Midas brake service

On March 24, 2018, I brought my car to Midas Location #1 5811 West Capital Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53216. I had an appt at 9am and arrived on time but still sat there for 3 HOURS! Total the service manager was Jon Alois, he told me I needed Rear Brake Pads & Rotors, I tried to hand Mr. Alois a coupon I had but he refused to accept it and talked about offering me some "deal" that was my first RED FLAG! I was charged $495.40, not even a week later I continued to hear a faint SQUEAL I returned, Mr. Alois came back saying I now needed CALIPERS! I said you said nothing about this when I was there the first time, Mr. Alois then went in the back and came out holding a stack of papers stating people have financial "issues" at this point I DID NOT know what the man was talking about because I NEVER REFUSED ANY SERVICE REGARDING MY BRAKES! I then requested my car and left. On June 2, 2018 the Squealing of my brakes was louder so since I COULD NOT GET MY BRAKES SERVICED PROPERLY, I took my car to Location #2 6044 North Port Washington Avenue, Milwaukee, WI. 53217 the service manager was B. Kuske, after I told him I was told I was told I needed Calipers he came back telling me I needed Calipers costing me ANOTHER $456.97! He stated they should have done this and that. To date Midas has cost me a GRAND TOTAL OF $952.37! I now find myself in the same situation a year later with even worst squealing and braking not good at ALL! My Hyundai Elantra is equipped with a mechanism in the front that will squeal when brakes are needed, my brakes are HORRIBLE! They squeal with the slightest pressure. I am requesting the proper service of my brakes that I did NOT receive that does NOT COST ME!

Midas cheated and insulted

MIDAS STORE #724, Central Ave Albany NY.
We had all four brakes changed, brake pads, all the rotors (which were bent) two years back.
Couple of weeks back the car started pulsating so I took it to the same shop where an obnoxious and arrogant person named Todd gave me an estimate which included change of rotors amongst other stuff.
When I protested about the brakes breaking down in two years, and I told him it was my wife's car, he said maybe I should cut her big toe off.
IF IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A JOKE IT WAS DISGUSTING, lNSULTING AND IN VERY POOR TASTE. MAYBE EVEN RACIST SINCE I AM NOT WHITE AS PER THE DEFINITION IN THIS COUNTRY.
By the way they had already started working on the car even before the estimate was presented to me.
There was also a charge for three year wheel alignment without my permission.
I was cheated and insulted by the entire episode.
I need to get compensated and a written apology from the manager.

Midas on 7/20/19 I had outer tie rods installed inv#0083470

About 10 days after the installation I started to notice a squeaking, coming from the front end. I took it back to the same Midas. I told the manager that it sounded like they forgot to grease the fittings sheet they installed the tie rods. They took the truck in back. Sheet inspection, I was informed that there were no fittings to be greased, that the new tie rods caused the ball joints to go bad. Then they stated that if they were not able to press out the ball joints that that would have to install new control arms. The manager stated if it's just the ball joints it would be $400 if they had to replace the control arms it would be $800. I told them to leave the estimate on my ticket and it be back. I work at a highschool. I told the auto shop teacher what happened. He looked at the car and told me the grease fittings on the new tie rods were dry. The squeaking was metal on metal contact. He greased the fittings. The noise went away

Midas air conditioning

I had services here to get my air conditioning fixed. I paid 300$ and a year later my air went out again. I went to Midas to get it refixed because I was still under warranty and the owner tried to recharge me for the service when I simply explained to him I was under a warranty. A previous employee had already told me that I only had to pay $60 for the labor and that the parts were covered. Now I'm here stuck with no a/c in the summer and Midas ripped me off and no one seems to Care. I have been a customer for years and have spent money faithfully here and I couldn't get any assistance I will never refer anyone to Midas and if corporate can't help I'll definitely make a report elsewhere.

He neglected to put a part back together and I had a problem when I started to drive home from when I took it back the next morning. Now I smell antifreeze when I turn on the ac. My car is not fixed the correct way and this is not right. I want a refund because O dont trust these mechanics anymore.

