It is by far the worst car rental, travel and customer service experience I have ever had. I am a seasoned travelled, have rented cars on many occasions throughout the world, including Mexico and never had problems or waits to this extent.

1 hour for a [censored]tle from the airport. Over 2 hours wait to be checked in plus a further 40 mins to get the car from the lot. 3 hours and 40 mins total.

The car was not the size I prepaid for, they had oversold cars so the car did not fit our luggage.

They refused to give us the car unless we took our their insurance. Would not accept the external insurance provided or the one purchased through priceline. This is an absolute SCAM. I had credit card insurance and additional insurance coverage but they would not "accept it" you have to take theirs at $35/day. This cost me a further $200 which was more than twice as much as the rental itself!

The customer service was awful. They were rude, unapologetic and lied about the laws and procedures. Made up rules that were not listed on the policy or booking terms. If I hadn't prepaid and had two crying babies waiting for almost four hours, I would have walked to another rental place. I'm regretful I didn't

It took 1 hour to return the car and their were no instructions on how to do so, which cause widespread confusion. I honestly cannot express how bad this place is.

Got Rental Car in package with flight. Check with insurance company AAA for insurance coverage in Florida, they said that by coverage was good.

When I showed up to get my car at MEX Rent a car,

3255 McCoy rd. Belle Isle, FL., was told I didn't have enough coverage for their company and to get the prepaid car, I would have to buy their insurance coverage for $125!

This is a switch and bait sham!

The next customer, who road with me to the same company was treated the same with being told they needed more insurance coverage.

I've never had a problem with liability insurance before in Florida, which I travel to a couple times a year.(

You need to screen the companies you do business with.

Your selling a sham to loyal customers (which I may not deal with you in the future).

Your selling a so called deal to customers who get screwed at the end with a higher Price!

Bad for future business!

Used Expedia to rent a car with them in Monterrey, Mexico but their other name, Más rent a car (which is never a good sign that they have 2 names), they would not accept my government issued ID in Mexico along with my Mexican drivers license so I asked if we could switch to my wife then since she is Mexican. They wouldn’t allow that either. Tried cancelling the car which they said I had to go through Expedia since I did the booking through the website. So I contacted Expedia and they said they needed to contact Más or Mex for the cancellation since the pick up time had passed. I’d been dealing with the car company for over an hour which exceeded our pick up time. So Expedia contacted them and they wouldn’t cancel and refund my money. It’s a Scam and stay away from them at all costs. Use the more known reputable companies. We went next door and got a car right away with hertz using my identification that everyone accepts.

On Octuber 31, 2022 we had a reservation to pick up a car at Mex Rental Car in La Paz Baja California Mexico. When we arrived, the employee Geovanny checked out reservation and told us they didn't have the car we reserved and that they didn't have any cars available except an expensive Jeep. We reserved a compact vehicle. He tried to give us a jeep that of course was more expensive and also more difficult for my husband to get in since he is disable. My husband is in a wheelchair and was sick of his stomach I explained the situation to this person Geovanny but he was very disrespectful and uncourteous. I asked him to please at least takes us to our hotel since it was their fault for not having our vehicle; he said no; that he could just take us back to the airport. When I saw the back of the parking lot I saw several cars available. I just can't believe the unprofessionalism of this person in charge and the disrespect for a sick and handicap old person .

I rented a car in MexCar (MExican Company) to pick up in Cancun on March 4th 2017 and return on 6th same location, but the important part is that I did the reservation through a broker called AUTOESCAPE.
When I got to the airport there was no one from MexCar to receive us, while the rest of the companies had personnel receiving their clients and taking them to their cars. After almost two hours of calling the 1 800 number and talking to a person that had no idea where the personnel from MexCar where, we finally managed to get to their office. When we got there the person on the desk tells me that he had no more cars, he rented them all. I asked him why they did not keep cars for prepaid clients (my case) and he said that they just rent all their cars as people walk in, and that was the way the company operated. After discussing for a while, a discussion that was going to take nowhere, I walked out and rented a car with another company.
Once I finished my trip I raised my complaint with AUTOESCAPE and I keep on getting the same answer from them, that they are investigating...I am asking them to pay me back what they charge me and also to pay the rental I had to do with another company almost 3 hours later.
This type of things should not happen, specially on a place where people are going on vacations. I hope this helps others to make a good choice when renting a car for your holidays, and hope also to get a different answer from AUTOESCAPE and finally get my refund.
