The details are so numerous that it is impossible to include them all. However, I was charged for an item that I did not purchase on April, 2007 (it was a purchase being made by a lady next to me that was accidentally added to my charge). I immediately caught the charge during purchase and it was supposedly rectified by the clerk at Mervyns at that time-it wasn't, and showed up on my statement! I called immediately and was sent a statement to sign. I signed and returned the statement. I was then billed again for the item! I received a letter saying that I was responsible for the charge as I had my credit card on me at the time (obviously). I called again. I was told to write a letter stating, 'what happened and get it signed by the store manager and send it to G E Money Bank.' I complied. I was still billed for the fraudulent item. I went to Mervyn's and the store manager assisted and called G E Money Bank (as she did not have a code number to remove the charge-which now had late charges and finance charges added to it). A "manager" "George" told us that he would send another letter for me to write "this was not purchased by me" on and he asked for a copy of my CDL to compare signatueres on the charge (the copy that was sent to me was obviously not my signature-it wasn't even my name). George said that he would write a letter to TRW to explain the error and that I would receive a copy. I sent what George asked for. I did not receive a letter - in fact, no letter was sent to TRW. I received another letter saying that I was responsible for the original fraudulent charge since I had my card on me at the time. I went to the manager of Mervyns in San Luis Obispo, California -again- and she called and after several calls it was agreed by yet another "manager" of G E Money Bank that the charges were not my fault and that all charges would be removed within 7-10 days. So, when I received my statement in December, 2007, the late and finance charges were removed and half of the original charge was credited! I am still being charged for half of the original fraudulent charge and I have a finance charge on my account for the current charge. I called G E Money Bank and spoke to a "manager" "Arnold" who said that I 'needed to sign a letter' (the same one that I have already signed three times!). I have two calls in to the manager at Mervyn's and am waiting for a call back to get her assistance. I have copies of all letters that I wrote during all of this... I have not made another purchase at Mervyns since April, 2007. G E Money Bank is located in Texas-but the Mervyn's is in California.

Dear Mervyns, I live in Napa, Ca. and shop at the Napa Mervyns Store. The store appearance needs to be looked into. It is not kept up at all. The carpet is dirty, and no one seems to pick up litter all o0ver the floor. There are hispanic women clerks in the womens dep;artment, and i was in a line to be waited on, and 0ne of the clerks walked away from her register to straighten shelves. This was annoying, as she just waited on someone before me. The store is such a mess, even raCKS OF BLOUSES WERe OFF THE WALL laying on the floor. It seems to get worse all the time. Napa only has 2 department stores,Mccaulaughs and mervyns. Mccaulaughs store is very neat and clean. Why is Mervys such a mess? Also Mervyns use to carry a much better quality of womens clothing. I have lived here all my life, and never have I seen a store like this. I beleive it must be Napa Mervyns managment. Most people I know go to the malls to get what they neeed, especially womens dresses., which Mervys seem not to have much of. Please look into this situation. You need to see it to beleive it. Thank You Mrs. Donna Fortenberry