Midas midas brake package

I took my car (Toyota Corolla) to Midas 800 Marine Dr., to service the brakes, because sometimes I heard a bit squeal noise when I use the brake during going backwards. They charged me 151$ to service brake packages. When I gave back my car, I felt that the brake was hard, also the squeal noises increased. After that, I always heard bad squeal noise anytime I was depressing the brake. Also a hissing sounds added, too. I should say that they didn't fix anything, just they made the performance of my car brakes downed.
After several days, I forced to turnback to the Midas to check it again. They told me that the booster is failed and I should pay 955$ to fix it!. Unfortunately, their bad services, lead to my car brake package failed. I wonder, that they say Trust the Midas Touch! I complain about their work, because they caused my car brakes to down.

Midas oil change promotion

I've been going to Midas for years and never incurred a problem until this new manager. I had a receipt for every oil change to get the sixth free and because some of my packaged envelopes did not have a stamp he wouldn't accept them (even though he could read the receipts showing I received the service). Needless to say I got angry. How are you faulting me for the way I was checked out? I have the receipts! His explanation is that's not the way it works (Sham). In my anger I got a new envelope with 5 stamps to get the next free. I suggest that you have all your envelopes stamped regardless of having receipts because this is their way of not honoring their promotions. What happened to the customer is always right? I'll go back to another location (not Monroeville) for my free oil change and won't return thereafter. They lost a customer in me!

Repair order#0177143 on 7/13/19. @10:30 am

Midas oil change

I stopped in the MIDAS 1960 store this past Friday, 07/26/19 for an oil change. After running a few errands, I began to notice my vehicle dripping oil. I thought no big deal maybe they just made a little mess, so I ignored it, only to wake up the next day to my vehicle sitting in a puddle of oil. At this point I had already driven 2 hours away from where I had the oil change performed. Therefore I took it to the nearest service station I could find, to have it checked out. I was told that whoever performed the oil change did not replace my gasket. I ended up paying for another synthetic full service oil change which costs in the realm of $80. Thank god I caught it in time otherwise this could have cost me thousands for a new engine. I am highly disappointed. Since all of this took place over the weekend and Midas is closed on Sunday's there was nothing that could be done as far as speaking with them until the following Monday. I am headed to the store now to speak with management. I'll be back to write another review once I'm done. **UPDATE** Upon entering the store I asked to speak with a manager. "Jay" was at the counter who stated "I am a manager". I asked to speak with the store manager. Another person came to the desk and introduced himself as the store manager. I explained what happened and he responded "since you got it repaired somewhere else there is nothing that we can do to the car". I advised him that I am not looking for them to do anything further to my vehicle; at this point I do not trust their service. I am looking to be refunded for the oil change that was poorly done by your employees. He repeated. "I'm sorry there is nothing we can do". I asked for his name and he pointed to his card on the counter which read "Scott Fincher" Store Manager. At this point this issue is becoming bigger than a refund. It is my hopes that Midas remedies this issue before legal action is taken.

Midas honoring the warranty that came along with the product

One of the tires I noticed I had a slight bubble on the sidewall so I took it in for them to replace it because I bought these tires from them with a warranty. The tech who previously worked on the vehicle Miss wrote information about the mileage stating that the car had ran these tires well over a hundred thousand miles when in fact they only have about 10, 000 on them. The manager there even said himself these look brand new and I explained to him that there was a mistake and I have proof. I told him I can bring in the title of the vehicle when I bought it and transferred it into my name, they always take the current mileage at that time which is the same time I bought these tires and they still wouldn't listen or take the time to at least look into it. It bothers me that I pay good money 4 good service and get treated like this and basically get told we're not going to do anything for you

Midas poor brake service

I would like to bring to your attention about an incident with MIDAS INDIANAPOLIS, 8530 Michigan Road Northwest, Indianapolis IN 46268, who did a complete brake overhaul, including resurfacing of the rotors, for our 2010 Toyota Prius, on October 26, 2018. The charge was $ 520.79.
About two weeks ago, my wife complained of a strange noise from the front side of the car. I drove the car myself and realized that the sound was coming from the front right wheel whenever the brake is engaged. On July 15th afternoon, I took the car to the same MIDAS store and left the car there. I called at 5:19 pm, same afternoon, and inquired about the status of the car. I was told by a gentleman that there were some loose hardware that needs to be tightened and the car should be ready in no time. At 5:37 PM I got a call from MIDAS that the rotor has to be replaced because there are hotspots on the rotor.
Theoretically, the hotspots on the rotors could develop due to 1) aggressive braking such as 60 to 2 MPH in 2 sec, or 2) bad resurfacing in the first place. I can't believe that my wife practices aggressive braking. She has been driving Toyota Priuses for over 15 years and is a very safe and environmentally conscious driver. Therefore, it is clear that the workmanship in the first place (October 2018) was faulty. It is to be noted that my wife has been driving this car since 2010. How can you justify that while there was no problem of hotspot on rotor for eight years, but it has now developed in eight months due to a bad driving practice of the same person for the same car?
This is clearly an evidence of bad workmanship in October 2018. I would, therefore, request MIDAS INDIANAPOLIS, 8530 Michigan Road Northwest, Indianapolis IN 46268, to replace the rotor and pad, without any extra charge to us.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,

