Midland Mortgage Fraud

On August 16, 2022, a check in the amount of $24,614.74 was sent out to someone that was not me. The check was cashed. I never received nor did I make contact with the mortgage company or loss draft department to disperse. I do believe someone I know did this. I have reached out to mortgage company with a police report. They refuse to tell me where the check was cashed, it was deposited via mobile deposit.

Desired outcome: I want the fraud department or whatever area of the company that deals with issues such as these to step up and help me resolve this so my house can be repaired and the person who did this be held accountable.

Midland Mortgage Modification monthly payments and principal only payments not applied

Midland Mortgage is the devil. My mortgage was sold to them during the Covid Pandemic. The offered to modify my loan making the payments more affordable. The application was sent out but could not be notified because my name middle name was spelled wrong. I informed the company and they agreed to send out another form with the correct spelling. Two weeks later, I still haven't received the corrected form so I called them (on hold for more than 30 minutes) and finally decided to email them concerning the corrected form. I was sent another form with the correct spelling days before the deadline. I notified Midland Mortgage that the deadline was only a few days away and I just received the corrected form. I was told by the customer service rep to have the document notarized and mail it in. They reassured me that the modification will be honored. I was told to mail the 1st payment in along with the corrected form. Two weeks later, Midland Mortgage called me to tell me my application was denied because it was past the due date. I explained to them what I was told to do by the customer service rep. Of course, that representative was from Mars because they had no idea who the person was nor did they see any documentation concerning the issue with getting the document notarized. From that point on, the reason for being denied changed and they required me to do something new or different with each representative. I continued to sent the modified monthly payment in addition to "principle only" payments totaling more than $17k. None of the principle only payments have been applied to my loan and although they accepted my monthly payments, they have reported me to the credit bureaus as non-payment which is destroying my credit. At this point, I don't know what else to do. I've even emailed the president of the company and have not received any response to this day. I have made 3 complaints to CFPB and nothing has been resolved. If someone can give me some advice on how to get this taken care of, please let me know. My next step is to hire a lawyer.

Midland Mortgage Mortgage

This mortgage company is the absolute worst I have ever dealt with. Since Covid I have tried to modify the mortgage but they do not assist at all We pay our mortgage and they do not come up with any solutions for the attrats caused during COVID. Yjere is absolutely noone to escalate the matter to and they are all incapable of resolving the issue. Our business of shut down duing COVID and the bank kept reassuring us we would have options. Now they say we have no options because it is a conventional loan.

Midland Mortgage Escrow balance check fraud

Long story short, we paid off our mortgage 6 months ago. Midland sent a check of the balance of the escrow account. After waiting weeks to get it, I contacted them. I was told it had been cashed and was sent a copy of the check. Needless to say, it was stolen and fraudulently cashed. I reported it to their fraud department, followed their directions on what to do. More weeks go by. I call and am told that there was nothing they could do and that I needed to file a fraud claim with the bank that cashed the check. The bank officer shook her head with disgust, saying that Midland was responsible for doing that. I filed paperwork again and have been waiting for an additional month and a half. Two calls over three days have yielded no results, except for the fact that their internal communication process is as bad as their customer service. It's been 6 months. It shouldn't take this long to investigate an obvious forged check. It was even a third party cashed check, which I blame the subject bank for even processing. I am on the verge of launching legal action.

Desired outcome: I want my escrow funds ASAP

Midland Mortgage Mortgage

Our mortgage was recently purchased from Chase. In all my years Chase we never had a problem. We paid our mortgage month to month and never had an issue. Once our mortgage got purchased, the problems started. We have been paying monthly payments and Midland has been cashing the checks very well. SOMEHOW we are now $7,900 in debt and their monthly statements show no record of previous payments. Who is cashing our checks? TERRIBLE COMPANY.

Desired outcome: Resolution of our account status

Midland Mortgage Mortgage

Midland Mortgage took over our Mortgage from CitiMortgage several years ago. When Covid happened, my husband & I agreed to request the Covid plan to defer our payments. When covid plan ended, our Appraisal rose $200 more. The P/I is high also.

In 2022 we applied for Mortgage Assistance through our State, the State's Homeowners Assistance due to Covid. We were approved and thousands of dollars were sent to Midland Mortgage, to pay what we owed. It was paid in full. In February 2023 I called to speak with our Mortgage company to ask them why they didn't set our payment back to what is was, as they had stated over the phone to us. They then responded that because of Escrow & P/I the amount is why it is the way is now; which is $200 more than the payment they told us we would pay. So, I sent another application to the Homeowners Association and mentioned what happened. But, that was only to let the HUD & Homeowners Association know what Midland Mortgage is doing.

