most likely because of the window being broken. I wanted to make sure my son was healthy and wasn't contaminated due to the prior blood in the room. I get back from the hospital and finally get to enjoy what's left of the day with my family. The next morning I go to the front desk to pay for another night and I'm told I can't pay because I used expedia so I would have to use expedia again. I wait for the other lady at the front desk and then pay for another night with no problems. The General manager and other woman at the front desk tell me this will be the last night because my girlfriend complains to much and if she doesn't say anything else we could continue to stay there. The General manager walks to the back as I start to walk away but I turn around for my room key and hear " make sure this is the last night for him and his half breed children." . She had no idea I was still standing there and the other employees stood there in shock. I have never in my life seen anything close to the disrespectful, unprofessional, racist, and completely ignorant actions of employees representing a company in my entire life.

Wow. The manager's behavior is completely unacceptable. This goes along with the racism inherent in Motel 6 turning in illegal immigrants in Arizona. I will spread the word on Facebook and Twitter.

Motel 6 room

We needed some place to stay while a family member had emergency brain surgery. We drove 7hrs you get to Madison. We wanted somewhere reasonably priced. Should have known what we were getting ourselves into when the ruins were only $50 for a king sized bed.
We rented two rooms. We were unable to even get into one of the rooms so we had to switch (after the front desk woman gave us new keys three times then she comes down to realize it isn't the keys, it's the door). Once into the new room, the television didn't work. We went to the front desk to tell them and she gives us a new remote. You guessed it, not the remote. It's the television.
Pillows are as flat as can be. Mattress wasn't horrible but not really comfortable, either. The phone didn't work. There was a dial tone but we couldn't call out to our other room or even the front desk. Thank God for cell phones. The bath towels are tiny. No tissues in the rooms and no alarm clocks.
I felt safe in the area and there are plenty of restaurants and places to shop in the area.

Dear Sir/Madame:

On August 19, 2017 my husband and I stayed in your hotel in Huntsville, Ontario. We booked a non-smoking room for one night on our way to a camping trip in the interior of Algonquin Park. Our intention was to ensure a good night’s sleep ahead of a long and strenuous canoe paddle and portage of our camping gear the next day. Unfortunately we discovered on entering our room that we had been given a smoking room. When we called the front desk to advise them of the error we were told that this was their last room and there was nothing they could do. Given the oppressive smell of smoke we went to the front desk to discuss the situation with the manager. We were told that they had recently had some workmen smoking in the room and confirmed that they had no other rooms to offer. I asked why we were not informed upon check-in but the manager only said that it was their last room. She offered me a 10% discount but maintained that she could do nothing else. Given that this was high season there were no rooms available in the city we had no choice but to stay.

During the night neither of us slept well. My husband could not sleep at all. After wandering the hotel for a while he spoke with the staff member on duty and was told that in fact the room had been a smoking room until the previous January and was being converted to a non-smoking room. This explained the deeply entrenched, suffocating odour of old cigarettes. He was again told that there were no other rooms available. Only when he suggested that he would try to sleep in our car, was he offered an extra room off the lobby, reserved for contractors, where he slept for the remainder of the night.

We left this hotel the next day exhausted, feeling ill from the smoke, feeling violated at having been treated so unjustly, and angry that our rights as consumers had been violated not only by the substitution of a smoking room but also by the lie of the manager of why the room was not what we had reserved. In all the years of travelling on business and staying in hundreds of hotels across North America, I have never had such an appalling experience as I had at your hotel.

We would like an apology, a truthful explanation of what your policy is towards your customers and compensation for this room in the full amount charged. If you require a copy of our receipt, I can forward it to you as I cannot find an option to attach it.

Motel 6 motel 6 westley california

I have stayed at several of your motels during my adult life

I have never been so disappointed with a room
Poor cleaning job, two towels (one a bath and one a floor mat?),
No water pressure the shower pull up valve leaked horribly,
One small bar soap and no shampoo or conditioner there's also shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower but they were empty.

Very disappointed

Motel 6 service at butler location in flagstaff arizona

I really hope this reaches corporate or upper management.
I have stayed at this motel many times before and never had an issue. But today was by far the worst customer service experience my family and i have ever experienced. I made my reservations online in advance and provided my cc info because i wanted my wife and 3 kids not to have any issues when they arrived. After i made the reservations i called the motel to confirm that my wife could show up and not need anything but her id. Jessica or jeniffer answered and added my wife so she could check in. I specifically asked if she would need to pay with my card and they stated that wasn't necessary, "all she needs is her id". My wife showed up and they said i needed to call and pay with my card. I called and jessica or jeniffer answered and asked me for the last 4 of my card and then transferred me to another reservations department where i was left on hold for 20 min after i finally hung up. I called my wife and told her to pay cash or pay with her card because i was busy with a client. 3 hours into waiting to check in with a 12 month old and 2 other children they were unable to get her checked in and my wife was obviously upset. They cancelled her reservation because she showed her discomfort. I called back to try and sort things out and i was also hung up on. Needless to say i will never go to motel 6...You get what you pay for. In this case i didn't even get what i assumed i had payed for. If you are staying there for a soccer tournament or any other event or reason, don't even bother, pay the extra mone, y it's not worth risking your wife and children being left without somewhere to sleep.