Midas default ac compressor and ac car system ruined now

I wanted to let you know that unfortunately a couple of repairs at your shop have gone bad with my car, and I'm seriously doubting the professionalism of the people working there.

I initially brought my car to your MIDAS 25201 Market Place Drive, Katy TX facility on April 30 with my car's AC not working.

I was advise that it was the AC compressor that I actually had replaced about 3 years ago, The repairs can be seen in the attached invoice for 765.23 $ (Invoice 0010586).

Not even two months later on June 8, the car's AC stopped working! I went again to your shop and was advised that now is the Expansion valve and Condenser. At that point I only replaced the Expansion valve for 370.78$ (Invoice 0010851).

That same day one of the technicians picked me up in my house and the car was cooling tremendously, I drove him back to your facility and as soon as I turned the car and AC on and went back home it stopped cooling once more!

I called immediately and let them know, and I never again turned the AC on in my car since!.

I wanted to point out that this is my daily driver and I also drive my 7 year old son to his summer camp with this heat (90 - 100 oF) due to the AC not working.

Last Friday July 5th, I decided to take the car to a 2nd shop which only rand a diagnostic of the AC (No parts were replaced), and to my surprise they tell the AC Compressor that I purchased in April is not working properly, and also is not a NEW compressor but rebuilt!

They also showed me that there us a Bracket that holds the compressor in it's place that is broken, as you can see in the picture (this is a 151$ part at Honda).

I would like to know:
•Why did I get charged for a new compressor and got a remanufactured one?
•Why did your mechanics replace the AC compressor and never told me about the broken AC bracket? I'm thinking it must have broken during the installation at your shop.
•As you can see I've paid over 1211.01 $ on both of your shops visits and 75$ on the diagnostics on the 2nd shop.
•How are we going to solve this? I would like to get my money refunded as I still have to live with the AC broken and lost total confidence on the repairs in your shop. else, what option does MIDAS provide?

Please let me know ASAP, I called on Friday July 5th and was advised by one of your employees that you were off and not back until today at 10:00 Am

Update: I received a call from a Justin Morris, MIDAS Area Manager on Friday July 12 (an entire week after I submitted this e-mail), keep in mind that the temperatures here in the Houston, TX area are above 100 oF and this is my daily driver. He asked me to bring the car back so they can "take a look" at the AC system. I explained I refuse to come back to that particular or any other MIDAS shop and I will keep insisting that I demand to have my money back for both repairs (AC compressor and Expansion valve)

Midas 2011 hyundai elantra limited oil change

I've gotten in oil change from Midas about a month ago and as soon as I left the building my oil leaked completely out, the car started to smoke up leading me to go back to them. Come to find out my oil cap wasn't on due to them and because of that happening my car wasn't able to start. Midas told me it's was the timing belt and tried to fix the problems, it caused me to be able to leave Midas but a couple weeks later I come to find out I had a small leak in my oil causing my engine to lock up so basically my car isn't working now and they are not fixing it

Midas power steering unit replacement failed 10 feet from bay lift.

Needed unit replaced. Took car in for assessment. Part was not available and had to be ordered overnite for next morning delivery. After claiming that water pump had a leak, which I denied (no evidence of a prior leak or any overheating), PSU was installed. While bringing car down off lift and pulling out of bay, car was still grinding. 10 feet away from the bay door, loud pop was heard, and brand new part broke. New part had to be ordered. That was 3 days ago. Follow up phone call was made to determine status of repair, to which I was told "I'm with a customer and I'll call you back shortly". No phone call has been received yet. (that was two days ago}. At this point, I still don't have my vehicle or know the status of repairs that should have been completed by now. This reprehensible customer service took place at Middletown New York Midas and the manager is Chris with the regional manager being David Shaw.