We had to save up to reach the amount of the monthly mortgage payment for February 2023. And then I paid 3 months of Mortgage. (that's including March's payment) in all I have paid over $3000. That includes the Escrow payment they said I should pay BEFORE March 1, 2023, so that they can LOWER our payment. They haven't LOWERED it.

Since March 8th, I have been logging into https://www.mymidlandmortgage.com and this is what it prompted me to: [Hmmm… can't reach this page Check if there is a typo in mymidlandmortgage.com.

If spelling is correct, try running Windows Network Diagnostics.

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN]

I have checked every day since, and I am still getting the same error.

Before Web Site shut down, the Mortgage payment was still set the high amount, (which is probably all the P/I that accrued while on the deferment period, due to Covid.

And, the Escrow payments I made, were showing WAY LESS than what my Husband & I paid. Our Credit score has gone down 100+ points because they NEVER report ON TIME.

I am starting to feel that Midland Mortgage/Midfirst Bank is defrauding us and anyone who has to pay them Mortgage.

Midland Mortgage Proof of claim

I have repeatly requested for them to prove my wet ink signature note that i signed contracting with them for about 5 months now and they refused. I finally got to the loss mitigation department and the lady on the phone after an argument finally got her to admit they never gave me a loan. She kept saying we haven't gave you a loan yet not until after the loan forbearance is over. I informed her that she sound quite silly. I told her a loan is done at the closing table between two parties and Midland Mortagage was not a party of interest on property. So now its court time

Midland Mortgage Loan modification

Midland Mortgage is a big JOKE! Do not EVER in life do business with these people! I have been trying to get out of loss mitigation for over 9 months only to hear a different story every single time I call to now having my application kicked out of loss mitigation to clearly saying they sent me plan documents and they have not sent me anything but letters about missing documents for the past 24 months. This company is a big JOKE! If you want any type of assistance you will get it alright, you will be forced into a bankruptcy to save your property. There goes your loan modification. UNBELIEVABLE!

Midland Mortgage Thieves, breaking and entering, possession of and sale of stolen property.

My mortgage was sold to Midland. That's when the problems started. The customer service to start with is a joke. But to make a long review short. Midland hired a company called First Rate Field Services to secure my property. My home was current on the mortgage. The house was for sale, a real estate sign in the front yard. I still lived in the home, but I was moving. So they assumed the home was vacant and they sent someone to secure it. FRFS was hired to do the job and they sent an employee. This person who I shouldn't name publicly drilled out my locks, put on his own, and proceeded to ransack my belongings. He damaged windows, doors, the attic access. He then posted my belongings on Facebook marketplace for sale. I have filed police reports, I have filed complaints. I have attempted to work with Midland to even get an apology. To no avail. I have one representative that has helped me with Midland. But most of the answers I get are "We're waiting to hear from FRFS." This happened 4 months ago! There is no sign of any resolution. I will never in a million years do business with Midland again. If I ever have my mortgage sold to them I will refinance. They are the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.

Desired outcome: Restitution

Midland Mortgage Owed tax refund check

Complaint Details
Hello, My complaint is I have been waiting for over 7 months for my check of overpaid taxes that I have been attempting to retrieve since they were mailed in March 17th 2021, I have spoken with Midland Mortgage since early March in reference to my over pay reimbursement which was explained to me that I'd receive the check shortly after my settlement of my refinance of my original mortgage. After a month I contacted Midland & was assured the payment was sent . After another month or so when I tried to inquire as to where the check was they had no information & I was told there was an issue w/ the mail service in my area COVID etc. Another month goes by & I received an email which states that my check was mailed approximately 3/17/21 so I called back to inquire & I was told that email was sent in error but after further review the employee of midland stated that the check will be reissued and could take up to 20 business days, so after 40 business days, this is my 4th issuing my check . Now approaching 8 months !