I rented a room a couple weeks ago and when I first got there there was no towels house keeping said they was going to bring some but never did I called front desk he said he was going to bring some never did I checked out in the morning told him I deserve a free room he lied and said he knocked on the door and said house keeping but he never did I deserve a free room

Motel 6 room in general

I rented a room 232 I had to wash out the shower and the toilet before using hair was everywhere the floor was not sweeped had sum dead and sum alive refrigerator was broke it stayed open the wall are filthy especially the bathroom I rent here very often and everytime is worse please address this and also in the 2 bedroom rooms there are no chairs no where to eat but on bed

Motel 6 my room and the lady in office

I will never stay at your hotel again as long as this is the standards that I get my sink is broke my toilet is broke the lady in the office is so rude she threaten me with jail over trying to talk to her about a cigarette I can't use the bathroom nor can I use my sink and I have five roaches climbing on me from your bed and they won't give me my money back for today stay as I have to sleep here another night

Motel 6 quality has declined and nearby competitors offer much more at a better price.

I am no longer a loyal motel 6 customer due to my most recent experiences at the LAX location 5150-century Blvd. Inglewood, Ca. I am in the Lois Angles area and stayed at this location for a week August 21st thru August 27th and although the experience was disappointing to me because I found they were charging $125 - $155 each individual night, no longer honoring AAA or AARP members any discount or late check out nor do they allow members free wifi. The staff varied in quality but for the most part were limited by what ever policies they had to enforce. The rooms in comparison to near by motels/hotels of equal and often much less in price; are dirty, smell horrible, the hallways are urine stained and smell as does the pool and elevators are always out of order. I have 3 small children and had to use the stairs 5 flights after a long energy draining day I had no choice but to leave our things un supervised at the bottom of the stairs that appear to be under construction and also smell horrible as well. I was also bothered by the fact that the bathroom fan didn't work on the 1st night so a maintenance man came to fix it while we waited to shower and rest following a 14 hour drive, I was anticipating some kind of consideration for the 2 hours it took him to attempt to fix it. Finally, I was called by the front desk and asked to pack up everyone and move to another floor that didn't have an ice machine and the room smelled like urine. After all that I was to tired to care so I showered and used the only towel provided and slept. for the past 2 weeks we have stayed a couple different motels in the area that offer lower rates, easy access to laundry, pool, gym and parking, wifi is free and rooms are larger, tvs are larger with better selection of channels . Nice staff, plenty of in room items such as mini fridge, microwave, working ac and bathroom fan. I, unfortunately, gave the Motel 6 another chance last night and after attempting to sleep on the 5th floor above the entrance I will no longer use this facility. The room was full of light the entire night and the ac smelled like raw meat when the morning came the stench from the heater was enough to make me vomit and I couldn't breathe in the room we had to leave for 2 hours until it was bearable enough to get a shower and our stuff. The pet policy is nice but should be somewhat enforced the dogs bark at all hours and urinate in the hallways also there is supposed to be a limit of 2 dogs per room dont get me wrong I am a pet owner myself but some people really abuse the pet policy at this location. Overall I feel the staff could have given us some compensation for our troubles the first week and after the second attempt and nearly $900 of disappointing experiences, I will definitely take my business elsewhere. good luck

Motel 6 hotel room

I recently rented a room with Motel 6 in Florence SC this was on the 25th of August. When I paid and was provided a key for my room as soon as I went into the room it smelled horrible and not only the blankets but The dressers had cigarette burns on them, the carpet was sticky and dirty! The bathroom smelled horrible, everything about the room was disgusting! I've been to motel 6 motels a few times and I've never seen it in such horrible conditions as the one in Florence SC I asked for my money back within 3 minutes of me staying there! I was giving a refund but had to wait for days because I use my debit card... never again will I rent a room from Motel 6

Motel 6 room request for a disabled person, internet service, lost and found

I am a 60 year old disabled man. I requested a smoking 1st floor room as I have VERY limited walking capabilities. When I got there on 9/3/17 for 2 nights my room was on the 3rd floor and Non-Smoking. I went back to the front desk and he gave me another room on the 2nd floor and it was dirty. Went back again and he gave me another room on the 2nd floor again which required a long walk to my car. No consideration for my disability.
The Internet service was down the whole time I was there making it necessary for me to leave the property and spend money at a coffee shop several times to use my laptop. I requested a credit to my bill but didn't get one.
I called the hotel the day after I checked out as I left some items in my room. I was told they would check with lost and found and get back to me right away which they never did. I spent many years working as a Hotel desk clerk, night auditor and night manager and find this all very disgusting. I will NEVER stay at a Motel 6 again.
I would like a partial or full refund as all this caused me extreme discomfort and pain due to my disability.