Midas parts cost

We we're charged over $950 for a part that online would be around $300. That was before the labor tacked on. It was for my 2006 pontiac vibe. I was charged $949.99 for a direct fit converter. When i finally got a hold of someone after numerous emails i was told if i brought in my own part it would be cheaper. They continued to say since it was a professional install and under some warranties thats why it was so much. Manager told me companies have to make money also. I don't think so.

I went to reset my car TPMS. They checked car breaks too. They asked me to change breaks and gave me bill of $1300 when I said I will come back to change breaks now just fix TPMS they refused to do it and I paid $80 for no work done. Now whenever I stop my car on signal engine shuts off and it takes while to restart it. They did something wrong to my car. It never happened before visiting them. After I saw reviews about them then I am sure definitely they did something which making my car to shut off engine on the road.

Midas fraud

Does Midas EVER check the complaints made online? On the website there are only 5 reviews all 5 stars but go to Google and see thw real picture. Is this how Midas operates? Needs to be investigated, maybe by a news outlet undercover

My Google Review
This establishment is totally dishonest. They also do not post bad reviews on their website.
When my wife took her car in they kept it for hous and would not let it off the lift stating that a lo9se strut was way too dangerous to drive. After I arrived they said that if I inform my insurance that I hit a pothole the insurance would pay the almost $3000 to fix it.
I had them release the car and still driving fine over two years later. They never checked the brakes that day.
Today when I called to find pricing for pads and rotors on my car they said they do not quote prices because they do not know what needs to be done...obviously I want rotors and brakes to be done.
Avoid at all cost.

Midas oil change in my new car

I was at the location on 5885 Far Hills Avenue. Dayton OH 45429, for an oil change, in my nearly new car with 1300 miles. After discussing with them, that the last time I went to a garage other than midas. My dipstick read more than a quart and a half low in the parking lot of that garage. After my oil change, I took my car home. After adequate cool down time (over 2 hours) I noticed I was more than a quart low. My dipstick read halfway up the crosshatched portion of my dipstick on my newer car which does not leak any oil. If I took the car back to them across town, im sure they would have made it right, but I opted to use some oil my mother had in her garage to top it off. I am appalled that this happened. Ive taken 4 quartere os automotive in my spare time at my local college. So i am qualified to say this

Midas car repairs

Took my daughters Outback in to get an alignment because it was pulling to the right and just had tire rods put on the front-so I told the guy it might need a ball joint on the passenger side and he said ok-so after an hour they said the car was done and I paid them 135.00 and got in the car-so when I drove down the street the car was making a horrible banding and the one tire was bouncing-so how do I bring a car in for pulling and leave with a tire bouncing and horrible banging-so I took it another shop and they said one I shouldn't be driving the car because both front axles where broke and the wheel could fallen off and once again this is my daughters car (which they broke at Midas) because of the experts at Midas should look over the front and they should have seen or noticed it because the tire had to much play in it the other shop said-but our safety and work is not their problem-I should get a refund for all the damage they caused to the car-I add the invoices from both places so show the dates and the work I had to get done-I'm not happy at all.

Midas inspection

Wednesday, May 1st I went into Midas in Harriman NY for an inspection. I was told that my vehicle failed inspection because of my brakes and my wipers. I asked to see what was the problem while the car was still in the garage.
The man proceeded to check my wipers in front of me, he couldn't find where the problem was which ended up being a little awkward, then didn't show me anything on my brakes.
I had just bought those wipers, so I already thought I was being cheated.
My brakes were making no noise, no staggering when braking, so I also thought that was odd. As someone who works a little bit on my own car, I know what my brakes are supposed to look like and what it needs to pass inspection.
Same day, I took my car to another establishment. Left it there, passed inspection. My wipers were new, and while my brakes will need some work done eventually, they were not at the point in which my inspection should have failed. Not to mention that I was going to be charged $390 dollars for a brake job.
I don't think insulting the company or the people that work there is the way to go. I would just hope you guys would be a little more honest. I get that you have to sell and make money, but a lot of shops survive off of being honest and doing good work. I'm more disappointed than anything.

Thanks for getting back to me on google.