Desired outcome: Receive my check and interest for time spent

Midland Mortgage failure to apply escrow payments, unauthorized use of mortgage escrows, failure to disclose modification policy before use

I have retained council, this mortgage company is unscrupulous, my mortgage was sold to them during the hurricane and they did not honor the previous companies terms of a deferment. They wanted a lump sum payment or a modification. Their modification increased my interest rate more than the allowed rate and my payment giving themselves over $100, 000. More over the life of the loan. With help like this you don't need enemies. I refused the modification and paid up what I owed now they are still trying to raise my payment but through my escrows, stating I owe a cushion (hud states only 2 payment allowed) they want a years worth. They are requiring me to pay back $1700. For a wind'n hail policy I was paying myself and was not required by my original terms sold to them. They paid my policy and now require me to pay them plus a new policy for 2019 (not due till september) making double payments till september. They are not applying escrow payments of the last 6 payments. Where those monies are I don't know. They also have destroyed my good credit rating by reporting by reporting the deferment payments as late 90, 60 and 30. This all because I refused their modification and paid all back payments on my own. I have had 4 homes in the past and never missed a payment. They probably know this and want to increase my payments as a result. They took advantage of a federally declared disaster. Shame on them!

Midland Mortgage Loss draft department

I am also in the same boat. I sent my documents, check (which is a little over $4, 000.00) from my insurance company. I had a leak in my roof which was causing damage to my ceilings. I had a new roof put on by my contractor which was a little over $5, 000.00. I paid the contractor $1, 000 and sent the cancelled check to Midland Mortgage. After waiting a week I called them and they said I needed to send a supply list. Ok...so I did just that. Now I'm still waiting and the contractor who replaced my roof is pissed. I let him have a 3 way call with me to show him it's not me it's the BANK! Every time I call them it's you need this...you need that...then after getting it all its "this may take 10 to 20 business days"! I'm a wits end. SOMEBODY HELP ME!

Midland Mortgage Not honoring house note agreement

I am seeking help against Midland Mortgage for
overcharging/gouging/not keeping in good faith of original contract and agreed
upon house note payment/outlandish unrelated billing charges. This company is
charging my husband and me, which are veterans, over $200.00 more than our
original contracted house note amount for outlandish services. At one point we
were charged nearly $400 for the company hiring a real estate broker to come
out and verify we were living in the home. This is not right, and we need some
assistance in restoring the honor of our original contract, and financial reimbursement
for the overcharges this company has took liberty of bringing against us for no
reason.

Midland Mortgage Systematically Misinforms Loan Modification Applicants

I dedicated four months to working with Midland Mortgage, rearranging and resorting the same paper work over and over again, during the loan modification application process. After versions six, I came to believe that in fact, there was a pretty well-thought out strategy which prevented me from actually accomplishing my goal. Some of these tactics included:
• Consistently changing customer service representatives
• Notes and instruction from previous conversations were not in the system.
• The rules changed with every conversation
• Demanding small picky formatting issues that were not communicated previously.
• Withholding proper advisement and not providing clear written guidelines to refer to or refer back to.
• Only form letters were sent as follow ups. There was no paper trail regarding the shifting landscape or constantly changing "representatives" who had no real identity to trace as a continuing service provider.
• Discouraging me from seeking outside counsel or professional assistance. A comment echoed throughout the process by EVERY ONE of Midland representatives, "You could pay an accountant to do it but, it's EASY." Obliviously not...
• Refusal to accept date-stamped, time-sensitive profit and loss statements which resulted in...you guessed it ..starting all over again and adding new months on to the P+L. (To quote, "We don't check the fax machine every day.")
• I reconfigure and resubmit work more than 8 times from May –September 2012.

Ultimately, I gave up. Since I heard the same tactics delivered by countless Midland Mortgage specialists (i.e. "we need more information and an additional month's worth of receipts", "we didn't receive the fax in time", "you don't need an accountant", "that representative is not available but I can help you" (no name or email given for follow up), I am left to assume that Midland Mortgage intended to stall, confuse and discourage me from filing an accepted application because they prefer to continue receiving more rather than less from me and really care nothing at all about servicing me as a customer.

I'll never know, I'm sure.

What I do know however, is that I have constantly requested that all communication about this loan be delivered via postage, since the continuous calls have negatively impacted my ability to conduct business in my home office. This message has been ignored.

Unfortunately, these devious collection are used when home owners represent themselves. They know the playing field is uneven and will abuse you to the bitter end. We have had great success v. Midland Mortgage on many cases. We had to file aggressive Federal and State agency complaints on all cases...forcing Midland to prove up the validity of the debt. We concentrate on stripping down the validity of the debt and make it impossible for Midland Mortgage to collect further monies on the debt. This ultimately forces Midland to cooperate and offer a loan modification. Take notice on the fact that Midland does not want you to hire an outside firm...they will steer you clear of aggressive representation for a reason...they know they will eventually lose the battle. Feel free to call my office at 877.297.7011 for more information.
