These breeders are terrible.

First: We adopted a pet havanese from them and she made such a fuss over the paperwork for returning our deposit. It literally took about 50 emails and back and forth before she would accept them. The lady who runs the program, Bev, is a real piece of work let me tell you. Stubborn, stubborn, stubborn. She claims she has the best dogs, but we know for a fact that our dog, who is now just over 1 year old has some genetic hip problem. She has a hitch when she walks. We had her examined by our vet and he confirmed it was a genetic problem (but I'm sure Bev would deny it, because that's how she rolls). WE haven't bothered to report this back to the breeder because we just do not want to have to be in touch with the breeders themselves (ie, bev) nor do we want the hassle. WE love our little girl (she is TINY for a havanese, only 5 lbs) and we accept her with or without the hitch/hip problem. But you have to know that you're going to be dealing with an unpleasant person if you want a havanese from them.

And it's been over 6 months since we submitted our paperwork proving that she's been spayed and we have NOT seen or heard anything about our deposit. Unacceptable.

You can bet that upon reading this she will be sure to comment and make up a bunch of BS (as she did when we were trying to submit our paperwork proving our girl was spayed). And furthermore, any positive comments on here about them, i would take with TOTAL DOUBT. Because more likely is that it was the breeder or a friend who posted the positive comments.

Second: When we went to go and visit our puppy before adopting her, i swear there were literally 6-8 different litters all in one house somewhere in the boonies on Vancouver Island. When I saw this, in the back of my mind i thought "puppy mill", but I don't know what defines a place as a puppy mill. Certainly it did make me wonder what kind of individual care the puppies were actually getting. How can one person look after that many puppies? Sure, the pups were separated by litter, but there were honestly a LOT of litters in one household. Makes you wonder at the very least...
